Lunch that day was a bright red ramen that I saw on Mairebi's Instagram! It was really red! I thought to myself, wow, people who eat this are amazing. As I read on, I found out that it's similar to the taste of a restaurant I've been wanting to try. I definitely want to try it. My partner and I had the same day off, so it's lunchtime! Let's go, let's go right now! I was planning to eat the spiciest Daifunka Men, but when we arrived a little before opening, a customer was being gently advised not to try the Daifunka Men because it's very spicy. Okay! Hearing that, I got scared. Wow, the Daifunka Men seems too much. I'll go with the Funka Men. We were seated and I asked the server a few questions before ordering the Funka Men. I chose thin noodles and added a flavored egg. My partner ordered the Men's Black Shoyu with extra toppings. If you finish it, you get a can badge. He likes that kind of challenge. Now, here it is, the Funka Men. It's red! Or rather, it's full of red chili peppers! Can I really eat this...? I might choke. I'm sure I'll choke. With a lot of trepidation, I picked up my chopsticks and lifted the noodles full of chili peppers. I took a deep breath and took a bite. Slurp... Huh? I didn't choke. The noodles are delicious. The soup is also delicious! This might be my favorite among all the spicy dishes I've had. Maybe they used not-so-spicy chili peppers? Even though my mouth is full of chili peppers, it's not painful or too spicy, and I can still smell the chili peppers. But most of all, the soup is delicious! Maybe I could have handled the Daifunka Men after all! Maybe because I didn't get the large portion, the noodles disappeared quickly. I looked at the remaining soup and thought for a moment. My partner said one bowl of ramen isn't enough for him, and he's going to eat another bowl. Should I go for the Daifunka Men now...? No, let's be good today. Excuse me, can I have some extra rice? The rice that came was cooked perfectly! I enjoyed the remaining soup with the rice. After eating, just a warning, your mouth will be full of chili peppers like the nori on takoyaki. My partner added a limited-time tsukemen. It looked like a big portion, but it was actually served on a plate, so it seems he still wasn't satisfied, but he didn't quite like the dipping sauce, so oh well. Next time, I want to come back for the Daifunka Men, but the challenge is what to do with my partner. Maybe have him eat at the neighboring Yoshigyu as well?
