First visit after relocation. It's a bit closer to Hankyu Kami-Shinjo Station South Exit now. I went in the early afternoon, but all my favorite boiled fish ramen dishes were sold out. This time, I ordered the Tsuke-men for the first time. The interior of the restaurant has become larger due to the relocation, but during lunchtime, there was a restless atmosphere with students coming and going for free rice refills. The atmosphere has also changed with posters of otaku-style idols and soccer uniforms hanging on the walls. I wonder if the owner has changed? The service was relatively quick. When I tried the Tsuke-men for the first time, it was a bit salty. Disappointing. I still wanted to have the delicious special boiled fish ramen. I'm worried that the taste may have dropped after the relocation, but I want to give it another try.

Today's lunchtime was in the vicinity of Hankyu Kami-Shinjo. I was drawn to a sign on the sidewalk and ended up entering the restaurant. I ordered my favorite mixed noodles and got white rice for free. This is how lunchtime should be. I purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine, and although I was curious about the "Tenjiro" menu, I ordered the "Tengyan mixed noodles". I usually like garlic, but I passed on it this time since I was at work. The small restaurant quickly filled up. After a short wait, my noodles arrived. The visual presentation was beautiful. Chopped white onions, bonito flakes, cilantro, long menma, and minced meat were arranged clockwise, with an egg yolk in the center. I mixed the abundant toppings together. The noodles were thick and flat. I enjoyed the thick noodles after mixing everything well. Huh? The soup tasted quite sweet. But it was delicious. I found myself eating more and more. And when I finished the noodles, I took a small dive into the side rice. It was nice to be able to scoop up the amount of rice I wanted myself. I look forward to trying the "Tenjiro" next time. Today, I am grateful for my healthy body.

Ramen Tengu-an in Osaka shifted its business model from takoyaki to ramen and opened in August 2014. The menu includes Ajitama Niboshi Ramen for 950 yen. The soup combines rich tonkotsu pork bone broth with flavorful fish stock, creating a balanced and flavorful broth. The noodles are thin and firm, providing a satisfying chew and allowing the flavors to meld gradually as you slurp them up. Toppings include a generous portion of tender chashu, crunchy menma, creamy ajitama, negi, nori, and black pepper. The reviewer enjoyed the Niboshi Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, noting the depth of flavor in the broth and the clear communication of taste through the noodles.

Spicy mixed noodles (with garlic + level 2 spiciness) with free lunchtime rice. The level 2 spiciness added a nice kick to the dish, enhancing the sweetness and umami flavors. The generous amount of meat miso made it delicious even when mixed with rice. The level 2 spiciness was manageable but had a lingering heat, so those who are not good with spicy food should be cautious.

First visit. Purchased a ticket for the spicy mixed noodles. It was mentioned that you can choose the spiciness level from 4 options, so I went with level 2 for now. The toppings included minced meat, egg yolk, long bamboo shoots, white leeks, chopped seaweed, and Taiwanese-style chives. The noodles were medium thickness straight noodles. Rice is available for free as self-service. It's more like eating the rice alongside the noodles rather than as a finishing touch. If you like spicy food, you may want to go for level 3 or higher as level 2 wasn't too spicy. Thank you for the meal.

In the fiercely competitive area of Hankyu Kamishinjo, ramen, tsukemen, and maze-soba, there are some pretty delicious seafood-based shops. The rich seafood soup has a gentle flavor without any bitterness or fishy smell. Despite its rich appearance, it is surprisingly easy to eat even after drinking.

The other day's lunch. I finally visited Tengu-an, a place I had been curious about for a while. They passed my ramen shop evaluation points with flying colors - alcohol, tissues, and a gold sticker set. I was torn between their dried fish ramen and their most popular Tengyan maze soba, but ended up choosing the latter. During lunchtime, they offer free rice, and you can feel their dedication in every aspect of the noodles and ingredients. When everything is mixed together, it creates a perfect harmony of flavors. The vinegar for flavor variation even has a subtle touch of kelp, showing their attention to detail. I usually have a late lunch due to work, but I'm grateful that Tengu-an serves delicious food even around 2 pm.

Yesterday (8/9), after eating a bowl at a new store near Hankyu Kyoto Line Kamishinjo Station, I headed a little further north to visit this unvisited shop in the same Mizukoshi area for a back-to-back meal. I purchased a ticket for "Niboshi Ramen (850 yen)" at the ticket machine upon entering, then sat at the counter seat for a short wait. Soon, the bowl arrived with toppings such as chashu, menma, nori, and chopped green onions in a murky tea-colored soup. When I tasted the soup, it was like a typical niboshi ramen, similar to the taste of "Tamagoro" soup. I chose thin noodles, which turned out to be a mistake as they didn't quite match the niboshi flavor - I regretted not choosing medium thickness noodles. Nevertheless, I managed to finish the meal. Despite being lured by the current rating of 3.62 on "Tabelog", it was just an ordinary niboshi ramen, neither above nor below standard. That sums up my experience at this place.

Popular ramen shop in the Joso Shinjo area. Known for their seafood tonkotsu ramen and various maze soba dishes. The signature dish, Tengyan Maze Soba, has arrived. The noodles are thick, straight, and flat. They are chewy and bouncy. Toppings include minced meat, long bamboo shoots, bonito flakes, egg yolk, green onions, and watercress. The slightly sweet soy sauce dressing and seafood oil with bonito flakes give it a strong seafood flavor. The self-service endless rice at the end is a highly satisfying finale. #Mazesoba #Ramen

On Sunday, I used the Enjoy Eco Card (1daypass) to transfer from the Hankyu Toyoshina station to Osaka City Bus at Daido Toyosato and head to Kamishinjo. I ended up at a shop with a long line of people waiting, but managed to snag a seat at the counter. I ordered the mixed noodles with extra noodles for 1050 yen, with garlic. The rice was self-service, which was a surprise. The dish arrived and I mixed it up. It had bamboo shoots instead of bean sprouts, and there was no meat. The egg yolk had meat miso underneath. There was a good amount of bonito flakes on top. The portion was quite large. The noodles were medium-thick and flat, and very tasty. I finished the whole dish, but couldn't finish the rice. The soup wasn't too strong, so I drank it with a spoon. Overall, it was delicious as expected, and I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!

Hello. It's me. Today, I started with a cat food can that came with chopsticks at the convenience store. The star of the day is the Ten-Gya Mazesoba for 900 yen at a ramen battleground in Kami-Shinjo. This place has established itself as a top Mazesoba shop in the area. The noodles are chewy, straight-cut flat noodles. They are topped with a slightly sweet soy sauce dressing and bonito flakes, giving them a seafood flavor. The minced meat is slightly sweet, and you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. You can also have some rice at the end. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today is my day off. I rode my bike to Kami-Shinjo Station and went to Tengu-an for the first time in a while. I usually stop by after going to the nearby public bath, but I decided to skip the bath this time because there are many COVID-19 cases. I tried their curry maze-soba, which is the only thing I ever order! I always get it with medium spiciness and extra garlic. I also got some furikake on the side.

The mixed noodles at Tengu-an in Josenjo are satisfying with the large thick noodles. It seems to have a soup base of seafood and pork bone, similar to the Doden-yaki mixed noodles, with a deep and delicious flavor. Tengu-an, 1-16-8 Mizumitsu, Higashi Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka.

In December, I covered the remaining 10 ramen shops in the "2021 Ramen 20 Match Seazon7" series. I aim to include various ramen spots from the Kinki region in this blog, so I usually avoid focusing on a narrow area. However, this time I will be featuring 10 ramen shops in the Up Shinjo-Awaji area. Up Shinjo-Awaji Ramen 10 Match - Part 7: "Tengu-an" (Osaka, Up Shinjo-Awaji). I ordered the Tengu-an Mazesoba for 900 yen.

The ramen shop that serves delicious maze-soba. I always order the medium-spicy curry maze-soba, even for those who are not good with spicy food, the medium-spicy should be fine. During lunch, you can have free rice from the rice cooker, so you can eat as much as you like. Previously, there were homemade furikake on the table, but now they bring you frozen homemade furikake when you ask for it. It seems to be for hygiene reasons... It's delicious to sprinkle a lot of furikake on the rice. It's even more delicious to add rice after eating the curry maze-soba.

This restaurant reminded me that sometimes, enjoying ramen without any fancy descriptions is what really matters. The soup is outstanding, and the charred chashu and menma are exquisite, showing incredible attention to detail. The balance of the soup must have taken a lot of trial and error to achieve. It's rich and creamy yet elegant, with no hint of the typical fishy taste of bonito broth. If you didn't know it was bonito broth, you'd probably still find it delicious. Even those who prefer heavier, more indulgent ramen would likely become fans of this place.

In September of the 3rd year of Reiwa, you can enjoy a delicious mixed ramen for 900 yen during lunchtime (12:00-14:30). The lunchtime special includes free rice to mix with the ramen toppings and homemade furikake, so you can enjoy it until the very end.

I took a photo, it's a bit blurry but here's my post!! August 30, 2021, Monday, the first day of a long weekend! I have the day off on a weekday! I went to Kami-Shinjo in the early afternoon! Before heading to the natural hot spring for my first visit, I had a light lunch! It's not good to be hungry before going to the sauna, so after a long time, I went to Tengu-an! Since it was past 1 pm, there were no other customers. The delivery orders seemed quite busy though? I ordered the seasonal limited "Cold Shabu Salad Mazesoba". During lunchtime, there was free white rice from a rice master, which was very tempting, but I resisted for now. I was also tempted to add pork shabu (laughs). The mazesoba here is really delicious! It's thick and just the way I like it! With kimchi, salad vegetables, and sesame dressing, it was light and satisfying! Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the Tengyan Mazesoba for 900 yen. The broth I had imagined was much milder than I expected, with a very gentle flavor of dried sardines, bonito, and soy sauce. The noodles were firm and stretched well, accompanied by bamboo shoots, minced meat, egg yolk, bonito flakes, green onions, garlic, and shiso leaves. Mixing everything together to eat the mazesoba was truly delicious. You can help yourself to rice from the rice cooker, which pairs perfectly with the mazesoba. I visited on a Sunday at 11:50 am and was able to get in without waiting.

For lunch on this day, I went to Tengu-an near Hankyu Kamishinjo Station for errands. Since it was a bit late, I quickly purchased a meal ticket and sat at the counter. I had the popular mixed noodles. I mixed it thoroughly and took a bite of the noodles. The noodles were thick and had a good chewiness, and the sweet soy sauce dressing coated them well. The flavor of the bonito flakes really brought out the deliciousness. I got quite full, so I didn't get any rice. Thank you for the meal!
