I visited my favorite restaurant "Ajiman" for lunch today! It has been 5 years since my last visit, but I have been there at least 50 times before! The famous dishes are the "Curry Udon" and "Tempura". The restaurant has a capacity of about 50 people on the first floor with tables and around 30 people on the second floor with tatami seating. About 20 years ago, there was a hidden room at the back of the second floor that could accommodate around 20 people, but I am not sure if it still exists. This time, I was seated on the first floor. I ordered the following items (including tax): - Curry Udon 600 yen - Tempura 100 yen x 3 Wow! In celebration of their 60th anniversary, the Tempura is now 10 yen cheaper and the Curry Udon is a whopping 170 yen cheaper than 5 years ago! - Tempura 100 yen x 1 I couldn't resist and ordered an extra serving during the meal (laughs). The dishes were served promptly. Now, a brief review: - Curry Udon: The curry sauce is not too thick or too thin, with a perfect balance of richness. It's hard to describe, but it's just delicious! I always finish every drop of the curry. The toppings include beef, thin fried tofu, onions, and green onions. - Tempura: Although they are small, the shrimp tempura is crispy and succulent! The saltiness is just right and it's incredibly tasty! Ajiman is the best! And all of this for only 1,000 yen, what a great deal! I wonder when I can come back next time. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When you enter the shop, you will be greeted by the aroma of dashi. The udon is Osaka-style, with soft noodles. The dashi is delicious, of course! I drank it all the way to the end! The tempura is salty and you can even eat the shrimp tails crunchy. Due to its location, there are many foreign customers, and the staff includes foreigners as well. It's a Osaka udon shop with a diverse international atmosphere!

I visited the popular udon restaurant "Ajiman" in Senba Shinsaibashi Suji Shopping Street. The udon here is a slightly soft Osaka-style udon. I was torn between the popular "Tempura Set" and "Curry Udon" before entering, but I was drawn to the "Katsu Curry Udon" recommended by a fellow diner. It costs 800 yen. I couldn't help but feel that it was a good deal considering that even curry restaurants nowadays charge close to 1,000 yen for a dish with tonkatsu (or more). I suddenly felt a sense of nostalgia when I realized that the price had actually decreased from 850 yen during my last visit! (Curry Udon used to be 700 yen, now 600 yen!) Although price increases are common these days, it's truly remarkable to see a company lowering prices. The "Katsu Curry Udon" with hot freshly fried tonkatsu in it still maintains its delicious taste even with the price drop. In today's world, reducing prices is not an easy decision, but I will continue to support them in my own small way. Thank you for the meal!

In Shinsaibashi-suji, even north of Nagahori, there are fewer inbound tourists and the queues at popular shops are not as long. Today, I had udon for lunch at Ajiman. I arrived before 11 am when they opened, and without hesitation, I went in because it was still hot outside. The recommended dish seems to be the curry. Looking at the menu, there are options for a small portion of curry rice and noodles. I chose the small portion of udon. However, it was curry with pork cutlet, so it balanced out. The curry had a thick and smooth texture without being too heavy or overly sweet, with plenty of thinly sliced beef which was fantastic. The noodles were soft and typical of Kansai style. Even the small portion was satisfying. It's a great udon shop for everyday use. Thank you for the meal.

Around 4 o'clock in the evening, I felt hungry and asked a friend in Honmachi area for recommendations on places that are open at this time. They suggested a well-established restaurant known for their tempura and curry udon, so I decided to try it out for the first time at Umekomae store! I ordered the Katsu Curry Udon for 800 yen and Tempura for 100 yen. As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted by a delicious aroma of broth and the nostalgic atmosphere of a long-standing establishment. The Tempura arrived first - it was wrapped in Korean seaweed and filled with substantial shrimp. It was absolutely delicious! I could easily eat about five of them! Next came the Katsu Curry Udon, a generous bowl of curry udon topped with a crispy pork cutlet for 800 yen. It was so tasty! The spiciness of the curry made it irresistible, and I couldn't stop eating. I definitely want to come back to try other udon dishes!

This is my second visit. Today is very hot, so I ordered cold udon and onigiri. I was surprised to find egg tofu on top of the cold udon. The noodles did not become too hard even when cold, and they were delicious. The onigiri was bigger than I imagined, and I was satisfied.

On a sunny Sunday during lunchtime, with a temperature of 35℃, I decided to have lunch at an arcade where the sun wouldn't be shining directly. When I entered the restaurant, I saw that it was full, but then I realized they had a second floor. I was seated in a tatami room. I ordered the "Tempura Bowl for 780 yen", which came with 3 shrimp tempura, eggplant tempura, and green pepper tempura. It was a great deal to have 3 shrimp tempura at that price. The taste was excellent as always. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a typical Osaka-style restaurant with the three qualities of "fast, delicious, and cheap!" There were more than 10 people lined up on a weekday afternoon, but we were able to get in right away and our order came out in just 2 minutes. The tempura was easy to order as a single item, and we enjoyed the famous curry udon with its soft noodles and flavorful curry soup. I hope this restaurant continues to stay the same.

Osaka Metro, Honmachi Station is a 2.3-minute walk away. The office and shopping street are in a great location, and the customer traffic is amazing. Even though I arrived around 2 p.m., it was almost full during lunchtime! I remember there used to be "Ajiman" in Hirakata, where they also served tempura rice balls. I wanted to try their famous tempura rice balls, but I was instantly drawn to the curry udon. The Tonkatsu Curry Udon (tax included, 800 yen) was crispy and easy to chew, with a rich curry flavor. The crispy texture and flavorful broth made it delicious. The curry had green onions, onions, beef, and fried tofu. The spiciness was mild, closer to medium, and the noodles were thick with a good texture. There were many staff members, and their teamwork was impressive. It's a crowded but reassuring place to sit. The portion size was satisfying for the price.

I visited a udon and soba restaurant called "Ajiman" around 3:00 pm on a holiday in July 2023. Located about a 5-minute walk from Honmachi Station on the subway, the restaurant was about half full. The cozy interior had a nostalgic atmosphere typical of a diner in Osaka's downtown area. I sat alone at a table, looked at the menu for a while, and then ordered the "Tempura Rice Bowl (small)" for ¥680. After waiting for about 7-8 minutes, the food was served. The udon, with mountain vegetables, tempura bits, and green onions, came with two tempura pieces, a side dish, and pickles. I started with the udon, which had a Kansai-style broth with a nice sweetness and depth of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the decent amount of ingredients in the udon. The side dish consisted of chicken, daikon radish, carrots, and fried items cooked in a slightly strong-flavored sake sauce. It had a home-cooked taste typical of a diner. The mini-sized tempura rice bowl had a nice combination of seaweed and shrimp tempura. The delicious pairing of tempura and udon broth made it seem like I could eat endless amounts. I enjoyed the crispy texture of the pickles while savoring the tempura and udon. I added some shichimi pepper from the table to the udon for an extra kick. The tempura rice bowl had just the right amount of food - not too much, not too little. "Ajiman" offers a satisfying udon rice bowl at a great value in the calm atmosphere of Osaka's downtown. The curry udon also looked delicious, so I look forward to trying that next time.

I went to a long-established udon restaurant located in a shopping street just a 5-minute walk from Honmachi Station. This time, I ordered the Tempura Set Small, which includes 2 pieces of tempura and udon for 680 yen. It's really cheap and delicious! First, I enjoyed the udon with flavorful broth. Then, I dipped the remaining broth with the 2 pieces of tempura to make a delicious soup. Highly recommend trying it this way! ❤️

On Sunday around 2pm, there were several groups waiting in line. The wait time was about 15 minutes, but once we were seated, the service was surprisingly high-speed. The operation was excellent. The udon noodles were delicious, with a texture that was light and tasty. The interior of the restaurant had a Showa era vibe, which was nice.

It was past 2 PM on a weekday, yet the restaurant was full and I was surprised to be asked to share a table. There were some inbound tourists, but most of the customers seemed to be locals or people on their lunch break. I quickly ordered a beef udon and rice ball set. The food arrived in just about 2 minutes. Those who ordered fried items had to wait longer, so it's better to go for non-fried options if you're in a hurry. I slurped the piping hot broth from the large bowl, enjoying the soft udon noodles and Japanese beef. It was delicious. This udon dish truly captures the essence of Osaka, with its perfect combination of broth and noodles. While Sanuki udon is also good, for Osaka locals, this udon is the best. By 2:30 PM, more than half of the staff said their goodbyes and left. It seems like they are really busy until around this time. What an amazing restaurant. I will definitely go back again.

I visited the popular restaurant "Ajiman" in the Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street in Honmachi for lunch. I arrived around 3 PM to avoid the usual crowds. I ordered the "Katsu Tamago-ni set meal: 880 yen". The dish arrived in about 5 minutes. It consisted of tonkatsu topped with a runny egg over rice, with separate mini udon and pickles on the side. The tonkatsu had a peppery flavor and the sweet and savory broth mixed with the fluffy egg was delicious. The rice was very tasty and the udon was also good. I will definitely come back to try other dishes when I have the chance!

Visited on Friday around 1:00 PM. The restaurant was almost full and I had to share a table with others. The value for money was great with the Tempura Rice Bowl Set (4 pieces) for 880 yen. It came with warm udon noodles with mountain vegetables, tempura crumbs, and green onions, along with tempura, a small side dish, and pickles. The smooth and soft noodles paired perfectly with the Kansai-style broth. The tempura had just the right amount of saltiness and was delicious. I plan to try the curry udon next time. Thank you for the meal.

This is my second visit in 5 years. I visited around 11:30 on a Sunday and the restaurant was crowded. I was seated in a tatami room at the back of the second floor. I chose the Tempura and Soba set meal for 680 yen (tax included). The broth was rich and delicious, and the tempura was a good size and tasty. Good taste and good value for money. By the time I finished eating and left the restaurant, there were many customers waiting outside. I was surprised to see so many foreign customers.

After finishing a meeting in Honmachi area, I was walking through the Shinsaibashi shopping street wondering what to eat, when I came across a sign that caught my eye. They don't really have tenmusu (tempura rice ball) in Kansai, right? At least I've never seen it before. So, feeling like having tenmusu, I immediately entered the restaurant. There was a wait of about 3 groups, but we were seated within 10 minutes and ordered the tenmusu set meal. It comes with 4 pieces of tenmusu for 880 yen, which seems pretty cheap, right? haha The food arrived in about 10 minutes. First, I tried the udon. It has mountain vegetables and tempura crumbs on top, with a rich broth. The udon has a chewy and smooth texture. The tenmusu has a strong saltiness to the shrimp, and the nori seaweed adds just the right amount of flavor to the rice. It was quite delicious. After finishing everything, I was full and very satisfied. There are many other menu items that caught my eye, so I'll have to revisit for sure. haha Thank you for the meal.

The Katsudon set meal was clearly not made with care when it was served. The soba was definitely a no-go. The dish was made sloppily and the seasoning was not great, so I can't even say it was delicious. However, surprisingly, the Katsudon itself was pretty good. The size of the pork cutlet was satisfying. In the end, I mixed everything together and turned it into a Katsudon rice bowl. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Ajiman for the first time in a while. They are currently offering a ¥100 discount on their katsudon as part of their 60th-anniversary service. Previously, udon was also included in the promotion, but now it seems to be only for katsudon. Today, I ordered the katsudon set meal. The slightly sweet udon broth with bonito flavor was excellent as always. The rice was delicious, and the katsudon was tasty. The pickled vegetables were also generously served, and I left completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

During the ongoing 60th-anniversary campaign, popular menu items were discounted by 100 yen. At lunchtime on a weekday, I felt like having tempura and decided to visit the restaurant. There was a line of about 10 people, but I was able to enter in about 10 minutes. I chose the tempura set meal. I ordered four pieces of tempura, but ended up eating three as one was taken by my companion. The traditional udon noodles had a comforting and gentle taste. My companion ordered the tempura rice bowl and tempura set meal, and both of us were very satisfied and finished our meals quickly. The retro atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly staff, especially the older ladies, who came to refill our tea multiple times, made it a lively and bustling place. It was a delicious meal!

The campaign that started in January is still ongoing (lol) I don't know how long it will last. At one point, the prices of the Tenmusu set meal at Menya Sato seemed outrageous, but now it seems to have settled down. I used to often eat the Katsu Curry Don ⭐︎ during the campaign period, it was 100 yen off, priced at 750 yen!! There was a time when the rice portion was ridiculously small or the tonkatsu was mini-sized, and they seemed to be lost, but on this day, there was a proper portion^ ^ The curry with rich broth and freshly fried tonkatsu is a perfect match for rice. The meat was also plentiful, making it a great deal⭐︎ It was delicious♪♪ Thank you for the meal^ ^
