I visited a restaurant in Osaka that specializes in Nepalese cuisine but also offers a variety of ethnic dishes. Despite being located in a questionable area, the restaurant had a unique atmosphere. I ordered a Laos beer, horse meat kachila, crispy fried pork skin, a special soda, buttermilk, and a dish called tehari made with Tajima beef. The horse meat kachila was a must-try with its Nepalese spices, while the crispy fried pork skin was crunchy and flavorful. The Tehari, a Bangladeshi dish with Tajima beef, was served with various accompaniments like lentil soup, yogurt, and mashed sweet potatoes. Mixing everything together with lime and green chili provided a burst of flavors. Overall, the food was delicious and the experience was memorable.

I looked at the map and thought this area is right in the middle. But since I was already there, I decided to visit the restaurant. I ordered the Dal Bhat Special, which came with dal, curry, and various side dishes. The restaurant had a unique atmosphere inside and out, and I was prepared for strong flavors, but the chef and staff were friendly Japanese people, and the food was slightly localized for Japanese tastes. It was easy to eat and delicious. I wanted to go to Yattsu Sen, my recent favorite, but it turns out they are closed on Sundays. So, I left feeling a bit disappointed.

"Asian Kitchen Cafe Hyakufuku" @ Kujo / Osaka (1-3-12 Kujo, Nishi-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) "Quick Osaka Expedition by Toyama & Tokyo Team" ~ Day 1 (First Stop) ~ Two members from Toyama and two from Tokyo embark on a fun and chaotic spice expedition to Osaka. I joined in the middle of the day, arriving in Osaka by Shinkansen in the evening. The first stop was at "Asian Kitchen Cafe Hyakufuku." I had experienced their delicious food at events in Tokyo before, so I was excited to finally visit their actual store. Surprisingly, the area where Hyakufuku is located in Kujo turned out to be a "flower town (red-light district)." I was taken aback, thinking, "It's not just Tobita Shinchi..." The unique and retro atmosphere of the area made me feel uneasy. However, I found solace in the Asian neon sign that stood out in the corner and entered the restaurant. The menu consisted of Nepalese and Asian dishes in a simple layout. ◼️ A la carte dishes ★ "Kaja Set" (500 yen) - Eggplant, scallops, bitter melon ★ "Coriander Water Dumplings" (4 pieces/350 yen) ★ "Horse Meat Kachira" (580 yen) ★ "Lamb Skewers" (4 pieces/1,200 yen) ★ "Dal Bhat" (900 yen) ◼️ Alcohol ⭐ "Thai Shochu Highball" (480 yen) From the first "Kaja Set," I was impressed by the exquisite balance of salt, oil, and spices. Mixing it with chiura and bringing it to my mouth was a delightful experience with an interesting texture, perfect for drinking. It gave me a burst of energy in the humid and tiring weather (high awakening). The following dishes were also excellent choices for drinking. And the prices were surprisingly low, making me feel embarrassed. Before I knew it, the restaurant was full. Of course, it's no wonder. The Dal Bhat we ordered to finish was incredibly delicious and had a generous portion, which we shared and devoured together. Although our stomachs still had room, it was time for the next reservation, so we settled the bill. This restaurant also serves amazing Asian noodle dishes like Kaomangai and Khao Soi at "Ramenya Hyakufuku" on certain days of the month. It's a must-visit on the next Kansai expedition. Thank you for the delicious meal. #tomyamfoodtour2023 #No_Spice_No_Life2023 #KansaiQuickExpedition #Asian_Kitchen_Cafe_Hyakufuku #SpiceDrinking #NepaleseCuisine #AsianCuisine #SeductiveKillerDishes #LittleAsiaInTheRedLightDistrict #KansaiCurry #OsakaCurry #WantToConnectWithSpiceLovers #WantToConnectWithCurryLovers #TheHappinessOfLifeIsDeterminedByTheNumberOfCheers #CURRYMemoirs108 #yummyfile2023-122"

Had lunch at Hyakufuku. That day, Hyakufuku was serving noodles. I arrived before opening time due to it being the weekend. Despite not being a fan of cold noodles, I ended up ordering the "Yam soba" because of the heat. The colorful Yam soba looked tempting. After taking a bite, I thought it might be too much for me. However, the sauce served with it was excellent. Even if you're not a fan of cold noodles, you can easily slurp them up. The refreshing spiciness complemented the dish well. It was packed with plenty of vegetables and mushrooms. My companion had the Khao Soi, which was enjoyable even in the summer heat. Highly recommended.

When I mentioned that I had lived in Thailand during my childhood, my friend C recommended a curry restaurant to me. I checked on Tabelog and found out that the restaurant, "Asian kitchen cafe Momofuku," had won the Gold Award in the "Curry Awards" in 2021 and was selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in 2022. The restaurant is located just a few minutes from Osaka's Nishi-Kujo Station, near the historic red-light district called "Matsushima Yuukaku." The area still has 104 "restaurants" within its approximately 8,000 square meter premises. The restaurant has a cute and cozy atmosphere, with decorations reminiscent of a market in Bangkok. The menu features popular dishes like Pad Pong Curry and Nepalese set meals, as well as original international cuisine. On a hot day, I tried the refreshing and spicy Thai-style cold mixed noodle dish, while my companion had the signature Pad Pong Curry. Both dishes were visually appealing and true to authentic Thai street food. The inclusion of string beans and coriander, essential in Thai cuisine, was a delightful touch. It was my first time trying cold Pad Thai, and I enjoyed the combination of flavors such as tomatoes, crab claws, wood ear mushrooms, coriander, lemongrass, and spice sauce. The ability to adjust the spiciness by mixing the sauce was a nice touch. It felt significant to enjoy such a meal in this setting. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited the restaurant on a weekday evening around 6:30 pm. There were a few groups of customers inside, and luckily I was able to be seated without waiting. I ordered the Yum soba, a Thai-style cold mixed soba dish from the June menu. It was described as spicy, but the spiciness was not overpowering, and it was relatively refreshing and delicious.

I ordered the menu ☆ Khao Man Gai for 850 yen (tax included). I arrived around 12 o'clock and was able to enter without waiting, but when I left the restaurant, there were about 3 groups waiting in line. Some customers ordered Khao Soi (1,000 yen) and also ordered a Mini Khao Man Gai (380 yen). Thank you for the meal! Thank you, Bai Fukusama!

Dalbert's 900 yen chicken curry and dal. The side dishes include potato tarkari, saag, and achaar. And rice. While overshadowed by the Dalbert Special, this plate was very satisfying. The chicken curry was delicious, with a nice mix of chunky chicken curry and comforting dal. Mixing in all the side dishes was a great idea, especially the tasty potatoes. With generous portions of rice and curry, it's quite a filling meal! Overall, the spiciness was on the milder side, so spice lovers may want to add some extra heat. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch is at Hyakufuku, an Asian top 100 restaurant located right in the middle of the suspicious-looking neighborhood of Kujyo. You might be surprised to find a dining place in such a location! The interior of the restaurant was quite crowded, but we managed to snag a seat just in time. I ordered the Eel Pappong Curry, while my partner went for the Yam Soba. As for my Pappong Curry, it came with curry, rice, and soup served in separate dishes. The curry was very mild with not much spiciness, but it had plenty of eel and a smooth eggy flavor, making it very easy to eat. The Jasmine rice was fragrant, and the chicken-based soup had a gentle taste. It might not be spicy enough for those seeking a kick, but it was a delicious curry that would appeal to everyone. On the other hand, my partner's Yam Soba was also quite spicy, like a cold soba dish, with just the right amount of heat that made us break a little sweat, providing a refreshing sensation perfect for the scorching summer. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

There is a Nepalese restaurant on Kujyo Street! It was a bit crowded during the weekday lunchtime, but we were seated quickly. We ordered Khao Man Gai and Khao Soi. The Khao Man Gai had more rice than it looked and filled us up, but it was delicious so we finished it all! The Khao Soi was a smooth curry noodle dish that I thought was easy for anyone to eat!

Last time I visited the branch of "Menya Hyakufuku", but this time I visited the main store. The limited menu item, the Dalbert of the Taru tribe, was sold out, so I ordered the Dalbert Special instead. They kindly used duck meat, which is limited to the curry roux. The taste was excellent, with a wonderful harmony of various spices and ingredients mixed together. Delicious! I had some curry left, so I got a rice refill. It was quite a generous portion and I was stuffed. The price was a bit high, but I was satisfied.

The coconut milk and lemongrass flavor of the soup was very impressive. The noodles looked hand-made and were thick. I ordered the chicken (gai) this time. There were two pieces of tender chicken in the soup. It had a sweetness from the coconut milk and of course, it was spicy too. However, the spiciness was at a level where it was still enjoyable. It also came with cilantro. Unfortunately, they were sold out of kao man gai this time, so I would like to try it next time as a revenge.

On this day, I had a meal where I could enjoy both Northern Thai and Southern Thai cuisine. The rice was decorated with flowers from the legume family, colorful fruits, and vegetables. By pouring sauce and curry with water buffalo and chicken over it, the fruit salad rice transformed into a delicious dish. Each bite offers different flavors. It was amazing at Happy Fortune restaurant!

Today is Noodle House Hyakufuku Day♪ I arrived before opening to get in for the first round. 10 minutes before opening, there were already 6 groups waiting. The line continued to grow afterwards. Since the seating is limited, I recommend coming early on weekends. I ordered the Khao Soi Kung (Shrimp) for 1200 yen. My companion ordered the Khao Soi Gai (Chicken) for 1000 yen. On this day, they also offered Khao Man Gai for 850 yen. You can enjoy crispy noodles and slightly thick flat noodles. The moderate spiciness and sweetness of coconut stimulate the appetite. You can add chopped purple onions or squeeze lime for flavor variation. It's so delicious that you might want to order extra rice♪ Since the taste differs between shrimp and chicken, it's worth trying both.

Arrived around 12:10 on a Sunday. Visited Dokkiri Matsushima Shinchi for the first time and parked at the coin parking across the street. Waited outside alone on a rainy Sunday afternoon, observing Matsushima Shinchi in the rain with two others under a roof. Made eye contact with Yarite◯◯◯. First time at Hyakufuku, unsure what to order. Seems to open at 12 o'clock, with a few people leaving after about 10 minutes. Once inside, saw the "today's menu" sign. No need to worry. Ordered Khao Soi (Tajima beef tendon), Khao Soi (shrimp), and Khao Man Gai, which arrived fairly quickly. The Khao Soi had a good balance of fried and boiled noodles, with Tajima beef tendon, very good. Adding onions and lime for flavor variation. Overall, a sweet taste. After finishing the soup, started to sweat. A very fine Asian experience!

Khao Soi Kun (Shrimp) - Shrimp is a first for me. The sweetness of coconut and the spiced broth made from shrimp heads. Is the soup meant to be a drink? The noodles are both crispy and chewy. Midway through, squeeze some lime over the onions for a change in flavor. This noodle dish is irresistible. Eating it makes you feel happy.

I visited "Asian Kitchen Cafe Hyakufuku" in Osaka, Kujo for the first time in six months. The restaurant is small and quickly fills up, so when I arrived 30 minutes before lunch opening, there were already two people waiting in line, one of whom was a foreigner enjoying a Singha beer given by the staff while waiting outside. Today's lunch menu changes daily, which is exciting. Last time, I had Kaoyam, a Thai mixed rice dish, and today there were different options to choose from. I ordered and the food arrived in about 10 minutes. Today's lunch was the Bangla set meal for 1,300 yen, with bone-in mutton and spinach curry as the main dish. I also ordered the Beer Lao, a rare find priced at 600 yen for a small bottle. The lentil soup was like a creamy potage, and the bone-in mutton curry was tender and not too spicy. The restaurant was almost full as soon as it opened, with a relaxed layout. It was delicious! I asked for a knife to cut the mutton, and they kindly lent me a mini knife since there were no knives in the cutlery set. The Beer Lao was also delicious, and I left very satisfied. If you enjoy Asian cuisine from various Southeast Asian and South Asian countries, I highly recommend this place. Thank you for the meal.

There is a coin parking nearby, and the parking fee is quite reasonable compared to Umeda and Namba, making it easy to visit by car! The Asian-style atmosphere is nice, with incense burning in the restroom creating a pleasant scent. I ordered the "Bangla set meal" for ¥1300! The curry with plenty of bone-in meat has a well-balanced spice flavor and is incredibly delicious! The warm dal soup is also delicious! I definitely want to visit this restaurant again! It was so delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Ninejo's Asian kitchen cafe Hyakufuku. It's a restaurant that caught my attention in a curry magazine. There were seats available. I ordered the Dalbert Special with two types (1,700 yen) and it was ready in 6 minutes. There were chicken and duck options. The chicken was a thin and spicy curry that went well with rice. The chunks of chicken were delicious! The duck curry was thick and rich with a good amount of fat, and the duck had a nice texture. There were 9 side dishes available, ranging from light Japanese-style dishes to rich and spicy vegetables, as well as sweet dishes made with potatoes. The dal was sweet and spicy. Despite the location being a bit intimidating, there were many female customers and it was a fun place. The total bill was 1,700 yen, but when I paid with PayPay, it only cost 1,700 yen, which made me laugh. 😄

Asian Kitchen Cafe Hyakufuku is located a 5-7 minute walk from Kujo Station. This popular restaurant in the deep neighborhood of Matsushima Shinchi in Kujo has been selected as one of the top 100 Asian and Ethnic restaurants in the west in 2022. They may have irregular business hours due to overseas trips or changing menus, so it's recommended to check their Instagram before visiting. I tried their Beef Tendon Khao Soi, a Chiang Mai specialty curry noodle dish made with a combination of crispy fried noodles and boiled noodles. The soup had a spicy kick from the spices, a coconut fragrance, and a hint of cilantro, with a slightly sweet taste followed by spiciness. It paired perfectly with the noodles and beef tendons. You can adjust the flavor with onions and lime, making it a dish even for those who are not fans of ethnic cuisine. Be sure to visit and try it out. Thank you for the meal!

This is a review of Hyakufuku at night. I went aiming for the Bangla set meal, but it was sold out. However, I still wanted to try something, so I had the Thai coriander dumplings, egg salad with fried egg, and Nepalese duck marinated in spices. The coriander dumplings were amazing! You can choose from 2 pieces or 4 pieces, and 4 pieces were just right. The soup was delicious. If you like coriander, you will love it. The fried egg salad had a nice sweetness with a kick of spiciness at the end. I really liked the egg salad. The marinated duck with spices had fluffy basmati rice and flavorful duck. It was fantastic! The night was great too!
