The taste, service, atmosphere, and cost performance of this lovely restaurant are all excellent. I made a reservation at the main store on a weekday night, but it was full. However, they checked for availability at a new store and I was able to make a reservation there instead. On the day of my visit, I got lost and ended up at the main store, but they kindly guided me to the new location. It was a cold day with light snow falling, so I was happy to see a hot carpet at my feet.
We ordered the Whale Shabu-Shabu Hot Pot Course with a variety of whale sashimi. The appetizer was whale tongue with ponzu sauce, which had a refreshing taste and a crunchy texture. The whale sashimi platter included four types: red meat, whale tongue, blubber, and subcutaneous fat. Each had a unique texture and flavor, with the blubber being particularly rich and creamy.
We also had a basket of appetizers instead of the advertised oden, which included a variety of delicious dishes like horse meat, simmered octopus, and egg salad with shrimp and broccoli. The whale shabu-shabu hot pot was simple yet delicious, with whale meat, watercress, tofu, and wheat gluten.
For dessert, we had a rich matcha ice cream that helped cleanse the palate. The restaurant had a casual and fun atmosphere with whale motifs throughout. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the overall experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Osaka.

I met up with friends from my university days for a sudden dinner gathering, and it was my first visit in a while. I was reminded once again that this restaurant is versatile, suitable for entertaining clients, dining with friends, or going on a date. There are many dishes that are hard to find outside of Osaka, so I recommend it to those who are not from Osaka! Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is my favorite restaurant, but due to the decrease in opportunities to go out to eat in the new area because of COVID-19, it has been a while since my last visit. On this day, I had a full course meal. Starting with the appetizers, there were three kinds of delicacies followed by sashimi. The freshness was truly remarkable. Then came the korono oden and Arima-ni. The main dish was a steak followed by a crispy dish. The dashi here is really delicious! When eating watercress and whale together, the crunchy texture and the umami of the oil are irresistible. For the finale, you can choose between Miwa udon and zosui, but of course, I had both. It was amazing.

My memory of eating whale meat at a restaurant dates back about 25 years to a certain place in Shibuya. When I was in elementary school, we even had fried whale meat for school lunch, and I loved miso soup at home (although sometimes I found rubbery bits in it). This restaurant had three table seats (sunken kotatsu style) and four counter seats, making it cozy. The appetizers and sashimi platter were different from the whale meat I had eaten before, and I was excited. The highlight was the steak, my first ever. It was a refined meat with no strong flavor but a deep taste. The hot pot, udon, and porridge at the end all paired well with the whale broth (slightly sweet), allowing me to enjoy whale meat until the end. The staff, including two experienced part-timers, provided excellent service, making my experience enjoyable until the end. I highly recommend it to young people who have never tried whale meat before or for business entertainment purposes.

Last time when I had whale, I saw a menu with "softshell turtle course" and it caught my interest. I made a reservation for the softshell turtle course at the counter and visited. The place was full, and they were happy about it. We started with simmered octopus and white wine. It was soft and had a gentle sweetness, making me crave for more. The sashimi had no fishy smell, and the soy sauce with ginger was perfect. The crispy fried chicken was so tasty, it went well with the wine. The raw liver with sake was intense, it made my body warm up instantly. The softshell turtle with ponzu sauce was collagen-rich, and I loved it. The stir-fried intestines with ginger was a first for me, and I ended up ordering sake to go with it. The round hot pot had a light seasoning, I could eat as much as I wanted. I almost drank all the broth, it was that good. The broth soup with rice was delicious as expected. I feel so full and energized now. Maybe next time I'll try the tilefish hot pot. Thank you for the feast.

Recently... I was delighted to find a restaurant where I could enjoy whale cuisine. I made a reservation for this course through One Michelin Star and visited the restaurant. The whale sashimi had a beautiful color. I like to eat it with plenty of ginger soy sauce. The tempura was a bit thick on the coating. The oden had a light flavor with konjac and chirashi in it. The main dish was whale shabu-shabu hot pot. They first serve it as shabu-shabu and then divide it for you. The rare red meat and crispy watercress were delicious. I prefer the kamoniku une-suzu (*^-^)♪ The finale was udon, which was thin and absorbed the broth perfectly... It was amazing. I was very satisfied. I noticed they also had a softshell turtle course on the menu, so I would like to come back next time to try that.

The clear broth of the crispy hot pot was incredibly delicious! The light dashi, watercress, and whale combination was excellent, and I could keep eating it forever. The customer service at the restaurant was also great, and I had a very happy time there.

A restaurant with delicious dashi broth. We enjoyed a platter of 4 types of whale sashimi, oden, Harihari hot pot, additional whale dish, and corn tempura. We finished with Sanrin hand-pulled fine udon and Harihari hot pot porridge!

This is the second branch of a popular whale cuisine restaurant on this site. It is located close to the main store in Shinchi. The whale sashimi is decent. The whale steak is not bad, but it leaves a slightly unusual taste in the mouth. The spicy whale hot pot is quite tasty. However, honestly, the broth seems to outshine the whale meat. The finishing udon noodles are excellent, and it seems like this restaurant is highly rated for its superb broth. The selection of alcoholic beverages is limited and slightly pricey. It's a good place to casually enjoy whale cuisine, but whether the content justifies the price is debatable.

The whale specialty store uses finely textured meat. The Harihari hot pot has a delicious broth, and the whale skin slowly releases a good flavor, gradually transforming the light broth into a rich one. The side menu is also extensive, and my recommendation is the whale cutlet. Personal preference varies, but Hyakuhira (whale hormone) is a must for me. I, who had not eaten much whale before, came to like whale here.

The course in the middle of the table. We had a bottle of shochu and enjoyed some drinks, costing just over 10,000 yen per person. Although I am from Kansai, I don't usually eat whale meat. However, this course was surprisingly delicious and changed my perception of whale meat. The hot pot broth was particularly tasty, and the whale tempura we ordered as an extra dish was excellent. It was a nice surprise to experience hospitality from a region where whale meat is not commonly consumed. The only downside was that some of the sashimi was not fully thawed.
