Il Giottoone di Piu, an Italian restaurant located in the Grand Front North Building, a 5-7 minute walk from Osaka Station, is known for its high-class atmosphere and authentic Italian cuisine. It is quite popular and has even been selected in the top 5000 on Tabelog. The restaurant offers private rooms in the back, making it a great choice for special occasions like anniversaries. I ordered the Pranzo A lunch menu this time. The appetizers and pasta, made with seasonal ingredients such as bream and snow crab, were enhanced by various condiments like daikon shaved ice, karasumi, sansho pepper, and yuzu, bringing out the deliciousness of the ingredients. The main dish of Awaji chicken was very tender and had a great texture, making it a satisfying meal. If you want to enjoy a course lunch in Umeda, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

IL GHIOTTONE di piu @ Osaka Umeda (Ohfukamachi, Kita-ku, Osaka)
○ Selected as one of the top 100 Italian restaurants in the west in 2021
○ Menu A ¥4389
Larus Spumante Brut (Sparkling) ¥924
Personal rating: ★4.1
Located in Umeda, Osaka, IL GHIOTTONE is a branch of the original store in Kyoto, which is also recognized as one of the top 100 Italian restaurants. I made a reservation in advance and visited with one other person on a Sunday at 11:00. We started with a toast with sparkling wine and began the course.
- Octopus-like snack?! (1st picture)
A snack resembling takoyaki made by frying potatoes mixed with bamboo charcoal. A fun amuse-bouche with an Osaka twist. This was followed by bread served in a wooden box (2nd picture), which had a built-in heat retention function, keeping the bread warm and delightful. The bread itself had a fragrant and delicious wheat flavor.
- Mackerel, steamed rice, red shiso (3rd picture)
Lightly seared mackerel served with rice seasoned with red shiso. The seared mackerel was full of umami, and the acidity of the red shiso paired well with it.
- Tagliatelle, prosciutto, mushrooms (4th picture)
Tagliatelle pasta in a cream sauce with mushrooms and prosciutto. The umami of the mushrooms and the saltiness of the prosciutto complemented each other perfectly.
- Mochi pork, butternut squash, eggplant, sweet long red pepper (5th picture)
A main dish where you can enjoy the umami of mochi pork and the sweetness of the vegetables. The flavor was not overly complex, but it highlighted the taste of the mochi pork, which was delicious. The mustard accompaniment was a good match.
- Dessert of the day (6th picture)
A luxurious lineup of two cakes, gelato, and panna cotta. Each item was not particularly surprising, but it was enjoyable until the end.
- After-meal drinks (7th picture)
Chose coffee over tea. The cups were unique and interesting. Finally, we were served vegetable chips, which had been recently released (10th picture).
For a little over ¥4000, we enjoyed such a quantity and quality of food near Osaka Station. It was fantastic! I would definitely revisit for dinner and even consider visiting the original store in Kyoto. A great choice for a nice lunch around Osaka Station!

The staff seemed inexperienced. Even when I ordered extra bread, it took forever to arrive. By the way, why is there an additional charge of about 3000 yen for carbonara? Is it for truffles? When the bread finally came, it was placed on a plate instead of in the warm stone case they were heating it in. So, do we really need that case? Is it worth the price? They claim to be innovative, but it feels a bit fake. There were many customers, but I couldn't help but think there must be a more reasonably priced and casual yet delicious place out there. The food was tasty though. Maybe the high rent is a factor. Also, personally, I wish they would stop using name tags.

Italian restaurant located in the north building of Grand Front Osaka. It has a cozy atmosphere that makes you forget you are in Umeda. I went for lunch and the menu changes daily, offering a surprise course each time. On this day, the highest course included "ayu charcoal," a fish dish wrapped in charcoal batter, which was a unique and delicious specialty of the chef. The appetizer featured bonito and Kyoto vegetables, while the first dish was ayu, reminiscent of Kyoto's riverside dining. The pasta (linguine) was excellent, with shrimp Genovese sauce that was incredibly tasty. The risotto was served with a chunk of cheese in each portion. The main dish was roasted lamb with a variety of roasted vegetables, creating an Italian dish with a Kyoto touch. For dessert, a tower of four items was served, reminiscent of an afternoon tea. The generous portion left me feeling satisfied. The service was warm and friendly, making it a wonderful Italian dining experience.

I visited for an important business meeting. What I felt at this high-end restaurant in Osaka is that they focus on combining both Japanese and Western elements, but there is a lack of substance. This is not unique to Osaka, as Kyoto has its unique atmosphere advantage, and Kobe has its cost-performance advantage. Despite the prices at high-end restaurants in Osaka being similar to those in Tokyo, I can't help but feel that they lack substance. Of course, Tokyo has a much larger economy, providing more choices and a stronger natural selection process that sets it apart from any other place in Japan. I may not have much experience dining in Kyoto or Osaka, but I have yet to find a restaurant that I truly enjoy. Most high-end restaurants in Osaka that I have visited for work leave me feeling dissatisfied, and I imagine I would be even more upset if I visited them for personal reasons. The particular restaurant I visited, which seems to be a sister or branch of a famous restaurant in Kyoto, had notably poor service that did not meet the standards of a high-end establishment. I was particularly disappointed with the service. The staff seemed inexperienced in dining at high-end restaurants themselves. While the quality of ingredients at high-end restaurants in Kyoto may be worth more than the price, the service is often excellent, making them popular choices. The dish I ordered, the White Princess Shrimp and Avocado Genovese, was reasonably tasty but not exceptional. The 12,000 yen course did not justify the quality of the ingredients, and the overall experience did not feel like it was worth the price. The interior did not give off the impression of being lavishly designed, but it was not cheap either. Trying to fit a high-end restaurant into a narrow, elongated space is a challenge. Despite requesting a private room and there being no other customers, I was seated at a table instead. It was the day before a typhoon was due to hit, which puzzled me. I understand the reasons from a business perspective, but I won't elaborate here. Overall, the lack of awareness in customer service left a bad taste in my mouth, even for a business visit. I left the restaurant feeling quite unhappy. Is there a way to improve this situation?

Il Giotto ne in Kyoto has a chain of stores. The service, including customer service, explanations, and guidance, is at a basic level like a college student working at a family restaurant, but the food was surprisingly good. The pasta, in particular, was delicious. It seems like the kitchen is supervised properly, but they may need to pay more attention to the service part. It might be a good idea to have a service manager in place at this price range. There is a lot of condensation from the air conditioning, causing water droplets to constantly fall. It seems to be a problem with the facility's air conditioning system, but with this issue, they cannot be considered a high-end restaurant.

I visited with a friend on Friday evening. Visit: Friday 18:30~ Number of people: 2 people. It was a Friday night, but there was only one group in the restaurant. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but the atmosphere is quiet and good! All the menu items were delicious, but the meat was particularly delicious! And it wasn't the beef in the photo, but the lamb that my friend ordered was juicy and delicious without any unpleasant smell. The atmosphere and clientele are good, making it recommended for anniversaries or dates!

It's a very cozy restaurant where you can enjoy a meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Even though it's lunch, you can take your time over a 2-hour period, which is wonderful. However, the dishes were slightly different from my taste in terms of ingredients, seasoning, and cooking. I will try visiting the main branch next time, hoping for more originality and uniqueness in the cuisine.

- The restaurant has a resort-like open atmosphere
- The menu has an innovative twist with a touch of classic
- The service time is very long, which can be a downside for some as waiting for 2 hours and 40 minutes is longer than usual, considering the portion size

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while, but it was always fully booked. Finally, I got to visit after a long time. Located right in the heart of Umeda, the atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a lunch with friends. The food was not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious. As someone who enjoys trying different foods, I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the dishes. The staff members were all very friendly and we had a great time. Thank you so much! ✨

I wanted to visit the main store in Kyoto but couldn't make it happen. I found out that there was a branch in Osaka and decided to visit. I had trouble finding the entrance and got a bit frustrated. It turned out that I needed to push the door to open it. I thought I was in the wrong place at first and looked around, but couldn't find it. When I returned, a staff member came to help me. It would have been better if the staff inside had noticed me from the beginning. I ordered the PRANZO A course for 5197 yen, excluding the service charge. I also ordered sparkling wine for 980 yen. Please refer to the photo for the course contents. Every dish was incredibly delicious. Before the appetizer, breadsticks and baguettes were served. The baby corn wrapped in prosciutto had the perfect saltiness. The bonito had a good balance of flavors with the surrounding vegetables. The tagliolini had a nice texture with the firefly squid. The pork was substantial and satisfying. (It took a while to arrive, and I was surprised that dessert came first. Awkward smile) The desserts included pistachio ice cream (accompanied by finely sliced chocolate), and pudding, among others. For drinks, I could choose from espresso, coffee, tea, and herbal tea. I would love to come back again! Truly felt the quality of Giottone. I haven't been to the main store, but still. Awkward smile Thank you for the delicious meal!

Dinner at Cena A in May for 6,500 yen. It had been a while since my last visit ☺︎ˎˊ˗ My favorite in their "slightly burnt" series! The bread comes in a warm wooden box. Each dish comes in just the right amount and has a slightly stronger flavor, which I like! It's nice to be able to try different desserts at the end. This is my favorite restaurant ᐡ⸝⸝> ·̫ <⸝⸝ᐡ

Compared to the Kyoto branch, this place is too casual and a bit disappointing... The interior and tables feel cheap... The food is average, and the service is lacking - even when our glasses were empty, no one came to refill our wine, leaving us feeling neglected... I was looking forward to visiting, but it was quite disappointing in many aspects.

[Accessibility] Booked through Tabelog reservation. [Taste & Atmosphere] Taste ★3.3, Service ★3.2, Atmosphere ★3.9. There was no explanation in advance on how to eat the dishes (such as not being able to eat the green skin of the appetizer) or on how to use the cutlery for the next dish (you have to take it out from the drawer yourself). This caused some confusion. The atmosphere is nice, so it seems like a good place for a casual lunch with close friends.

I had a 5000 yen course meal with two appetizers, pasta, and a main dish. The appetizers were also quite filling and delicious, making it a very satisfying lunch. Even though the most affordable course had generous portions, I thought about going back just for the pasta. I wonder if they offer a la carte options?

The location is excellent. However, the entrance is a bit confusing as you have to enter from outside the building, so I got lost at first. The interior of the restaurant has a stylish atmosphere. It is different from the main store and the previous Marunouchi store, with less of the traditional wood elements. The clientele was mostly women. There is a lively atmosphere, but not to the point where it hinders conversation. The dishes are made with plenty of seasonal ingredients. The grilled edamame beans were cooked well, with a slight charred flavor, but still delicious with cheese mixed in. This time, I chose the most affordable course, but next time I want to try a more elaborate course with fancier dishes. The service was not bad, but I wish they could explain the dishes at the right time and with better presentation, and improve the timing and manner of serving drinks. If they can improve on these points, I would definitely want to come back again.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while. I had a lunch reservation with friends over the weekend, so I made a reservation on Tabelog a week in advance. The interior of the restaurant is a long space with tables lined up in a row. The atmosphere is casual with a hint of luxury. Since my companion has a small appetite, we opted for the 5-course lunch. The ingredients were delicious, and the sauces and dressings provided various flavors that made the dishes truly delicious! My companions were also delighted and said they would revisit for a girls' night out. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I made an internet reservation through the restaurant's website and visited. The restaurant was clean, with high ceilings, and had a nice new atmosphere. The food was carefully prepared, delicious, and served promptly. It was a shame that there were no light whiskey options on the drink menu. The asparagus, pasta, risotto, and dessert were all excellent.

I made a reservation for a course and visited the restaurant. The dishes that reflected the season were all delicious. The restaurant had glass walls and a high ceiling, creating a spacious and relaxing atmosphere for dining. The staff were attentive and the course progressed at a good pace. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I enjoyed a leisurely lunch with a terrace at an Italian restaurant on the first floor of Grand Front Osaka (о´∀`о). The atmosphere was great, and the place was full of female customers. Good atmosphere, good service! However, the pasta was a bit salty ( ・∇・) If the clientele is mostly female, I think a gentler seasoning would be more satisfying. Other than that, I was very satisfied ❤️❤️❤️

Ordered course meal... The dishes were all meticulously prepared from start to finish, truly exemplifying what high-quality cuisine should be. I had delicious Italian food after a long time. The focaccia was even warmed on a stone slab, offering a delightful experience for both the eyes and the taste buds!!! A fusion of Italian and Japanese flavors. [Ebiimo Sumi] A dish with a gentle texture, truly delicious. [Kanburi Daikon Bottarga] Grilled winter yellowtail with daikon and bottarga scattered on top. They even serve it with ice shaved using a machine similar to a kakigori stand. [Risotto Pork Ragout] A risotto with a hint of sansho pepper, absolutely amazing! The presence of burdock is really nice. [Linguine Zuwai Crab Nanohana] Pasta made with nanohana and Zuwai crab, you can taste the umami seasoning. A truly delicious pasta. [Kyoto Akadori Kujo Negi Pollo] Crispy-skinned red chicken, a Kyoto-packed main dish!

I finally had the chance to visit a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. The dishes were very delicate and the portion size was just right. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and easy to have a conversation. I also felt that they were considerate about allergies. I would like to visit this restaurant again.
