I was alone in Kitami, but I was supposed to meet two other people eventually. It would be nice if it happened. I wrote various things in my notes, but the first place I went to was not on my list. After the second place, or rather, after going to a festival and returning to Susukino, I found a place called "Mukashiya" without any specific intention. I was surprised to find Susukino in Kitami as well. It's a diverse place. There's also Tanukikoji, so I wandered around aimlessly and stumbled upon the restaurant "Mukashiya." It doesn't look like a typical izakaya when you walk in. I sat at the counter, but I wasn't sure if there were any other seats available. It has seven seats, and there seems to be more seats upstairs. The only staff I saw were a woman at the front and two men in the back. I ordered a beer and then the "Dashimaki Tamago." The menu is quite diverse. I asked what kind of restaurant it was. The Dashimaki Tamago was a bit salty with the sauce, lacking a bit of dashi flavor. It was a bit disappointing. "Eggplant?" "Green pepper?" I don't have to eat them, right? The presentation of the Octopus Carpaccio was beautiful, with interesting dried fruits that were not completely dry. They were delicious as dried fruits. It might be better not to evaluate it as a Carpaccio. The chef here is unexpectedly interesting. I might want to come back again.

I visited the city of Kitami in the northern part of Hokkaido, which is known more for its B-class gourmet food. However, I came across a restaurant here that serves "authentic" cuisine. I opted for the chef's choice course for 5,000 yen, and was impressed by the quality of the dishes. The appetizer consisted of caviar, cherry tomatoes, and gorgonzola cheese. The cherry tomatoes were marinated in miso, and their sweetness and juiciness were surprising. The meal included four types of fresh sashimi, salt-grilled sea bream, sole meuniere, shirako, and beef steak with mushroom sauce, followed by a soba rice porridge. The portions were generous and the quality of the ingredients was definitely worth the price. The restaurant also offers a variety of drinks including sake, shochu, and wine.

We entered Golden Week and relatives came to visit, so my partner and I went to the restaurant with our family and relatives. The relatives had been to this favorite restaurant before, and I had also visited with my family at the end of last year. The owners are familiar with my parents as they were classmates. The menu at this restaurant is rich with options such as "meat dishes," "fish dishes," "tofu dishes," "egg dishes," "natto dishes," "cheese dishes," "salads," "fries," "appetizers," and "main dishes for those with a big appetite." I don't drink alcohol, but there are plenty of food options for non-drinkers like me who enjoy hearty meals. They have a wide variety of cocktails for those who enjoy them. We each ordered the dishes we wanted and enjoyed our meal. My favorite menu item is the "Cheese Omelette." You can also choose your toppings for the "Pizza." The "German Potatoes" here shattered my previous concept of German potatoes. The potatoes are thinly sliced and crispy like potato chips. The "Onion Rings" are generous in portion, and when we couldn't finish them, they packed them up for us. We always make reservations and dine with our family on the second floor in a private room, but there are also counter seats on the first floor. However, be careful of the narrow and steep stairs leading to the second floor, watch your step when going up and down.

The inside of the store has an old-fashioned atmosphere. So is it called "Mukashiya" (old-fashioned)? There are no guides as the call button looks like an intercom, so it's easy to get lost. They recommended a lot of menu items, so many that it's surprising. There are many appetizers that go well with sake. They have high-end sake like Dassai and Juyondai. They also had about four types of Kurofune. All the rice dishes are delicious, with no disappointments. If the atmosphere is good, it's worth a visit.

I go to this restaurant regularly, and they have a wide variety of food and drinks. The food menu is easy to read with categories like "meat dishes," "fish dishes," and "cheese dishes." For someone like me who enjoys eating while drinking, the variety of rice dishes is very appealing. Garlic rice, rice croquettes... I'm starting to crave them just by writing about it. The sashimi exceeds expectations in quality. The abundance of dishes using cheese is also a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend trying this restaurant at least once.

I wanted to go there! Just looking at the entrance, I couldn't tell what the inside was like, but I always believed this place was my type based on other people's reviews. So, my partner and I decided to go on a celebration dinner after finishing work. We decided on the day itself. Can we come now? We called and went. The inside didn't seem very spacious at the entrance, but when we were guided upstairs, there were several tatami rooms that were private, which was very nice. They had already prepared the appetizers for us since we had called, and I was happy about that. The draft beer was nice and cold, so the beer passed the test! The menu had so many options that it was hard to choose. But that's what an izakaya is all about, right? It's nice to have a variety of choices. Also, they had pizza on the menu, which was surprising, but you could choose your own toppings, and the small size was a great snack. (The large size would have filled me up too quickly...) It was crispy like it was baked in a kiln. Truly Italian pizza☆ I wonder how they bake it? The onion rings were too much for us to finish, but it might be good for a larger group! The onions were very sweet, and you can't visit Kitami without trying dishes with onions!! I wanted to try the omurice and rice croquettes too, but we were only two people, so it was a shame. But I will definitely come back. I need to work hard again and plan the next celebration dinner.
