This is a review of the vegetable potage dipping noodles restaurant "Kaettekita Miyada Menji," produced by the comedy duo "Shampoo Hat" member Tetsuji. Despite being hesitant to visit celebrity-owned restaurants in the past, I decided to visit for lunch this time. On a sunny Sunday, there was an unexpected line forming even before the opening time. As people started entering one by one, I managed to get in just before it became fully booked, after a short wait. Upon entering, I was greeted by a ticket vending machine, and with staff waiting behind me, I felt pressured to make a quick decision. I ended up choosing my meal ticket using the "top-left rule" because I couldn't take my time to decide. Later, I found out that both regular serving (180g) and large serving (270g) of noodles were priced the same. After purchasing the ticket, I was guided to the second floor by the staff. The counter seats on the first floor were not in use, so we were seated at a table on the second floor. I sat down and waited quietly for my order to be ready. The noodles could be ordered separately (extra serving) for an additional 200 yen, and soup augmentation for 100 yen. In November 2020, the Nintendo Switch game "Momotaro Dentetsu ~ Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban! ~" (commonly known as Momotetsu) featured "Kaettekita Miyada Menji"! Other than that, "Komeda Coffee" also seems to be featured. The "Wheat Espresso" (regular serving) costs 1,000 yen and comes with a seasoned egg, lemon, and white spring onions on the side. The noodles were a regular serving of 180g. The glossy and textured wing noodles, produced by "Menya Teiaku," had a concave center. The noodles were made by milling less than half of the wheat, similar to the concept of premium sake. The soup was based on bisque soup blended with various vegetables, enhanced with clam and seafood umami extract, and finished with the acidity of tomatoes. First, I tried the noodles alone, which had a rich aroma and a chewy yet smooth texture. Slurping them up, the noodles' bouncy texture scattered around my mouth. The noodles were really good! Next, I tried the dipping noodles. The flavorful noodles intertwined with the umami sweetness of the soup's vegetables and seafood, with the acidity of the tomatoes gently tying everything together. Delicious! I regretted not coming here sooner because it was so tasty! I added black pepper for flavor variation, and the spiciness of the black pepper complemented the umami extract from the seafood and vegetables. The acidity of the tomatoes was a great accent. I finished the noodles in no time. I should have ordered the large serving! Squeezing some lemon over the noodles, I enjoyed another flavor variation. The strong acidity of the lemon refreshed the rich vegetable potage. Lastly, there was a soup refilling service. I poured the soup into the noodles and drank it all up. Delicious! I enjoyed the soup refilling as well and cooled down slowly. I suddenly thought... what if I added noodles to the soup refill? I wonder if it would turn into ramen. Someone should try it out! The "Wheat Espresso" (regular serving) costs 1,000 yen. If you don't want to wait in line, takeout is also an option, and it's a bit cheaper! I might try takeout next time. The restaurant is located next to the yakiniku restaurant "Ajiki," which is the family business of the comedy duo "Frosty Star" member Arashi Fuwa. Thank you for the delicious meal.
