At the beginning of the week, two of us visited a yakitori restaurant for the first time. It is located on a street south of Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, a little east of the main gate, with only counter seats. When I arrived at the front of the restaurant, I had a feeling of déjà vu and realized that I had been here before. I checked my review on Tabelog, but couldn't find it. I was a bit nervous because I thought this might be a no-photo restaurant. However, I remembered that I had written a review for the previous restaurant "Iemon," which was here before this one opened, about four years ago. This time, we ordered the Mune Yudofu with Raw Yuba Topping and the Omakase course with ten items (including salad and chicken soup) for 3500 yen, plus an additional two skewers of liver pate. The course included chicken soup, simmered chicken meatball, cabbage salad, chicken tenderloin with wasabi, ginkgo nut, tail meat, Saint-Guardian turnip, quail egg, sweet potato, gizzard, scallion roll, liver, thigh meat, chicken cartilage, and liver pate. We enjoyed the carefully grilled dishes over the course of about two hours. The two staff members at the restaurant were friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious yakitori and other dishes. They even cut the liver pate in half for us. I had a few Premium Malt's draft beers for 650 yen each, while my companion had a Yamato Sakura (red sweet potato) soda for 650 yen, and we finished with a Flamingo Orange soda mix. I was pleasantly surprised to find the rare Flamingo Orange available, even though it wasn't on the menu. I wonder if they still have it in stock now...
