This is my first visit to Haretate Yataimura in Asahikawa ^o^ I made a reservation before going. The restaurant was fully booked. Those without reservations were being turned away, so it's better to make a reservation before visiting. We ordered the Shibetsu Suffolk (2,200 yen), Australian lamb shoulder loin (1,000 yen), Ezo deer Jingisukan (990 yen), pork belly Jingisukan (990 yen), and the first plate of vegetables was a sausage assortment as a service (880 yen). I also had a premium malt beer (550 yen). All three staff members had great smiles, and the female owner even came to our table to greet us, the service was really great. However, the food was served slowly (◞‸◟) and there seems to be room for improvement in operations. The meat was delicious (^^) especially the Shibetsu Suffolk, which was excellent. However, the price was a bit high for the amount served, so in terms of cost performance, it was average. Enjoying Jingisukan outdoors on a refreshing night is still great. Personally, I prefer classic drinks, so I hope they keep that in mind. That was my impression of my visit~

Anyway, it was delicious! It was my first time having Hokkaido-style Genghis Khan in a while. And the Ezo deer spare ribs were amazing too. I was so satisfied. We sat on the terrace while it was raining, but we didn't get too wet, and the manager took good care of us. I'm grateful. I will definitely go back when I visit Asahikawa again.

Until December 26th, there is a limited-time event called the "Bar Hopping Sake Fair" at Asahikawa Harete. They offer a "Shima Nomichiketto" set, where you can get one glass of Kyushu/Okinawa sake and a small snack at each participating store for 700 yen per ticket (or 2000 yen for a set of three tickets). I tried the set at a place called Marushika, where I had a black sugar shochu from Kagoshima mixed with soda, along with a delicious snack of Shiribetsu Suffolk sausage and vegetables. The atmosphere was friendly, and even Taizō Sugimura, who happened to be there that day, was helping out by adding non-slip grips to the stairs. It was a fun and enjoyable experience at this lovely establishment!

On the first day of the consecutive holidays, I managed to make a last-minute reservation by calling ahead. The restaurant has a small seating area with 5 counter seats and 6 indoor tables, so I was relieved to secure a spot. Despite the chilly 10-degree weather, the outdoor seats were fully occupied, with a couple of groups being turned away. This place offers Suffolk lamb from Shibetsu, and I started off with a Sapporo beer while waiting for the meat. They had two types of Genghis Khan sets: one with domestic shoulder and loin (about 140g for 2200 yen) and another with imported lamb (200g for 1900 yen). I tried both sets and was highly satisfied with the deliciousness of the domestic and the great value of the imported lamb. I enjoyed it so much that I even ordered an additional serving of the imported shoulder. I only managed to take a photo of the beer before diving into the meal, but it was truly delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Asahikawa Harete is a two-story building with some shops on the second floor, and I visited one of the shops there. It's a Genghis Khan specialty restaurant called "Tenku no Genghis Khan". Located at Asahikawa City 5-jo Street 8-chome Asahikawa Harete. Operating hours are from 11:00 to 23:00. No parking available (but plenty of coin parking nearby). Please contact the store for current opening hours, closures, takeout options, etc. Official Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tenku_asahikawa/
Asahikawa Harete is a cashless facility, only credit cards and electronic payments are accepted. For more information, you can visit their official website: https://www.asahikawaharete.com/shop. Updates on store closures and other information are regularly posted on the Asahikawa Harete official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/asahikawa.cocoharete/
Just going up to the second floor is exciting, wondering about the design and atmosphere. Inside the second floor, there are various unfamiliar items on the menu posted on the wall. It's not just about eating grilled Genghis Khan, there are also various set meals which are interesting. I heard of something called "Hoget" for the first time, which is a meat between lamb and mutton. I moved through the store to the terrace seats, which are on the second floor as well. You can see the terrace seats of the neighboring pizza shop from there. It was a drizzly day, but the terrace had coverings so it was fine. I chose a seat with a larger white covering compared to the navy blue one. The view of Kaimono Park from the second-floor terrace is also nice.
There were some menu items that can be enjoyed as snacks with alcohol, and the hearty meat dishes were also appealing, but I decided to go with the lunch menu. I ordered the Genghis Khan lunch plate for 990 yen, where you can choose meat from lamb, Ezo deer, or whey-fed pork. I chose lamb meat. It came with miso soup. The presentation seemed a bit random due to the arrangement and the balance of the plate and food. But when I tried it, it was delicious. The meat was tender with no tough parts. The seasoning was just right, not too strong or weak, quite exquisite. The sauce had a rich and smooth flavor. The vegetables were also tasty, and the potato salad served was satisfying.
There seemed to be a skill gap among the staff members. The person who seemed like the owner was friendly and easy to talk to. Overall, I had a great experience and found a nice restaurant.

Asahikawa Harete is a series of exciting shops where you can wander around and feel the outdoor vibes. Today, I visited a place where I couldn't drink beer because I had to drive back, but I ordered a ginger ale pretending it was a beer garden. The dishes I tried were: - Premium fatty cuts (parts: Shibetsu belly, leg) - Shibetsu ground sausages (2 pieces) - Grilled udon noodles (venison) The soup was a surprise service! The meat here is truly exquisite. The best sauce to go with it is definitely rock salt. The ground sausages are incredibly delicious and robust. It's a must-order item. From the venison in the noodles to the overall luxurious experience, the use of venison is a new level of perfection. Every ingredient used here is of high quality. I can't wait to come back and enjoy more dishes. Next time, I definitely want to have a beer. Thank you for the delicious meal! ^^

There is also lamb yakisoba on the menu, but the staff recommended the lamb plate, so I chose the lamb plate. You can choose between white rice and wasabi rice, so of course I chose wasabi rice. Additionally, I added the Tokachi BIG mushroom. The lamb plate includes lamb and vegetable stir-fry with Genghis Khan sauce. The lamb is surprisingly tender and has a good amount of volume. The wasabi rice is eaten with bonito flakes and a light soy sauce, a dish that is typical of Hokkaido. The Tokachi mushroom is fresh and large, with a rare juiciness when you take a bite. Although lamb is the main dish, the mushroom also has a strong presence. It is delicious with just salt and pepper. The location is great, especially the terrace seats on the second floor. I definitely want to come back and enjoy Genghis Khan hot pot here at night. This is a place I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

A Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) restaurant in Asahikawa called Harete. They offer a special Suffolk lamb from Shibetsu's "Shizu Farm". They have a set menu called "Tenku Set" (2,200 yen) which includes leg meat, belly meat, and vegetables. Of course, when you have Genghis Khan, you need to have beer, so I ordered a "Premium Malt's" (550 yen). The excitement rises when the Genghis Khan pot arrives (laughs). I started by grilling the leg meat first. It has a mild flavor and the more you chew, the more you taste the deliciousness. They provide two types of sauce, the regular Genghis Khan sauce and a curry-flavored sauce, which was also delicious. Next, I grilled the belly meat. It was very tender and flavorful with the fat. The vegetables included asparagus, enoki mushrooms, eringi mushrooms, shishito peppers, onions, and carrots. The meat's flavor seeped into the vegetables, creating a great combination! The wine was nicely chilled, so I ordered a glass of "Los Vascos" wine (550 yen). Wanting a little more to eat, I asked the manager for a recommendation and they suggested the new menu item, "Juicy Lamb Karaage". I ordered it for 880 yen. The Juicy Lamb Karaage had a rich flavor and paired well with alcohol. It was very juicy and tender, making it a great snack to go with drinks. The manager and staff were very friendly, making it a casual and enjoyable place to savor Genghis Khan!
