After work! Heading to "Shin" for some food! I had marked this place in Chitose as one of the few places where you can eat beef tongue, but it seems that due to the current situation, many shops in the evening and night start their business hours later or have temporary closures. The location of the restaurant is near the drinking district, so many surrounding shops are also affected, including "Bi○ Shokudo." It was a bit of a struggle to visit the restaurant. It must have been tough for the shops, but in the world, there is a movement towards coexistence, so we need to take proper measures. Before opening hours, there was already a decent line forming. There seemed to be regular customers as well, engaging in conversation with the owner. I ordered the "Beef Tongue Grilled Set Meal with Small Rice (¥1400)" and "Beef Tongue Stew Small (¥300)." The set meal includes 4 pieces of grilled beef tongue, barley rice, and oxtail soup. I had the impression that beef tongue takes a long time to cook, but the one plate was ready in about 5 minutes, which surprised me a little. Upon researching, I found out that it takes about 1 and a half minutes to cook beef tongue, so it seems they got it right here. It has been since last year in Sendai that I had beef tongue, and that place was so crowded that I didn't know. Even with 4 pieces, the slices are quite thick, but my photography skills are not good, so it might be hard to see. The surface is seasoned with salt, with a slight crispy texture. As you bite into it, a dynamic texture and a burst of flavor are released! It's not easy to cut with chopsticks, so it's not exactly tender, but the moderate texture and the more you chew, the more you can taste the flavor, which might be the essence of beef tongue. There is plenty of pickled vegetables provided, which is convenient for refreshing your mouth! The oxtail soup was a first for me, but it had a diced texture similar to braised pork, with a tender texture different from beef tongue. Perhaps the flavor of the meat is passed into the soup, as you can taste the saltiness and the flavor of the meat itself, making it delicious! It's a complex flavor, so is it rich? I thought so, but the aftertaste is refreshing, and the warmth of the soup penetrates the body. I would like to drink this every day in the cold winter... The stew has a soy sauce or red wine-like flavor, a bit on the salty side, but it's super delicious! The diced beef tongue melts instantly in your mouth, and in addition to the seasonings mentioned earlier, there is also a sweetness from the meat's fat, and the taste of the vegetables!! This applies to beef tongue as well, but it goes well with rice! The beef tongue grilled for a chewy texture, and the beef tongue stew for a tender texture, allowing you to enjoy different textures, which is great! The barley rice is about the same amount as a regular serving at a set meal restaurant, so the small portion doesn't matter (laughs). I wonder how much the large portion is then? It became a luxurious dinner, but I'll consider it a present to myself for working hard! I hope that the shops with evening hours and the bustling streets will regain their vitality! Thank you for the meal.

The thick-cut beef tongue available here in Sendai is hard to come by. With each slice measuring about 1cm thick, the beef tongue is juicy and pairs well with beer. You can get 5 thick-cut beef tongue slices and a bottle of beer for only 2000 yen, which is a great deal! The beef tongue set meal, which comes with barley rice and oxtail soup, is priced at 1500 yen. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Although the sign says the restaurant is open until 9pm, the owner may close early, so it's recommended to visit earlier in the evening.

It's my first visit alone on a night-only operating restaurant. They used to serve lunch in the past, but the prices have remained the same. The menu is limited, and they don't have hot pot. They offer a beef tongue grilled set for 1,500 yen, with an option for a small portion of rice for an additional 100 yen. Before heading to the Chinese restaurant across the street, I checked out the menu posted on the exterior wall and saw that it's a set meal, so I felt comfortable going alone at night. As soon as the owner put up the noren curtain, people started coming in. There is a counter and two raised tables on the left side. The owner asked if I was alone and suggested the counter seat. I wonder how long they have been in business; it seems like they relocated. The exterior and interior exude a sense of tradition and are old but well-maintained, giving off a sense of cleanliness. There are acrylic panels, and they request silent eating and for small groups of 4-5 people. They have implemented thorough COVID-19 measures. Everyone ordered the set meal, so I followed suit and ordered the set meal with a small portion. The owner grilled the beef tongue on charcoal, and it was thick. I tried to bite into one piece but ended up cutting it into smaller pieces with scissors. When I spread it out on the plate, it was a huge volume. After reading on Google, it seems that the simmered dish is also delicious, so I plan to try that next time. Thank you for the meal.

While wandering down a deserted street, I stumbled upon a beef tongue specialty store. With not many options around, I decided to give it a try. As expected from a specialty store, the menu was limited. I ended up ordering the beef tongue grill (1300 yen) and the beef tongue stew (small, 300 yen). Stew: The meat was rich and flavorful, not too gelatinous, and delicious! It gave me high hopes for the beef tongue grill. Grill: It seemed a bit pricey, but the thick-cut beef tongue with a spicy seasoning was fantastic! Tail soup (500 yen): It was my first time trying it, and the refined flavor was also delicious! Initially, I was disappointed by the limited menu, but after trying the dishes, all my doubts disappeared. It was a great place to fully enjoy beef tongue. It may seem odd to have beef tongue in Chitose, but I highly recommend it.

There are many restaurants in Sendai that specialize in serving only beef tongue. Due to the unique nature of beef tongue, it may be difficult to offer a wide variety of menu options. While they do have beef tongue stew and beef tongue with vinegar miso dressing on the menu, these are more like side dishes. The restaurant seems to focus on simply grilling thick slices of beef tongue. The beef tongue is served in generous portions with a moderate saltiness, and when paired with pickled vegetables, it creates a sense of happiness in your mouth. However, the happiness only lasts for the four slices that are provided. It's a place you might go to for drinks, but it didn't feel like a typical drinking spot. I left the restaurant thinking I would like to try their beef tongue shabu-shabu or sukiyaki next time.

A while ago, during a business trip, I saw a restaurant specializing in beef tongue on my way back from a drinking party and thought it was rare. However, I was too full at the time and had to give up (>_<). I finally had the opportunity to visit this area this time. It is located on a side street along the river from the national highway, with a cafeteria-like appearance. When I entered, there was a long counter and a small raised area on the left. In front of the counter, there was a charcoal kiln for grilling beef tongue, constantly burning charcoal. I was surprised by the small number of items on the menu w(゜□゜;w). They offered beef tongue grilled, barley rice, egg over rice, bean sprout salad, and by reservation only, beef tongue shabu-shabu and sukiyaki. I could feel their determination to focus on beef tongue alone, so naturally, I said, "I'll have that," with a slightly tense attitude (・_・). I ordered the beef tongue set meal, beef tongue miso mix, and bean sprout salad. While waiting for the food to be ready, I enjoyed a draft beer, and the tension I felt earlier disappeared completely〜ヽ(▽`*)ノ. First, the 'Beef Tongue Miso Mix' arrived. Thinly sliced beef tongue that had been blanched, topped with white leeks and miso sauce. The sweet miso sauce and the crispness of the leeks, along with the blanched beef tongue, made it light and enjoyable (^w^). Next came the 'Bean Sprout Salad,' which was also blanched with plenty of bean sprouts and seaweed, simple and delicious. The crunchy texture of the bean sprouts and seaweed was great. If you have a small appetite, this alone would be enough to fill you up (^_^). Lastly, the main dish, the 'Beef Tongue Set Meal,' with four thick slices of beef tongue, a large portion of pickled Chinese cabbage on a third of the plate, barley rice, and oxtail soup. The beef tongue had cuts in it and was thickly sliced yet tender (^o^). It had a slightly salty seasoning, allowing the flavor of the beef tongue to shine through. It was perfect with the pickled Chinese cabbage and barley rice! (^w^). In between, I had the oxtail soup. It had a smooth texture, but the oxtail broth was rich and elegant in flavor. Everything was so delicious (⌒〜⌒). It had been a while since I had thickly sliced beef tongue, but the chewy texture and the juicy meat juice were irresistible (‾∀+‾). This was my first time at a beef tongue specialty restaurant, and because they focus solely on beef tongue, I could enjoy high-quality dishes and feel the determination and professionalism of the chefs (^-^).
