The young owner is from Nemuro. It seems that he only has experience training in Hokkaido. The homemade salted fish roe, marinated herring, and vinegar-pickled fish show his creativity. He also uses a lot of mountain wasabi. The selection of Japanese sake is small but appealing. The nigiri includes red clam (from Russia), spear squid (local), cherry salmon, and herring. With a generous amount of Japanese sake, the price is reasonable at 14,000 yen.

This is a sushi restaurant located very close to Hakodate Station in February 2018. We ordered the "Mitsukuroi" course, which includes a variety of appetizers and sushi, priced at 7,000 yen. We started with a classic beer, followed by the Japanese sake "Tateyama." The course began with a platter of appetizers, followed by several types of sashimi. We also enjoyed grilled surf clam with miso and finished with sushi. The owner was friendly and we had a great time chatting with him. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited the main branch that I had been curious about for a while. I arrived at 12:00 for lunch, but there were no other customers. They no longer offered lunch sets, so I opted for a 10-piece nigiri set for 3700 yen. I chose miso soup as the dessert option. The first piece was salted flounder, which brought out the natural flavor of the fish. It was delicious. The other pieces included fatty tuna, salmon, squid, sea urchin/salmon roe, octopus, egg, etc. All of them were tasty. Personally, the salted flounder and the octopus with soy sauce and yuzu stood out to me. The chef was very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. I would love to come back and take my time to enjoy the meal next time.

After visiting "Kaikofu," I decided to have some sushi at "Sushi Ichiro," which had high ratings on Tabelog. When I arrived at the restaurant, there were few customers, so I sat at the empty counter seats. The interior was clean and had a sense of cleanliness, which was nice. Unfortunately, photography was strictly prohibited, so I couldn't take any pictures. I started with a highball and a sashimi assortment. The highball arrived quickly, and the sashimi was fresh and delicious. After finishing the sashimi, I ordered a nigiri assortment and waited. Suddenly, a large group of Chinese customers arrived! The owner spoke fluent English and guided them. It's amazing how fluent he was! It seems that nowadays, restaurant owners in tourist areas need to be able to speak English. The nigiri arrived, and it was also delicious. As more and more customers kept coming in, I felt sorry for the owner and decided to pay and leave. Thank you for the meal today.

The sushi restaurant in Hakodate that my business partner took me to was located right in front of Hakodate Station, which was very convenient. I asked for a variety of dishes and enjoyed them with sake, and the way they served the dishes was interesting. The minced whale meat was served with garlic and ginger in soy sauce, while the fresh squid was mixed with plenty of mountain wasabi and bonito flakes in soy sauce. The punch of the mountain wasabi was especially impressive. The sea pineapple was also delicious, and I was very satisfied. I will have to visit Hakodate regularly, so I want to explore more places, but I will definitely come back here!

The location of the restaurant is right in front of Hakodate Station, making it easy to find. It opened on April 30th in the place where "Hisago Sushi" used to be. The interior of the restaurant has been renovated with a bright atmosphere while retaining the impressive cypress counter. In addition to counter seats, there are also table seats and two private rooms in the back, accommodating up to about 20 people for parties. Today, I ordered the 1500 yen lunch set, which included 9 pieces of sushi such as flounder, salmon, herring, tuna, shirako, mackerel, ikura, and tamagoyaki, along with a soup and dessert of ice cream. The herring and shirako were beautifully and deliciously prepared. Even though it was a lunch set, each piece of sushi was served individually and all of them were seasoned and presented nicely.

Located near the station, facing National Route 5. When accessing by car, you must use the coin parking in the back. I had the Aoi course for ¥2,800. 1. Anago: gentle taste, not served with sauce, high quality. 2. Uni: decent. 3. Ikura: good texture, no fishy smell. Would have preferred salmon roe. 4. Crab: no dryness, delicious. 5. Surf clam: crunchy texture. 6. Shime saba: outstanding, perfect finish. 7. Shrimp: melts in your mouth. 8. Akami: deep and rich flavor. 9. Abalone: chewy. Overall, the portions are on the smaller side. A nice atmosphere at the restaurant.
