My wife, daughter A, and I visited a ramen shop on Konodai Avenue. The shop only had counter seats and was operated by two female staff members. They operated on a ticket system, and the recommended dish was the "ramen," so all three of us ordered the 850 yen ramen. When buying the tickets, I accidentally dropped 100 yen under the ticket machine. I explained the situation to the staff, and they lent me a broom. I managed to retrieve the 100 yen and even found an extra 60 yen, so I saved some money! The ramen arrived and looked delicious. The noodles were thick, which was a first for me. They were chewy and delicious. The soup was made with anchovies, but it had a well-balanced flavor without any fishy taste, maintaining its deliciousness until the last bite. It was so good. Looking at the ramen served to others, I noticed that some had noodles as thick as udon, giving a sense of depth to the dish. Thank you for the meal.

This is a ramen shop located near Kintetsu Nagase Station. The "Niboshi Ramen" for 850 yen has a complex and delicious broth. The shop has only counter seats. I visited this place out of curiosity for ramen. The shop is small with only 11 counter seats. It was crowded on a Sunday afternoon with mostly young male customers. The air conditioning was strong, which was a relief from the hot weather outside. The menu includes "Ramen" and "Niboshi Ramen" for 850 yen, and "Tsukemen" for 900 yen. You can get a 100 yen discount if you opt out of the chashu topping. I decided to try the Niboshi Ramen, and it was a delightful experience. The broth had a rich Niboshi flavor with a hint of animal-based dashi. The noodles were slightly firm, but could be a bit smoother. Towards the end, there was a slight bitterness and tanginess, which might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it. Overall, it was a satisfying bowl of ramen. If you enjoy a bold Niboshi flavor, this place is worth a visit.

Do you like rich ramen? If so, I highly recommend Menya Semi, located near Nagase Station in Higashi-Osaka City! Despite being rich, their ramen doesn't have a heavy aftertaste. I tried their special ramen last time, so this time I ordered the special niboshi (dried sardine) ramen. The double soup of rich tonkotsu and niboshi flavors paired perfectly with the medium-thick noodles, and it was incredibly delicious. If you like what you see, please like and follow! And if you find this post interesting, please save it for later. Date of visit: June 20, 2023. Price: Around 1000 yen. Cash only. Located right near Kintetsu Nagase Station. Parking available. I visited the main store of Menya Semi in Higashi Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. It is located about 250m northeast of Nagase Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line. I went there on a Sunday at 8:00 PM and there were 4 other customers in the small restaurant with 9 seats at the L-shaped counter. The staff, consisting of two women, were managing the place. The menu offers 5 types of noodles including ramen, niboshi ramen, tsukemen, Hiroshima-style tsukemen, and spicy mixed noodles. They also have a cheaper option called "Negi Ramen" which only comes with green onions as a topping. I selected the ramen for 850 yen using the ticket machine. On the table, there were black pepper and shichimi for ramen as well as toppings like simmered kombu and furikake for rice. The broth had a strong and bold animal-based flavor, with a hint of fishiness from the niboshi. The noodles were wavy, medium-thick, and slightly chewy due to being cooked al dente. The toppings included thinly sliced pork, soft menma, kaiware, nori, chopped green onions, and a slice of lemon. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

The ramen looked good, but the chashu was tough and hard to chew, and the taste was just average, not worth the 1100 yen. I was also surprised by the complete lack of "Welcome" and "Thank you" greetings in the shop.

I visited around 1:00 p.m. for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but I was able to enter without waiting. They use a food ticket system. The menu was extensive, so I had a hard time deciding, but I ordered the special ramen. The taste was undeniably delicious.

I was drawn in by the beautiful visuals of Menya Semi, located right near Kintetsu Nagase Station, and decided to give it a try! This time, I ordered the special ramen with plenty of toppings. The soup was a double soup of pork bone and seafood, the noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, topped with rare chashu, seasoned egg, lemon, and more! I personally love the rare chashu - it's moist and you can really taste the flavor of the meat. With each sip of the soup, the rich and unobtrusive tonkotsu and dried fish flavors are incredibly delicious! I was skeptical about the lemon on top at first, but as I continued eating, the juice gradually added a refreshing touch to the soup, preventing it from becoming too heavy. I loved it so much that I plan to go back next time for the even more seafood-rich niboshi ramen. This place has become a favorite of mine!

The cicada, a small restaurant with only 12 counter seats, is always bustling with customers. It is run by two energetic sisters. The boiled fish soup ramen is 850 yen, and the special ramen is 1050 yen. The soup and noodles are so good, and the chashu is excellent too! It was a blissful moment, thank you for the meal~٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ (Tears)

Cicada. A ramen shop located near a main street. I arrived after 9 PM and there were 5-6 customers at the counter. There were no students, but I'm sure earlier there were many students from the nearby university. I purchased a food ticket and placed it on the counter, and in about 5 minutes, the ramen was ready. It had a strong color and scent of dried fish, and when I slurped the noodles, the intense fish flavor spread throughout my mouth. Although it's called dried fish and pork bone ramen, the dried fish flavor seemed to dominate. The noodles were chewy and quite delicious. Is this kind of ramen worth nearly 1000 yen for students? I wonder if the owner is a fan of Nagabuchi Tsuyoshi. Damn it - boiled egg ramen 970 yen.

I was craving for mixed soba and found "Semi" where they only had spicy mixed soba. Oh well, I decided to give it a try. It wasn't as spicy as I thought, so I felt relieved. I also had shredded pork bowl. My friend had green onion ramen. But after that, I still wanted mixed soba with rice as a finishing touch. I heard you can make okayu with the broth from the green onion ramen, so I'll definitely try that next time.

Menya Semi Main Store [Nishiuegosaka, Higashiosaka City, Osaka Prefecture] Located in Nagase, Higashiosaka City, "Menya Semi" is open all day, making it easy to visit on a Saturday night. The restaurant was almost full, but luckily there was one empty seat available. It seems to be popular among a younger crowd. I ordered the Special Anchovy Ramen for 1100 yen and the Shredded Pork Rice for 300 yen. I was surprised by how quickly the food was served after I sat down. The special ramen came with rare chashu, menma, kaiware, negi, ajitama, and nori, all of which complemented the anchovy-based soup well. The soup had a strong seafood flavor and a nice texture, giving a satisfyingly junky feel. The chewy noodles also paired well with the soup. I finished my meal easily. The restaurant only has counter seats and operates on a pre-payment system using a ticket machine. They are open all day with no regular holidays, and serve ramen quickly. It's a place where solo diners can easily enjoy a meal. [Business Hours] 11:00-22:00 [Closed] None [Parking] None.

Meshiuma's Delicious Dish (16th dish of 2023): Review of Menya Semi, a ramen restaurant in a competitive area near Kondai Street. The "Special Ramen for 1100 yen" comes with a satisfying amount of marinated egg, 3 slices of chashu pork, and double the amount of bamboo shoots. The perfectly cooked marinated egg and the incredibly flavorful chashu pork are particularly impressive, captivating all who taste them. The rich seafood broth with a hint of dried fish aroma permeates through the senses.

The soup is Japanese-style fish and pork bone, creamy and mild with a slightly textured taste, very delicious. The noodles have a chewy texture that pairs well. The chashu is rare, tender, and tasty, and the dried fish adds an extra layer of flavor.

The soup was made with bonito broth, which I could directly taste, but some people may not like the powdery texture. I felt the base was soy sauce with bonito flavor. The tsukemen had a rich taste, and personally, I prefer it over the ramen. I felt the richness in the tsukemen was due to the miso flavor, but I wonder if that's actually the case. The chashu wasn't to my liking personally. It wasn't thin, but had a thick texture, although it was a bit difficult to cut. The meat in my partner's tsukemen was tastier. The boiled egg yolk was cooked perfectly to my liking. I preferred the thinner noodles over the tsukemen noodles.

I visited the main branch of "Menya Semii" located on the street known as "Kendai Street," which is closest to Kintetsu Nagase Station. I had been eyeing this place ever since I saw it while visiting the extremely popular ramen shop "Menya Seiryu" nearby. Upon researching, I found out that there is also a branch near Kansai University. The owner of the shop trained at "Niban-ya Ramen Tamagoro." Interestingly, the "Negi Ramen" (730 yen) is cheaper than the regular "Ramen" (830 yen). The reason why will be explained after the second paragraph.
I selected the "Ramen" (830 yen) at the ticket machine and was served by two young women working efficiently. I decided to add a side of "White Rice" (100 yen) after sitting at the counter. The fish powder seasoning was provided as a complimentary service, which I sprinkled generously on my ramen. The toppings included rare pork shoulder chashu, white negi, kaiware, a quarter slice of lemon, menma, and nori. Additionally, there was unlimited diced red onions available, which I may have added too much of.
I took a sip of the soup and it was incredibly delicious! The balance of flavors was perfect, and it paired exceptionally well with the straight noodles. The dish could be described as "semi-nude," as everything was well thought out, especially the noodles.
PS: I discovered why the "Negi Ramen" is cheaper than the regular "Ramen." It seems that the Negi Ramen does not come with chashu, despite having plenty of white negi.

According to a friend who is a student at a nearby university, the Nagase Street is a highly competitive area for ramen shops. Ramen shops come and go, it's just a normal part of daily life there. Intrigued by this, I decided to try "Semi," a shop that has managed to thrive amidst the fierce competition and continues to be loved by students. The impression I got after trying their ramen was that it truly lives up to the reputation of being in a competitive area. The level of quality in this student town surprised me. While their boiled fish ramen is also popular, the true gem of Semi is their tsukemen. The noodles were decent, serving as a solid base, but what really stood out was the rich and creamy soup that overshadowed everything else. Every ingredient seemed to be there to complement the soup and the slices of meat. I made sure to savor every drop of the tsukemen soup. If I ever find myself in Higashiosaka again, I would definitely love to visit Semi once more.

I arrived around the usual opening time. There were some students at the counter. Water dumplings arrived. They were soaked in broth, like Akashiyaki style? When I tried them, the meat juice squirted out like xiaolongbao. The thick skin was chewy and delicious! The broth was comforting like udon. The tsukemen noodles were thick! The noodles were fragrant. They seemed to be boiled firm rather than having a strong bite. They were so thick that you could only eat one at a time haha. The dipping sauce was rich with a strong seafood pork bone flavor. The chashu was thick and had a good chew. The people around me were ordering ramen, so I'll try that next time.

The soup at this popular ramen shop in Osaka's Nagase area is surprisingly light and easy to swallow. I visited for the first time on a Monday at noon and was seated immediately without having to wait outside. I ordered the simmered fish broth ramen, which had a nice chewy texture and delicious soup. Just be aware that the area is strict with student traffic restrictions.

Located between Kintetsu Nagase Station and Kansai University, there are many ramen shops near the university! Among them, I visited this popular shop! I arrived on a Saturday around 12 o'clock and waited for about 3 minutes inside the shop! I ordered the special tsukemen from the ticket machine! The soup with a strong flavor of dried sardines and thick noodles that are well coated are delicious! Thank you for the meal!

"Menya Semi Honten" ✔️Nagase/Ramen, Tsukemen, Abura Soba✉️ 14-13 Nishiuekoshosaka, Higashiosaka, Osaka⚫️ Special Tsukemen 1,090 yen When you think of ramen at Nagase Station!? The cold noodles are delicious there... Arrived at the station, opened Instagram, and saw the words "Closed due to ingredients running out." Darn it. It was around 3:30 pm on a weekday. Don't underestimate it, right? So, Nagase Station is a student town. There are quite a few food shops, so I decided to go to this ramen shop here. The inside of the shop is full of students (I'm also a student, kind of? lol). They only accepted cold noodles, so I chose the tsukemen❗️ The noodles are thick and firm, similar to the texture of frozen udon. The soup seems to be a seafood pork bone broth, but since I've found some really delicious shops in this style, it's just okay... The stomach is full now✊ lol. Thank you for the meal!
