It was a bittersweet debut. I often see Yayoiken restaurants around, but I had never been to one before. I was excited to try it out since it seemed like a place where you could have a regular meal, similar to Ootoya. I paid at the ticket machine before entering. The menu was displayed prominently near the machine, and I had a hard time deciding. Still recovering from a stomach ache, I didn't want anything too heavy... but I ended up choosing the Chicken Nanban set meal (tax included 860 yen). It came with a small block of tofu, Chicken Nanban, cabbage, miso soup, and rice. They also served pickles for ochazuke. The tartar sauce on the Chicken Nanban wasn't really to my liking. I ate quietly. The rice... wasn't very... tasty... maybe... ochazuke would make it better?! I thought as I added the pickles and poured the broth over it. The pickles were delicious!! But, hmm... I couldn't finish the meal. I left the rice, which is rare for me... I'm sorry... My partner enjoyed the Miso-Stewed Mackerel set meal and said it was delicious, so we might come back again. "It's not that cheap for a set meal, right?" was the impression. I vowed to think carefully about what to order from the menu next time. Visit in April 2023.

I had lunch at a branch of the bento shop "Yayoiken" called "Yayoiken"♪ During a limited time period, they are offering a "Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set" for 890 yen. The set comes with two pieces of chicken breast meat that are crispy and dry. I didn't have any expectations for the fried chicken, so I don't really care about it, but the Sichuan Mapo Tofu is super delicious!! When I sprinkled Sichuan peppercorns generously, the tingling sensation increased the deliciousness!! According to the "Yayoiken" website, it says that the offering of this "Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set" is "ending soon," so if you are interested, please visit soon and definitely try it out.

Visit date 23rd May 2021. I came to Yayoiken after a long time. It seems a bit quiet, probably because of the coronavirus. Well, for someone like me who is out and about during lunchtime, it's actually convenient when it's not too crowded (laughs). Now, as you may know, Yayoiken offers free refills. Recently, they have become quite large, so I decided to stick with just one refill (laughs). I ordered the "Fried Chicken and Grilled Gyoza Set". The spice on Yayoiken's fried chicken is really delicious - I wish I could buy it somewhere. I'll look it up online later. The fried chicken and gyoza were both delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I decided to visit Yayoiken based on my wife's suggestion that their hitsumabushi is good. It was our first time visiting, even though we had known about the restaurant since it was being built. We purchased our meal tickets from the ticket machine at the entrance and my wife ordered the hitsumabushi set as planned. I opted for the eel kabayaki set which was the same price. They brought us water at first, then we helped ourselves. The restaurant provided nice hand towels, which was a plus. There were a lot of children around, asking their mothers questions loudly. The portion of eel was small for the amount of rice, but I managed to enjoy it by pouring sauce over it. In the end, it was the sauce that made it tasty. There were also a few solo female diners. It's quite a popular restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

After a night of skiing at Hoods Ski Resort, I looked for a convenient place to eat on the way back and found Yayoiken. With many locations but never having tried it before, I went with my young daughter. It was past 9 pm so the restaurant was empty. You order at the ticket machine and your food comes quickly, making it suitable for those who want a fast meal. I had thought they only served set meals, but they also had fried potatoes which my daughter liked. The fact that you can have seconds with the set meals is a plus, but the taste is just average so it may not be for those who are particular about food. If you are looking for options after 9 pm, this is a good choice. I would definitely visit again after a night of skiing.

When you're hungry in Minami Ward, this is the place to go. When you want to eat a lot, this is the place to go. Overall, the food has a mild taste. I ate a lot because they offer unlimited rice refills (lol). Today, I had the grilled Atka mackerel set meal with rolled omelette and fermented soybeans, and I ate like crazy (lol). I had about 6 extra bowls of rice.

"I had the ginger pork set meal. It was too hot to cook for myself haha. Maybe the kitchen staff was sweating too much, because the seasoning was stronger than usual. A bit disappointing..."

I was impressed by the refill robot! I thought it was shaved ice from the diagonal back, but it turned out to be a rice dish. The cheese hamburger was juicy and came with salad. The rice didn't have much glossiness though.

Beef steak mix set meal for 990 yen. Other set meals are delicious, but the steak was clearly cold. It was also disappointing that it was difficult to chew. Is cost performance a priority here?

This meal cost 690 yen, which is cheap. Yayoiken is known for its unlimited rice refills, but I didn't get any extra (laughs). The taste is really average. I won't be swayed by overall ratings. Even if a restaurant has a high rating, if the food is bad, I will rate it as bad. Even if the food is good, if the place is not clean or the staff's service is poor, I will give it a low rating. I will give my own independent evaluation without being influenced by others.

The counter is nice with a partition in front. I arrived around 12 o'clock. Despite the bad weather, almost 80% of the seats were filled. I ordered the mixed tempura and pork cutlet set meal for 780 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The shrimp fry, cutlet, and beef were all coated in a sweet and savory egg mixture. When dining alone, I always want to try a variety of dishes in small portions. Haha, surprisingly, rice refills are free! And you can serve yourself! The rice itself is delicious. I ended up eating quite a lot of the pickles on the table. Haha, I will definitely visit again! ( ^ω^ )

I went to eat Pacific saury. Don't expect good customer service. It seems like they don't have any training in that area. There are no smiles. The taste is just average.
