Today, I visited a shop in the southern part of town. I was craving for maze-soba, so I decided to try Mito Kohnmon, which I had been eyeing for a while. I took a break from alcohol yesterday, so my stomach is feeling great today! (laughs) Lately, I've been avoiding maze-soba because it sometimes upsets my stomach, but today my stomach is feeling up for anything. It's probably more about drinking too much than my age. (laughs) When I entered the shop, there was already one customer enjoying their ramen, and as soon as I walked in, they called out, "Excuse me, I'd like some extra rice." Oh, this person is also a fan of Mito Kohnmon. (laughs) I ordered Mito Kohnmon (Tan Tan Doro Maze-soba) for 900 yen and an extra boiled egg for 100 yen at the ticket machine. When I handed over my ticket, the shop owner asked, "It has cilantro in it, is that okay?" I love cilantro, so I wanted to say, "Please put so much that I can't see the noodles." (laughs) There was complimentary spicy pickled mustard greens on the table. My excitement level went up again. Soon after, the food was served. It looks delicious! I mixed it up. Mixing maze-soba after a long time. Ohhh, how about this muddy wrestling view? (laughs) And then I tried it. Wow, this is delicious! It's too delicious!!! The slight cough-inducing numbness of the Sichuan pepper. This is amazing. The slightly spicy minced meat inside adds a wonderful kick. And the aroma of cilantro on top of that creates a perfect combination. When I first mixed it, it seemed quite filling, and I was a bit worried about getting too full, but before I knew it, the noodles disappeared in front of me. (laughs) And I finished with the extra rice dive. At this shop, the owner dives the extra rice directly into the bowl of noodles. And on top of that, there is unlimited spicy pickled mustard greens to dive into as well! Um, sorry, I got a bit carried away for a moment because it was so delicious. (laughs) This dish was truly divine, and I was completely overwhelmed by the power of "Kohnmon." (laughs)

Located near Nishinakajima Minamigata Station, I ordered the soupless tantanmen at Bakaden with the Mito Komon option. You can choose whether or not to have cilantro in it when ordering. I really enjoy the numbing sensation of the sansho pepper ❤️ The noodles are thick and have a slightly chewy texture. At first, I was honestly like "???" when I started eating, but as I continued, it got better. I ended up diving in! Yes, I love the numbing sensation ❤️ I feel like I need to try this again to truly understand it.

Two people visited the restaurant on a Saturday night after 8:00 PM. Although the restaurant was almost full, they were seated quickly after buying their meal tickets. They ordered the Mito Kombu Dan Dan Mazemen (1000 yen). They were asked if they were okay with cilantro, to which they replied that they loved it. The spiciness of the Sichuan pepper was very strong. It paired well with the cilantro, but the spiciness of the Sichuan pepper was so overpowering that it was hard to taste the other flavors. As they continued eating, their mouths went numb from the spiciness of the Sichuan pepper. They were given extra rice, and when they handed over their bowl, the staff added the rice for them. The rice actually paired better with the dish! Towards the end, the remaining broth had less spiciness, which was a nice change. The dish should have been delicious, but the spiciness was too much for them. They thought that maybe they could have asked for the spiciness level to be adjusted. It was a bit disappointing because the base of the dish was tasty.

It had been a while since I visited Shin-Osaka, so I decided to explore a ramen shop. It's closer to Hankyu's Minami-Kata station than JR. It's located on the corner of a intersection, so it's easy to find. I was looking at Tabelog before going, trying to decide what to order, but when I saw the sign outside saying "Rich Tonkotsu," I chose the Kurokiri. I had imagined a Kyushu-style tonkotsu ramen with lard from Kagoshima or Kumamoto, but what I got was a thick tonkotsu soup. It had what seemed like lard oil on top, but it was quite different. It was thick and rich in flavor, almost to the point where I wanted a small bowl of rice with it. The noodles were not thin, but rather medium-thick. They were a bit firm, but softened to just the right texture as I ate. I prefer them a bit softer. The chashu had a tender texture that I liked, but it was also too flavorful, so I couldn't really taste the pork's natural goodness, which was disappointing. It exceeded the level of ordinary deliciousness, but it wasn't mind-blowingly amazing. Also, even though it said tonkotsu, it's better to think of it as something different from the typical pork bone ramen.

When I went to Tonkatsu restaurant, it was closed, so I tried a ramen place I had never been to before. I went at 1:30 pm and I was the only customer. I ordered the Black Mist ramen for 1,000 yen. The flavor was strong and quite salty. It seems like it's geared towards young people and those who do physical labor. Thank you for the meal.

- Ordered item: "Mito Kōmon" (name of dish) large portion for 1,000 yen - Dish: It's called "Soupless Tantanmen". The large and regular portions are the same price. It has a rich pork bone broth base. The rich flavor combined with the spiciness of tantan is intense, not numbing but has a kick of heat. Honestly, you may not need cilantro. At the end, we were served complimentary rice with the rich soupless dish. Next time, I want to challenge their ramen.

Today's lunchtime was in the vicinity of Nishinakajima Minamigata, a fierce ramen battleground. I visited "Bakaden" located a little away from the station. The simple black and white signboard with just the name of the restaurant caught my attention. After confirming the "open" sign, I entered. The interior of the shop, with only a brand new counter, was clean and neat. First, I purchased a meal ticket for the "Mito Kohn"! Doro Tantanmen, and opted for the large size since it was the same price as the regular size. Watching the preparation process, the rich tonkotsu soup was poured into a bowl first. Then, thick noodles were added and mixed well. Once the noodles were coated with the rich tonkotsu soup, chopped chashu was added. On top of that, special chili oil and special soy sauce were drizzled, followed by chopped green onions and coriander, and finished with sprinkled ground sansho pepper. This whole process took about 5-6 minutes for one bowl. It was an enjoyable time. And then, I tasted it. After admiring the beautiful presentation, I mixed it thoroughly before eating. The thick noodles and rich soup required some effort to handle. The noodles had a great chewiness, which was delicious. The flavor was a blend of the mild base soup with a mix of numbing and spicy elements, making me break a sweat but enjoying the tasty combination. The coriander played its role occasionally, and before I knew it, I had finished the noodles. Lastly, when I asked for extra rice, I received an unexpected request for a bowl instead of a tea cup. They poured the extra rice directly into the bowl for free. This was also incredibly delicious. Today, I am grateful for my healthy body.

After 1pm with zero customers, I ordered the Mito Kombu ramen with a sense of worry. From the first bite, my mouth went numb and I couldn't really taste the flavor. At the same time, I started sweating uncontrollably. The deliciousness is vaguely felt at the back of the throat, but the numbness makes it hard to fully taste it as it passes through the throat. The complimentary rice refill is available, but you need to make eye contact with the staff to get it. The soup that comes with the rice refill was incredibly delicious. There is no doubt that this ramen is very well-crafted.

After finishing work, I finally visited this place that I had always been curious about as I passed by the front of the store. When I entered, there were no customers, so it was like having the place to myself. When I asked for a recommendation, I was told that the Black Mist is popular here. Despite asking for a recommendation, I decided to try the Dan Dan noodles after seeing good reviews. The pork bone-based Dan Dan noodles seemed quite rare, so I couldn't resist trying them (I'll try the recommended dish next time! haha). The thick noodles had a substantial volume, and the flavor was rich but not as heavy as I expected, thanks to the cilantro doing a great job. There was a decent level of spiciness and numbness, making it a big win for Dan Dan noodle lovers like me! There are many other menu items that caught my interest, so I plan to visit again soon.

You can choose from a variety of ramen options at "Bakaden" in Nishi-Nakajima, Osaka. I was torn between the burnt oil tonkotsu "Kurokiri" and the rich chicken white broth "Unkai" (salt), but ended up ordering the salt white broth which paired perfectly with the medium thick noodles. It was delicious! The terrine topping allows for flavor variations, although the ramen is already tasty on its own. I also tried the burnt oil tonkotsu and soy sauce white broth, but next time I'd like to try the tonkotsu broth.

It is a small shop with only counter seats. I purchased burnt oil tonkotsu ramen from the ticket machine and sat down. The staff didn't come to collect the ticket, so I was worried if my order went through. I waited as they were busy making ramen. It took less than 10 minutes for the ramen to come out. Unfortunately, I couldn't ask for green onions as they didn't collect the ticket properly. The tonkotsu soup looked quite thick and intense. It was rich and heavy, with a strong flavor of burnt oil. The noodles were medium-thick and curly. The toppings included wood ear mushrooms, chashu pork, and one boiled egg. The egg seemed to be just a plain boiled egg without any seasoning. The soup was so thick that it felt like eating tsukemen rather than regular ramen.

The famous restaurant nearby had a long line, so I checked on Tabelog and decided to go to Bakaden. When I went, the owner was working alone in silence. There were only two customers ahead of me. The portion was a bit small, but the thick soup was delicious without being too heavy. I enjoyed it very much. The next time, I want to try something different. The egg was also good.

It was my first time at this restaurant. It was okay. The soup was light and a bit salty. As for the terrine, I didn't really need that much. I ended up leaving some of the soup and terrine uneaten. I'm sorry about that. Thank you for the meal.

Peony (Spicy Miso Tonkotsu) for 900 yen + Rice for 150 yen. Today, I visited this place looking for some numbing spiciness. It is the second brand of the popular shop "Bakabo" located in Tenroku Nakazakicho. The thick tonkotsu soup with a spicy numbing sauce in the mazesoba was delicious. The wavy medium thick noodles had a good chewiness and mixed well with the sauce. The tender chashu was a bit hard to pick up with chopsticks. The crunchy texture of the wood ear mushrooms added a nice touch. The sweetness and richness of the flavored egg complemented the dish well. The combination of two types of Sichuan pepper numbing sensation and homemade chili oil was amazing. I finished the noodles in no time and added rice with spicy pickled vegetables on the side. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food. Located about a 4-minute walk from Minamikata Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka. Operating hours are 11:00-15:30 (L.O. 15:00) and 18:00-21:00 (L.O. 20:30). Closed on Sundays. No free parking available, but there are nearby coin parking lots. Arrived around 10:55. Received my bowl in about 6 minutes. Toppings included chashu, flavored egg, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and spicy miso. The noodles were medium thick wavy noodles from Miyane Food Industry. The soup was concentrated tonkotsu broth.

Baka-dono 2023/2/3 KUMA Survey (Daily Use) (80☆Excellent:/70◎Good/50◯Pass/40△Average Score) (Taste: 60%: Others 40%) ■Overall Rating 66/100 points (Taste: 75 points) Excellent mixed soba specialty shop! ■Store Overview The shop is located about a 5-minute walk from Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station. The exterior is new and the interior is bright and clean, with thorough infection prevention measures in place. The shop specializes in mixed soba. There are several types available, so it's recommended to try different ones to find the one that suits you. Today, I tried the "Kurokiri." It was an excellent mixed soba with thick noodles and addictive soup. The quality is quite high. Thank you for the meal. ■Ordered Dish/Price/Taste/Cost Performance ◯Kurokiri (mixed soba) ¥900/◎/× ------------Always critical detailed evaluation----------- ■Usage Scene 4 people (family) ◯・2 people ◯・One person ◯Banquetー・Businessー・Dateー ■Atmosphere/Service of the Shop 65/100 points 13 points (4 points pass mark, 5 points pass mark) Basic points 4 points ◇Shop appearance 7/10 points Near the station, clean, orderly ◇Interior 6/10 points Bright + clean + ◇Service 4/10 points Normal ◇Comfort 6/10 points Relaxing + infection prevention + ・Ticket vending machine ・When asked for recommendations, they don't recommend anything? ■Detailed Dish Evaluation 75/100 points 45 points The mixed soba was unexpectedly delicious. The thick soup and noodles mix well, with the soup's seasoning having a wonderful umami and saltiness! Noodles: Thick noodles around 18th rank. Slightly chewy, taste and appearance are ordinary. Soup: The mixed soba has a rich, pork umami and a moderate saltiness, surpassing Tenkaippin in its thick, sticky soup. It's perfectly balanced with the noodles as it's meant to be eaten as mixed soba. ■Cost Evaluation 40/100 points 8 points The mixed soba for ¥900 is quite a high-end shop. The boiled egg is default and delicious, but even when compared to statistics (visited shop statistics ¥780/retail price statistics ¥632), it's slightly expensive. Even considering the taste, it's an average score.

On the way back from my parents' house in Kobe, I unexpectedly stopped by the area near Shin-Osaka Station, which I rarely visit. It was before noon, so there were no waiting customers and I could enter the restaurant right away. Nearby popular shops had lines of about 30 people, but... I couldn't quite understand the menu name and category that didn't match in the top left corner of the vending machine. The toppings included boiled egg, chashu pork, wood ear mushrooms, chopped green onions... The ramen had a generous amount of sauce poured at the bottom of the bowl, enough to soak the noodles, and on the surface, black oil with a garlic scent was sprinkled. I lifted the noodles and slurped them up - the soup had a slightly viscous texture and a mild tonkotsu flavor. The fragrant black oil and subtle garlic flavor added to the taste. It was quite delicious. It felt like a combination of Kyoto's Tenichi and Kumamoto-style tonkotsu ramen (famous shop Black Tei). There was pickled mustard greens on the table, and when mixed in generously, it felt like I was in Kyushu! Is this really considered ramen? It's like a cross between ramen and tsukemen or abura soba. It was a slightly new experience - I enjoyed it quite a bit. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived at 10:50, only a 3-4 minute walk from the station, surrounded by vocational schools with many students walking around. Open at 11:00, the short-haired owner greeted us at 11:01 and led us to the clean, wooden counter. They use a ticket system for ordering, with a waiting bench inside. They offer black garlic ramen in regular size for 900 yen, bottled beer for 600 yen, and self-service pickled vegetables at the table. The ramen arrived in 4 minutes, and you can tell they put effort into the finishing touches. The beer came out with the ramen and the rich soup had just the right amount of flavor, with a strong black sesame oil taste. The thick soup coated the medium noodles well, and the pickled vegetables added a spicy kick. The quiet atmosphere with no background music matched the reserved owner. Upon leaving, he said "thank you" in a casual manner. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

On my way home from work, I was looking for a place to have dinner on a Sunday night. Most of the shops were closed, but I was relieved to find a ramen shop called "Bakaden" that was open. I purchased a ticket at the vending machine for the "Black Mist" ramen with burnt oil and pork bone broth for 900 yen (tax included). The ramen had a thick and rich broth, with a distinctive boiled egg that was pure white. It was a delicious meal, especially when paired with the free pickled vegetables. It was the perfect ramen for a night meal. I was really grateful for finding this place! Thank you for the meal!

I ordered the Mito Kouban for 900 yen. It was a soup-less tantanmen with no cilantro. The noodles were medium thickness straight noodles. The flavor was a bit strong with sansho pepper, giving it a slightly numbing spiciness. It was delicious.

I ordered the "Mito Komon" (extra large) for 1,000 yen. Couldn't hear what they were saying. Seems like this isn't the right place to sit. Sorry, the previous customer left some complaints. Not my problem though. Sorry, the customer on the right ordered extra rice. Pass them the bowl! They seem to be struggling with the system. Sorry, they're frantically inputting orders while customers are waiting. Sorry, the coriander looked good, but the flavors are too strong, like they're battling each other. Probably my first and last time here.

I felt like going to the south today, and since I found a parking spot, it became easier to go. I safely parked near here today and went in. The popular restaurant in the distance had a small line, and you could buy tickets from a machine. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and rice, and waited at the counter. After a while, the cooking started quietly. It took about 10 minutes to get my bowl. The appearance was ordinary, but the smell was different. It had a spicy scent. I lightly mixed it and slurped the noodles. It had a spicy kick, and the soup was thick and nicely coated the pork bone noodles. The noodles were a bit chewy, and you could taste the wheat flavor well. The balance was good and it was delicious. The crunchy wood ear mushrooms also mixed well with the pork bone. Creamy and crunchy, it was good. Lastly, I added the egg and finished my meal by devouring the rice and soup. It was a very satisfying experience. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal. Today's lunch: Tonkotsu ramen and rice - 950 yen. Parking fee - 200 yen.
