The famous yakitori bento from Hakodate's Hasegawa Store, now available in a limited edition version with curry-flavored rice. The rice has a surprisingly strong curry flavor. The recommended seasoning for the yakitori is salt, as indicated on the packaging. This store does not have seating for dining in, so it is for takeout only. Overall, it's a good option.

I couldn't decide what to have for dinner, so I chose this place near the inn. I've been eating a lot of seafood, so I wanted something fresh. I chose the sauce flavor, which was very rich and delicious. It was quite a challenge to eat one. Besides the sauce, there are also five other flavors like salt, and I would like to try a different flavor next time.

On the way back to the airport, I went to buy a bento. I ordered and waited inside the shop while they cooked it. I bought two yakitori bentos (619.92 yen each) and tea, then headed to the airport. After checking in, I sat in the lobby and enjoyed the warm bento. I removed three skewers of pork with sweet sauce from the bento lid. The pork from Hokkaido was delicious with its crispy grilling and flavorful fat. The people in Hakodate might like sweet flavors, as they included pickled ginger by default, but I also wished they had provided some chili pepper for extra spice.

I went shopping at Goryu no Kura in Kamikawa Daisetsu and then headed to the opening week of Hakodate Racecourse. But before that, let me introduce you to a Hakodate specialty. Let's buy some bento boxes and have lunch at the racecourse. So we went to Hasestu, which is the closest to the racecourse. When we arrived, I realized that this is the same place I visited last year. Inside, we ordered our bento boxes by writing on a piece of paper, specifying the size and flavor of the yakitori, and handing it to the lady inside. While waiting, we bought drinks and newspapers as the store also functions as a convenience store. When our order was ready, we took it and headed to the racecourse. This is my second time visiting Hakodate Racecourse, as I came here last year during the final week and now during the opening week. I sat down, examined the horses, watched the races, and when I got hungry, I ate the bento box which had yakitori (pork with sauce) on top of rice. This time, I tried the spicy version, and the spicy sauce on the meat made the rice even more delicious. It was simple and cost around 500 yen for three skewers. Enjoying Hakodate to the fullest.

I went on a short trip to Hakodate and decided to have breakfast there after arriving early in the morning! I've been to Hakodate a few times but never had the chance to try some of the local specialties, so I made it a point to do so this time! While wandering around near Yunokawa Onsen, I came across Hasegawa Store and decided to buy breakfast there. I ordered their famous yakitori bento (small) for 490 yen. Despite being called yakitori, it actually uses pork skewers and is grilled on site, so you can enjoy it fresh. There are five flavors available, including the classic sauce as well as salt and miso sauce. This time, I tried the sauce, but I wanted to try the other flavors as well! They spray red wine from Hakodate Wine on the meat while grilling to make it tender. Even the small size contained three pork skewers and was quite filling! Additionally, they have a bakery section where I bought fried bread (110 yen) and chikuwa bread (156 yen) to have for lunch later. The chikuwa bread is a savory bread with a Hokkaido-origin chikuwa filled with tuna salad. Both were very cost-effective, and I wanted to try more of their bread varieties! Hasegawa Store has so much to offer, and I'm eager to explore more of their menu in the future!

I visited Hasegawa Store for the first time yesterday and it was delicious, so I will definitely be going back. This shop is located between Hakodate Station and Hakodate Airport. They have a parking lot and the shop is quite spacious. This time, I ordered a mini bento and a few skewers. The skewers were tasty, but the bento was even better. The rice with seaweed and grilled chicken were exquisite. The bento also included grilled vegetables, making it a well-balanced meal. And all of this for only 380 yen, I was truly surprised. I hope they open stores in Kanto region as well.

On August 2, 2021, I visited my father in Hakodate who was hospitalized. Due to the pandemic, my two daughters were not allowed to visit, but thanks to the nurse's consideration, I was able to see my father at the entrance of his room. My wife and I were able to visit him as well. After the visit, we checked into the recommended hotel by my wife, Imagine Hotel & Resort Hakodate. Since we didn't make dinner reservations, we decided to get a room service meal from a nearby convenience store due to many restaurants being closed. We chose a three-color grilled pork skewer bento box as the main dish, along with Hokkaido-style Zangi and freshly grilled skewers. We paired the meal with Hokkaido-exclusive Sapporo Classic beer, Garana sour, and Northern Sangria sour. Imagine Hotel is located by the sea, and we could hear the sound of waves when we opened the window. Although having convenience store food in a hotel may seem cheap, enjoying a quiet night with the sound of waves and the view of fishing lights was a unique experience. Hakodate's signature convenience store, Hase-sto, satisfies customers with its grilled skewers.

To Hakodate. I started my journey quite early in the morning. I didn't have time to eat breakfast at the hotel, so I brought some tea I bought at a convenience store the night before and hit the road. It took about 3 and a half hours to reach Hakodate. The first thing I did was go to Hasegawa Store! Hasegawa Store is basically a convenience store, part of the Seicomart group. The selection is almost the same as other convenience stores, but they have something unique - yakitori bento. I stopped by to buy one. I walked into the store, which had a familiar convenience store feel, with a slightly smoky smell. I went up to the counter, filled out an order form for the yakitori bento, and waited for it to be cooked. I was given a numbered ticket, and soon enough, I received my yakitori bento for 490 yen. I put it in my bag and headed to Hakodate Racecourse. I found a bench inside and decided to have my breakfast there. When I opened the bento, there were 3 skewers of pork yakitori on top of rice with nori. The teriyaki sauce from the yakitori mixed with the rice, creating a delicious combination. Even though it had cooled down a bit, it was still tasty. I wanted to try other racecourse food as well, so I opted for a small bento, but the larger size would have more yakitori and rice. The teriyaki rice was delicious, and the yakitori skewers were flavorful. I bet they would taste even better with a cold beer. Overall, I enjoyed this convenient way to try one of Hakodate's specialties. It's true what they say - popular foods are usually delicious.

Hakodate's specialty gourmet dish, "Yakitori Bento." I am definitely a fan of the salt version. The seaweed laid on top adds a nice flavor. The skewers are made with pork, not chicken. The rice is also delicious and goes well with the meat. I always make sure to add either tsukune or beef skewers to my order (laughs). This time, I added tsukune. Since I am staying at a ryokan in Yunokawa, I bought the "Yakitori Bento Salt Large" from the Yunokawa branch before heading to the ryokan (laughs). It's just so delicious, I can't find any faults with it. How tasty it is! I love yakitori bentos. By the way, do you know the correct way to eat it as mentioned in the title? Actually, the container of the yakitori bento has a small dent to pull out the skewers. You insert the skewer into the dent, secure it with the top of the container, and pull it out in one go. This way, you can easily eat it like in the picture and enjoy it all at once (laughs). Thank you for the delicious meal! (´д`ι)

I should probably eat a bento box, but as soon as I land at Hakodate Airport, what I really want to eat is this. I should probably have a bento, but I don't like rice getting wet, so I chose skewers and some still good sticks. The sauce, which I don't usually like, is delicious. It has a salty taste and the pork is perfectly grilled. The grilled bento stick is wrapped in rice with miso sauce meat, and there is nori between the meat and rice. The meat is not overly sweet to bring out the miso flavor. Yeah, I've arrived in Hakodate.

The sign said "yakitori bento" but it actually had pork in it. I was already full but I wanted to try it, so I went to the shop. The price varied depending on the number of yakitori skewers. The 380 yen option came with 2 yakiton skewers and a vegetable skewer. I also ordered an additional yakitori negima. It was worth stopping by. There are other branches of this shop besides this one.

This is the Yunokawa store of the local convenience store Hasegawa Store in Hakodate. It is a little far from the hotels and ryokans in Yunokawa Onsen. I bought the salt grilled chicken bento for the first time in a while. It was a bit burnt... There is no eat-in space, and the parking lot is small, so it may be a little inconvenient.

I visited on a Saturday night. I went to see the night view from Mount Hakodate, a famous spot in Hakodate, but I couldn't see anything due to thick fog, so I returned. Fortunately, there was a store called Hasesto (Hasegawa Store) near the hotel, so I bought some beer for drinking in the evening and a yakitori bento, which is one of Hakodate's B-class gourmet dishes. Since the hotel's dinner was a buffet, I bought the "small" size bento. When I entered the store, I saw a kitchen in front of me, and the staff were grilling yakitori. I filled out an order form at the counter in front of the kitchen and handed it to the staff. They started cooking after receiving the order. The order for that day was as follows: yakitori bento (small) + tare-flavored pork liver + tare-flavored pork tongue + tare-flavored pork meat + spicy flavor. In the past, when I bought a salt-flavored yakitori bento, it didn't go well with rice, so I learned from that mistake and now always get tare-flavored yakitori. In the past, there was no spicy flavor, so this time I tried it for the first time. The bento and yakitori were ready in less than 10 minutes. I took them back to the hotel with beer. The illustration of a pig grilling yakitori by the staff is surreal. I removed the skewers using the lid and container of the bento. The rich tare flavor combined with the fat of the pork makes you crave rice. Of course, it's also perfect as a snack with beer. The spicy flavor I tried for the first time this time is indeed spicy. It's not suitable as a rice dish, but it's perfect as a snack. When eating the skewered pork meat, I feel like I've come back to Hokkaido. When I lived in Hokkaido, I had no problem eating yakitori made of pork, but I often hear from friends from outside the region or tourists, "Why is it called yakitori when it's made of pork?" Personally, I think it's because there has been a tradition in Hokkaido of eating pork, which has always been cheap and readily available. In my childhood, even sukiyaki was made with pork. It wasn't until I was older that I learned about sukiyaki made with beef on TV.

In July 2019, I stayed at a hot spring inn in Yunokawa Onsen. Feeling a bit hungry, I went to a nearby convenience store. In Hokkaido, when it comes to convenience stores, Seicomart is the popular choice. However, in Hakodate, there is a local convenience store called Hasegawa Store, which is affiliated with Seicomart. It has a nostalgic feel and offers a variety of Seicomart brand products. My main target was the yakitori bento. It's not actually chicken yakitori, but pork belly cooked in a yakitori style with a sweet sauce, served on top of rice. Have you ever seen anything like it before? The pork belly and green onions are skewered alternately, resembling the traditional "negima" yakitori. The rice is topped with seaweed, and the skewers are placed on top. It even comes with pickled ginger for a refreshing touch. The pork is cooked to perfection with a delicious sweet sauce. By the way, in the southern Hokkaido area, "yakitori" commonly refers to pork. Keep that in mind!

A long journey to getting on the plane('~`;) A leisurely stay at Takubokutei this time♪ Looking forward to the dinner at Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Takubokutei! Breakfast buffet at Takubokutei♪ Enjoying the Hakodate Morning Market at Sakae-ya Yosakoi Shokudo with a choice of seafood mini bowls! The breakfast at Takubokutei is the same too (sweat) Next time, I'll choose another place to stay... The reason for choosing Hakodate... I wanted to eat Hasegawa's yakitori bento! Half of the reason was that, so we stopped by Hasegawa's Yukawa shop on the way to the airport from Takubokutei. We also bought some bread at the shop. If they have limited edition items like this, of course, I'll order them! We ate the yakitori bento at the airport lounge. The yakitori bento Triple comes in three flavors: sauce, salt, and spicy. Yummy snacks and canned beer from the vending machine in the lounge♪ And unexpectedly delicious bread from Hasegawa Store, like the anko donut and salt bread.※The cocktail sausages were all eaten by the little boy without me noticing. So, Hasegawa has not only yakitori bento, but also delicious bread! No one had recommended me their bread before, but it was surprisingly good.

This was my first time trying a yakitori bento in Hakodate, so I was looking forward to it. Orders are written on a form rather than spoken. I ordered the spicy flavor. It had a bit of spiciness and a strong flavor, and it was delicious even when cold.

On the second night in Hakodate, I tried the local specialty dish, yakitori bento! It is a Hakodate specialty that was recommended by Hiroshi Oizumi, I think. I bought it and decided to eat it in my hotel room. The yakitori bento set (600 yen) comes with Hasest Zangi (215 yen), chicken skin and chicken meat (each 100 yen), and Ribbon Napolin (110 yen). The carbonation in the drink is strong but it is easy to drink and delicious. The Zangi tempted me with its words! It also comes with a sausage and a thick tamagoyaki. The Zangi has a mild flavor, more like fried chicken. I also bought two skewers. The chicken skin skewer with salt was delicious! The chicken meat skewer with salt and green onions was also very tasty. Now, the yakitori bento! It is actually pork meat, not chicken. The set includes 3 pork skewers and 1 vegetable skewer. There are 5 types of sauce (regular sauce, salt, salted sauce, umakara, and miso sauce) and I chose the regular sauce. The pork belly meat goes well with the green onions. The sauce is sweet and savory. The meat was a bit tough, probably because it had been sitting for a while. Overall, the local specialty dish was delicious and satisfying.

On the 6th day of my business trip to Hakodate, which happened to be a holiday, I finished the morning site work around 1 pm as planned. Before preparing for the next day, I stopped by the nearest Hasegawa Store and got a famous yakitori bento to go. I have had Hasegawa Store's yakitori bento three times in the past at different branches, such as Nakamichi, Chiyodai, and Goryokaku. I also tried the yakitori bento from Taihei, a partner of Hasegawa Store in Nemuro, in 2017. For those who are not from Hokkaido, yakitori here refers to pork skewers. In Hokkaido, especially in the southern region, pork skewers are commonly found on the menu at yakitori restaurants and izakayas. Hasegawa Store's yakitori bento is made to order and carefully grilled. Out of the 13 branches in Hakodate, 5 are open 24 hours, while the rest operate until midnight. Many people come to buy yakitori as a snack to enjoy with drinks at home. There are four flavors available, including sauce, salt, salted sauce, and spicy. On this day, I ordered the medium size (250g of rice, 3 pork skewers, and 1 vegetable skewer) with salt flavor. If you stay in Hakodate for a few days, you must try this aside from seafood and ramen. #HakodateBusinessTrip #HakodateGourmet #HakodateBusinessTripDay6Lunch #HasegawaStore #Hasesto #YakitoriBento #YummyYummy

Hidden gem review. When it comes to Hakodate, Gray, Lucky Pierrot, and of course, Hasegawa Store come to mind. It's a convenience store. Their yakitori bento is a must-try. Despite being yakitori, it's actually pork from Muroran. It's delicious, especially the tare yakiton. This bento is B-grade delicious. Highly recommended for breakfast in Hakodate. Much better than the morning market. Seriously. It was really good.

I came to Hakodate for 1 night and 2 days to see monkeys soaking in hot springs. On the way back, I stopped by Hasegawa Store and saw a bento box... pork belly bento. I used to eat a similar bento at Tayee in Nemuro over 10 years ago and it was delicious. The pork is cut into just the right size and there is plenty of meat. The texture is good, ah, nostalgic ( ̄▽ ̄). I bought it for dinner in Sapporo. When I got home, I devoured it! Of course, it was delicious!
