In the evening after work, I went to a soba restaurant called "Yuzuru-san" without checking if they serve alcohol. To my surprise, they didn't have any alcohol options, not even as part of a set. Disappointed but determined, I decided to try their soba after a long time. I chose the "Daily Special" which was the "Nameko Oroshi" soba for 690 yen. The portion was generous with plenty of chopped seaweed and black grains in the white soba. The soba noodles were slightly soft with a bit of slipperiness, lacking in fragrance and firmness, but I didn't mind it. The broth, served in a separate container, was cold and filled with nameko mushrooms, bonito flakes, and daikon radish. Despite being affordable, they didn't skimp on the toppings. The soba water was light and crispy, topped with plenty of tempura flakes. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Visited around 4 pm on a Sunday. The Sapporo underground shopping area was bustling with young people, but the soba restaurant was surprisingly empty in the evening. This chain soba restaurant changed its name from "Goma Soba Tsuruki" to the current name about 10 years ago. There should still be some stores in Asahikawa with the old name, so perhaps they were under different management originally. I ordered the Oomori Soba (680 yen) and it took about 10 minutes for it to be served. The soba had a nice sesame aroma and the noodles were smooth and chewy. The dipping sauce was rich and on the spicy side. In addition to green onions and wasabi, you could also freely add tempura flakes from the table. The hot soba broth served in the middle was warm and comforting. Despite the hot summer weather, the restaurant was cool and comfortable thanks to the strong air conditioning. However, it was a bit questionable to see many dirty dishes left on the counter near the kitchen even in the evening, suggesting it might have been crowded during lunchtime.

After leaving the sauna and doing some shopping, it was already dinner time. I decided to have some refreshing soba at the Ayatsuru Apia branch. On Sundays and holidays, the Tempura Soba set is a good deal. I sat at the counter and ordered the following: Beer (medium bottle) ¥600, Appetizer ¥240, Tempura Soba ¥1,100, Extra noodles ¥190. First, they served me a Sapporo Classic beer, which is a limited edition beer from Hokkaido. The appetizer was deep-fried soba noodles with sesame, which paired well with the beer. The Tempura Soba came with tempura shrimp, seaweed, green pepper, and eggplant. The tempura was crispy and delicious. The soba noodles were smooth and had a decent chewiness. The extra noodles portion was quite generous. After finishing the meal, I was stuffed! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I have always liked "Tsuruki", now known as "Yuzuru", since the time when this melody was playing. The quality of the sesame soba and the price for this quality are mentioned, but for me, the quality of the tempura (especially the chicken tempura) and the portion size are very attractive and I love it. In the past, they used to have all-you-can-drink, and I used to go there often when I was younger. I might have actually learned about soba here... and even now, just seeing this yellow sign makes me excited. I really like it. I was surprised when they changed the name of all the stores like "Since there were other soba shops called Tsuruki, we will change our name!" Haha. Anyway, I had the half-size soba and chicken tempura rice bowl, and it was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal. The chicken tempura rice bowl and cold soba set cost 980 yen. I also like the menu items that the owner comes up with, like the large conger eel tempura or curry soba, to keep things interesting.

Stopped by at an underground passageway. Recommended the sesame soba? Ordered the sesame soba without hesitation. The service was quick, I think. As for the flavor of the soba, unfortunately, it wasn't very strong... The sesame flavor was definitely there, making it clear that it was sesame soba, but the impact of the soba itself was too weak. So, I decided to eat at a place where I could quickly grab a meal. I had eaten soba the night before, but I never get tired of it, so it was okay. I was seated at a small table for two with a partition, but the distance between me and the person next to me was really close! I ordered the Chidori Soba. Even though it was cold soba, it was fine because Sapporo is always warm. The soba was like sesame soba and came with lots of toppings like bonito flakes, seaweed, green onions, grated daikon radish, and tempura bits. It was a Bukkake-style dish, but they also provided soba-yu (hot soba water), so I thought it would be nice to have a small cup for drinking soba-yu. I've been to a restaurant in Oyachi before, and this place is convenient for a quick meal. Thank you for the meal!

On the last day in Sapporo, I had soba noodles. In Kansai, we don't eat soba noodles. We prefer udon noodles. There is a chain restaurant called Miyoshi that I like better, but I chose this place because they offer carryout. I ordered cold soba noodles and tororo rice. It was delicious. Overtime... I'm so tired~ So I went to Playtsuru (Apia store). I ordered the chicken and egg tempura rice bowl set. It arrived in just 10 minutes! It was a huge portion! I dug into the cold soba right away, and it felt so good on my tired body! The chicken and egg tempura rice bowl had a pretty good portion. The chicken and egg tempura was deliciously sweet. As for the soba, it was different from regular soba... but well, it was tasty! I finished everything, even the soba broth! Thank you for the meal! I felt like eating soba, so I visited a soba restaurant in the underground walkway of Sapporo Station. This time, I ordered the parent and child tempura rice bowl set with extra large soba noodles. It was nice to have grated yam and soba seeds included in the set (*´ω｀). The sesame soba here has a good flavor and is quite delicious, considering it's a chain restaurant! So, let's go to Toyotsuru. I'll have the Tempura Soba. It's a special menu for holidays, only 1,030 yen including tax, and it comes with shrimp tempura. It's surprisingly cheap! This is my first time trying sesame soba, but I couldn't really taste the sesame flavor... Maybe I need to try it without dipping it in the sauce to fully appreciate it. The noodles didn't have much chewiness either. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side and a little thick. The wasabi was really good though. The tempura had two crispy shrimp along with bell pepper, eggplant, and seaweed. The food almost spilled over the edge of the plate. On the last night in Sapporo, I was still full but wanted to drink and satisfy my craving. Since I'm in Hokkaido, I thought I should have some soba. I went to a place in the Sapporo Station underground and quickly enjoyed my favorite smooth sesame soba and a tempura set. It included two shrimp tempura, eggplant, green pepper, and seaweed tempura, all for 1,100 yen! I also had two highballs. The place closed at 10 pm, so last order was at 9:30 pm. The customers were diverse, from students to families. There were many table seats but also a counter. The cost performance was high, and the portions were generous. It was perfect for my needs. Sapporo has a high level of delicious food and good cost performance. I want to live here and don't want to leave. I was able to enjoy my meal quickly without getting too drunk on this kind of night. Having lunch in Sapporo! I came to Sapporo Station. We decided to have soba for lunch, so we chose a restaurant that I have never been to before, which is Yutsuru located next to McDonald's in Apia. We arrived around 12:30 pm. There were 3 groups of people waiting, but since there were people paying inside the restaurant and some tables were not yet cleared, I thought our turn would come soon, so we wrote our name on the waiting list and waited. After 2-3 minutes, we were seated inside. Since it's a restaurant in Apia, the turnover is fast. The restaurant has table seating and a counter. Looking at the menu, there were set menus available, but we weren't that hungry to order a set, so I chose the Chicken Tempura Soba. It arrived in about 5 minutes. Let's dig in. I poured the sauce over the soba first. The sesame flavor was light and nice. The soba noodles were smooth and tasty, although I prefer them a bit firmer. The sauce was delicious, with a flavor that would appeal to everyone. And the chicken tempura. There were three large pieces of tempura on top. The batter was crispy and the chicken was juicy and delicious! It was a tasty tempura that wasn't too heavy. Since it's located in Apia, it's a convenient place to dine. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly. I ordered the Toriten Oroshi Soba, which is cold soba with tempura chicken on top, for 870 yen. The soba arrived about 8 minutes after ordering. The broth was gentle and very delicious. The soba noodles were cooked well, but slightly lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. The tempura chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, very delicious. Personally, I felt that the portion was a bit too much for one person, so I thought it would be great if they had a half portion option. Next time, I will try the hot soba! Thank you for the meal.

The appetizers included soba miso cucumber, chicken tempura, camembert cheese tempura, yellowtail tempura, hanpen (fish cake), and pickled ginger (I had a second serving of pickled ginger tempura that day). I thoroughly enjoyed my solo drink at the Playzuru Apia store after work that day!
