A while ago, a restaurant serving clay pot rice opened in Suehiro. It seems to have been quite popular in Obihiro, and now a new branch has opened in Asahikawa. It seems that the company in Asahikawa is the one running it. You can get in right away. In Asahikawa, no matter what kind of restaurant it is, a huge crowd always flocks to it when it first opens. Waiting for 1-2 hours is normal. But that's not the case here, haha. Because after a while, you can get in right away. It seems you can also make reservations online, but on this day, it was just before 8 pm on a weekday... I got in without waiting at all, haha. The main menu is the clay pot silver rice, which comes with side dishes in a set meal style. There also seems to be various seasonal side dishes. I've included a few photos of some selections. If you want to see them all, click here. Saba... Grilled mackerel with miso and salt. Both are good side dishes to go with rice. Hmm, it's a tough choice... maybe I'll go with the mackerel with miso... it's quite restrained. The autumn salmon marinated in Otokoyama sake. This also looks good. Just the silver rice alone... marinated in sake lees from Otokoyama, autumn salmon. This looks good too. But how much rice do you get if you just order the silver rice...? This is something to consider. Eating freshly cooked rice with raw egg. That sounds good too. Kama meshi. I really struggled with this one. Chicken karaage and seasonal limited edition eel kama meshi. But 1628 yen... that's a bit of a dilemma. Well, it seems cheap for eel, but... I want to try the silver rice first. I'll save the eel for next time. But... the eel is only available in summer. I looked into it and it seems the onigiri is quite large. A child couldn't finish one, apparently. You can eat it as a set with side dishes, or on its own. Side dishes. You can also order side dishes individually. So, you can have two or three side dishes with the silver rice. But... it didn't say anything about extra servings. I wonder how much rice you get. It takes about 20 minutes to cook. So, please be patient. It was mentioned. Well, it's worth waiting for something delicious. Waiting for cooking is no trouble at all. Chicken karaage - 605 yen I ordered the chicken karaage as a single item. They used chicken breast. So, it was a bit dry, but still, for breast meat, it was tender and juicy. I wish you could order as many pieces as you like instead of just in a set. Grilled salmon belly - 693 yen I ordered this as a single item. But is it bigger than this? This is the grilled salmon belly that came with the salmon belly grilled rice set (1188 yen). Well, even as a single item, this is quite fatty. It's seasoned with salt without soy sauce, so you can eat five bowls of silver rice with just this. Marinated pork loin - 1210 yen After much deliberation, I chose this. I actually wanted to eat a variety of small side dishes. But well, with karaage, salmon, and meat, this should be enough. I'm just worried if there's enough rice. Three small side dishes - small rolled omelette, simmered hijiki seaweed, pickled daikon radish. The side dishes came like this. By the way, the salmon belly rice set came with spinach with sesame dressing. The side dishes vary depending on the set. Silver rice. A 10-second video of freshly cooked rice. I want to eat rice like this every day. Freshly cooked rice makes you want to eat as much as you can. But, I'd probably gain a lot of weight, haha. Still, even without side dishes, this alone is enough. Hmm, freshly cooked rice is so delicious. I could eat as many bowls as I want. If 1 pot is 260g and 1 bowl is 180g, it's a bit on the smaller side. Well, for a normal person, a slightly larger portion would suffice. For men, they might want to eat a bit more. However, it seems they don't offer extra servings. If you wanted to eat more, you'd have to go to another place, haha. There's quite a lot of volume in the marinated pork loin. They arranged it nicely, with cabbage standing on top.
