Popular tsukemen restaurant "Tokiya" has a sister shop where the chicken and pork no-chemical seasoning tsukemen is popular. My favorite is the rich paitan tsukemen. The rich dipping sauce is simple with chopped green onions and chashu. The straight thick noodles go well with the flavorful soup, making it an exquisite tsukemen. It's also nice that you can enjoy a free shime rice by adding plum meat sauce to white rice, and mixing the dipping soup with the ramen soup. I usually have the tsukemen, but I have been curious about the Yodogawa Black for a while. It's a soy sauce ramen with a rich seafood flavor, and the refreshing noodles complement the ramen well. The side menu chashu rice, seasoned with black pepper, is also recommended to enjoy with ramen or tsukemen.

I visited a ramen shop that I had been curious about for a while. I arrived a bit early (around 11:30 am) so there was no wait. I ordered the rich Paitan tsukemen (regular size) and purchased a meal ticket. After that, I was seated and waited for a while. The tsukemen arrived with a thick broth and thick whole wheat noodles. When I dipped the noodles and ate them, the seafood aroma spread in my mouth, just as it looked - quite rich. I thought I might get thirsty later, but after finishing the noodles, a small bowl of dashi rice was served. I poured the remaining broth over it, which was a perfect way to finish the meal. I even diluted the remaining broth and finished it. I usually prefer ramen over tsukemen, but this meal made me realize that tsukemen can be good too once in a while.

Today, I heard that there is a delicious tsukemen restaurant with noodles, so I went to Phoenix no Namida near Aeon Style Higashiyodogawa. I tried their rich and creamy paitan tsukemen, and while many places have similar dishes, the soup here had a slightly different aftertaste.

I visited this place based on the high ratings on Tabelog. I arrived around 9 PM on a Saturday and was seated at a table without any wait. It operates on a food ticket system. I tried the Rich Spicy Paitan Tsukemen for 960 yen, with 300g of noodles (you can add 80 yen for 450g). The broth contains not only chicken but also vegetables and seafood. The spiciness from the chili peppers was quite strong, and I couldn't taste much of the Paitan flavor... I could feel the seafood. I would like to try a non-spicy menu item next time. The noodles were not too thick, they mixed well with the soup, and were of a good length for easy eating. The staff were all polite and provided pleasant service.

The area around Hankyu Awaji Station from Hankyu Kami-shinjo Station is a battleground for ramen. Because I sweat a lot, I had given up on eating ramen in the hot summer, but I thought it would be okay if it was tsukemen! So, I went to this place that I had been curious about. There are usually customers waiting, but on this day, I was seated right away. I bought a meal ticket and then sat down. I ordered the "Rich Paitan Tsukemen" in regular size. I carefully read the notes on how to eat tsukemen that were in front of me. The soup was rich and had a delicious seafood flavor, which I liked. I tried the noodles on their own, and they were chewy and delicious, and they mixed well with the soup. I was surprised by the rice in broth. I poured a few cups of the leftover soup over it, and it was so delicious because of the good broth. Finally, I finished by mixing the soup with water. Thank you for the meal!

I knew this place was popular, but it was my first time visiting. The thick soup was intense, and I remember there was a note warning not to dip too much. It was delicious at first, but towards the end, the richness of the soup made it hard to swallow, and my throat started to reject it. If I had tried this when I was younger, my opinion would probably be different.

Visited for Sunday lunch. The special thick Paitan tsukemen was priced at 1,280 yen. It was packed when I arrived. The broth is incredibly rich. It's a unique tsukemen that you don't come across often! I found that if I ate it normally, I would run out of dipping sauce quickly. The richness is really good! However, I personally found the chashu to be a bit salty due to the strong pepper seasoning. They also serve a dashi rice as a finishing touch. Pour a few cups of dipping sauce over the dashi rice. It tastes delicious! Be careful not to run out of dipping sauce.

Lunch time on July 30, 2023. I went to Phoenix no Namida in Higashiyodogawa Ward. I decided to try something different and went for their tsukemen (dipping ramen). I had the chicken tsukemen with extra toppings as part of the Ramen Circuit service, which made it feel quite luxurious. The flavor was a bit strong for my liking, but overall it was delicious and the side of rice was a good deal. #Osaka #Awaji #Ramen #RamenCircuit #PhoenixnoNamida

I visited for lunch at Ramen Circuit, the 10th stop on my ramen tour. They use carefully selected ingredients to make their soup, all extracted from ingredients with a distinct shape. I usually prefer ramen over tsukemen, but when I was deciding what to order with my food ticket, the staff recommended the tsukemen, saying it's more popular. So, I went with the light chicken tsukemen with a special topping. The staff were generous and added extra noodles for free. The rice with soup was delicious, and I even added some soup to the dipping sauce. I forgot to take a picture of the soup though. The noodles were like fresh pasta and very tasty. The portion was large and a bit difficult to eat with chopsticks, so I used a fork. I should have added extra green onions to the dipping sauce. The staff had cool T-shirts, and they kindly let me take a photo. They were also very friendly. Payment is cash only.

Order: Special Tsukemen at a shop affiliated with Tokiya. This shop not only offers tsukemen but also ramen, which is a unique feature. However, I couldn't resist ordering the tsukemen here. The special allows you to get a free large portion of noodles, so I ended up getting the extra serving. It's a great service, but be warned that the large portion here is huge! The tsukemen features thick noodles dipped in a rich, creamy soup, and you eat it by lightly dipping the noodles. It's a classic tsukemen dish that everyone should enjoy, with the large, flavorful chashu being delicious on its own. Adding the soup for flavor variation is also a nice touch. Lastly, the meal is finished with a serving of rice in broth, which is exactly the same as Tokiya's and consistently delicious. It's quite a walk from Awaji Station, so it might be a shop mainly for locals. This chain also excels in customer service, so if you're a tsukemen lover living in Awaji, you should definitely visit!

On a regular weekday afternoon, it's about a 10-minute walk east from JR Awaji Station. The casual interior has a counter that seats 7 people, along with one 4-person table and two 2-person tables. Purchase your meal from the ticket machine at the entrance, then take a seat at the high chair counter. This restaurant is part of the Ramen Circuit, so show your booklet to receive a special dish worth 400 yen. I opted for a regular portion as I'm on a diet. After a short wait, the ramen arrived. The whole wheat flat noodles were topped with pepper and sauce, offering a chewy and elastic texture. The dipping broth was a rich and thick chicken white broth with seafood and soy sauce flavors, which complemented the chicken umami well. The abundance of green onions added a crunchy texture and a touch of bitterness to the high-viscosity dipping broth, which coated the noodles well. You can ask to have the dipping broth reheated midway through the meal, ensuring it stays hot until the end. The staff were friendly and easy to approach. The sliced pork belly char siu was heavily peppered on the surface, resulting in a dominant spiciness from the pepper and a slightly burnt and dry texture from being seared too much. To finish, I ordered the soup-infused rice, which was enjoyable when mixed with the dipping broth. As the dipping broth was delicious, you may not need the pepper and sauce on the noodles, and reducing the pepper and searing on the char siu could enhance its flavor. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Actually, I was planning to go to Phoenix, but it was temporarily closed. I tried again and this time I was able to go without any wait, lucky me (there were customers waiting later). The taste was a good balance between light and rich, with delicious chicken soup and noodles... so tasty! The kaiware (radish sprouts) added a nice touch and I didn't get tired of it, finished it all. I want to go again next time, maybe I'll try the main store too.

Black Ramen for 900 yen. I'm sorry, but it felt like eating ramen soaked in tsukemen soup. The taste is just like tsukemen dipping sauce. I couldn't help but think it's overpriced for what it is. I prefer ramen, so I chose ramen, but...

Spicy ramen special. It's moderately spicy. Even at night, you can get extra noodles for free. I prefer to have less noodles in my special order because I always end up leaving some behind with a regular portion. For the finishing touch, there is a choice between a traditional Japanese dashi rice or a creamy rice with a hint of cheese, which I personally prefer. Today, I had the traditional Japanese dashi rice.

The atmosphere was really nice. Since it is a chain of restaurants, they serve a complimentary rice dish at the end, which was delicious. I highly recommend it for those who like thick and gooey soup. The soup was so thick that it almost ran out at the end. It was amazing. There was no parking available.

I arrived at the restaurant just before 12 o'clock on a regular day and was able to enter without waiting in line. I had the chicken tsukemen (¥930) and enjoyed it. The portion of noodles was 300g, which seemed like a lot, but I finished it easily. The tsukemen comes with a side of dashi rice, which was incredibly delicious as a way to finish the meal. Thank you for the meal!

It was delicious as always! I was able to visit after a year and a half. The soy sauce ramen at Aojima Shokudo in Akihabara and the spicy chicken tsukemen at Phoenix are the best in my opinion. Even if it's not close by and I can't come often, I want to eat it at least once every six months. I love the taste of this spicy chicken tsukemen the most, and the surprise comes from the second half of the meal, the soup with rice. I remember the shock I felt when I first ate it every time. I usually don't like tsukemen soup because it's too strong, but the spicy chicken soup doesn't feel too strong, yet it has a rich and contradictory flavor. The routine of tsukemen, rice with soup, and soup dilution is the best. I dilute the soup at a 1:1 ratio. Of course, I finish every last drop.

SPECIAL Spicy Ramen for 1280 yen. I felt like having chicken and pork bone soup after a long time, so I visited this place for the third time. Free extra noodles, and since I was really hungry, I of course got the extra noodles. Now, for the taste - the rich chicken and pork bone soup was delicious, it had the best of both worlds. The whole wheat noodles were full of wheat flavor and had a great chewy texture. The dipping sauce was generously filled with diced chashu which provided a satisfying bite. The large chashu on top of the noodles was crispy and flavorful. The chewy texture of the bamboo shoots was also great. The thick sliced chashu on top was crispy and delicious. The soft boiled seasoned egg had a rich flavor, no complaints there. I enjoyed mixing grated garlic on the dipping sauce for a different taste - it was so junky and I loved it. To finish, I poured the dipping sauce over the rice to enjoy the final taste. It was delicious - thank you for the meal!

Yodogawa Black ramen with flavored egg topping. I arrived just after 12 o'clock, so I had to wait a bit. The noodles and rice in the dipping sauce were delicious, but I'm not a fan of dipping noodles, so I tried this instead. Even though it's not Char Siu ramen, there were plenty of Char Siu slices at the bottom. There were also lots of seasoned bamboo shoots and roughly chopped green onions on top. The seafood-based soup had a strong salty flavor. I wish they would make this with the noodles from the dipping ramen.

Today, I visited this place with a companion who recommended the delicious chashu. I chose the special dipping noodles and it arrived in less than 10 minutes. I started with the noodles, which were the typical medium thickness for dipping noodles. When dipped in the sauce, they were quite flavorful. It was a rich seafood and pork bone dipping noodles. While the toppings were tasty, I didn't find anything particularly outstanding compared to other restaurants. The large slices of chashu were also nicely seared and delicious, but not something I would pay extra for. Awajishima Station area is a highly competitive ramen area, so I would like to explore other shops a bit more. Thank you for the meal.
