The time is 13:20. Today, I had some free time so I decided to have a leisurely lunch. I visited a suburban Chinese restaurant called "Rakushoku Chinese Feien." Despite it being a bit late, there were 4 cars in the parking lot and 4 groups of 9 people in the tatami seating area, with no one at the counter. I ordered the "Shrimp Chili Omelette Lunch" from the lunch menu. As I was waiting, customers finished their meals and left, while new customers kept coming in. It was surprisingly busy. When the "Shrimp Chili Omelette Lunch" arrived, I gave thanks to the food gods and dug in. The omelette in the center of the plate, topped with sweet and spicy chili sauce and plump shrimp, was delicious. I could eat bowls of rice with it. "Rakushoku Chinese Feien" - Thank you for the meal. #Tomakomai City Tokiwa-cho #Rakushoku Chinese Feien #Shrimp Chili Omelette Lunch #No smoking

After mountain climbing, the "Choose your noodles and rice set" is a great deal at 940 yen. I ordered the Chicken Rice and Tantanmen. Both the rice and noodles were a full portion for one person. The ramen soup was rich, but I wished it had a bit more spiciness. The noodles were curly and smooth, very tasty. The Chicken Rice was delicious when mixed well, with cabbage adding a nice crunch. I finished all the soup, feeling happy and full. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely come back. Next time, I'll try the Tomakomai Yakisoba in a large portion.

Today, the ramen shop I planned to visit first was supposed to open at 11:00, but it got delayed to 11:30. Since the shop doesn't have a website, the only way to confirm is by phone, and I relied solely on information from a certain map app, which was my bad! I'm not in the mood for another ramen shop, so I'll kill time at "Hien" before heading to the original one I intended to visit! The set meals have a lot of dishes, but ramen is served in one bowl, which feels easier to handle... but let's be real, having two meals in a row is not really easy, what am I even saying! The parking lot seems a bit tricky, with narrow spaces marked with diagonal lines, especially scary when leaving! The set meal I ordered was "Osen Chicken Pieces [Spicy Stir-Fried Chicken Karaage]" (¥950). I was planning to order the Chinese Shrimp Chili Omelette, but my mood changed. The local pronunciation is "Tāchénchīkai," but it's a bit complicated, so let's remember the Japanese translation, haha. The plate arrived in about 10 minutes, with rice, the main chicken karaage, salad, and soup. The karaage was in easy-to-eat sizes, juicy and tender! It's surprisingly mild in spiciness, but the soy sauce flavor is well infused, which is also delicious. The thin batter is nice, but the crispy texture is a bit lacking due to the generous sauce. Preferences vary, and the tenderness of the karaage is also a good thing. It's rich in flavor, perfect for pairing with alcohol, I'd want a drink if I wasn't driving! The sautéed bell peppers, caramelized onions, and crunchy wood ear mushrooms are also great, love that chewy texture! There's a lot of rice though, the main dish has a strong flavor, so it helps to balance it out, but it's hard to decide on the eating ratio, haha. I could use a bit more salad, the addition is appreciated, but a little more would be nice! Finished with a hot coffee after the meal. With coffee included at this price, the cost-performance ratio is good. Next time, I'll go for noodles, and I'm curious about the Katsu Curry Ramen, haha. Thank you for the meal.

Suffering from a addiction to an ankake sauce, I found this restaurant on Tabelog and decided to go. It was past lunchtime so there were not many customers. I imagine it would be busy during peak lunch hours. The exterior of the restaurant looked like a Chinese restaurant, but the interior felt more like a teishoku (set meal) restaurant with a counter seating for 4 and a small raised seating area. The lunch menu looked delicious, but I decided to order the thinly sliced pork ankake yakisoba for 900 yen. It was so delicious from the first bite to the last! It was piping hot. The sweetness, richness of flavor, firmness and amount of the sauce, everything was satisfying. It had pork, bamboo shoots, and green peppers. The colors were appetizing as well. Even after finishing it, I felt like ordering another dish. The service was also very good, which impressed me. Finding a delicious restaurant makes me feel happy. I am looking forward to my next visit. What should I order next time?

This was my first visit. I went during lunch time and the parking lot was full, with the restaurant crowded with customers. The "ankake" seemed to be popular, as everyone was eating it, so I ordered the yakisoba. It was served quickly and the taste was good, so I was satisfied.

I had some errands in Kinoka and was looking for a restaurant with lunch sets on Tabelog... I found this place that offers a choice between noodles and rice. They also have lunch menus available on weekends, which is appealing. I was also curious about their Tomakomai yakisoba... but I ended up choosing the weekday set menu with fried rice and tantanmen. It cost 940 yen. I decided to start with the tantanmen before the noodles got soggy. The flavor was strong, maybe a bit too salty. The fried rice was delicious. Did they put finely chopped zha cai in the tantanmen? I haven't had it like that before. Thank you for the meal.

I found a Chinese restaurant that I had been curious about for a while, and it turned out to be surprisingly close! It was a snowy day in Tomakomai, and when I arrived, everyone was busy shoveling snow, so I was the only customer. The menu had so many options to choose from, it was hard to decide. The prices were quite reasonable, and not just for lunch - they also had dinner sets which were very affordable. You could choose one type of rice and one type of soup from a selection, in the "rice and soup set" for 940 yen, which was a great deal. You could choose from dishes like Egg Fried Rice, Tianjin Rice, or Bang Bang Chicken Rice for the rice, and Salt or Soy Sauce Scallion Oil Noodles, or Dan Dan Noodles for the soup. All of them were tempting. I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken Rice and the Dan Dan Noodles for 940 yen. The Dan Dan Noodles were slightly spicy with minced meat and crushed nuts in chili oil, but not too hot. It lacked a bit of sesame flavor, but it was delicious! The Bang Bang Chicken Rice came with Bang Bang Chicken, lettuce, cabbage, and rice all on one plate. They told me to mix it well, so I did, but it turned out to be too salty. The taste was good, but too salty for my liking. Maybe I should have ordered fried rice instead. But overall, it was cheap and tasty, so I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal! It was convenient that they accepted all electronic money, and I paid with PayPay!

It has been 2 years since we last visited this restaurant for lunch with my wife, our 13th visit. The place is not bad, but can a restaurant be this cold? We could really use some blankets at least. I had the spicy tantanmen, while my wife had the five-ingredient yakisoba. When the yakisoba arrived... it looked like there was less than before. My wife said, "It's lukewarm! The cabbage is soggy and there are only 2 pieces of carrots?" Then my tantanmen arrived... also lukewarm! My wife commented, "I've never seen you eat ramen without breaking a sweat before." Maybe they served it in cold dishes? From a fan of Hien, I would suggest the owner and staff try the dishes from a customer's perspective. The tantanmen was 840 yen, and the mixed vegetable yakisoba was 900 yen. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was Chinese cuisine, and after much deliberation, I decided to go to "飛燕" for the first time in a while. It's located in a residential area, so there is usually a wait during lunchtime, but I was lucky today. When I arrived at 12:45, there were only three cars in the parking lot. Upon entering, there were two groups at the counter and two groups in the tatami room. I was guided to a seat at the back of the tatami room, and I quickly ordered the "青椒肉絲" from the lunch menu. The dish arrived promptly, consisting of crispy bamboo shoots, vibrant green bell peppers, perfectly cooked meat, and a beautifully presented bowl of rice. It was like a work of art. I enjoyed my meal and left satisfied. "Thank you for the meal."

I looked at the reviews before visiting for the first time in about 4 years on August 8, 2021 (Sunday). I arrived a little after 1 pm, so it was a bit past the peak time and had calmed down. There were 2 groups of customers before me and 1 group after me. I had shrimp chili rice, which wasn't too spicy and had a mellow flavor. It wasn't really spicy, more on the sweet side. The portion size was decent. I heard that their specialty is fried chicken, but I ended up ordering something different. I'll try the award-winning fried chicken next time. Thank you for the shrimp chili rice. (^_^)

Rakushoku Chinese restaurant "Hien" again. I came back again! This time, I tried the "Hoisin Pork Set" for ¥1,020 (tax included) and the "Premium Noodles & Rice Set" with "Dan Dan Noodles & Bang Bang Chicken Rice" for ¥1,000 (tax included). ・There was chicken (fried?) included (> <) ・I missed the chicken (^◇^;) ・I couldn't eat the chicken (TT) ・The Dan Dan noodles weren't too spicy and easy to eat! There was a menu available for the premium voucher without additional charge! It's convenient because you only need to show the voucher (^^)

Rakushoku Chuka "Hien" is a place I often visit because the food is quite good. I hadn't been there in a while, but this time I ordered the "Ebi Ankake Yaki Soba" for ¥1,020 (tax included) and my wife got the "Gomoku Ankake Gohan" for ¥900 (tax included). Here's my review: - I prefer ankake yaki soba over shio yaki soba. - I really like shrimp. - The noodles were quite oily. - Overall, it was delicious. I will definitely come back again!

This is a reassuring casual Chinese restaurant. [Lunch] Set menu of scallion oil noodles and egg fried rice for 920 yen. The hot soup with scallion oil and chicken char siu in the ramen has a solid richness and lingering taste, without any sharp edges. The egg fried rice has a simple flavor with a nice balance of saltiness, cooked at high temperature for a crispy texture. The generous portion size is satisfying.

My wife and I decided to visit this restaurant for the first time in a while. There was one parking spot available. I ordered the oil-drizzled chicken lunch with less rice, and my wife ordered the Tomakomai yakisoba. The portion was too much for us... I gave my wife 2 pieces of fried chicken. In return, we received 10 pieces of yakisoba! Then more customers started coming in. This place is popular in the west area! Oil-drizzled chicken: 818 yen, Tomakomai yakisoba: 940 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

One day, it was a perfect day for fried rice... There are times when I suddenly crave fried rice. When I'm in that mood, I like to have three options for my "fried rice shelter" in my hometown of Tomakomai, which is long from west to east. One of the options in the west is a Chinese restaurant known for its reliable dishes, with their ankake yakisoba being quite to my liking. Now, what about their fried rice...? - Gomoku Fried Rice 760 yen (excluding tax) Moist and tender... The balance between the oiliness and ingredients creates a simple and easy-to-eat flavor, with a good amount of volume. However, the saltiness and soy sauce flavor are slightly strong. Even as someone who is okay with a strong salty taste, I felt some sharpness, so it might be considered "quite salty" in general. Maybe it was just me?... I'll try the shrimp fried rice and reassess.

Tomakomai has many popular restaurants serving ankake yakisoba, which has become a hidden soul food in the area. In recent years, efforts have been made to promote "Tomakomai yakisoba" by adding certain conditions. The ankake yakisoba here costs 900 yen (including tax) and is sprinkled with powdered surf clam flakes. The flavor of the surf clam is not as prominent as the savory aroma and taste derived from the shaved bonito flakes, which adds a nice accent. The dish is known for its gentle flavor, but it would have been nice to see more creativity, such as using surf clam as an ingredient in addition to just sprinkling it on top.

When I felt like eating fried chicken today, I chose this place nearby. [Lunch Menu] Oil Dripping Chicken Chunks with Salad, Soup, and Coffee for 880 yen (tax included). The appearance is hearty. The sauce of the oil dripping chicken is simple and mild. The dashi-based vinegar flavor is gentle. The fried chicken has a thin coating and the chicken meat is tender and juicy. Personally, I wish there were more onions to make the flavor more vibrant. I added vinegar halfway through to change the taste. The salad feels a bit lackluster and the soup surprisingly has a Japanese style. The portion size and cost performance are decent, but as a Chinese specialty restaurant's oil dripping chicken, I felt somewhat unsatisfied with the flavor. However, the service was very good.

As I'm writing this report, the third day of my consecutive holidays is coming to an end haha. It always happens like this, not knowing what I did and suddenly realizing, "Oh! Tomorrow is back to work?" So, I decided to go out. I went to the home center, which I like, and then headed towards Shiraoi. On my way back, I thought of grabbing something to eat, and finally visited "Hien," a place I've been curious about but never had the chance to visit before. When I arrived, it was already past 6 pm, and the parking lot was quite full. The entrance was a bit crowded, making it difficult to park, but I managed to find a spot. The seating area had only counter seats and raised platforms, which I'm not a fan of, but we had no choice. We ordered stir-fried noodles with green peppers and shredded pork for me and mixed fried rice for my wife. The food took a while to arrive, and I noticed that my phone had no internet connection. The dishes finally arrived, and we started eating. The stir-fried noodles were similar to what I had at another restaurant, but I found the flavor at Hien to be better. The mixed fried rice had a generous portion, but my wife couldn't finish it. It was tasty, although it was hard to identify all the ingredients. Overall, the food was good, but the prices were a bit high.

My daughter wanted to eat fried chicken, so my wife and I visited the restaurant as a family of three. I ordered shrimp fried rice, my wife ordered mixed vegetable yakisoba, and my daughter ordered a small portion of sweet and sour pork with rice. The fried rice was too much for me to finish, but my wife and daughter enjoyed their dishes and finished them all. The shrimp fried rice, mixed vegetable yakisoba, and sweet and sour pork were delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Today's location was Tokiwa-cho, and it quickly turned completely white with snow. My partner KT and I visited a nearby place for the 10th time in 10 months. I ordered yakisoba and KT ordered ramen. The yakisoba from Hien was delicious, but I didn't remember it being this oily. We'll definitely be back! The yakisoba with five toppings in thick sauce was 880 yen, and the ramen with five toppings in thick sauce was also 880 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v
