I didn't have much connection to this area, but I came here for work and I really wanted to visit "Sekai Pan" that I've heard about. It's a bit of a walk from Mikuni-ga-Oka Station, but it's already popular as I saw several shoppers in front of the station. When I visited in the afternoon, the store was bustling with people. The variety of bread was still abundant and it was fun to look at. From classic menu items to the crust of the bread, there is a wide range of options. They even sell sugar and karinto (Japanese fried dough snack) here.
- Tartine 324 yen: A light French bread with a thin crust (similar to a baguette) topped with broccoli, tomato, zucchini, bacon, sausages, and plenty of cheese. The colors are vibrant, the texture is great, and the combination with the bread is excellent. The sauce and cheese were delicious. It's understandable why this is a popular item.
- Apple Danish 241 yen: It's like a bread shop's version of an apple pie. It says "Apple Pie Style" on it, so the filling is quite chunky with apples, giving it a satisfying texture. The price is great for this quality.
- Raisin Campagne Half 227 yen: The Campagne bread looked delicious, so I bought it. They even cut it in half for me. After reheating and spreading butter on it, the bread had a perfect balance of a thick crust, fluffy crumb, and delicious dough. I love the Campagne bread here.
- Unubore Danish 130 yen: A popular item that was featured on TV, so I wanted to try it. It has a fluffy texture with a gentle buttery aroma, and the simplicity of the bread is packed with deliciousness. It was tasty, but is it okay to be conceited about it? (laughs) They use natural yeast, so all the bread has a deep flavor. The variety is extensive, making it fun to choose, and you might end up buying a lot. I only tried four types this time, but I would like to try other bread as well.
