There was a shop in Nakazaki-cho that I had been curious about for a while. When I tried to enter it before, I was told that reservations were required. This time, I made a reservation and visited "La Lanterna Di Genova." The exterior has a shabby cabin-like atmosphere with an Italian flag, so it's easy to tell that it's an Italian restaurant. Currently, lunch is only available in course menu format, priced at around 4500 yen. The lunch course includes 3 appetizers, 2 pasta dishes, a choice of fish or meat dish, dessert, coffee, and tea, which seems like a good deal. Now, onto the crucial part - the taste. The pasta options include a fixed Genovese dish and a choice of 6 other options. All of them sounded delicious, but this time I chose beef and plenty of onion in white wine stew sauce with Pappardelle. Pappardelle is a type of pasta similar to thick udon noodles. Starting with the appetizers, the first dish was a creamy fava bean puree with boiled crab on top, which was truly delicious. The next dish was Eggplant Parmigiana served cold, which had a unique texture and a lovely combination of eggplant, tomato sauce, and mozzarella. The third appetizer was a salad with steamed Ise Akadori chicken, which was a bit hazy in my memory, but overall satisfying. The pasta dishes, especially the Genovese, were top-notch, with the oil and basil blending perfectly. The second pasta dish with beef and plenty of onion in white wine sauce with Pappardelle was also delightful. For the main course, I had Kagoshima white pork shoulder loin, which had a balanced and mild flavor. The dessert consisted of pistachio ice cream and a chocolate cake-like Gâteau Chocolat, which was a perfect finish. The total bill was around 13200 yen, and only cash payment was accepted during lunchtime. With a total of 5 drinks included in the course, the cost performance was good, and most importantly, the food was delicious, especially the appetizers and pasta dishes. I would like to visit again for dinner sometime.
