I visited the restaurant called "Souryu" for the first time after a little trip. My friend highly recommended this place, so I had high expectations! I heard it was a local Chinese restaurant, so I was expecting a certain atmosphere, but the interior was extremely clean! The high ceiling and modern mortar finish gave a stylish look to the place. You can see a glimpse of the kitchen from the seats (it's raised one step with a glass partition) and it was a very clean kitchen! I thought it might have a more greasy and atmospheric feel, but the restaurant was really clean and this cleanliness actually added a touch of luxury to the Chinese cuisine. Despite having only about 20 seats, there were four staff members working! I hope you understand how amazing this is. If it were me, I would have managed with just two staff members. I don't need to go into detail about the food this time because it was all delicious. If I had to pick one, the Sichuan-style mapo tofu was really tasty. This time at "Souryu," the taste was undoubtedly great as seen in other reviews, but what impressed me the most were other aspects of the restaurant. I highly recommend it! Just by looking at the photos, you can see that each dish is served on a different plate, which is really difficult to do and not necessary, but changing the plates adds to the visual appeal. The staff's consistent and excellent service was another highlight. Other restaurants should take this as a model for customer service. Their communication was clear, you could see their smiles even through the masks, and they paid attention to small details like table checks. It may sound simple in writing, but it's actually quite difficult for humans to do, yet all the staff members here managed to do it, which is amazing. This time, my review focused more on aspects other than the taste, as the taste has already been praised in other reviews. But if you visit, you will understand. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is one of the restaurants I don't want to share. When I visited after a long time, I found that the restaurant had been halved. However, the number of seats remained the same. Anyway, my usual order is the Sichuan mapo tofu with fried eggplant topping (limited to summer) and crab fried rice set. The Sichuan mapo tofu is spicy and very delicious. Eating it alternately with salad helps to reduce the spiciness. It may be unconventional, but pouring the Sichuan mapo tofu over the crab fried rice also helps to reduce the spiciness, and the combination of crab fried rice and Sichuan mapo tofu is excellent and very tasty. The only downside is that the restaurant only operates for 2 hours during lunchtime, from 11:45 to 13:45.

This is a Chinese restaurant in Abiko. They use locally sourced spices and seasonings, as well as vegetables from their own farm. The location is a bit tricky to find, but it's near Abiko Station. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovation and operates in half of its original space. I tried the crab and shrimp fried rice set, which was delicious. The spring rolls were also tasty, with a generous amount of vegetables. The service was friendly and attentive. I recommend visiting with a group to try a variety of dishes.

In the midst of hot days, I decided to boost my spirits by eating something spicy, so I visited the famous restaurant Senryu known for its mapo tofu. I arrived around 1 PM and ordered the mapo tofu set for 1200 yen. There is an option for a spicier version called Sichuan mapo tofu, but as a beginner, I opted for the regular one. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. The set included mapo tofu, salad, eggplant with vinegar, and egg soup. I started with the salad, made with vegetables from their own garden. The carrots and pumpkin were sweet and delicious. The dressing had a Chinese-style flavor with sesame oil. When I tried the mapo tofu, it was spicy. The fragrance and numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns came later. I could also taste the flavor of doubanjiang, showing the authenticity of the dish. The vinegar in the eggplant dish helped balance out the spiciness of the mapo tofu. I'm glad I didn't go for the even spicier Sichuan mapo tofu. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the rich white broth ramen with lots of vegetables. The soup has just the right amount of saltiness and is incredibly delicious. The soup alone is tasty, but when you slurp the curly noodles, the richness and saltiness increase making it even more delicious! In addition to this, I also ordered a salad with dried tofu which was full of vegetables, enough for two people. I also tried one of the pan-fried dumplings my partner ordered, and it was chewy and incredibly delicious!

I searched a little east of Abiko in Sumiyoshi Ward and found a delicious Sichuan cuisine restaurant, so today I am going to aim for this place and go to the restaurant. There is no parking lot, but there was a coin parking nearby, so I parked there and walked to the restaurant. The restaurant opens at 11:45, so I arrived about 10 minutes early and waited as the shutter made a rattling sound and went up. Although there were only two of us, we were seated at a 4-person table. I ordered the classic mapo tofu set meal. There are very spicy options available, but I don't have the courage to try them, so I'll start with the regular one. In one corner of the restaurant, there is a self-service area for rice and water, so you can have as much rice as you want. My companion ordered salt yakisoba. The side dishes that come with the set meal are the same for everyone. I tried a bite of the yakisoba, and it was quite delicious. When I tried a bite of the mapo tofu, it was quite spicy with a slight numbing sensation. It was a very well-made mapo tofu. I am confident that all the menu items are delicious. Thank you for the meal.

He patrols Chinese restaurants so much that he researches and goes to eat at well-known places. He loves mapo tofu so much that he even plans to study how to make it during this year's Obon holiday. On this day, he ordered the regular mapo tofu set, while I, who is not a big fan of mapo tofu, wanted to have Chinese porridge but found out it's only available in winter. So, I decided to try the spicy version since he highly recommends it. It turns out the spicy version here is called "mala tofu." As a novice, I couldn't tell the difference between mapo and mala. But despite not being a fan of mapo tofu, I found the mala tofu here to be delicious. At first bite, I thought it might be too spicy to finish without rice. But as I continued eating, I started to taste more umami than spiciness, and ended up eating it without much rice. By the way, you serve yourself rice here. I consider myself to have a high tolerance for spiciness. The salad, soup, and side dishes all showed attention to detail. The cucumber in the salad was not the usual thinly sliced, but cut in a way that allowed you to feel the texture and sweetness of the cucumber. The overall flavor balance was excellent. It was very delicious, and I finished every last bite. Thank you for the meal.

During a break in training, I revisited the restaurant! I enjoyed the punchy mapo tofu while breaking a sweat! It's spicy but delicious! The salad and eggplant ohitashi served with the mapo tofu were also delicious! Next time, I want to try something other than mapo tofu!

For lunch on this day, we went to Abiko "Souryu" to support a restaurant that is still operating despite the pandemic. We visited a Chinese restaurant called "Souryu" in the Abeno shopping district in Sumiyoshi-ku with my family. It was our first time visiting since the store had been beautifully renovated. I had the "Rich White Broth Soup Soba Set", my child had the "Salted Mixed Vegetable Udon Set", and my wife had the "Thick Pork Belly Oyster Sauce Yakisoba Set". We also ordered some "boiled dumplings" to share. The set meals came with a side dish, salad, soup, and rice, which you could refill yourself. The "Rich White Broth Soup Soba" that I had was a five-flavored soup with thick curly noodles in a chicken-based white broth soup. It was topped with pork belly, Chinese cabbage, greens, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, white leeks, and shredded red chili peppers. Unlike many ramen in Japan that are often salty, this soup soba had a mild saltiness, allowing the rich flavor of the soup to shine through. It was really delicious with plenty of vegetables. And the boiled dumplings were also amazing!! The Rich White Broth Soup Soba Set was so delicious~~~

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, and it did not disappoint. The interior has recently been renovated and looks very beautiful! If you want to eat Mapo Tofu in Osaka, you should definitely come here. I ordered the Mapo Tofu, which was quite thick and had just the right amount of spiciness, making it addictive and perfect with beer! The fried chicken was also delicious. I'm interested in trying other items on the menu as well, as they are sure to be tasty.

Spice activity today - Chinese spice activity! Visiting a popular restaurant known for its spicy tofu dish around 1:00 PM on Saturday. The restaurant was almost full, but we were seated promptly at a table for two. We quickly ordered the extremely spicy tofu dish. The server explained that tea and rice were self-service, so I went to get some tea while waiting, and I noticed that they had a limited-time topping option of Quanzhou-style fried eggplant - I should have looked at the menu before ordering. Next time, I'll look forward to trying it. The meal started with a glass noodle salad as a side dish. The salad was colorful with home-grown vegetables. The soup was a gentle egg drop soup. I went to get some rice and was served a warm pot of the spicy tofu dish. The numbing sensation of the Sichuan peppercorns hits you right away. It's spicy and delicious, especially when eaten with white rice. I took breaks with the soup and salad in between bites and finished the meal. I really enjoyed experiencing the intense spice flavors. Next time, I want to try it with the fried eggplant topping. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant around 12:30 on a regular day. I have used their takeout service a few times before, but this was my first time dining in. I ordered the Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork set for 1,100 yen (tax included), which came with a side dish, salad, soup, and rice. The egg drop soup had a rich flavor and was just the right thickness, very delicious. The salad was fresh and crunchy, with a light dressing that allowed the vegetables' natural flavors to shine. There were some unusual vegetables (probably ice plant) in the salad that were very fresh. It seems like they use vegetables grown in the restaurant owner's parents' own farm. The pork in the sweet and sour dish was tender, and the black vinegar sauce was flavorful, making it enjoyable until the last bite. The glass noodles in the side dish were a bit too strongly seasoned for my taste, I prefer a lighter flavor. My husband ordered the Oil-Blanched Chicken set for 1,000 yen (tax included), which also came with a side dish, salad, soup, and rice. I tried a piece of the oil-blanch chicken, and it had a well-seasoned yet refreshing taste, very delicious. Both the sweet and sour pork and the oil-blanch chicken had a high-quality, authentic taste like something you would find in a hotel, yet the price was very reasonable. The restaurant owner was polite and kind, and the other staff members were also very friendly.

I heard that there is delicious mapo tofu in Abiko, so I visited right away. It's about a 5-minute walk from Abiko Station. I ordered the "Souryu Mapo Tofu Set" for 1200 yen. The rice is all-you-can-eat, and it comes with delicious salad, vermicelli salad, and egg soup. The mapo tofu I was looking forward to was quite thick and had just the right amount of spiciness. It goes really well with rice. I'm also interested in other menu items, which I'm sure are delicious too. I definitely need to come back again.

When walking the streets of Taiwan, the air is filled with the scent of star anise. In a Chinese restaurant in Osaka, the aroma of star anise drifts from the fried rice ordered. The roast pork in the dish carries a spicy and appetizing flavor of Sichuan peppercorns. Sweet and sour pork is served with lotus root, eryngii mushrooms, and bell peppers, topped with a black vinegar sauce for a refreshing finish. While pan-fried dumplings are popular in Japan, boiled dumplings are more commonly eaten in China, so I tried the boiled dumplings here. The chewy dumpling skin was coated in vinegar, enhancing the flavor of the filling. It's a very delicious restaurant.

This is a really great restaurant! The food is delicious, the space is clean, and all the staff are friendly. And the prices are cheap too. I would even take multiple trains just to come here. It's worth turning down an invitation from your boss to come here. They have a variety of dishes like cashew nuts stir-fry, spring rolls, and great dishes to pair with alcohol. The classic mapo tofu is amazing! You must try it. Dishes like crab fried rice will get you really excited. It's a hidden gem in a residential area. Thank you for the meal!

Lunch today was at Abiko's "Souryu." It was a support lunch for a restaurant that is still in business despite the pandemic. My family went to "Souryu," a Chinese restaurant in Abiko, Abinko Shotengai. It was our second time at "Souryu" since June last year. I had the "Souryu Mapo Tofu Set," my child had the "Souryu-style Chinese Porridge Set," and my wife had the "Youlin Chicken Set." The lunch sets came with salad, soup, pickles, and rice. The Chinese porridge came with steamed chicken with green onion sauce and two types of fried dim sum. I had a hard time deciding between the spicy "Sichuan Mapo Tofu" and the regular "Souryu Mapo Tofu," but in the end, I chose the same one as last time, the "Souryu Mapo Tofu." The "Souryu Mapo Tofu" is described as "A harmonious balance of two types of bean paste and smooth tofu, with a delightful hint of Sichuan pepper fragrance, loved for over ten years." It's a Mapo Tofu with just the right amount of spiciness and numbing sensation. The Souryu Mapo Tofu was so delicious!

I am at a Chinese bar in Myosho. First of all, the cost performance is good (400 yen for a pot of Oolong tea! And there are 4 types including Jasmine). The customer service is decently good, almost to the point of tears (maybe just the personality of the owner). The dishes come out lightning fast (probably anticipated upon entering). Everything is voluminous! There are various patterns of Mapo Tofu, so you don't have to cry from it being too spicy or numbing. The comparison set of Shaoxing wine was very cost-effective and all of them were delicious.

I went to a restaurant with my partner, thinking it was Korean cuisine, but it turned out to be Chinese! I was a bit surprised, but it was a misunderstanding on my part. So, I changed my mindset and ordered. When I asked for recommendations, they suggested mapo tofu, yurin chicken, jellyfish and zha cai salad, and spicy ramen. It was quite delicious. I had a few beers and ended up with a full stomach after three cups. Looking at the photos later, I noticed that the mapo tofu and zha cai were a bit blurry. Overall, it was a slightly better and tasty Chinese restaurant than the usual ones in town. They also offer set courses, which I might consider trying next time. Thank you for the meal.

The staff guided me politely. The mapo tofu is spicy but delicious! The extra noodles have a slight eggy taste, making it mild and also delicious! The side of sweet potatoes is tasty, and I am very satisfied. I love almond jelly, and this almond jelly helped soothe my mouth after the spiciness of the mapo tofu. It was a great lunch. I will definitely come back!

This is a Chinese restaurant in Abiko. It is located on the left side just after passing through the Abiko shopping street, walking from Abiko Station on the Osaka Metro. The exterior of the restaurant is covered with vinyl sheet curtains, giving it a strong street food vibe. I visited for lunch on a weekday after 1:00 PM, so it was not too crowded. However, there were still regular customers coming in. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but they serve authentic Chinese cuisine using seasonings imported from China and homegrown vegetables. The lunch menu is all priced over 1000 yen, but it is clearly displayed with tax included. Their specialty is the mapo tofu. They also offer sets like yakisoba, all of which look delicious. The crab fried rice (1200 yen) I ordered was served with egg soup, salad with fried wonton, miso-glazed fried eggplant, and pickled vegetables. The fried rice was amazing, with a luxurious taste that you wouldn't expect from the appearance. The grains of rice were not mushy and had a nice moisture level. I couldn't stop eating it. It was a delightful experience, and I look forward to trying the seasonal seafood and Sichuan pepper fried rice next time.
