When you pass through the shopping street from Okamachi Station, you will find a charming ohagi shop. In the showcase, there are small and unique ohagi lined up. They all look delicious, but this time I chose daizu, kinako, mitarashi, and kabocha. I enjoyed them slowly at home with Japanese tea. With cakes becoming more expensive these days, low-calorie and affordable Japanese sweets are also good. There are many rare ohagi that you don't see elsewhere, so they would be appreciated as souvenirs. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I was all excited to go on a tour of 100 famous shops, but suddenly the train was delayed and there was a customer incident (later found out it was like a jump-in... too many negative stories, so let's be a little more carefree and enjoy it!). Managed to get to Okamachi Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line... Tried to use a shared rental bike there, but ran into trouble... I mainly use bike shares like Bike Share and Hello Cycling, but Hello Cycling is in a remote location, so maintenance is poor. Tried to rent again... Arrived around 12:50 with only one customer... Some items were sold out... I chose Ohagi, Kinako, Houjicha, Mitarashi, Kurumi, Naruko Kintoki, Yaki Kuri with Kinako Warabi Mochi, and Ochanomizu Youkan, paid 1680 yen in cash... Going for lunch now. Had them chilled in the evening... Mitarashi is sweet and savory, delicious... Naruko Kintoki is delicious... Yaki Kuri is okay... Kurumi is average... Houjicha is tasty... Ohagi is sweet and delicious... Kinako is delicious... Warabi Mochi has a smooth texture and good elasticity, delicious... Ochanomizu Youkan is refreshing and delicious... I want some hot Japanese tea.

When it comes to Ohagi in Toyonaka, Mori no Ohagi is the place to go. Located in the Sakurazuka shopping street near Hankyu Okamachi Station. You can get a 100 yen discount at any nearby coin parking when you buy 1000 yen worth of Ohagi at Mori no Ohagi. Don't forget to bring your parking proof or ticket. I never thought a shop that just sells Ohagi could have such a cute storefront! I went on a weekday afternoon and there was only one other customer. The Karinto and Mizuyokan also looked delicious, but I was there to buy Ohagi as requested. I got "Dainagon" for ¥130, "Deep Roasted Kinako" for ¥130, "Mitara" for ¥160, "Yolk Kabocha" for ¥180, "Naruto Kintoki" for ¥180, and "Roasted Chestnut" for ¥180. The sweetness here is just right, I like it. They are cute bite-sized pieces with a chewy texture that gives a satisfying bite. All three seasonal flavors were delicious - well, the classic one was the best. Dainagon is a bit softer and you can eat as many as you want. I look forward to the changing seasons here. Thank you for the meal!

I visited "Mori no Ohagi," located in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The shop is a 6-minute walk from Okamachi Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line, situated in the Sakurazuka Arkas shopping street. They offer a variety of ohagi, which are small and cute rice cakes, available for takeout only. Here are the ohagi I purchased with some brief thoughts: - Peanut and mixed grain ohagi: The chewy texture of the mixed grains is enjoyable, with a generous amount of peanuts giving a fragrant taste. - Uji matcha black rice ohagi: The appearance clearly shows the matcha and black rice. When you bite into it, you'll feel the chewy texture and taste the flavor of black rice, along with a surprisingly rich matcha flavor. - Sesame miso fig black rice ohagi: This dish has a sesame miso flavor with the fig's texture and sweetness as accents. - Adzuki bean and mixed grain ohagi: This ohagi may seem conventional after the unique flavors, but it offers a classic taste. Each ohagi was delicious in its own way. Thank you for the meal.

A small ohagi shop in Okayama-cho. I first received it as a gift from a friend, and since then I have visited the shop several times to buy it. It's always delicious, and I even bought the "recipe book." I especially recommend the "roasted green tea" flavor. The tea aroma is outstanding and goes well with the sweet bean paste. It's a small shop, so be sure not to overlook it... haha!

【Visit in May 2023】I visited Mori no Ohagiko after a long time. Their ohagi is so delicious that I feel like eating it regularly. It's a shop that specializes in creative ohagi. They have a few basic flavors and several seasonal ohagi varieties. The ohagi looks cute and has a seasonal touch, making it perfect for gifts as well. It's a popular shop, and they often sell out and close late. There is also a shop in Kitashinchi, but I prefer the one in Okamachi as it is closer. On this day, I bought six varieties: mitarashi, matcha, walnut, fig, hojicha, and peanut. I tried the fig and walnut ones. They were cut elegantly, and even though they can be eaten in one bite, they are of high quality. I will definitely go back to buy more.

Visited the popular Japanese confectionery shop "Mori no Ohagi" in Toyonaka City. I had previously visited their sister shop "Morino Okashi" in Kitashinchi and bought some warabi mochi, which was quite delicious. This time, I am aiming for ohagi. - Deep roasted kinako mixed grain mochi (¥130) - Hojicha black rice mochi (¥140) Although they are small in size, they are reasonably priced. The packaging is also well done. I was sure that the kinako would be good, and it was indeed wonderfully fragrant. The slight saltiness and the texture of the rice were nice touches. The hojicha was also delicious, but the hojicha aroma may be a bit subtle.

As I was walking down the shopping street, I came across a shop selling ohagi. They had a soft and sticky bracken rice cake with deeply roasted kinako for 210 yen, and a apricot and walnut filled rice cake for 190 yen. The bracken rice cake was smooth and sweet, with a delightful roasted kinako flavor. The filled rice cake was easy to eat and had an interesting combination of flavors with the apricot. The ohagi were all in small sizes and I regret not buying more varieties.

On the way from the city hall to the station, I found the "Mori no Ohagi" that had left an impression on me from a TV show and decided to line up to try it. There were only about two people ahead of me, so it didn't take long. The elderly lady in front of me seemed to have trouble deciding, but I understood her. I also took my time to choose. They all looked delicious, but since they don't last long, I had to make a quick decision. I like the classic Daizu and Kinako flavors, as well as the seasonal limited edition flavors like black beans and cherry blossom. I usually enjoy Ohagi with plenty of sweet bean paste, but the ones here have a special charm, like choosing a nerikiri at a traditional Japanese sweets shop. When I got home, I had them with tea and enjoyed the rich flavors of the ingredients and the subtle sweetness. The variety of mochi rice used as the base was also interesting. I heard they occasionally sell them at department stores, so I look forward to finding them again and buying more.

【Mori no Ohagi】Okamachi/Takeout bite-sized and easy to eat, with a variety of unique variations not found in other specialty stores. Perfect for souvenirs♡ I purchased Memo Daizu Natto Mochi, Deep Roasted Kinako Mixed Grain Mochi, Hojicha Black Rice Mochi, Honjozo Mitarashi Mixed Grain Mochi, Walnut Black Rice Mochi, Matcha Butter Mixed Grain Mochi, and Roasted Chestnut (Matcha and Roasted Chestnut are seasonal). The ones I bought this time were priced at 130-230 yen each, which is quite reasonable. Personally, I especially like the hojicha flavor! The gentle sweetness of the anko, combined with the subtle saltiness of the black rice mochi, is amazing. Perfect for those who want to try a little bit of everything! Highly recommended for those who love to snack! Located a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Okamachi Station in Toyonaka, Osaka Prefecture. Open from 10:00 to 13:00/14:00 to 19:30 (until sold out). Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and irregular days. This is a shop in Toyonaka that sells ohagi (rice cakes). I have been here about two times, and I have also visited their store in Tani 6 once. They offer houjicha black rice cake for ¥140, matcha butter mixed grain cake for ¥180, and roasted chestnut black rice cake for ¥230. The houjicha and chestnut ones have sweet red bean paste on top with black rice cake at the bottom, while the matcha butter one is wrapped in mixed grain rice with smooth red bean paste inside. Personally, I like the black rice cake the most! It has a chewy texture, and especially the houjicha flavor was very strong and delicious. The chestnut and matcha flavors were more subtle. The matcha one, in particular, only had matcha powder sprinkled on top, so the matcha flavor was not very strong. They are bite-sized and easy to eat in one go. I heard they offer various flavors depending on the season, so I would like to try other flavors as well!

When I pass by the area, I sometimes buy ohagi from the forest. I choose from about 10 different kinds. The classic o-nanko is a must-eat, along with mitarashi, chestnut, sweet potato, and abekawa. We all eat them together after dinner and they disappear in no time haha. The abekawa is so soft, it's like it couldn't get any softer!! Every ohagi is delicious, there's no comparison with other stores. It seems like they sell out by the evening.

I received some delicious ohagi that I used to enjoy in the past. The paper bag is modern and cute as well. There are 6 types of ohagi: kinako, azuki bean, chestnut, roasted green tea, sweet potato, and pumpkin. The rice used in each ohagi is either mixed grains or black rice, all of them are cute and the balance between the mochi rice and the filling is good. Ohagi is said to be healthy and guilt-free as it doesn't have the fat content like Western sweets. It seems to be a trend. However, be careful because they use a lot of sugar in the soft mochi, so don't overeat.

I purchased all 8 types of ohagi for takeout at home. They were all small and cute, with flavors like adzuki bean paste, soybean flour, roasted green tea, sweet soy sauce, walnut, grilled corn, coconut, and sweetened edamame paste. Each one was bite-sized and incredibly chewy and sticky, which I really liked. The rice itself was delicious, and all of them were tasty. With a variety of flavors and a nice appearance, they would make a great gift, so I plan to use this shop again in the future. Thank you for the meal.

Located near Toyonaka, Okamachi Station, there is a popular shop called "Mori no Ohagi" that sells ohagi. I bought some for takeout. The shop always has a long line. The ohagi are all mini-sized (about 3cm) which makes them easy to eat and cute to look at. I think they would be very popular with girls! They would also make a great gift. The taste is not too sweet and delicious.

Next to the delicious Peruvian restaurant Wankayo is the sister store in Kitashinchi, Morino Okashi. I have visited a few times and it is a favorite of mine, but it is difficult to go because it opens in the evening. This place is open from daytime. You can buy just one of your favorite ohagi. In the Kitashinchi store, you have to buy a set of 6 and can't choose the contents, so this is great. There were also small manju with apricot and walnut inside, which were sold individually. One for 190 yen, which was hard to get in Kitashinchi as it was only sold on certain days. I bought four and they were sold out for the day. Lucky! The ohagi I chose: walnut - 180 yen, matcha - 200 yen, houjicha - 140 yen, and oonano - 130 yen. Only the oonano had mixed grains, the rest were all black rice. They are smaller than regular eggs, so you can enjoy a variety of flavors. When I bought them, there was only one other customer, but in an instant, there was a line of 7 people behind me. I was lucky to buy them at the right time.

I visited this place in Toyonaka, Osaka while on a errand. It was featured on TV and there was a long line. The shop mainly offers takeout, and it is quite small but crowded. The variety of offerings is quite unique. At this point, it feels more like a traditional Japanese confectionery shop than just a rice cake shop (although rice cakes are the main focus). The rice cakes are cute and Instagram-worthy, which is why it's so popular. I tried them later and they were not too sweet, with the rice grains distinct and not mushy. It was an elegant and delicious rice cake. It was my first experience with this evolved version of rice cakes. There are so many creative ideas out there. I thought it was wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

I finally made it to the forest's ohagi! I came all the way to Okamachi for the mitarashi ohagi. I ended up buying a total of 15 pieces! There are many different types, which is fun. And on top of that, they are too delicious. The mitarashi ohagi has red bean paste inside. Thank you for the feast.
