Gourmet Trip Part 12 Osaka Trip 2023 Part 2 Visited at night. Located near the Tobita Shinchi area, known for its prohibition on women and photography, where famous Japanese red-light district culture still remains. I wasn't particularly interested in that aspect, but happened to be close to this restaurant, so I decided to take a look as a tourist. The scene was truly amazing... Just as rumored, there were only incredibly beautiful women there, truly amazing. The pinnacle of those working in Japan's adult industry was there. When I arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 PM, there was already a long line... mostly foreigners. In fact, I was the only Japanese person there. Seriously, the inbound traffic is amazing!!! The weakening of the Japanese yen has increased demand from foreigners for hotels, leading to higher prices and crowded restaurants... It's a good opportunity to attract foreign demand, but it also makes you realize how Japan is becoming a developing country (T ^ T). After waiting for about an hour, when I finally entered the restaurant, the sign indicating the end of business hours was already displayed outside. Sold out by 6:30 PM with only inbound customers. Seriously, Japanese people should go to this restaurant early! I ordered the Pork Mix Tamago (Okonomiyaki) for 1,300 yen. The actual appearance of the okonomiyaki was impressive with plenty of squid, shrimp, and pork toppings!! I thought the price was a bit high, but with such quality toppings, it was somewhat justified!! And when I tasted it, the batter was generously coated with mayonnaise and sauce, giving it a strong junk food flavor. At first, I thought it was a restaurant catering to inbound tourists, but it was actually delicious!! Furthermore, as I continued eating, I felt a mysterious sweetness... Could it be the pineapple written on the menu?! It does go well with it!! Haha. Adding a fruity flavor deepens the taste!! (Sorry for the simple thinking haha). Then I tried adding the recommended chili oil by the staff!! It added a bit of spiciness and made it even more delicious!! A great flavor enhancement!! Well, it was surprisingly delicious!! Not only for foreigners, but also for everyone in Japan, it's worth a try!! If you like junk food-style okonomiyaki, you'll definitely love it!!

This place is located in a back alley about a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Dobutsuen-mae Station and JR Shin-Imamiya Station in Nishinari, Osaka. The shop is located in a famous area in Kansai, so you will be overwhelmed by the atmosphere around you. I visited on a weekend around 6 pm. There were about 10 people waiting outside. It is a very popular shop even among foreign tourists, as all the people waiting in line appeared to be Asian tourists. Additionally, two groups of people who seemed to have come from the EU area arrived after me. Last order is at 7 pm, and by around 6:30 pm, they had stopped accepting new customers in line, so I recommend arriving early if you come in the 6 o'clock hour. Despite being a very popular shop, there are only 12 seats including counter and tables, but the turnover seems to be good as I was able to enter in about 30 minutes. By the way, the staff at the shop are trying to turn the tables quickly, so they even asked for drink orders while waiting in line. After entering, I immediately ordered a drink, and then the popular "Pork Mix Tamago" for 1,300 yen that I had ordered in advance. I was a little surprised that they even took drink orders while waiting in line, but it is indeed very efficient. And the Pork Mix Tamago. Priced at 1,300 yen, it seems slightly higher than the average okonomiyaki, but the ingredients are generous and satisfying in volume. The taste is undeniably delicious, and the pineapple inside, which is one of the characteristics of this shop, has a good texture and a hint of acidity. When you enter the shop, you can see that customers are coming from all over the world, and the Japanese staff are accustomed to speaking English, so I think foreign tourists can enjoy the shop without any stress. Since it is an area in Nishinari that I rarely visit, I planned to visit other famous shops as well, so this time I left the shop early after enjoying okonomiyaki and a glass of draft beer, but I was satisfied with both the atmosphere and the deliciousness. Thank you for the meal!

On Monday, we arrived at 16:20 and there were 5 groups of 2 people waiting ahead of us. By 16:30, there were 5 groups of 11 people waiting behind us, which was lucky. The staff were foreigners, and we Japanese customers were a bit confused when placing our orders. The shrimp and squid were large and delicious. The pork was also delicious. The toppings were all tasty. The default mayonnaise sauce was already spread on, and additional sauce couldn't be added, but the flavor was just right and delicious! For the second round starting at 17:05 and leaving at 17:15, there were 6 groups of 3 people waiting. About 85% of the customers were foreigners, but I think it's probably because the okonomiyaki restaurant is able to accommodate English speakers. [About the review] This is just my personal subjective impression. I note the waiting time, entry time, and serving time in order to plan my schedule. Everyone has different tastes, so I rate based on the quality of service provided.

The place is cramped and smells, but the okonomiyaki is really delicious! I was dining alone so I only had the okonomiyaki, but the yakisoba looked really delicious too. It's located in a pretty deep area in Osaka, so it's a good spot for lunch!

When I go to the okonomiyaki restaurant, I always order the tonpei, something else, and okonomiyaki. This might be my routine. That's why it's easy to notice the differences in taste. This shop opens at 11:30 am, and when I went after 12 pm, there were already about 8 people lined up in front of the shop. It's hot outside, but there's no helping it. While waiting in line, the staff came to take orders. Be careful because you can't place additional orders inside when it's busy. After waiting for 40 minutes, I was seated at the counter inside the shop. It's hot in front of the teppan, but there's no helping it. The usual tonpei, with thick slices of meat. Yeah, beer goes well with it. Today, I also ordered oyster butter yaki and enjoyed the plumply cooked oysters. My favorites are shrimp, squid, and egg. The ingredients are fresh and generous in size overall. That seems to be the selling point of this shop. Yeah, highball goes well with it. Since the ingredients are good, a little less sauce would be fine. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a long-established okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinari-ku. It is a small shop located a little off the main street from the zoo. The most popular dish is the pork mix okonomiyaki. They cook it right in front of you at the counter, so I waited eagerly for it to be ready. The batter was fluffy and delicious. I will definitely visit again when I come back on a business trip.

A popular okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinari Ward, Osaka. Despite its stylish atmosphere, this small restaurant is located in a difficult-to-find alley, making it hard to enter. Customers keep coming in, and you can see the okonomiyaki being cooked on the hot plate, so you know it's a reliable place. You wait until you are instructed to eat the okonomiyaki right in front of you. It's customary to eat with a spatula, not chopsticks, in the local Osaka style. The texture and flavor of the cabbage and pork are solid, and they mix well with the sauce and batter, resulting in high-quality okonomiyaki. There are no distinctive features, but the surprising deliciousness made me finish it all in one go. Thank you for the meal.

On Saturday evening, I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes after opening and it was almost full. I was able to sit at the counter alone, but for groups of 3 or more, it's better to come early. The okonomiyaki goes really well with the chili oil! It was a revolution. I ordered the squid and shrimp okonomiyaki, and it was the most delicious seafood I've ever had in an okonomiyaki. Nishinari may be scary, but I want to go back again!

The pork mix okonomiyaki at this place must be a popular dish among tourists, as all the customers around me were foreigners. The okonomiyaki was impressive and satisfying, with generous portions and large ingredients. The shrimp was plump and quite big. Surprisingly, there was pineapple in it, but you can ask to have it removed if you prefer. I was also surprised when they recommended adding chili oil on top, which really enhanced the flavor. I couldn't stop eating it, it was so addictive. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Okonomiyaki Chitose Nearest station: Dobutsuen-mae Station, Tsutenkaku Okonomiyaki, Yakisoba This is an absolute must-visit as the first stop! Lunch is from 11:30 to 14:00, and dinner is from 16:30 to 19:00, so be mindful of the timing!! If you go for dinner, arrive at 16:30 and get in early for the second stop at Tsutenkaku for kushiage (deep-fried skewers) hopping fun. Tsutenkaku also has surprisingly good restaurants that close early, so it's recommended to go early! I waited for 40 minutes, but the longer you wait, the more delicious it becomes, so it was incredibly tasty!! They take your order before entering the restaurant, so you can eat okonomiyaki right away once you're inside. It might be difficult to get a table with four or more people! Highly recommended menu items include the delicious okonomiyaki! I ordered the modanyaki, and it was super delicious!! Next time, I'll try the okonomiyaki and yakisoba! I will definitely go back!! The recommended okonomiyaki is the Ebi Ika Tamago (1,200 yen)! I also recommend this! Changing to modanyaki costs an additional 150 yen!! I changed mine to include egg (150 yen) and cheese (300 yen), which was amazing! The modanyaki was the best, but next time, I want to try the Pork Mix Tamago (1,300 yen)! It also has shrimp and squid in it! This was too good to eat! The shrimp and squid were huge! Pineapple was a hidden flavor, and that was also delicious! The negiyaki was also tasty, but it couldn't beat the excitement of the okonomiyaki! But the okonomiyaki was so delicious! In terms of alcohol, I had a draft beer (medium) for 550 yen! It's not a place to stay long, so just one drink! Let's drink after going to Tsutenkaku! Overall rating: - Will revisit: ★★★★★ Definitely go, and I've already decided on the menu for my next visit - Okonomiyaki Pork Mix (1,300 yen) with cheese and egg toppings! Yakisoba with seafood! - Taste: ★★★★★ The most delicious okonomiyaki I've ever had! Definitely go eat when you visit Osaka! - Service: ★★★★☆ The staff were great, and there were many foreigners, but the service was excellent! It was nice that they took our order while we were waiting, so we could eat right away! I will definitely go back! I'm happy to have found a great restaurant! Business hours: Lunch: 11:30-14:00 Dinner: 16:30-19:00 Check the regular holidays!

A few minutes' walk from the zoo, near a shopping street, is a okonomiyaki restaurant. I visited on a weekday night. Since reservations are not accepted, you have to go and wait in line at this restaurant. Currently, they are open from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, but they may run out of batter, so it's best to line up by around 6:30 pm. When I arrived in front of the restaurant around 6:00 pm, there were about 4 or 5 groups waiting in line. I ended up waiting for an hour before being seated. While waiting in line, I placed an order for the pork mix okonomiyaki, takasugayaki, and a side dish of shrimp butter. You have to order at least one dish per person. The restaurant has a small space with 4 counter seats and 2 table seats. We were seated at a table in the back. Once we were seated, our order arrived immediately. The sauce and batter were delicious, fluffy, and well-balanced in the okonomiyaki. The takasugayaki was described as wrapping sobameshi in negiyaki, but it was hard to tell if there was any sobameshi in it. However, the flavor of the negiyaki was delicious. The noodles were chewy and tasty, so I recommend getting the modern-style okonomiyaki.

I had the Buta Mix Tamago Mochi Yaki for 1450 yen. It was fun to watch them make it right in front of me. The squid and shrimp were big and had a lot of volume, very satisfying. I learned about chili oil halfway through, which made it even more delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I was nervous for my first time in Nishinari, but there were many tourists and it was different from the old image, so I had a fun time eating and walking around. My friend and I visited here and tried a few places before coming, so we were quite full. I thought we could just order okonomiyaki, but we were told we needed to order at least one dish per person, so I regret not coming earlier. It was a weekday, but the restaurant was full and there was a line outside. There were mostly foreign tourists, about 4-5 people in line, but there were also foreign staff members, so the service was smooth and the turnover was fast. The okonomiyaki at this traditional restaurant was soft and delicious. Next time, I want to come on an empty stomach and try more dishes.

The answer is: The flavor is enhanced and incredibly delicious! After walking around in the scorching sun at Tennoji Zoo for half a day, I entered the restaurant right at 4:30 pm when it opened. It was already full, with a few foreigners waiting outside. I ordered the recommended Pork Okonomiyaki Mix (1300 yen) and enjoyed a refreshing beer while waiting. It was surprisingly delicious! The okonomiyaki was thick and flavorful, with a delicious batter that seemed to be made with dashi. The squid and shrimp were also plump and delicious. It was a bit pricey, but the restaurant's recommendation was spot on. When I tried adding chili oil for flavor, it was absolutely amazing. It's addictive. While eating, I noticed that all the foreigners were skillfully using chopsticks, while I, the Japanese representative, was the only one eating with a spatula.

The nearest station is JR Shin-Imamiya and Midosuji Line's Dobutsuen-mae Station, so there are many overseas customers. I was reading a blog and really wanted to eat yakisoba, so I ordered the "Buta Mix Soba." It was a delight to see the large shrimp and squid, cooked on a hot iron plate with medium-thick noodles. Just like other reviews, it was really delicious. I was able to eat a whole okonomiyaki and yakisoba by myself, surprisingly easily. Of course, the okonomiyaki was also good.

Okonomiyaki Chitose @ Dobutsuen-mae (Nishinari-ku, Osaka City) Pork mix ball Okonomiyaki ¥1,300 + Large portion ¥300 + Cheese ¥300 Yakisoba ¥850 + Large portion ¥300 (shared by 3 people) Rating: 3.8/5 The ingredients were packed generously! Especially the seafood like squid and shrimp had a strong presence, with the shrimp being very thick. The firmness of the batter was normal, not too mushy or too hard. The highlight was the amount of cheese! Unlike other okonomiyaki places that usually just put a slice of cheese on top, here they covered the entire surface of the batter, so when you cut it and lift it up, it stretches out! The combination with the spicy sauce on the table was excellent! On the other hand, the yakisoba was disappointing. It was placed on the hot plate early on, so the bottom was burnt and not very enjoyable. Also, the sauce was thin and lacked flavor. This resulted in a -0.2 score. - Other notes - Friday around 6:30 PM, about 10 people waiting, all foreigners. Apparently, they offer okonomiyaki for vegans, which is popular among overseas customers. The staff (possibly the owner) spoke fluent English. We were told that we were the last customers of the day, so they showed a sign to the people lining up behind us to let them know they couldn't order anymore. As compensation, they offered us 3 servings of complimentary oolong tea, which we appreciated. Originally, they were planning to give us free beer, but one of us was the designated driver and the others weren't in the mood for alcohol, so we chose oolong tea instead. It was heartwarming to experience the kindness and warmth of the people in Osaka once again.

@kobe.1000 is managed by Paparin (@paparin_kobe). Okonomiyaki Chitose @okonomiyaki_chitose, located at the subway Dobutsuen-mae station. I ordered the popular dish, Pork Mix Tamago (¥1,300). The restaurant is usually crowded, so I aimed to be the first in line and arrived 30 minutes before opening. The small restaurant has a counter with 4 seats. Surprisingly, I was the only Japanese person there, which was amusing. The Pork Mix Tamago was delicious, with large shrimp. I couldn't find the pineapple, but I enjoyed the meal nonetheless. Had lunch at a local restaurant near the hotel. The hotel prices in central Osaka were 2.5 times higher, so this time I opted for a unique and affordable stay at Shin-Imamiya (lol). Stayed there and found it convenient as it is close to JR, Midosuji Line, and Sakaisuji Line. The restaurant is in a deep area, but thanks to the high ratings on TripAdvisor, there were many foreign customers. I arrived 10 minutes before the opening at 11:30 am on a weekday, ordered the 1400 yen Takasu-yaki, and it was full right when it opened. The balance of acidity, sweetness, and bitterness was great, and even though it was pricey, it was delicious.

☆彡Before the store opens, there is always a line at the popular okonomiyaki restaurant. They open at 4:30 pm on weekdays. Arriving at 4:20 pm, there were about 6 people in line. With 4 counter seats and 4 table seats, we calculated that we would be in the first round of seating. As expected, we were seated as soon as the restaurant opened. Located in a deep spot in a small alley off the zoo front shopping street, this old-fashioned okonomiyaki restaurant is popular among tourists as well. While the soft okonomiyaki is a hit, my favorite is the yakisoba. The sauce used for the yakisoba is different from the okonomiyaki sauce and has a nostalgic taste that becomes addictive. - Negiyaki Pork Mix (1,450 yen) - Yakisoba Pork Mix (1,300 yen) - Kirin Lager Large Bottle (600 yen) The yakisoba here uses pre-steamed noodles instead of fresh boiled noodles. After steaming and frying, it is mixed with large cabbage and other vegetables and finished with a special sauce that is truly addictive. The unique flavor of the sauce, mixed with the umami, is something special. While okonomiyaki is usually loaded with mayonnaise and sauce, I prefer the light flavor of the Negiyaki with dashi soy sauce. The dough here is soft even after cooking, making it too delicate to move around with a spatula. The fluffy dough, with a high egg content, has an orange color and pineapple bits, giving it a unique texture. Drinking beer while enjoying the sizzling hot food on the iron plate is a delight. Although we were lucky to be seated in the first round, this popular restaurant is always crowded. Despite the small space, it seems like a great place to share with a group of friends. Thank you for reading until the end. Your likes, saves, and follows are truly appreciated. If you enjoyed this content, please give it a thumbs up. I also have an Instagram account @ginjirou.star, so feel free to check it out!

■Restaurant Information When in Osaka, you have to try some flour-based dishes, right? That's why I headed to "Okonomiyaki Chitose." The charming exterior alone raised my expectations. I lined up 30 minutes before opening to secure the pole position. I tried a variety of dishes. ■Menu Items Tried - Pork Mix ¥1300 - Takasugayaki ¥1400 - Buttered Oysters ¥600 There are three iron plates right in front of the counter where the food is skillfully cooked. The live cooking experience is great. The buttered oysters come in large pieces, with a seasoning that enhances the natural flavors rather than the buttery taste. As for the pork mix, the pork is crispy, and the squid and shrimp are quite large. The slightly sweet and fruity sauce adds to the overall deliciousness. The Takasugayaki is a specialty only available here. It's soba rice wrapped in leeks and grilled. It's light and easy to eat, thanks to the generous amount of leeks. I highly recommend the okonomiyaki here! On the Instagram account "Tokyo Lunch Eats with a Drinker," which has 70,000 followers, delicious food from Tokyo and various regions across Japan is being introduced!

After relaxing at Spa World in the new world, I wanted to eat some delicious okonomiyaki, so I visited this place. I arrived at 4:15 pm on Saturday and there were already two people waiting in line. By the time the restaurant opened at 4:30 pm, it was already full inside and there was a line outside. Truly a popular spot. My friend and I ordered a large portion of squid okonomiyaki, yakisoba with pork, and a large bottle of beer, which came to a total of 2,600 yen. Both the okonomiyaki and yakisoba were cooked on a griddle at the counter and then transferred to a hot plate at our table to keep warm. The okonomiyaki had about 7 large pieces of squid, making it a bit difficult to cut with a spatula. It was the most delicious okonomiyaki I've ever had. I was surprised to find pineapple in it, but it surprisingly went well with the dish. The yakisoba had thick noodles and the sweet sauce coated it perfectly, making it very tasty. It was a great accompaniment to the beer. I saw two foreigners dining there, and the staff were very kind and hospitable. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall pleasant dining experience.
