It's cold~. On days like this, you want to eat something warm, right? So, I went and had the "Niku-Dofu Teishoku" (Pork and Tofu Set Meal). The meat and tofu were piping hot and delicious. The broth was really good too. The meat was tender and tasty. Of course, I finished every last bit and drop, and had a very satisfying lunch.

I had been curious about this place for a while, so I hurried over for lunch. I made it just in time. If I had been a little later, I would have had to wait in line. The tempura and meat tofu were delicious, but I decided to order the daily special. Soon, the fried tofu with duck and red eggplant arrived. Thank you for the delicious meal in the middle of the day. I'm curious about the tempura and meat tofu, so I will definitely come back again.

I went to Isshin for lunch for the first time in a while. As usual, it was packed as soon as it opened at 11:30. I went with a former colleague, who ordered the Iberico pork and mushroom tofu set, while I had the daily special conger eel tempura rice bowl. At this restaurant, for rice bowl dishes, you can choose from sizes ranging from extra small (140g) to extra large (350g). Despite knowing it was futile resistance, I opted for the "small" size to cut down on carbs. The toppings here are generously portioned, providing a satisfying meal. The tempura sauce is also generously poured (the so-called "drowned in sauce" state), which personally I really enjoyed. They showcase the daily specials on Instagram, so it's fun to decide what to order based on that. Thanks for the delicious meal today.

It's been a while since I went to Ichisei for lunch. I usually go for the classic meat and tofu dish, but this time I was tempted by the daily special "seafood katsu don." I opted for a small size for the rice portion. The katsu don was filled with shrimp, scallops, and conger eel, and the broth mixed with the rice was delicious. This restaurant doesn't use paper order slips, and customers have to self-report their bill, which shows their trust in customers. Thank you for the meal today as well.

I visited for lunch and arrived right when the restaurant opened. The meat tofu was delicious, but the daily special was truly amazing. This time, I indulged in the eel bowl for 1300 yen, which also came with a classic egg tempura on the side. When ordering, I was told that rice refills were not available for bowl dishes, so I asked for a small 180g portion. The eel tempura was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the sauce perfectly coating the rice. I want to visit again when the timing is right, as there tends to be a long line if you arrive late.

The food was delicious, so I visited two days in a row. The meat tofu with a rich and flavorful broth is amazing. I also tried the Iberico pork, but I prefer the regular one. The daily specials look delicious too, and the portions are huge. It's also nice that the service is quick.

I used this restaurant for a company dinner. It was a 6,000 yen course with all-you-can-drink option. The menu included appetizers, assorted sashimi, grilled dishes, soup, fried food, simmered dish, seasonal mixed rice, and red miso soup. All the dishes were delicious, especially the deep-fried eel. I think this restaurant is very convenient for both individuals and small gatherings. I would like to use it again. Thank you for the meal.

I came here because I wanted to tell my friend about this place. Lately, I have been coming to Isshin-san and trying the daily specials or fried dishes, but as someone who recommends this place, I decided to go back to basics and ordered the "Niku Dofu Teishoku (extra meat)." It was delicious as always. The richness and sweetness of the meat come out in the broth, which is definitely the main highlight. The ingredients include meat, white leeks, a block of tofu, and a half-cooked egg, and when combined with rice, miso soup, and a side dish, it's more than enough to fill you up. I realized once again that this is the essence of this place. Thank you for the meal.

I had the daily lunch special! The design of the meal made me look forward to being able to enjoy it for dinner as well. It was a business lunch, so I didn't have any alcohol, but I heard the mapo tofu is famous. However, I couldn't help but notice the tempura the person next to me was eating. The portion wasn't huge overall, but it was just right for me, an older gentleman.

The gentle meat and tofu in a delicious broth curry is popular and there is always a line during lunch time at this popular restaurant. During our first visit with a friend, we descended the stairs of the building and entered a calm Japanese-style space, forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city. We arrived right at opening time so we were able to get in without waiting, but soon the restaurant was full and a line had formed. It's recommended to visit right at opening time. We were seated at a table in the tatami room and ordered the Curry Meat and Tofu Set. The curry, with a gentle broth, was filled with plenty of meat and tofu. Eating it with rice was so delicious. As we looked around, we noticed the line had gotten even longer, making us feel rushed by the impatient eyes of the waiting customers. Despite this, we look forward to trying the regular meat and tofu next time. Thank you for the meal.

I managed to slip into the counter seat just before 12 o'clock. If I wasn't dining alone, I would have definitely been waiting in line. I knew it was a popular restaurant. The opportunity for an early lunch before 12 o'clock had arrived, or rather, I made it happen ('◇')ゞ Going down the stairs, there was a high-quality curtain, and beyond that, on the left was the kitchen, in front was the counter seat, and on the right was the table seat. I found out that the restaurant had quite a capacity. The lunch menu was as follows:
- Variety fry set meal: 1,300 yen
- Tempura set meal: 1,200 yen
- Meat and tofu set meal: 900 yen
- Curry meat and tofu set meal: 900 yen
Options for extra meat (+400 yen) and extra tofu (+150 yen)
As a frugal elderly person, I ordered the meat and tofu set meal without hesitation, and it was delicious and healthy. The individual pot was filled with plenty of white leeks, beef belly meat, tofu, and a soft-boiled egg. The broth was a soy sauce-based soup familiar to Japanese people for simmering dishes. It had a flavor that everyone loves, maybe like diluted sukiyaki sauce. It paired perfectly with the beef. Of course, it was a perfect match for the tofu as well. I noticed the presence of the soft-boiled egg when eating the tofu with a spoon. When you split it in half and let it soak in the broth, it was blissful. Actually, the amount of rice was initially small. I think more than half of the male guests probably go for seconds. The middle-aged man sitting next to me did the same. However, I resisted the urge because I had a heavy dinner planned for that evening (a homemade giant okonomiyaki). Oh, it was delicious. Next time, I'll go for the tempura set meal. I paid quickly with PayPay. Thank you for the meal.

I went to this restaurant for the daily lunch special, which was a variety fry set, and I was very satisfied with it. The set included shrimp, scallop, salmon, chicken, and a half-boiled egg fry, all served with Worcestershire sauce and the restaurant's famous tartar sauce. The half-boiled egg was especially delicious, with its runny yolk. Overall, the variety of fried items was tasty and enjoyable. It was a nice change from the usual tempura. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch is sometimes visited, but it was my first time coming for dinner. They are only open on weekdays, so it's hard to go at night. The menu is well-written and a bit hard to read. I was indecisive about what to order, but the staff kindly recommended various dishes. Even though it wasn't on the menu, they made a sashimi platter for me. Each plate was beautifully arranged. The sashimi was delicious, and they even had oysters! The red clam was also very good. I ordered the salad with prosciutto and tomatoes, which everyone seems to get. I'm not sure if you can call it a salad, but the tomatoes wrapped in prosciutto were delicious. The tomatoes were peeled nicely, giving a good texture. I was recommended the white fish tempura, which was crispy and easy to eat like potatoes. The oyster tempura was also delicious. I love simmered yellowtail, and I was completely engrossed in eating it. I couldn't resist ordering the fried oysters again, as they were so delicious. The large oyster fry with two pieces was consistently tasty! They had five types of sake that day, and I tried them all. I wish they were open on weekends too. Thank you for the meal.

Sakaisuji Hommachi is a popular restaurant where there is always a light line of about 10 people for lunch. I usually go for the meat tofu set if the daily special doesn't catch my interest. Today, I was intrigued by the name of the dish called "The Rice Goes Down Smoothly Set". It includes silver whiting, dried beef, egg, grated turnip, homemade nameko mushrooms, tofu, rice, pickles, and miso soup for only 1200 yen, which is a great deal! The restaurant not only serves delicious meat tofu but also has amazing soup stock. I look forward to trying the daily specials every day. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Thank you for today as well. I arrived right after the opening at around 11:30 am. Luckily, since I was alone, I was able to be seated at the counter promptly, which I appreciate. I usually go for the reliable "meat and tofu with extra meat," but today I decided to try the daily special, "Aomori-produced crispy tofu set with real duck." Unlike the usual beef and tofu dish, this one has a delicious broth with a hint of sweetness from the duck fat. The meat, which I believe is twisted chicken, has a nice chew to it. The crispy tofu comes with watercress, which complements the refreshing taste of the duck broth oil. Just like the regular meat and tofu dish, it comes with one block of tofu and one boiled egg, making it just the right amount of food. Thank you for the meal today as well.

I visited the restaurant outside of lunchtime and it was almost full. I was torn between choosing the popular meat and tofu or tempura set meal, but I decided on the seasonal dish of fried oysters since the season is ending soon. The oysters were large and the portion was generous. It's easy to see why this dish is popular among people working in nearby offices.

It's been about 9 years since I last visited "Issei," a popular meat tofu restaurant in Funabashi. I arrived a bit early and as I waited outside, a line started forming behind me. I moved up a little to make room for others, and soon everyone else followed suit, forming a neat line. When the restaurant opened, the business people rushed in and the place quickly filled up. The atmosphere inside was lively, like a company cafeteria. By the time I left, there was a line outside as well. I ordered the "Hiroshima oyster tofu set meal," which is only available at this time of year. It had a red miso base, resembling a hot pot with oysters. The dish included five large oysters, tofu, egg, chopped green onions, and tempura crumbs. The soup had a strong aroma of bonito broth and red miso, with a hint of the sea from the oysters. The oysters were plump and flavorful, and the tofu was soft and delicious. The rice was moist and sweet, adding to the overall happiness of the meal. I also enjoyed the dish with shichimi pepper for some extra kick. The soft-boiled egg added a creamy touch to the dish. I finished the meal with satisfaction and already planning to try the tempura set meal next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Visited again. As usual, I couldn't decide between the meat tofu, tempura, or maybe the oyster fry for this season, but the daily special is always tempting. Today's special is Iberico pork and mushroom meat tofu set meal. Even though it's not pork, the broth is delicious, so it's worth a try. Just like always, there's an egg and a block of tofu hidden under the meat. I opted for extra meat this time. Come to think of it, the set meal here provides a lot of protein with meat, egg, and tofu. Thanks for the meal.

Today's favorite lunch spot that I haven't been to yet is "Issei" in Osaka Honmachi. Arrived with four colleagues at 12:50. The restaurant was full. Later found out that there were actually empty seats (laughs). Shortly after, we were guided to a table for four. We ordered the double portion of meat and tofu for 900 yen, with an additional 400 yen to double the meat and broth. The size of the bowl changes (drooling). The food was served quickly, and the hot meat and tofu arrived. Oh? There's an egg too. I ate it with anticipation and found that the broth was a refined Japanese-style broth, the meat was thinly sliced and tender. Being a big eater, ordering the double portion was definitely the right choice! The tofu went well with the broth, and the half-cooked egg mixed with the hot broth, green onions, and rice was also delicious. I ordered a second helping of rice without checking if it was an extra charge, but it turned out to be free! I only found out when I received the bill. The entrance was packed with customers all the way down the stairs, showing how popular the restaurant is. To avoid causing inconvenience to the restaurant, it's classy for customers of a popular establishment to wait outside (even though it's cold) instead of crowding around the payment counter or entrance. I left the restaurant muttering to myself about the experience.

"I might be told, 'Here again?' but yes, I'm here again. I usually go for the reliable meat tofu, but today I decided to try the daily special, which was my favorite fried oysters. You could choose between the regular 3-piece oyster fry or the large 4-piece oyster fry, and I went for the large portion. It was my first time trying the oyster fry at this restaurant, and they use big Hiroshima oysters generously for the fry. The oysters were so big that they were cut in half, so it looked like there were actually 8 pieces. They also generously topped it with my favorite tartar sauce (probably homemade?), which made me extremely satisfied. They also offer Worcestershire sauce on the side, but I believe tartar sauce is the best match for oyster fry. Thank you for the delicious meal."

I had already conquered the "Tempura set meal," the regular "Mapo tofu set meal," and even the "Iberico pork and mushroom tofu set meal," so today I decided to challenge the "Curry Mapo tofu set meal." You can choose between mild and spicy levels, and I opted for mild. It arrived in about 3 minutes, and when it was placed on the table, the aroma of curry was just like that of "curry udon." The original Mapo tofu broth is undeniably good, but as I continued eating, the curry flavor seemed to overpower it, slightly diminishing the goodness of the broth, which was a bit disappointing. However, the portion of meat had been increased, and the dish came with a whole block of tofu, a soft-boiled egg, meat, and white leeks in abundance. You can have a refill of rice, but honestly, I was already full as it is. I felt like just sipping the broth and heading home, but with the cold season approaching, having curry to warm me up might not be a bad idea. Thank you for the meal.
