During the COVID-19 pandemic and under the state of emergency, there are only a few restaurants in Kitashinchi where you can have a decent Japanese meal for lunch, excluding this place. It's quite scary, but this is the reality. If we count, there are only a few places like Mutsumi, Kaga Man Group, and Ogasawara. Fukunone focuses on set meals during lunchtime, Ishikawagawa closed down, and there's only Kimishima left. I chose the lunch with shrimp tempura and green tea soba here. The restaurant kindly made it warm green tea soba for me. The white rice, pickles, and miso soup are all perfect. It's very decent, no shortcuts were taken. It's very soothing. If you have a mediocre meal during lunchtime, it affects your health. I was saved. It's proper Japanese food. This is what Kitashinchi is all about now.

Today, I took a break from work and went to a new restaurant for lunch. I arrived right when they opened at 11:30. They offer a tempura set meal for 1800 yen. The restaurant has both counter and table seating, and it has a small but elegant atmosphere. The tempura is served in two batches. The apprentice is the one frying the tempura, but it is always checked by the master before being served. You can see them frying the tempura, which gives a sense of reassurance. The apprentice works efficiently and greets customers politely, showing that they are well-trained under the guidance of the master. It was a delightful meal.

This is my nth visit to this restaurant. Whenever I want to eat something absolutely delicious, I come here. This time, I started with the omakase course by the head chef, and then ordered some dishes from the menu that I wanted to try. I often enjoy trying the seasonal specialties at this restaurant. I like sitting at the counter seat, watching the chef fry tempura and prepare dishes while enjoying my meal.

I didn't know there was such a wonderful restaurant in this kind of place until it was recommended to me. In this day and age, you can enjoy delicious Japanese food at a great cost performance. They also serve game meat, and the meat dishes were very delicious. It's a restaurant I would like to visit again.

I work remotely and only go to the office about 1-2 times a week, so I have been exploring lunch spots in Kita-Shinchi recently. It seems like there are many reasonably priced restaurants in the area, maybe because of the business dinner crowd at night. It's been about 30 years since I was last in Kansai, and I find it nostalgic that it's now easier to get to Kita-Shinchi via the Diamor underground mall even on rainy days. The underground area is so vast that it's hard to tell what's where. I tried a restaurant I stumbled upon, and I wanted to share the atmosphere first. I had the daily lunch set with a variety of dishes. The staff were attentive to the lunchtime customers as well. Personally, I really liked the tempura. I think tempura is one of the most difficult dishes to make, but this one was crispy and had a nice texture from the seafood. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

We went to the Kappo restaurant "Mutsumorou" in Kitashinchi for lunch. Since there were two of us, we ordered the daily lunch set for 2200 yen and the tempura set for 1800 yen to share. Prices seem to have gone up quite a bit compared to last year. It's understandable in this day and age, but it's an increase of around 500 to 600 yen. Depending on the menu. Soon, the tempura started to be fried. A generous amount of oil was poured into a beautiful pot, and elegant-sized tempura was carefully fried. It's a luxurious time for lunch, isn't it? The tempura set first comes with four pieces of tempura: sweet potato, yam, eggplant, and shrimp. They are fried to a moist and elegant finish. Once you finish, another four pieces are served. This attention to detail is appreciated. The second round includes green pepper, pumpkin, sea bream, and shrimp. The daily lunch set included chicken and egg over rice and kakiage. The chicken and egg over rice had a lot of dashi broth. It's like they made the sauce for oyakodon very mild and added a lot of dashi. The kakiage had a crispy texture and the chewiness of the squid was very enjoyable and delicious. The small side dishes and miso soup were also delicious. The atmosphere was great, as expected in Kitashinchi. The portion size might be a bit small. It wasn't mentioned if you could get a rice refill, so I'm not sure, but I feel like it might not be enough for some people to feel full. Also, it's a bit on the expensive side. I understand that it's reasonable given that it's Kitashinchi, but there are many affordable lunch options in Kitashinchi, so I can't help but feel that way. However, I was satisfied with the atmosphere and the taste. If you don't need a large portion, this is a good place to enjoy a leisurely lunch in Kitashinchi.

Returning to Kitashinchi for lunch after a long time, I am amazed once again by the high quality every day♡ This time, I went to this Japanese restaurant that I've always wanted to try! It is located a 1-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station Exit 11-23, on the 2nd floor of the Sai no Eiraku Building. The interior has a Japanese atmosphere with a white wooden counter, table seats, and private tatami rooms at the back, catering to various needs. I had the "Cha-soba and small shrimp tempura set meal (tax included 1,300 yen)"~! The miso soup has simple ingredients like wheat gluten and wakame, but the broth is flavorful and delicious. I wish I could have this every day haha. The hot small shrimp tempura is crispy on the outside, with plenty of juicy meat inside! Both the salt and tempura dipping sauce were delicious and enjoyable*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'(*゚▽゚*)'・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・* The shredded rice is lightly seasoned with sansho pepper, which complements the meal nicely. The side dishes are pickled Chinese cabbage and simmered sea bream, both of which go well with the shredded rice. The cha-soba is fresh with a good texture, although the flavor is mild, it has a great throat feel and is delicious(((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))♡ The broth is not too sweet, with a refreshing and sharp taste! For dessert, I thought it was pineapple but it turned out to be grapefruit haha. I usually don't like bitterness, but there was no bitterness at all, and I was pleasantly surprised W(`0`)W It was refreshing and enjoyable. Next time, I want to try the sashimi set meal or the daily special! For men, you may need to order extra as the portion might be a bit small, but it's a satisfying Japanese lunch where you can feel grateful for being Japanese ===========

I had decided to treat myself to a special day for a while, and the place I wanted to go to was this restaurant, "Kappo Mutsugorou." I had visited this restaurant for lunch a few times and once for dinner, and I fell in love with it. It is a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant located in Kitashinchi. I had made a reservation for the "Chef's Choice Course ¥10,000" and sat at the counter seat. Let's dig in! - Appetizers: Both appetizers were elegant and had a gentle flavor, making me excited for the upcoming dishes. The chopstick rest with the restaurant's name was cute. - Bottled Beer: I had been to the gym before coming here, so the beer tasted even better. - Sashimi Platter: Tuna, sea bream, squid, turban shell, sweet shrimp - all of them were incredibly delicious. The richness of the tuna, the tender texture and sweetness of the squid, and the unique flavor of the turban shell were all outstanding. - Simmered Abalone and Grilled Eggplant Cold Pot: The abalone was tender, bursting with flavor with each bite. The cold broth with a hint of dashi was excellent, and the slightly bitter taste of the grilled eggplant added a nice touch. - Grilled Fish: The grilled fish here is my favorite. It was fluffy and conveyed the deliciousness of the fish. The edamame served alongside was also tender and tasty. - Sake (Tokuyama/Fukui Prefecture): A dry sake that paired well with the dishes, making me enjoy both the food and the drink. - Lotus Root Bun: This was delicious! The lotus root maintained its crunchiness even in bun form, and the sweet bean paste infused in the skin was delightful. - Boiled Peanuts: These were unexpectedly delicious, becoming soft and fluffy when boiled. - Sake (Yahiko/Yamagata Prefecture): A delicious sake with a refreshing taste, and I particularly enjoyed the rich flavor it had. - Fried Dish: Grilled Conger Eel wrapped in Shiso Leaf - I was delighted to have this dish even though I didn't request it. The conger eel was tender and fatty, complemented by the refreshing shiso leaf. - Snow Crab: The chef kindly served this as a surprise. It was snow crab from Hokkaido, with a crunchy and sweet texture that was delightful. - Fresh Oyster: This was one of my favorites! The oyster from Senhoji, Hokkaido, had a firm yet creamy texture with a milky richness that I loved. - Inaniwa Udon: I chose this over tea soba or rice. The glossy udon was smooth and delicious, with an amazing texture that went down effortlessly. - Fruit: A satisfying end to a wonderful meal. I visited alone but had a great time chatting with the staff and enjoying delicious food. It was the perfect treat for myself, and the chef's personality and the food were all fantastic. Thank you for the feast!

Osaka, Kitashinchi is known as a high-class area with upscale traditional Japanese restaurants and teahouses, bustling at night. However, recently, there has been an increase in restaurants offering affordable lunch menus that cater to working women, which is a delightful trend. What used to be exclusive and pricey establishments are now more accessible for casual lunch outings (*ˊ˘ˋ*)。♪:*° The omakase course for dinner starts at 10,000 yen at "Kappo Mutsugorou," a popular restaurant known for using carefully selected seasonal ingredients. On weekdays, they offer a variety of reasonably priced lunch sets that are sure to please: - Tempura set meal 1,300 yen - Cha soba and small shrimp tempura set meal 1,300 yen - Daily special set meal 1,620 yen - Tempura rice bowl set meal 1,620 yen - Tempura bowl (with side dish, miso soup, pickles, and fruit) 1,080 yen - Chicken and egg rice bowl (with side dish, miso soup, pickles, and fruit) 1,080 yen, and more. The daily special set meal features the chef preparing dishes such as grilled fish using ingredients sourced for the day right in front of you! On the day of my visit, the fish of the day was Spanish mackerel. I opted for the "Cha soba and small shrimp tempura set meal," which was perfect for a hot day as it was light and refreshing. The fragrant cha soba was delicious and healthy, and the freshly fried small shrimp were plump and tasty. The side dishes included pickled Chinese cabbage and deep-fried burdock root with leaf. I also enjoyed a bowl of rice topped with my favorite shredded dried bonito and sansho pepper. For dessert, I had a bite-sized piece of melon (ฅ´~`ฅ)The post-meal fruit as a sweet treat was a nice touch. The refined and serene atmosphere with a white wooden counter and polished copper tempura pot created a luxurious dining experience. Watching the skilled chef prepare the dishes right in front of you felt like a live performance. The name "Mutsugorou" felt charming, and even the cute chopstick rest added to the overall experience. The gruff head chef's attentive service and the warm send-off added a nice touch. I am now curious to try their dinner course as well. Thank you for the wonderful meal (*´▽`人)

I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 for lunch. I thought about having some tea while waiting because I was a bit early, but I decided against it as I didn't want to eat anything before enjoying the delicious meal. I spent about 20 minutes in Utsubo Park to pass the time. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the Eiraku Building, with a sign on the 1st floor making it easy to find. For my meal, I had the daily special set which included: grilled conger eel tempura, shishito peppers, onions, conger eel meatball hotpot, mozuku seaweed, potato salad, pickles, an orange, rice, and miso soup. I also added a sashimi platter with swordtip squid, white shrimp, sea bream, and tuna. I got permission to take photos.

This year, there are more than 10 times as many weekdays off than usual, haha. On one of those days, I went to Kitashinchi in search of a weekday-only lunch. I visited the restaurant called Kappo Mutsugorou this time. It seems like a high-end place at night, but their lunch menu is quite affordable. The daily special set meal for 1620 yen included thickly sliced grilled saury, vegetable tempura with small shrimp, spinach with sesame sauce, potato salad, rice, miso soup, pickles, and a melon dessert. The saury was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The tempura had plenty of vegetables, and the shrimp was firm and tasty. I enjoyed it more with just salt rather than dipping in tempura sauce. The rice also tasted better that way. The chef looked intimidating, but his presence exuded a true artisanal aura, making me feel at ease while enjoying my lunch. The contrast between his tough appearance and the elegant atmosphere was charming. It was a refined and calm setting, typical of Kitashinchi even during lunchtime, and experiencing that for just over a thousand yen was great. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

At 0:25, we arrived at a traditional Japanese restaurant with a cozy and high-quality atmosphere, featuring a counter with 6 seats, tables for 2 people, and tables for 4 people. We enjoyed a daily set menu for 1,620 yen, which included salt-grilled mackerel, tempura of shiitake mushrooms and small shrimp, 2 side dishes, miso soup, rice, pickles, and fruit. At 0:32, we also tried a deliciously prepared rice bowl with delicately arranged colorful Japanese dishes.

I visited the restaurant before 1 p.m. on a weekday. I was seated at a table just as another customer was leaving. I ordered the daily special set meal, which consisted of grilled fish and sakura shrimp tempura. The meal was served in about 15 minutes. It included grilled fish, two side dishes, pickles, rice, miso soup, and a dessert of orange. The tempura was served about 5 minutes later. The grilled fish had crispy skin and tender meat, with a delicious flavor. The sakura shrimp tempura had a nice seasonal flavor. The only downside was that the vegetable tempura (eggplant, pumpkin, and shishito pepper) was not freshly fried, unlike the sakura shrimp tempura. The side dishes were mozuku seaweed vinegar and potato salad, both tasty but I was hoping for a simmered dish with a strong broth. The rice, miso soup, and pickles were all delicious, typical of a lunch in Kitashinchi. Overall, it was a decent meal, but compared to other top restaurants in Kitashinchi, it felt somewhat average. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the high-level Japanese restaurant called Kappo Mutsugorou in Kitashinchi for lunch. It was my first time visiting this restaurant. I arrived before 12 pm and the restaurant had a few customers, but there was plenty of seating available including tables, tatami rooms, and a counter. I always have a hard time deciding what to order on my first visit. I noticed a wonderful tempura station in front of me, so I decided to order the tempura set meal. While waiting, I wiped my hands with a hot towel and enjoyed the pleasant aroma. It was a refreshing experience during the waiting time. - Order: Tempura set meal 1300 yen, includes 8 kinds of tempura, potato salad, pickles, miso soup, dessert, and rice. The tempura set meal is served in two rounds, with freshly fried tempura of 8 varieties. 1st round: shrimp, eggplant, sweet potato, onion 2nd round: shrimp, pumpkin, green pepper, sea bream. The tempura had a light and crispy batter, allowing the flavors of the ingredients to shine through. The miso soup had a delicious broth that was very satisfying. I highly recommend the tempura set meal if you want to enjoy freshly fried tempura. Thank you for the meal!

I had a reasonable lunch at a restaurant in Kitashinchi. Today I had the daily special for 1620 yen, which included salt-grilled mackerel, sakura shrimp tempura (2 mini tempura, eggplant, pumpkin, green pepper), two small side dishes (blanched spinach, mozuku seaweed), rice, miso soup, fruit, and pickles. The restaurant was cozy and I enjoyed delicious Japanese food. Thank you for the meal.

☆彡Delicious and visually stunning kaiseki restaurant in Kitashinchi specializing in tempura and sashimi. While the daily lunch specials are great, I decided to try something new and ordered the "Ten Chirashi," which is tempura cut into bite-sized pieces on a bed of sushi rice. It was my first time trying this unique dish and I was excited! The restaurant has 6 counter seats, 2 tables, and 2 private rooms, all elegantly designed with white wood. It was a delightful experience to enjoy the sounds and aromas of the food being prepared before it was served. The "Ten Chirashi Set" (1,620 yen) included fatty tuna sashimi, mozuku seaweed vinegar, pickles, miso soup, and fruit, along with tempura shrimp, pickled ginger, eggplant, squid, okra, sillago fish, and sweet potato tempura. The colors of the tempura were reminiscent of spring, and the fluffy tamagoyaki egg added a gentle touch to the meal. The rice, mixed with kombu and vinegar, had a slow acidity that made me wonder if there was a special touch to the rice vinegar. The tempura was lightly salted, making it easy to enjoy without any additional sauce. Each piece of tempura paired perfectly with the vinegared rice and salt. The two slices of fatty tuna sashimi were incredibly delicious. It's amazing to be able to enjoy such high-quality ingredients even during lunch, making me curious about their dinner courses. It's great to feel the same level of satisfaction during lunch as you would during a more formal dinner. I also have an Instagram account @ginjirou.star for more food adventures!

This is a restaurant located in Kita-Shinchi, Osaka. I visited for a solo lunch on a weekday afternoon. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 14:00, and the restaurant is located on the second floor. I ordered the daily lunch special for 1620 yen (tax included) from the lunch menu at the counter seat. The meal arrived in about 10 minutes. It was a luxurious lunch with two main dishes, side dishes, pickles, and miso soup. One of the main dishes was Kaki-dote nabe, which had a rich flavor that went well with rice. There were about four plump oysters swimming in the dish. The other main dish was squid tentacle tempura. Every dish was delicious. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

We made a reservation as usual and visited the restaurant with two people. We started with beer, as always. The appetizers were two kinds: sea bream roe with turnip stew, and natural watercress. The sashimi included squid, fatty tuna, saury, sweet shrimp, and grilled filefish liver. Everything was delicious, but the grilled filefish liver was exceptional. The soup contained beef tendon, turnip, and red konjac. The grilled dishes were cod milt and red snapper, served with edamame which was also excellent. Then we had mushrooms and natural nameko mushrooms, and finally crab and mozuku seaweed. For the main course, I chose tea soba as usual, while my companion had udon noodles. Everything was delicious. We had beer first, followed by two servings of cold sake and two highballs.

It tasted good with salt or tempura dipping sauce. The crispy rice was good, with a subtle amount of sansho pepper. The tea soba was simply delicious. Quail egg, wasabi, and dashi were good. The miso soup with seaweed and wheat gluten was tasty. The pickles and fruit (pear) were on the sweeter side and good. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant for lunch. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded, maybe due to the rain. The daily special set meal included conger eel and vegetable tempura, as well as grilled horse mackerel with salt. I usually avoid grilled horse mackerel, but I decided to trust the restaurant. First, I tried the tempura conger eel with dipping sauce, it was light and delicious. The vegetables were seasoned with salt, and the corn was especially tasty. The side dishes of cold tofu and seaweed were also delicious. The grilled horse mackerel was tender and tasty, without any fishy smell. The rice and miso soup were also delicious. I would like to visit this restaurant again for dinner once the situation settles down.
