I somewhat failed at drinking alone, so I decided to make up for that failure. The only way is to attack from the other side. Taking the subway to get here. The quiet atmosphere adds to the sense of reassurance. So, let's attack! Starting with the solo set today. The first drink will be a beer. Kirin Brau Meister. It's not a beer you see everywhere. It's delicious, isn't it? The set includes chicken ham, salad, marinated items, just the right amount for one person neatly arranged. The leisurely passing time, a delicious beer, and snacks. This is how solo drinking should be. I added shrimp flan and today I went for a highball. There were so many choices that I couldn't decide. The staff recommended one that was refreshing, so I went with Teacher's Highball. It's really refreshing... dangerously easy to keep drinking. Feeling confident, I went for another highball, VAT 69 Highball. This one is also refreshing. But it has a deep flavor. I enjoyed it with Catalana. Thinking vaguely, learning about delicious drinks, and leaving the restaurant in a good mood. A basic, yet excellent solo drinking experience. I know I will come back here by taking the subway again.

It's been a while since the three of us relaxed together. The restaurant was amazing. The food was incredibly delicious. The shrimp flan was seriously the best. And then, the gratin with flying fish roe. What was that? It really touched my heart. Thank you for the meal. Thank you. It's a wonderful restaurant.

I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while, and when the weather got warmer, I thought, "Let's go!" Then, there was a recommendation from MyRebi-sama, and the food looked even more delicious than I had imagined. I have to go now! As it was getting warmer, I found the place along the road. They had a terrace seat, and the atmosphere was lovely. I was seated at the counter, perfect for a solo drink. While I was there, I saw two solo female customers enjoying some appetizers and a drink before leaving. It was a nice spot for some alone time. On my way back, if I pass by, I will definitely stop by. I ordered the following: - Solo Set (1000 yen): One drink and assorted appetizers - Small Lasagna (450 yen) - Shrimp Flan (390 yen) - Lemon Sour (470 yen) The fig butter was delicious, and the carrot rapeseed salad was crunchy and slightly sweet. The lasagna was a must-try, with a layer of potatoes, bolognese, and cheese. The shrimp flan was like a rich shrimp pudding, with chunks of shrimp and a flavorful sauce. I'm sure all the other items on the menu are delicious too. Thank you to the MyRebi-sama for the recommendation! It was a delightful meal.

Located in Minamisato 7-chome, a 3-minute walk from the subway station, this place has a charming exterior that looks like a great spot for enjoying good drinks. The interior is dimly lit and cozy, with both counter and table seating. While the a la carte menu is reasonably priced, the set menu is a better deal for solo drinkers. The "Solo Drinking" set costs 1000 yen and includes one drink (up to 590 yen) and a chef's selection of appetizers. You can choose from three types of white wine, but I went with the first one because I wasn't sure. The organic set of appetizers was lavish and delicious, with a variety of small dishes that included vegetables. The ham was moist and tender, perfect for pairing with the white wine. I ordered a second glass of white wine because the first one was so good. This is a great place to stop by if you happen to be passing by. Cheers!

In the morning, I attended a workshop on ancient documents, had pasta and beer at "Sapori" on Tanukikoji Street for lunch, and then took a cultural class in the afternoon. I used a Donichika ticket to travel to Nannana's bar, which I had been wanting to visit for a while. It was Saturday at 4 PM. There were 5 customers before me and 2 after me. I was seated at a corner table for two. I ordered the solo set for 1,100 yen, which included a drink and a set of assorted dishes. I chose barley shochu "Tsukushi" with water. The drink was served in a large glass with a huge rectangular ice cube, which kept it cold without diluting it too much. The assorted dishes included homemade bread with curry-flavored egg mayonnaise dip, pork ham, salami, chicken ham, spicy green bean salad, sautéed asparagus and mini scallops, and carrot salad. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The homemade bread was fluffy and addictive with the curry egg dip. I had already decided to try it after seeing the menu photos. I also tried the shrimp flan for 430 yen, a chilled chawanmushi with a rich shrimp broth. It had two layers, with herbs and shrimp broth on top and shrimp meat and creamy shrimp broth chawanmushi on the bottom. It was delicious, especially on a hot day. There were so many dishes I wanted to try, like lasagna and beef tendon doria. I will definitely come back with a big appetite next time. I spent 45 minutes there and paid 1,530 yen. It was still early, but I had been out all day and was already feeling sleepy. My early bedtime and waking habits seem to be getting stronger lately, as I was already feeling tired at this time of day.

【First Visit on June 25, 2022】Due to the pandemic, the safety conference aimed at preventing work-related accidents and commuting accidents, which had been canceled for the past two years and last year, was held for the first time in three years this year. I left my house on Saturday afternoon. The infection situation has calmed down considerably, but to prevent crowding, the event was held in a much larger venue than usual. The bowling tournament and social gathering that were usually held after the safety conference with participating partner companies were canceled. I still feel resistant to drinking in crowded places with unfamiliar people. Therefore, I decided to go drinking with three colleagues who I see every day at work and are like family to me. Although I usually do not drink alone as much as I used to when I was single, there are still many unexplored restaurants near the Nanago 7-chome station, which is the transfer station for the bus. I found a cozy izakaya that opens at 2 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends and holidays, and also allows seat reservations through Tabelog. I made a reservation for the second place at 6 pm. After finishing the conference around 3:30 pm in Higashi-Sapporo, I changed from my work clothes to casual clothes in the restroom at Nanago 7-chome station and arrived at the restaurant a little before 4 pm. The cozy restaurant had two 4-person table seats, one 2-person table seat, a counter with 6 seats, and a few other seats for about 4 people. Since there were already two customers seated at one of the 4-person table seats, I asked the female staff if we could sit at the other available 4-person table seat as one of our colleagues who went home to drop off his car would join us later. The staff said it was fine as long as we left by 6 pm, which was perfect as we had a reservation at the second place at 6 pm. My colleague and I, who love wine, decided to start with a well-chilled white wine. We ordered the "Assorted Appetizers for Two" and enjoyed salami, chicken ham, salad, marinated vegetables, ratatouille, bread, pistachios, and more. The seasoning was great and went well with the cold white wine. When our colleague arrived about 15 minutes later and ordered a beer, followed by two highballs, we decided to order additional dishes such as "Herring Carpaccio," "Quiche," and "Homemade Bacon." We also each had a glass of red wine from the decanter and a glass of red wine served by the glass. The bill came to 10,200 yen including tax, so it was 3,400 yen per person. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and we all agreed that it was a place we would like to visit for a quick drink after work. Thank you for the meal. Finally made it! I was worried I wouldn't get in because it was after another popular restaurant, but luckily I was able to get a reservation. The place isn't very big, so I don't want it to get too crowded and become well-known. The menu had so many tempting options like fig butter, fried nagaimo, and a great selection of drinks. The roast pork cheeks were a standout dish that I haven't seen at other places I usually go to. Everything I tried was delicious, and I wish I could live closer to this place! Can't wait to go back. The place is open from 3 pm on weekends and holidays, so it's a great spot for a casual visit. I ordered the solo dining set for 1,000 yen with a beer at the counter. The drink menu had a variety of highball options, showing a strong focus on whiskey. I went for the Kirin Brau Meister beer, which had a fine foam and was delicious. The set came with homemade bread, curry-flavored egg dip, salami, herring carpaccio, cookies, caponata, broccoli and chicken salad, and carrot rapé. The herring carpaccio was especially delicious, with a hint of anchovy sauce adding a unique touch. I decided to indulge a bit more and ordered the prawn flan for 390 yen and the roasted pork cheek for 1,100 yen, along with a decanter of Chardonnay for 1,490 yen. The prawn flan was rich and creamy, with sweet prawns adding a delightful flavor. The roasted pork cheek was hearty, accompanied by sautéed zucchini, bell peppers, potatoes, and Chinese yam. The flexibility of adding salt to change the flavor was a nice touch. The chef, who is also the owner, and his wife run the place, creating a welcoming and casual atmosphere. The reasonable prices make it a great spot for a visit, and I will definitely be coming back. I was reminded of a friend who passed away last year, so I hesitated to visit similar places, but this restaurant has a special charm that makes me want to return. "I visited the cozy bistro bar 'Youfuu Sakaba Toy' in the Nango 7-chome area that I had been curious about for a while. The interior of the restaurant is a bit dim and has a calm atmosphere with 3 tables and a unique counter. It's totally fine to visit alone. I started with a highball, which you can choose from various brands for 495 yen each. For my first drink, I chose the familiar Jim Beam and looked through the menu. I ordered: - "Assorted appetizers of the day" for 750 yen - "Chicken liver confit" for 390 yen - "Blue cheese cream" for 950 yen The 'Assorted appetizers of the day' surprised me with its volume, it looked like it was for two people but it was actually for one. Each dish had an authentic taste that paired well with the highball. The 'Chicken liver confit' had no strong taste and was surprisingly good for the price. As for the 'Blue cheese cream,' the rich cheese paired perfectly with the short pasta. It was even better than pasta from a pasta specialty shop. I switched to a stronger highball for my second drink and ended up having about 4 drinks. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely visit this place again. Thank you for the meal!"

Saying goodbye to Manten Shokudo at 10:00 PM, we moved across the street to a bar. Surprisingly, we were accompanied by the same celebrity ladies from Manten Shokudo! Upon entering, the owner greeted us and told us to sit wherever we liked. Since there were no other customers, we chose a table for four. After enjoying a meal and beer, we toasted with a Bulldog cocktail. Cheers! The snack we had was mixed nuts from a can. Bulldog is a simple cocktail made with vodka and grapefruit. Although fancy bars use premium vodka and fresh grapefruit, I'm fine with cheap vodka and grapefruit juice. Well, drinks taste better when enjoyed with beautiful women! Just then, a hungry demon joined us and ordered a beer, simmered hamburger, and pasta. The white dishes and beautiful presentation were impressive. I wonder if the demi-glace sauce for the hamburger and pasta sauce were made with Carrot's commercial products. Well, everything tastes better with a beautiful woman! The owner of this bar mainly stays in the kitchen and only comes to the customer area when called for orders. It's a nice environment where you can drink and have fun as you like. After about two hours of drinking, I received a LINE message from my wife informing me that it was already my birthday. Alright! Let's go for another drink!

After having a drink in the Hongo-dori shopping street, I came across the word "cider" and decided to check it out. It was a small bar. Since I was already full, I only ordered a mixed appetizer plate. I asked for a cider and sangria. The cider was served by Kirin and had a golden color with creamy white foam, resembling a pilsner. It had a refreshing acidity followed by a hint of apple aroma, very easy to drink. It felt like a low-alcohol champagne, perfect for summer. The sangria came with lemon slices and a hint of spice, with fruit chunks adding to the flavor. I also had the mixed appetizer plate and homemade bread. The bread was light and aromatic, served with olive oil mixed with salt, chili, and cheese. It was delicious. The plate had a variety of items, including a pate with a strong garlic flavor and a fish terrine with small shrimp that resembled kamaboko. The carrot salad was sweet with a mild acidity, and the dill-topped smoked salmon had a delightful fragrance. Before I knew it, my cider was empty, so I ordered a draft beer, which was also delicious. The bar had a small terrace, making it a great spot for summer. Overall, the food and drinks were delicious. Welcome! In September 2014, heading towards the Hongo shopping street from Nananananana Station in Shiraishi-ku, you will find a bistro in a place that used to be a series of yakiniku restaurants. The atmosphere is now more like an adult bistro, with a counter facing the wall, three tables, and a small interior. The husband and wife duo running the place are friendly and welcoming. The combination is just right. Despite the young clientele, half of them are dining alone, which is great. Starting with sangria, which is full of various fruit pulps, the atmosphere is lively. The homemade whole wheat bread with special olive oil is a healthy and delicious starter. The homemade duck prosciutto is a rare find, with a strong salty flavor, concentrated duck umami, and a hint of pepper spiciness. The pate de campagne is light and flavorful, while the carrot marinade is sweet and enjoyable. The pork piccata is served with potato salad and a thick, flavorful egg. The pasta dishes are rich and intense, with a gorgonzola sauce that is incredibly creamy. The meal ends with a dessert-like finish, which is always appreciated by women. In this area, it is rare to find draft cider, so that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the meal.

Nannana is a restaurant that often closes within about a year of opening. The company members send in a test team while saying, "It's probably going to close anyway." The team then reports back to the company to determine if the restaurant is worth visiting or not. The first test team said, "It's actually pretty good." I went there with some skepticism and found it to be a good place. I don't drink alcohol much, but the cider beer was delicious. The menu is always chosen from the handwritten board by the waitress. The restaurant is run by a couple, and if they are free, the husband will even come out of the kitchen to see you off when you leave. It's a great place for dining alone. The food is just delicious! It's a place I don't want to share, but I'm posting this so that it doesn't disappear. The homemade bread that comes first is incredibly delicious, and I end up ordering more for only 200 yen. Please try the olive oil with the bread, it's amazing. It's a place where you can go with just 1000 yen, like a cafe.
