I was taken to a familiar restaurant by my relatives. It's located right near Minami-Shibetsu Station. The restaurant has an open and friendly atmosphere, and the staff are very welcoming. You can order without hesitation. The thick slices of fish may make you forget about the rice because the sushi vinegar is light. I particularly enjoyed the medium fatty tuna. For dessert, I had a hand-rolled sea urchin sushi, and it was delicious. I will definitely visit again.

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a neighbor. When we went, we were the only ones there and were seated in a private room. We decided to splurge a bit for lunch and ordered the premium chirashi sushi (¥2,000) and the pressed eel sushi (¥600). The premium chirashi included fatty tuna, medium fatty tuna, salmon roe, fluke fin, salmon, snow crab, shirako (milt), yellowtail, scallop, raw shrimp, flying fish roe, sakura denbu (seasoned codfish flakes), and egg, offering a wide variety of toppings. It also came with chawanmushi (savory egg custard) and miso soup. The toppings were all delicious, especially the tuna which felt very luxurious! The pressed eel sushi was soft and the slightly sweet sauce was just to my liking. Unfortunately, I was too full to eat more than one piece. With this amount of food and quality of toppings, I would recommend this place for a special treat once in a while.

H28.7.22 Deluxe Sushi 3,240 yen 10 pieces of sushi with tamago, soup, and chawanmushi set Includes 2 pieces of Otoro, Engawa, Snow Crab, Abalone, Shrimp, Ikura, Sea Urchin, Hokki (raw), Tamago Soup and chawanmushi are the same as before! The Otoro is delicious, and while the sushi is a bit pricey, it is worth it in terms of quality!! There is no lunch menu, it seems to be the same as dinner... H27.11.21 Premium Sushi 2,160 yen 10 pieces of sushi with tamago, soup, and chawanmushi set Includes Toro, Maguro, Engawa, Salmon (large, maybe Blackfin Flounder?), Hokki (boiled), Sweet Shrimp, Ikura, Sea Urchin, Snow Crab, Tamago The soup has shrimp head in it but lacks flavor...the chawanmushi is tasty but not evenly warmed, with some parts being hot and others cold...the sushi was delicious. The salmon was a bit watery, but overall the sushi pieces were large and the Maguro was especially tasty!! Probably Bluefin Tuna. I want to go back next time just for the sushi!

Last August, when I traveled to northern Hokkaido, I used this restaurant for dinner. I ordered a sashimi platter and it was amazing! Fatty tuna, lean tuna, sweet shrimp, squid, scallop, flounder fin, saury... such a huge variety! And all so fresh and delicious! I also ordered some tempura, which was also very luxurious! Giant king crab legs galore... I finished off with some sushi made with my favorite toppings, but I had already eaten too much! I ate and drank to my heart's content with the fresh and delicious ingredients in Wakkanai... I was very satisfied. I brought my parents on this trip, and they were also very happy.

We went with my wife during the day on a regular day. The spacious restaurant had about 10 counter seats and around 5 private rooms. We were immediately guided to a private room after entering, and we ordered the Special Sushi for 2,100 yen (fatty tuna, tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, botan shrimp, shirako, botan shrimp, surf clam, whelk, flounder fin) and the Premium Sushi for 3,100 yen (fatty tuna, flounder fin, surf clam, abalone, botan shrimp, salmon roe, sea urchin, surf clam, shirako, egg). You can choose the amount of sushi rice, and we chose the large portion, which was quite filling with 10 pieces. The sushi rice was perfectly fluffy and the hand-pressed sushi was exquisite, impossible to replicate by machines. Personally, I would recommend the Special Sushi for its cost performance based on the quality and variety of toppings.

This is a review from a low-paid salaryman. I asked a friend from my hometown of Wakkanai for a recommendation and ended up at this place. It seems to be a local favorite. It's only accessible by car from the ANA Hotel, so I took a taxi there. Clearly, all the customers looked like locals, chatting amicably with each other. Feeling a bit out of place, I asked for recommendations after mentioning I was here for work, and ended up trying the premium sushi. Delicious! I then indulged in sashimi and more sushi, along with some beer, and finally asked for the bill. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was only 5000 yen per person. Well worth it. Highly recommend this place if you're in Wakkanai, or the famous grilled fish restaurant (I forgot the name, sorry). Oh, and to those who might say, "Hey, you're a low-paid salaryman, why are you staying at the ANA Hotel?" - well, in the winter it's only 6000 yen per night for a twin room for single use! Another recommendation.
