From morning, I wandered around the city on my bicycle. The early morning was cool and comfortable, but by around 10 o'clock, the sun became strong, so I decided to take a break near Kikusui. I found a soba restaurant called "Sobadokoro Kikusui Nanbu" and decided to stop by. It opened at 10 am, right next to the popular sandwich shop "Mogumogu," and there were no customers yet. The atmosphere inside was that of a traditional and historic town soba restaurant, run by a father, mother, and perhaps their son and daughter-in-law. I quickly looked at the menu, which included cold soba options like "Mori @600, Hiyashi Nuki @750, Ebi Tempura Zaru @1,200, Kami Tempura Zaru @1,500," and hot soba options like "Kake @600, Kashiwa @750, Curry @800, Ebi Tempura @1,100, Ebi Tempura Toji @1,200," among others. I ordered the "Mori @600" and it was served in 7 minutes. The tray included soba, a small cup, a sake decanter, and condiments (green onions, wasabi, tenkasu). The soba had a smooth and slippery texture, a long noodle that was a bit difficult to handle, a subtle soba aroma, and a good tsuyu dipping sauce with a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. It was perfect for my taste. Since I am on a diet and trying to avoid carbohydrates, I opted for the "Soba Bento @800" next time, which comes with warm and cold soba, along with toppings like grilled fish, pumpkin, chicken tempura, rice, and pickles, all for this price. By the time I left, there were 3 groups and 7 people who came in after me. It seems like the early opening hours have become well-known among regular customers, which was heartwarming to see. If I have the chance, I would definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting a hospital near Kikusui Station, I searched for a delicious soup curry restaurant in the area, such as Spice Pod or California. It's hot. In Sapporo, it is usually cool by the second week of August, but this year there have been consecutive hot days even after Obon. "I don't want to walk." So I searched on Tabelog and found this place. Let's go check it out! It feels like a local soba restaurant. I decided to go for cold soba since it's hot. I ordered the "Kamiten Zaru" soba. When it arrived, it was served in a unique bowl, probably made in the Showa era, specifically for Kamiten Zaru. I got distracted by the beautiful bowl, but the soba was delicious. The tempura included two shrimp and two small fish. The bowl also had a section for condiments and a space for the soba cup. I enjoyed my meal very much!

Mini chicken tempura rice bowl set (choose cold soba) for 1100 yen. The soba noodles are quite ordinary, as is the dipping sauce. There isn't anything particularly special about them, but they are not disliked by anyone. The mini chicken tempura rice bowl is smaller than expected, truly mini. So, the value for money may not be the best. However, the tempura is crispy, the rice is just the right firmness, and it is delicious. Chopsticks, toothpicks, and shichimi spice are provided on the table. You are served water when you sit down. It would be nice to have tissues available at each table, in addition to the shared ones. The service is good, nothing extraordinary.

I probably wouldn't have stopped by this shop (sorry) if it weren't near the hospital, but I decided to try it out during a waiting time. It's a bit over 1000 yen, but the kashiwa tsukemen is delicious! It has a rich flavor that I really enjoyed. The mini tendon is quite filling even though it's called "mini." The specialty here seems to be a huge shungiku tempura, but I don't like it unfortunately. When I asked if I could change it, they kindly said I could choose any tempura except shrimp. I went with pumpkin. I wanted to get chicken tempura, but it was small so I opted for vegetable tempura, which is unusual for me. The soba itself was not exceptional, but it was satisfying in terms of portion size.

Ordered a soba bento for 750 yen. I chose warm soba. The bento included rice, assorted tempura, and pickles. The tamago toji soba with triangular seaweed was delicious. Both the soup and soba had a comforting taste. The tempura was crispy and freshly fried, especially the chicken tempura was tasty. Great value for the price! I will definitely visit again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal.

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease (specified disease) by the government. There is still no medicine to cure my rare disease. "Blood products" are administered continuously for 5 days, temporarily improving symptoms for a short period of time. However, there must be several weeks between administrations. Also, after receiving "blood products," vaccination with vaccines such as the corona vaccine is not allowed for 1 month. Last year, I was hospitalized 5 times for rare disease treatment. In January this year, I was hospitalized for the first time in 2022 and was discharged safely 31 days ago. Your supportive comments are always a source of energy for me during hospitalization. I am truly grateful. Thank you for your continued support. In the future, I plan to mainly upload past reviews that have not been reviewed yet. New visits will be limited according to my health condition. "Soba Restaurant Kikusui Nanbu" is a soba restaurant that opened in 1978 in the town. The name "Nanbu" uses hiragana "hentai kana." Hiragana "hentai kana" distorts the original kanji of hiragana. For example, "na" is from "奈" and "fu" is from "不." Using "hentai kana" in the name gives a sense of history to the store. I visited for lunch on a weekday with my usual companion. The restaurant is located in the Kikusui area of Higashi-Sapporo, near Kikusui Station on the subway. Please check the exact location of the restaurant on Tabelog. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. The compact interior of the restaurant is like a Showa-era soba restaurant. There were about 5 customers in front and 2 customers behind. I sat at an empty table. When it comes to town soba restaurants, they usually serve set meals. Both of us ordered "Soba Bento 750 yen" with cold soba. After waiting for 11 minutes, our two "Soba Bento" were served. Soba Bento Cold soba Soba b... I've been drawn to the name of this place for my first visit in September 2021. "Nanbu". I wonder what "bu" looks like. But it's cool, right? It's like a typical "soba shop" font. The shop is cramped, with local regulars or perhaps visitors from the nearby hospital. It's surprisingly crowded. The kitchen has what seems to be the owner, an elderly man and woman, and a young woman. They probably also do deliveries, so the shop must be running at full capacity. I'm not a "soba fanatic", so whether it's a popular town soba, standing soba, or hand-made soba, I always start with the simple "mori" style. It helps me understand the pros and cons of each type. "Mori" for 550 yen looks like a traditional town soba. The fact that the dipping sauce is poured from a sake bottle is nice. However, the way the rectangular steamer is placed vertically is a bit odd. I remember being scolded by the lady at the hand-made soba shop where I worked part-time during my student days for arranging it like this. They used to serve soba in a rectangular and round steamer separately. This arrangement makes it difficult to pick up the soba. The soba noodles are probably homemade, but they are unusually long. Not like in a manga, but you have to stand up to pick up the soba because it's so long. I also remember being taught how to serve soba in a steamer at my part-time job. The dipping sauce is medium-bodied, which seems to suit the locals' taste. It's not bad. Probably a typical family-run town soba shop. I think it has blended in well with the Kikusui neighborhood.

There was a new sandwich shop next to Kikusui Station, just a 2-minute walk away, that I was planning to visit, but then a delicious smell caught our attention! My husband, who loves soba noodles, was drawn in here as if by a magnet. It seems to be a family-run business. The old-fashioned soba shop. We tried the curry soba. It arrived in less than 10 minutes. The smell is so good. The broth is rich and flavorful!!! It seems like it would be good for a hangover too. The cold grated soba noodles also have a nice firm texture and are delicious! The cozy atmosphere of a family-run business is also nice. They were also selling takeout outside. It's a tough time, but I hope they do well.

This is my first visit in about 7 years. I ordered the parent and child soba for 750 yen. The price has only gone up by 20 yen since 7 years ago. It's nice that it comes with tempura crumbs. The soba is fresh, and even when served warm, the broth is still rich. The broth has a strong flavor of bonito flakes rather than soy sauce. The chicken is tender. The egg topping is fluffy and just right. There are 2 people in the kitchen and 3 people on the floor. (April 2021)

Laughing... The parent and child bowl here is really juicy and delicious. It's not exactly a parent and child bowl, but if I had to compare it to something, it would be this... It's a satisfying and great value tempura bowl set with a variety of options that make it hard to choose (listed on a whiteboard separate from the menu).... The tempura with spring chrysanthemum on top is really good. This long-standing soba restaurant loved by the locals is popular with everyone. - Chicken tsukemen: $7.50 - Mini tempura bowl set: $10.00 My mentor sent me a picture and message on LINE that caught my interest, so I ended up stopping by. It was crowded with young people. I made the young people have the mandatory mini tempura bowl set (they could choose warm soba) but when it was brought out, the presentation was... oh, so nice. The warm soba came with seaweed and grated daikon radish, plus garnish of green onions and grated daikon. The mini tempura bowl had a crispy shrimp tempura. Of course, it was delicious, but I couldn't help but envy the large spring chrysanthemum tempura... so I stole a bite. The spring chrysanthemum tempura was delicious with its sweet and savory sauce. The chicken tsukemen wasn't soba, but noodles. Topped with fried tempura batter, green onions, soft-boiled egg, and chicken, all in a large bowl, it made me smile unintentionally. It was delicious. The broth, as well as the sweet and savory sauce, paired perfectly with the soba, maybe because of the rich umami flavor in the broth. Truly impressive. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

A popular soba restaurant in the Chikusu area that has been in business for a long time. Some early reviewers have pointed out that the restaurant's sign, "なんぶ," is hard to read... "ふんぬ?" Is this supposed to be like "soba" in that font? Haha. I visited on January 6th, the first day back at work. The interior of the restaurant is a bit cramped, but it has a typical atmosphere of a casual eatery, with a dignified curtain at the counter. It was crowded during lunchtime, with two elderly ladies briskly serving customers, a delivery person coming in and out, and the owner busy cooking in the kitchen... This lively atmosphere was nice. In such casual restaurants, hot soups are particularly appealing for a first visit. This is because, even if the soba itself doesn't have any distinctive features, you can easily taste and experience the unique broth and soup characteristics of that particular restaurant. Looking around the restaurant, it seemed that the most popular item was the "soba bento," but a newspaper article on the wall mentioned that the most popular dish was the "kashiwa tsuke men," so I decided to go with that. Kashiwa tsuke men 750 yen (tax included) The homemade soba noodles were very long and difficult to handle. However, they had a good balance of firmness and elasticity, making them a good example of this type of soba. The temperature was a bit lukewarm, which would be suitable for tsukemen, but I wonder how it would be with Mori soba. The soup was unusual. It was good. To describe it in one word, it was like a "oyakodon-style soup." Kashiwa chicken meat was simmered with a perfectly half-cooked egg, and "tenkasu" (tempura scraps) were also added. It was not your typical oyako soba, so the soup was slightly cloudy, with a slightly sweet and gentle taste as a dipping soup. It was drinkable as it was, but the kelp and bonito-based broth provided a subtle support, and the egg made it mild, while the tenkasu added richness and oiliness, which made a difference. The tender kashiwa chicken meat and the comforting taste when soaked in soba noodles made for a heartwarming experience. The daikon radish grated on top, which seemed unnecessary at first, provided a refreshing change of taste when added at the end, allowing me to enjoy the soup until the last drop. It would also be enjoyable to mix it with sobayu (soba water). This soup had a simple and gentle taste, reminiscent of the warmth of a rural home... I found it delicious in its own way, and I felt that it was deserving of its popularity. I immediately sent a message to sea-shishi, who seems to be craving rural flavors lately, saying "Delicious! I'm going to eat it now." Then I heard that he either immediately dashed 100 meters to eat it or didn't go at all...

Arrived around 5:30 PM on a regular day. There was one group of regular elderly customers ahead of me, and another group arrived after me. The restaurant is located just a 1-minute walk to the right from the MaxValu supermarket directly connected to Kikusui Station Exit 2. The sign is written in a difficult-to-read style called hentaigana. Although I have passed by this place many times over the past 10 years, this was my first visit. The entrance is not very inviting as you can't see inside from the outside. The interior of the restaurant had a traditional soba shop feel with the owner and the previous owner, as mentioned in a newspaper article on the wall. The current owner mainly works in the dining area, while the previous owner is in the kitchen. The whiteboard on the wall listed a set menu of mini tendon or grilled onigiri with soba. I ordered the "Mini Tendon and Soba Set (Curry Soba)" for 1000 yen. The meal arrived shortly after. It came with chopped green onions, tempura bits, and cabbage pickles on the side. The dipping sauce was flavorful with a good dashi base. The curry had a hint of sweetness and was made with curry powder. The soba noodles were decent with a moderate chewiness and flavor. The small portion of kashiwa (chicken meatballs) was satisfying. The garnishes included long-cut green onions. The mini tendon had shrimp tempura and other ingredients like mitsuba, pumpkin, and white fish, all crispy and delicious. The rice was soaked in the sauce and was rich and tasty. The pickles were refreshing with a mild saltiness. I was quite full by the end of the meal. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the tendon more than the soba! (laughs) The soba was also better than expected. I wish they offered the tendon as a standalone dish. The price for just the "Curry Soba" is 730 yen. Considering the shrimp tempura in the tendon, the set menu seemed reasonably priced. I plan to try the recommended "Kashiwa Tsukemen" on my next visit.

I visited this place for lunch based on recommendations from various people. I had been curious about it for a while, so I'm glad I finally made it! This time, I ordered the "Grilled rice ball and soba set with shrimp tempura" and it was delicious! I should have gotten the large size though. The recommended soba was really good. The shrimp tempura was also tasty with a crispy coating. The grilled rice ball was average. I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal!

I tried kashiwa-tsuke soba for the first time. I really like the smoothness and chewiness of the soba here. I often come back for the chilled noodles, and I feel that the crispy texture of the tempura flakes lasts a long time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited a soba restaurant near my company for the first time on January 23, 2018. It's a bit hard to get to because it's a 10-minute walk or there's no parking if you drive. The restaurant caught my eye, but I couldn't go until now (laughs). After arriving, I found out that you can park one car there (laughs). The restaurant seems to be run by a second-generation parent and child team. I decided on the Mini Tendon Set for 1000 yen after looking at the menu. I chose the warm soba, and you can choose from various toppings like chicken, curry, and a couple of others (I can't remember clearly, sorry). I had the chicken soba and Mini Tendon. The soba portion seemed quite generous to me (laughs). Maybe because it's been a while since I had warm soba? The Mini Tendon had four types of tempura: shrimp, squid, pumpkin, and mountain vegetables. It was a surprisingly filling portion for a "mini" size. It felt like a good deal for 1000 yen. Thank you for the meal!

The combination of soba dipping sauce and tempura bits is great! The tempura bits helped enhance the flavor, although the soba itself was a bit lacking. As time passed, the texture became soft and I started feeling like it was just filling me up without much enjoyment. It's the type of dish that you might get tired of easily. I initially thought I ordered kitsune soba (with fried tofu), but it turned out to be tanuki soba (with tempura bits) - a bit of a mix-up. The mini tempura rice bowl was generously topped with crispy tempura, which was delicious and lightly seasoned. The soba broth was very light, almost like hot water. The restaurant had a traditional atmosphere, but the soba seemed more like a side dish to enjoy with the set menu rather than a dish to savor on its own. Overall rating: 3.2 Taste: 3.1 Service: 3.3 Atmosphere: 3.3 Value for money: 3.3 Drink: - Address: 2-1-7 Kikusui 3-jo, Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. This is a place in Kikusui 3-jo 2-chome, Shiroishi-ku, diagonally across from the Hokkaido Medical Association Sapporo Hospital, but as always, please check the exact location on the map on Tabelog. This restaurant also has a history in Kikusui and I have been curious about it for a while, so I visited the restaurant for the first time this time. Upon arriving at the front of the restaurant, there is a sign indicating that there is parking available, but I couldn't find it, so I got out of the car to search and found it in the parking lot on the first floor of the building, so I parked there and entered the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is a small traditional table seating area, so I naturally sat at a 4-person table and looked at the menu. I ordered the top menu item, "Ebi Tempura Toji" from the warm soba menu. The tempura was quickly fried and served in about 7-8 minutes. There were two medium-sized tempura prawns topped with lightly beaten egg, but the soba soup felt a bit lacking. First, I tried the soba soup, which was a light soy sauce-based soup with a light bonito flavor. Next, I tried the soba noodles, which were round machine-cut noodles with a slightly soft texture. Lastly, the ingredients included two medium-sized tempura prawns that were fried fragrantly, and the beaten egg was lightly poured over them, adding flavor when mixed with the soba soup. Chopped green onions were served separately. The restaurant moved to its current building in 1991, but the atmosphere inside is that of a traditional soba restaurant. I hope this restaurant continues to operate for a long time to come.
