On a certain weekday, I stumbled upon a Chinese restaurant in Chuo Ward, Minami 11-jo Nishi 17-chome that used to be run by a tough old man, but it had now transformed into a charcoal-grilled restaurant. There was no parking lot, so I had to use my head. The interior of the restaurant was based on the previous one with a slight renovation, consisting of a counter with 6 seats and 2 tables. In one corner, there was self-service with cold water, as well as tea and coffee, surprising me, oh! They also served quite a variety of alcohol, but the restaurant was non-smoking! The background music was the midday news playing on the TV. From the menu that day, there were mainly charcoal-grilled dishes, each with a limited number available. After contemplating, I ended up choosing the first item on the menu, the "A set meal (750 yen)," which had a limited quantity of "Grilled Atka Mackerel with Miso" available, and placed my order. After a while, it was ready, and the fish was thick! Let's take a bite... Oh, the fish is thick, and the slightly rare finish didn't bother me much because it was marinated in miso, giving the tender flesh a hint of miso flavor and saltiness. The small side dish next to it had high-quality sashimi, marinated mackerel, and fatty salmon, making the sashimi set meal a potential choice for next time. The salad had deep-fried small potatoes and sliced onions topped with sesame dressing, and the lightly salted pickled Chinese cabbage was good. The delicious rice was made with Yumepirika and Nanatsuboshi rice, and I finished with fried tofu and daikon miso soup. Suddenly, the friendly owner seemed to be working hard at the charcoal-grilled restaurant. It was a delightful meal. Thank you.
