[Location: Immediate vicinity of Nishi-Shinjuku Gochome Station] A dumpling shop just steps from the station! "Daihouki"! The counter seats have cushions, making them quite comfortable to sit on (๑・̑◡・̑๑). What I ordered was: • Mapo Tofu (990 yen) • Tuna Avocado Dumplings (2 pieces for 540 yen) • White Rice (250 yen) • Soba Tea. It seems there's a one-drink policy! First, the mapo tofu and rice arrived, and they were delicious! It wasn't too spicy ✌️. The dumplings, filled with avocado and tuna, came with wasabi (*≧∀≦*). The rice goes well with both the mapo tofu and dumplings! The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was nice (๑・̑◡・̑๑). ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー I mainly post my food experiences on Instagram stories in a more casual style compared to Tabelog. I didn't want to become a lunch refugee in this heat, so I usually buy lunch at the convenience store and stay at the office. However, today I overslept and didn't have time to buy anything, so I dashed straight to a restaurant! I ordered the gyoza lunch for ¥1200, which was noted on the menu to take about 15 minutes to prepare. Since I was able to enter the restaurant early, it seemed like it came out in about 10 minutes (though I didn't actually time it). There were five plump gyoza filled with a flavorful filling, so I didn't need any soy sauce. As a person with a sensitive tongue, I cautiously took a bite, but it wasn't scalding hot and there wasn't any dripping filling – it was a pleasant gyoza meal! When I left around 12:28, the place was almost full, but there was only one person in the kitchen making everything. There are also outdoor seating options. Some foreign guests had come in before me, and occasionally a sweet scent from their perfume wafted over. I wish they would use less perfume when visiting Japan—it's a shame to miss out on the delicious food aromas!

I visited on a weekday around 11:50 AM and was immediately shown to a terrace seat. I ordered the B set lunch, which included "Sichuan mapo tofu over rice, a half portion of fried chicken with a garlic sauce, a small side dish, dim sum, and soup." The meal arrived in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the rice for the mapo tofu was a bit dry and crumbly, which was disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant known for its delicious, plump gyoza. In the evening, there is a one-drink order system for those dining in. I came back hoping to enjoy the "Chunky Yam with Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork" that I had previously, but unfortunately, it had changed to "Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork." The gyoza comes in various options, with two pieces per plate. The rice is tasty, and the way it's cooked suits my preference, so I would like to visit again.

I visited again around 8 PM on a weekday after a while. I ordered my usual Ebisu gyoza and seafood gyoza. It's great that I can order gyoza in pairs even as a solo diner, allowing me to enjoy a variety. While waiting for my order, I had the "minced meat and bean sprout namul"—it’s the perfect accompaniment to drinks. Then the gyoza arrived. The skin is thick, but the filling is packed, making for a satisfying bite. I usually eat them plain, but today they were a bit on the lighter side, so I tried them with vinegar and pepper for the first time. It was delicious in this way, enhancing the seafood flavor. Although I was full, I couldn't resist trying the "spicy potato" for the first time. It’s really spicy, but the flavor is addictive. I highly recommend giving it a try!

After exercising again, I decided to stop by once more. Last time, the simple gyoza was the most delicious, so this time I ordered two dishes! The twice-cooked pork was also very tasty, so I went for the twice-cooked pork fried rice this time :) And it was definitely the right choice! I finished off with spicy pickled cabbage and stir-fried pork, stir-fried green peppers with meat, and sesame balls. Everything I ate was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal!

The gyoza looked so delicious that, as a huge gyoza fan, I was immediately drawn to the restaurant. I ordered the signboard menu featuring four types of gyoza (Ebisu gyoza, seafood gyoza, beef gyoza, and tuna avocado gyoza) along with minced meat with bean sprouts, white rice, and black oolong tea. Since I can no longer drink alcohol, I often go for non-alcoholic beer, but I was disappointed that they didn't have any. The gyoza were larger and heartier than I expected. The shrimp in the Ebisu gyoza stood out and was really plump! I ordered the beef gyoza and tuna avocado gyoza because they seemed unique and delicious, and to my surprise, the tuna avocado gyoza with a bit of wasabi was incredibly tasty. Additionally, they were not too greasy, giving a healthy impression, which felt a bit strange. Other menu items also looked appealing, and I found it hard to decide what to eat, but it was regrettable that I couldn't finish it all by myself. This restaurant is definitely one you want to visit with two or more people so you can share and try a variety of dishes. Also, I wish the prices were a little cheaper!

It's just a short walk from the station. They don't accept reservations. I went there right at 6:00. There seem to be many tourists, probably because there's a hotel nearby! The gyoza is really delicious, around 500 yen for two, and it's well-seasoned and tasty! The fried chicken with garlic soy sauce was also delicious!

I visited a Chinese restaurant for lunch while taking a stroll to Shinjuku Central Park. I was drawn in by the large display of dumplings at the front of the restaurant. The lunch menu offered a variety of set meals and noodle dishes, along with a separate order option for dumplings. I chose the B set, which included "Sichuan Mapo Tofu Rice and Yurinchi" (Japanese-style fried chicken with a soy-based sauce), along with a single order of Tuna and Avocado Dumplings. My companion ordered the weekly special noodles and the original Ebisu Dumplings.
The Mapo Tofu had a nice level of spiciness, leaning more towards the flavor of chili rather than Sichuan pepper, and it was packed with chunky ground meat that made it a great accompaniment to the rice. The Yurinchi had a bit less sauce, giving it a more standard fried chicken taste, but it was delicious nonetheless.
The highlight was definitely the dumplings, which were large and served two pieces per order. Both types were generously filled and had a rich flavor that didn't require dipping sauce. The tuna offered a pleasant texture with a light flavor, which became even more refreshing when combined with a bit of wasabi. Although I don’t usually visit chain dumpling restaurants, I was satisfied with the generous portions for lunch at this place.

On Monday, after finishing my workout at 9 PM, I went with a friend to a restaurant. We started with the original Ebisu dumplings and beef dumplings. We also ordered twice-cooked pork, soup dumplings, and daikon cakes. The dumplings were huge and packed with juice! They were piping hot and delicious. The twice-cooked pork had a rich flavor, with vegetables and meat that still had some texture. It was really tasty, and I want to go back! The dumplings were so good that we added seafood dumplings at the end. I think I liked the beef dumplings the most! I hope I can go again after a workout.

We dined without a reservation on a weekday night, just the two of us! We were seated in an area that felt somewhat detached from the main dining area. There was a bit of a draft coming in from outside, but it was bearable for this season. The gyoza can be ordered in sets of two or more, which makes it easy to order! The large gyoza was packed with filling and delicious! The second photo shows the fried mochi gyoza, which has a hint of star anise flavor and was also tasty! However, it was smaller than I expected, so it felt more like a small snack. We also ordered black fried rice and tuna avocado gyoza, along with a draft beer. The fried rice was generously portioned and great value for the price! However, the flavored chicken with scallions seemed a bit overpriced for the small amount served.

I had lunch and enjoyed a set of five-spice fried rice and tantanmen for 1,000 yen. The fried rice was crisp and fragrant, containing minced meat, corn, egg, and carrots. The tantanmen was a mini size, packed with minced meat and rich flavor. The interior of the restaurant has a chic black scheme. Next time, I would like to try the gyoza. #NishiShinjuku #NishiShinjukuLunch #NishiShinjuku5Chome #Tantanmen #FriedRice #FiveSpiceFriedRice

After finishing the networking event, I wanted to grab a late-night bite since I had skipped dinner while working overtime. I received a message from my wife, so I quickly headed to Oohouki, a restaurant near us. It's located right by Nishishinjuku-Gochome Station, and even though I've passed by it hundreds of times, I had never actually entered. It seems like the establishment has changed its concept; it is now known for its gyoza and serves Chinese-style dishes in a casual drinking environment.
Since it was late at night, I decided to keep it light and ordered some xiaolongbao, the restaurant's namesake Ebisu gyoza, and fluffy stir-fried rice with shrimp and eggs. The xiaolongbao was a delicious dish filled with rich, flavorful soup. The fluffy stir-fried rice had a perfect balance between the sweet, smooth egg and the fluffy, separated rice. The highlight, the Ebisu gyoza, was a thick and meaty gyoza that burst with flavor when bitten into. The ginger added a nice accent, making it easy to enjoy even when full. I think I should come back to have a proper dinner here next time. The staff's service was also very pleasant, contributing to a comfortable dining experience.

I went for the first time! The dumplings are really delicious. However, it seems like they were quite busy with just one person working, as the set meal was clearly cold and not tasty. It felt like it was pre-made. I understand the timing with the season, but that's unacceptable for a restaurant. It's disrespectful to paying customers.

I happened to be at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building, so I took a stroll and had lunch. I was aiming for a famous ramen shop in Shinjuku Fifth District, but they were completely sold out by the time I got there before noon! Since I was really in the mood for something hearty, I made an emergency stop at this restaurant. The Ebisu gyoza had a juicy filling with shrimp that was packed to the brim. It definitely gave me a boost for the afternoon ahead. I think having a side like pickled mustard greens would be a great addition, as it would serve as a nice palate cleanser and increase the overall satisfaction. Thank you for the meal!

I asked for a recommended dish with gyoza and was told to try Ebisu Gyoza, so I ordered it. The filling was a regular mixture with shrimp included, and there wasn't much garlic flavor, which I really enjoyed! They come in pairs, but each one is quite large. The mapo tofu was just okay—nothing too extraordinary, but it was tasty. The garlic wasn't overpowering, which was great for me in my sales job. Overall, it was just pleasantly good.

I decided to try a casual lunch at a nearby restaurant that usually serves dinner as an izakaya. They have several types of set meals for lunch, so I went in to check it out. Inside, there are many tables as well as a counter. After sitting down, I ordered the dumpling set meal for 1,000 yen. It seemed like many customers around me were also ordering dumplings. When my dumplings arrived, each one was big and plump. Biting into them revealed a meaty and delicious filling. I found myself a bit torn because other Chinese set meals looked tasty too, but since it was my first time, going with the dumplings was definitely the right choice! Thank you for the great meal!

Before our user visit, my colleague and I had lunch in Nishi-Shinjuku Gochome. I mentioned that garlic would be a bad idea since we had the user visit coming up, to which my colleague replied, "What if they use odorless garlic?" So, I asked the restaurant, and they confirmed they do have it! We decided to go in. They had a gyoza lunch option, but we ordered gyoza separately to share, and I ordered the mapo tofu lunch. My mapo tofu came with fried chicken (yuransen), shumai, macaroni salad, and soup for 1,000 yen (1,220 yen if we shared the gyoza). The fried chicken was a bit tough, but the mapo tofu was spicy, and the gyoza, despite being garlic-free, was delicious. However, I was told that the only payment options were cash or PayPay, but at night they accept credit cards. During our visit, over half of the customers were foreigners, so I wondered if they had Japanese yen. It would be better if they accepted credit cards for lunch too.

I had a craving for dumplings at night, so I went to a restaurant next to my hotel. The staff were friendly, and I chose the pan-fried dumplings and the dried dumplings. The pan-fried dumplings had a perfect level of crispness and were juicy, tasting just like the ones I had in China. The chicken filling was also delicious. I wish there were more because I still felt a little hungry after eating.

On June 12, 2023, I visited C Lunch and ordered the Gyoza C Lunch for 1000 yen, which included 2 pieces of gyoza for 400 yen. It was lunchtime, but since I arrived a bit early, it wasn’t too crowded yet! The tantanmen was really delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. However, the fried rice tasted a bit bland and was somewhat lacking in flavor. The gyoza was tasty on its own, but it was also delicious when dipped in the sauce!
