As I passed by the front of the store, I was captivated by the pitch-black ramen on display. Chocolate Dipping Noodles: 900 yen. As a chocolate lover, I couldn't resist. I purchased a ticket from the machine and handed it to the cute staff. "It will take about 7 minutes," they said. So, 7 minutes later, the pitch-black noodles and dipping sauce arrived. I was told that the noodles contained bamboo charcoal, and the dipping sauce contained bamboo charcoal and chocolate. Surprisingly, the noodles were short and crunchy, with a mild wheat flavor. The dipping sauce was the real shocker. It was based on pork bone, but not overpowering at all. It was more like a chicken bone soy sauce ramen. There were a few pieces of chicken, menma, green onions, and a subtle hint of chocolate flavor in the broth. Overall, it was definitely a unique ramen. In the end, I enjoyed mixing the hot soup with the remaining sauce. This place is still best known for its salt ramen and yakimeshi. I confirmed that. The staff's service was as excellent as always, which is consistent across all their group stores. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Two days later, I found the toilet bowl had turned pitch-black. Bon appétit.

Ramen restaurant in Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street. It was my first time here. I ordered the ramen and fried rice set. The simple signboard is refreshing, not trying to be trendy for social media. The fried rice seems to be popular, with some customers ordering extra servings. The fried rice was delicious, with a nice texture and flavorful pork. The ramen had a clear soy sauce flavor, not as strong as it looks. It paired well with the fried rice! Overall, I was very satisfied!

On holiday 1405, I had a refreshing chilled Chinese noodles and fried rice set for ¥1,050 with no waiting. I walked through the shopping street in Shinsaibashi for the first time in a while, feeling a bit lonely with all the drugstores around, but then I spotted Fran Ken, a place I had bookmarked before, and decided to give it a try. I was actually in the mood for ramen, but I remembered reading a comment about how delicious their chilled Chinese noodles were, so I impulsively went for that. The chilled Chinese noodles looked beautiful with glossy and appetizing noodles. The toppings were simple: duck breast, egg, fish cake, and cucumber, a classic combination. The broth was a simple blend of chicken and a hint of pork bone, giving it a traditional chilled noodle flavor. It was delicious. The fried rice was also simple but nicely stir-fried to a fluffy texture. The chilled Chinese noodles and fried rice set for ¥1,050 was definitely worth it.

I went to have lunch with a friend. When it comes to summer, it's all about chilled Chinese noodles. Both of us ordered chilled Chinese noodles. It was delicious with a strong flavor of sansho pepper. You can add vinegar according to your preference. There were dried fish floating in the vinegar.

Salt ramen for 750 yen. I have tried the soy sauce and fried rice set as well as the miso with soft serve, but I hadn't posted about it. It's quite rare to find a place open at 10pm, so the delicious level is very much appreciated. The quality of the food I've had before and today for this price is really good. The toppings are also satisfying in terms of taste. The only downside is that I might end up eating a large portion of the fried rice set at night. A grateful restaurant.

Soft serve ice cream ramen is a thing at this place called Fran Ken in Honmachi, Osaka! We tried the sweet and spicy miso flavor and it was surprisingly good. The ramen itself is delicious with a flavorful broth. The soft serve ice cream adds a unique touch, although it might not be necessary. The overall experience is worth a try for the novelty. If you found this review helpful, please like and save it. Feel free to recommend any other great restaurants as well.

This time, I embarked on a journey to indulge in various genres of food more than usual. After all, it's Osaka, the city of food. The legendary menu that I had heard about from a certain sweet drink Instagramer was back for a limited time at Fran Ken. I had to go. I didn't have much time, but I had to go. So, I went!! It was a counter right at the entrance on the first floor, so I didn't know about the second floor or other areas, but when I entered, there were no other customers around me. The cute staff kindly showed me to my seat, brought out a place to store my belongings, and because I had walked there in the heat, they even provided me with a stainless steel tumbler of iced water, which made me feel so happy. The wall paintings inside the restaurant were also cute... yes, I felt the customer service was perfect♡ The ramen that was soon served, well, I had to do a double-take. Oh, it's not vanilla, it's a mix? There's chocolate in it too? No, that's not it! It was really soft serve ice cream. I'm fine with spicy food, but apparently, you're supposed to mix it well to make it mellow before eating. It was a strange taste experience for me. Well, this kind of experience isn't bad either. By the time I left, the counter within my sight was full! Menu Name: Sweet and Spicy Miso. Yes, it was indeed a combination of spicy miso and sweet flavors... Thank you for the meal.

Sweet and Spicy Miso for 850 yen with toppings of soft serve ice cream, pork, onions, and bean sprouts. The noodles are slightly wavy medium-thick straight noodles from Kyoto Taeoku. The soup is a chicken and pork-based miso flavor.
Visited on a Friday at 11:00 with clear weather and no wait. There were no other customers in the restaurant. Left with a group of 4 people. The noodles arrived in about 5 minutes.
Visited "Fran Ken," a brand under "Gin no Budou" which also operates popular shops like Torisoba Zagi and Kamitora. The miso flavor was strong with a good balance of sweetness and spiciness. Eating the soft serve ice cream while it melted added a nice touch of sweetness to the dish. The Taeoku noodles were smooth and chewy, pairing well with the soup. The soft serve ice cream was not just for show but added a calculated sweetness to the dish. The pork complemented the miso flavor nicely. It was delicious - thank you for the meal!

I visited for lunch on a regular day! I arrived around 11:30 and was seated smoothly without having to wait. I ordered the chilled Chinese noodles (limited time) set. It was my first time here and I was considering ordering the classic soy sauce ramen, but since it was a hot day, I decided to try the chilled Chinese noodles. It was incredibly delicious! It was my first time eating chilled Chinese noodles at a restaurant, but I will definitely be coming back during the summer season. The fried rice was also delicious! I look forward to visiting again!

After visiting Osaka Port during the day, I decided to watch the Bon Odori festival in Minami-Mido at night. When I arrived in Honmachi in the evening, I was looking for a place to have dinner and stumbled upon a ramen restaurant called Fran Ken in Senba Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street. I decided to give it a try. The entrance seemed narrow, but once inside, it was surprisingly spacious. There were both counter seats and table seats, making it a comfortable place for families to dine. I ordered the Chuka Soba (Chinese-style ramen) and yakimeshi (fried rice) set. Although I was tempted by the chilled Chinese noodles, since it was my first time at this restaurant, I decided to go with the ramen. The Chuka Soba had a familiar soy sauce flavor of the Takaida style, with thick noodles and plenty of char siu (roasted pork), providing a satisfying meal. The yakimeshi was slightly moist but had a rich flavor with generous portions of meat, also offering a satisfying experience. I would recommend ordering the ramen with yakimeshi as a set when dining at this restaurant. The set was reasonably priced at 1,000 yen. Both the ramen and yakimeshi were quite filling, leaving me satisfied. I would like to try the chilled Chinese noodles next time, although it may not be possible this year. If I have the opportunity next year, I would definitely like to give it a try.

I felt like eating delicious fried rice, so I visited this place with high ratings for fried rice. I ordered a set of soy sauce ramen and fried rice (tax included 1000 yen) with a large portion of fried rice (tax included 100 yen). The extra 100 yen for a large portion is very reasonable. Both the ramen and fried rice are incredibly delicious! You just have to try them! The cost performance of 1100 yen for ramen and a large portion of fried rice is definitely great. The service is also very good, the interior is clean, and it is a highly recommended restaurant for sure.

Chuka soba with yakimeshi for 1,000 yen. I was originally planning to go to a different restaurant in Shinsaibashi, but I was drawn in by the sign of this place. The chuka soba was of the Takaida style, not as strong as it looks, but the thickly sliced green onions added a nice touch. The straight medium noodles were smooth and matched well with the soup. The yakimeshi had simple ingredients but was nicely seasoned and fluffy. Thank you for the meal.

I was drawn in by the outdoor sign for cold noodles and decided to enter the shop. However, when it came time to purchase my meal ticket, I found myself craving a salty broth, so I ended up ordering the ramen instead. I was feeling a bit of summer fatigue, so I decided to forgo the fried rice. The ramen had a dark black soup base, typical of the Takaida style, with chopped green onions. The chashu was delicate and well-prepared. The bamboo shoots could have been a bit saltier to complement the ramen. The noodles were medium thickness with a smooth texture, reminiscent of a blend between Sumiyoshi and Menya 7.5Hz, but slightly thinner. Overall, it was a slightly refined Takaida-style ramen and quite delicious.

The ramen here is a typical Takaida style, with a dark soy sauce-based soup that balances acidity and sweetness. The thick noodles and green onions are characteristic of Takaida style. The soup, made only with chicken, pork, and water, has a strong soy sauce flavor with a kick of black pepper, and the chewy medium-thick noodles are delicious.
The fried rice is a must-try, with a well-seasoned, fluffy yet moist texture. The set with noodles is a great value at an additional 250 yen.
The Chara Set is irresistible, especially late at night. The service and cleanliness of the restaurant are excellent. Overall, a great dining experience at this shop.
I love the fried rice here, and I look forward to trying the sweet and savory miso next time. Thank you for the meal.

Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, 3 minutes walk from Honmachi Station. A shop that has been a hot topic on social media! For a limited time, you can try a shocking ramen dish that Kansai ramen lovers must know about... They put cake or soft serve ice cream on top of the ramen... It seems like they now have cold noodles available, but since it was my first visit, I went for something more orthodox this time. What I ordered this time was... Salt Ramen + Fried Rice Set for ¥1000. The salt ramen had large slices of pork chashu placed on top to cover the noodles, along with thickly cut green onions and crunchy bamboo shoots. The soup had a light and gentle flavor, but you could still taste the richness of the broth, and the faint scent of yuzu was nice. The noodles were medium thick and straight, with a good chewy texture. They mixed well with the soup and were delicious. The fried rice in the set was perfectly seasoned and had a nice crispy texture! It was so much to my liking that I would consider ordering it separately from the set next time. When I visit again, I might try a unique dish for a change, haha.

Hot days continue. I visited Fran Ken for the first time in a while. I went in the evening and there were just enough customers inside, so I was able to enter without waiting in line. In the summer, all I can think about is cold noodles, so I was torn between that and the fried rice set. I chose the fried rice set. The thin noodles had a smooth texture and were topped with duck breast, chopped cucumber, fish cake, and thick shredded egg. It was garnished with Sichuan pepper oil and dill. The cold soup, with a dark soy sauce color, had added spiciness from chili oil. Both the dish and the soup were chilled well, and it was delicious. In the end, I realized that in the summer, this cold noodle dish is the best choice. The fried rice was also consistently delicious. It wasn't very spicy, but the seasoning was just right. It was really tasty, and in my opinion, one of the best fried rice dishes. Prices have been rising due to the high cost of living, but this set was offered at a reasonable price of 1,050 yen. This improved my assessment of the cost performance!

Today, I went to Fran Ken, a Chinese ramen shop despite its Western-sounding name! It is located in the middle of Shinsaibashi shopping street, closest to exit 12 of Namba Station. The noodles are medium thickness and the soup is just right in terms of richness, leaning towards a refreshing taste. They serve soy sauce ramen with thin curly noodles, breaking the common image of ramen. Personally, I prefer this style of ramen! The noodles are chewy and delicious. The flavor is soy sauce-based, but not light, it has a rich taste. It would be a perfect dish to finish off a night of drinking. The interior of the shop is decorated with cute pop illustrations of Frankenstein. There is a ticket machine in front of the shop, so you purchase your meal ticket before entering. Personally, this was the most delicious Chinese ramen I've had!

I treated my new junior colleague to delicious ramen in order to build a good relationship with him after he was transferred. It had been a while since I last visited, so we had the signature salt ramen and fried rice for two. This place not only serves incredibly tasty ramen but also amazing fried rice! I was sure he would be impressed and amazed, but after finishing his meal, he simply said, "It's really delicious." He's such an unpredictable guy. Regardless of what anyone says, I believe this is the best ramen shop in Honmachi.

I went on a business trip to Osaka and visited Shinsaibashi for the first time in a while, only to find out that the restaurant I was looking for was closed. It was too hot, so I searched for a place nearby that served cold noodles. I found a restaurant in Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street that seemed like an ordinary ramen shop, so I went in with no high expectations. I ordered a set of cold noodles and mini fried rice for 1050 yen. The fried rice was decent, with plenty of pickled ginger on top. Then came the extremely thin noodles in a rich soy sauce-based cold soup, topped with duck chashu, and served in a bowl that was chilled to perfection. As I took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the coldness and firmness of the noodles and the delicious taste of the soup. The aroma of the thick tamago yolk was also outstanding, and when combined with the soup-soaked thin noodles, it was simply delicious. The option to add vinegar-infused fish broth enhanced the flavor of the soup even more. The thick, rich soy sauce flavor paired perfectly with the fish broth vinegar, creating a delightful taste. Additionally, dipping the fried rice into the soup added another layer of deliciousness. The portion size of the set was generous, and for 1050 yen, it was definitely worth it. I was pleasantly surprised by this unexpected set menu at a restaurant that I didn't have high hopes for. The young and lively staff provided excellent service, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The thick soy sauce soup was a mystery to me, but the coldness and flavor, especially when paired with the fish broth vinegar, were exceptional. This Osaka lunch spot exceeded my expectations. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited "Fran Ken" which I had been curious about for a while. They had a Gobugobu sticker, so I had high expectations. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes. The visual presentation was nice, but the ramen had no flavor at all. I wondered if my taste buds were off because of the shock from the weekend soccer game, but I had tasted food just fine yesterday. I tried the soup again, but it still had no flavor. The fried rice was incredibly delicious, but the main dish was tasteless and a huge disappointment. Thank you for the meal.

In the latest 11th volume of "Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san" released last week, a ramen that I had been curious about for a while appeared. It is a limited-time revival from June to tomorrow, 7/17. The soup has a high heat level, and even after melting the soft serve ice cream, it doesn't cool down, it's spicy and delicious! The fried rice is also delicious! Sweet and spicy miso + fried rice = delicious smile~!
