Namba, Aruio Orio✨ is a hidden gem of a herbal curry restaurant in the back streets of Namba. I had been curious about their vegetable curry for a while, so I made a reservation to visit this time. I ordered: - Vegetable Galore Special Curry (1900 yen) - Okara and Konnyaku Cutlet Curry (1500 yen) Here are my reviews of the dishes: ⚫︎ Vegetable Galore Special Curry This curry is loaded with seasonal Izumi vegetables. The amount of vegetables in this curry is surprising, and the visual presentation is unlike any other curry. It includes pumpkin, bitter gourd, spinach, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, okra, and more. The curry is made with vegetable-only "herbal curry" roux and chicken breast meat "rice miso keema curry". It is not spicy and has a sweet taste from the vegetables. It was delicious. ⚫︎ Okara and Konnyaku Cutlet Curry Instead of the usual cutlet, this curry comes with cutlets made of okara and konnyaku. It has only 1/10 of the calories of a chicken cutlet, so you can enjoy it without worrying about the calories. If you are looking for a curry with fried vegetables that is a bit lighter, I recommend this one. The restaurant is currently open only on weekends and operates by reservation only. However, if there are available seats, you can walk in without a reservation. It is recommended to make a reservation if you want to secure a spot. There is a herbal curry restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Kintetsu Nihonbashi Station. Despite being a popular spot, I was able to enter without waiting when I visited around 1:30 pm on a Saturday, outside of lunch hours. I ordered the popular "Vegetable-packed Curry," which was visually filled with lots of vegetables that were carefully fried and provided a satisfying crunch. It seems like you can get extra curry sauce, so those who want to fully enjoy the curry might want to opt for the larger portion. According to the staff, all the dishes at this restaurant are vegan-friendly.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. I had wanted to go there probably about 4 years ago. Finally, the timing came and it was my first visit. The restaurant was about 80% full and the two staff members were very busy. It took 40 minutes from ordering to the food arriving. I could tell that they were making various types of fried foods and carefully preparing the curry, but 40 minutes was too long. The natural deliciousness of the vegetables came through, but it was disappointing that some of them were too salty and a bit soggy due to being fried too much.

Located in a narrow alley off Namba's Nansan Street. Visited on a holiday afternoon. Ordered the Vegetable Goro Goro Curry for 1500 yen: They fry the vegetables after you order. Served on a large oval plate with a variety of fried and raw vegetables, over 20 types. The curry consists of a blend of medicinal curry and rice miso keema curry. The rice has a slight purple hue and is mixed with various grains. It was very delicious. The curry looked like a botanical garden, visually stunning. They also offer a Vegetable Goro Goro Special Curry for 1800 yen and an extra special Goro Goro Curry for 2200 yen, with even more vegetables making it resemble a jungle.

Vegetable-filled curry with a lot of ingredients! It seems like a curry that would appeal to women. They use two types of roux: one is medicinal curry and the other is rice miso keema curry. They make each order carefully and with love. Gluten-free, no animal products, and no additives. It was a curry that made my body happy.

They were welcoming to a group of 9 people. There were 3 menu options with vegetables, and I chose the one with the least amount of vegetables, but it still had a substantial amount. If you want to eat vegetables but don't need a lot, sharing the largest option between two people is also a good idea.

When searching for lunch in Namba, I found this restaurant that caught my attention. I was craving curry, so it seemed like the perfect place to visit. Normally, the restaurant opens at 11:00 am, but currently, it opens at 11:30 am due to shortened hours. The interior has a counter and table seats, and it is more spacious than it appears from the entrance. You choose your seat first, then order at the register and pay in advance. They offer three types of vegetable curry, and even the regular 1500 yen vegetable curry is satisfying for women. The curry is a mix of medicinal herbs and keema, creating a sweet medicinal herb curry. It takes a bit of time to make the curry since they prepare it individually, so if you're in a hurry, be aware. The vegetables are fried nicely and juicy, making the curry enjoyable with plenty of delicious vegetables. I left feeling satisfied after eating lots of tasty vegetables.

There seems to be a special option above this 1600 yen one, but the volume of this one is already impressive! Perhaps the ultimate vegetable spice curry... The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, clean, and beautiful. Definitely worth a visit for lunch. During lunchtime, it was quite busy.

Located north of Nankai Electric Railway Namba Station South Exit, heading east on Nansan Street and then north on a narrow alley next to a cosplay shop, you will find this curry shop that opened in 2011. The shop has a somewhat Japanese-style exterior. The bright interior is divided into a kitchen & counter seats and table seats. The shop originally started to support Osaka farmers, and they take pride in their curry made with plenty of Osaka-grown vegetables. The seasonal "Mizunasu Curry" features European-style curry surrounding a bed of 18-grain rice, topped with lightly fried water eggplants. The water eggplants, fried lightly in rice oil, are fresh and refreshing in taste as the name suggests. A place where you can enjoy Osaka's local vegetables in a delicious way.

Upon entering the clean entrance with white walls, I first sanitized my hands with alcohol. After securing a seat, I placed my order and paid at the self-service counter next to the kitchen. I tried the vegetable-packed curry that I had been wanting to eat for a while. It took about 20 minutes for the curry to be served, but when it arrived, it was filled with a variety of vegetables such as okra, eggplant, spinach, cucumber, daikon, carrot, onion, bell pepper, potato, pumpkin, and more. The vegetables were delicious and fresh, with shredded cabbage, white corn, cherry tomatoes, red onion slices, and chopped green onions adding extra flavor. It's hot, so what I want to eat is curry. I feel like having curry with plenty of summer vegetables. So I headed to Arlio Olio in the gourmet alley of Uranamba. It's been a long time since I last visited. The restaurant has undergone a significant transformation in my absence. It has become bigger and the interior is looking nice. They now operate only for lunch. It's a self-order system where you order at the register. I decided to go for the very special chunky curry with extra servings. It cost 2200 yen plus 150 yen. The female owner asked if it was okay that it would take a bit of time, and I nodded. The very special chunky curry with extra servings arrived. It had a pretty visual with lots of vegetables. Okra, pumpkin, onion, leek, cherry tomatoes, nuts, chili peppers, zucchini, lettuce, fried potatoes, fried vegetables in sesame oil, and a garnish of nuts and dried fruits. It looked healthy. I enjoyed dipping the fried eggplant, zucchini, and onion slices in the curry with plenty of vegetables. The curry was a mix of herbal curry and rice miso keema curry, making it healthy. The vegetable curry specialty store at Takashimaya has disappeared, but this place has evolved and expanded. While macrobiotic restaurants can be challenging, this place seems to have overwhelming support from customers. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Ario Olio! Super special vegetable curry! I didn't come here for the curry, I came for the vegetables!!! (referencing Kujira) So, I suddenly felt like eating it and checked on Facebook, found an available spot, and went for it! Wow! There are so many kinds of vegetables in it (laughs). You can't even see the curry (laughs). It's the season for summer vegetables, so there are eggplants, tomatoes, zucchinis, and they are delicious! The raw pumpkin and eggplant with salt and pepper is a refreshing combination! The curry has a unique taste with medicinal herbs and rice miso curry, it might be good for health enthusiasts! It feels like a curry dip with vegetables (laughs). It feels like my gut flora is in balance! Probably (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at Ramenya Juroku, a place known for its long lines, at 11:50 AM only to find no queue and the shutters down. It seemed like they were closed, perhaps for an event in Wakayama. Since I haven't been anywhere recently, I searched on Tabelog and found a highly rated curry restaurant nearby with no line. I decided to try it. There were only 5 customers inside. I ordered the vegetable curry, which was recommended by the staff. It was a bit pricey at 1500 yen. The operation seemed to be managed by a young woman, who I assumed was either the owner or the manager, along with her mother. The curry arrived, but it was more like a plate of fried vegetables with rice, as I couldn't see much curry. It was not very spicy and had a cafe-like quality to it, lacking a strong curry flavor. I was attracted by the Instagrammable vegetable curry and decided to try it. The vegetable curry had plenty of grilled vegetables and they were delicious! However, it was not something I would go back for. The cost performance was not great and it took a long time. The curry with two flavors, white miso curry and medicinal herb curry, tasted just like regular curry. I was puzzled by why they were highly rated. The restaurant did not open on time, and even though I was the 5th person in line, it took over 50 minutes for the curry to arrive after ordering. Despite this, you can have a leisurely conversation and it seems popular with moms who want to relax. There were no wet towels and water was self-service. Even though I was the 5th person in line, I was asked to provide exact change because they were short on change. Overall, I felt that the restaurant lacked in service.

Before the live performance at Edion Arena, I wanted to have a good meal with plenty of vegetables, so I decided to eat here. It seemed like the food took more than 30 minutes to arrive after ordering, as it is prepared by a single woman. I didn't mind the wait too much as I was chatting with my friend, but when I checked the time, it had been about 2 hours since we entered the restaurant until we finished eating and left. I ordered the Vegetable-packed Special Curry, while my friend ordered the Vegetable-packed Curry. We paid before receiving our food. The curry was buried under a mountain of vegetables, all deep-fried. By the time I reached the curry, I was already full from the vegetables. But since they were all vegetables, I didn't feel guilty. The curry had a sweet spice to it and was delicious.

They seem to use seasonal vegetables, and since it was winter, they mainly used root vegetables which was tough for me, and the curry flavor wasn't to my liking. The staff mentioned that summer vegetables make the dish more colorful! If you're interested, it's recommended to go in the summer.
