The coffee jelly using Saito Coffee beans is soft and jiggly, melting in your mouth with a mild bitterness. It's not too strong, more of a refreshing bitterness. While bitterness is often associated with adult tastes, as an older guy who enjoys strong bitterness, I'd say this is more of a younger person's taste. The coffee bavarois sandwiched between the coffee jelly layers is a bit bland on its own, but when eaten with the slightly firm coffee jelly at the bottom, the bitterness is balanced out. I used a drink coupon I received when I bought a whole cake before, and my daughter and I enjoyed it together. When we tried to order coffee, the staff started talking about orange juice, which was a bit unexpected. I didn't realize that the coupon could be used for two people. We ordered a shortcake and a chocolate cake, but my daughter ended up eating most of it. It was a cute, delicious, and happy time together.

After a long time, I bought a cake at "Kinotoya Konoe Store." I thought I had already posted a review on Tabelog, but it turns out I hadn't (lol). This means that I haven't been here since at least June 2012. The inside of the store was crowded from the register to the cake showcase to the back door, as popular as ever. When I lined up, I was the third person, but before I knew it, there were a lot of people behind me. My wife had mentioned a Shine Muscat cake, but they didn't have it, probably because it's out of season. So, I went with the safe choice of strawberry shortcake and a new pumpkin cake. I showed my wife a picture of the showcase and she agreed (lol). It's tea time at home! I lined up the two cakes and we dug in (lol). The strawberry shortcake had a lightly sweet cream with slightly tart strawberries, a perfect match! The pumpkin cake didn't taste too much like pumpkin, but it was delicious, with a generous amount of cream making it moist. My wife and I ended up fighting over it (lol). It was a delicious meal, as expected from "Kinotoya" cakes!

Location is Sapporo, along Kotoni-Shitainu Street with a spacious parking lot (seems to fit 23 cars). There is a café attached with 4 table seats. On this day, Sunday afternoon, all 4 tables were taken so I bought cakes to go. I bought freshly baked cheese tart, strawberry and chocolate tart, double pudding parfait, and macaron (chocolate flavor). The freshly baked cheese tart was put in the fridge when I got home (it says to refrigerate on the seal) and after about 6 hours, I ate it. The tart part was crispy like a cookie. On the other hand, the strawberry and chocolate tart had a moist texture. It looks crispy too, but the mousse in the middle was moist. The double pudding parfait was filled with sponge cake, canned mandarin oranges, strawberries, pudding, and whipped cream. It was packed with cream and pudding. Personally, I don't need the fruits inside, but it was delicious so I might buy it again. When I only ordered one macaron, the reaction was like "One piece!?" The packaging was unnecessarily solid and elegantly done. The café was crowded, but the takeout area was empty so it was relaxing. It would be nice if they could speed up a bit.

Kinotoya, this time I ordered some Western-style sweets such as berry mousse. The sweet and sour flavor spread in my mouth, it was rich in taste. The size seemed a bit small at first glance, but personally, I found it to be sufficient with this level of flavor. The pudding also had a strong egg flavor, it was of high quality and delicious. Located along Shotoin-dori in the Hachiken area, "Kinotoya" has plenty of parking spaces at the back and side of the building, making it convenient for customers. The cafe space is bright and clean, with a variety of pastries and cakes available at reasonable prices. It's always bustling with customers. This time, I purchased the "Freshly Baked Cheese Tart (200 yen)" and the "Sapporo Nogakkou 12-piece set (650 yen)". The cheese tart was served hot and crispy on the outside, with a melty cheese filling that cheese lovers will enjoy. The Sapporo Nogakkou cookies had a crunchy texture with a rich milk and butter flavor, simple yet delicious. Every pastry I've tried here has been of high quality and delicious, making it a great choice for gifts or personal treats.

On days when good things happen, it's time for cake! That's the standard in Japan! When it comes to cake, it has to be "Kinotoya"! So, I arrived and saw the Strawberry Shortcake, but that seemed too typical, and I wanted to eat strawberries. At first glance, the Fromage Berry Omelette Cake looked luxurious and drew me in, so I chose that instead. It's not a typical cake! There are various definitions of cake, but everything sold at a cake shop is considered a cake. I was most drawn to this one. The thick omelette layer was fluffy and had just the right amount of sweetness, plus the double cream with custard was smooth and made it even more delicious. The tartness of the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries added a refreshing touch. I don't like overly sweet cakes, but this one had the perfect balance of sweetness. The overall balance was what made it delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by on my way home from work and ordered some cakes to go. The outside of the shop had a sophisticated glass design that caught my eye. Inside, there was a showcase with cakes, apple pies, cheese tarts, and a section for baked goods. To the left was a seating area for dining in, but I ordered to go this time. I got a Cafe Millefeuille, a Chocolat Noir, and a Croquant Chou. The Croquant Chou had a soft and creamy texture at first, with a crispy cookie crust around it, and the sweetness of the custard cream inside was delicious. The Cafe Millefeuille had a slightly bitter taste with a crispy pastry, and it was a sophisticated flavor that was enjoyable. The Chocolat Noir was a rich chocolate cake with a layer of chocolate on top, a luxurious treat! The dining area looked nice and relaxing, so I think it would be a good place to spend some time next time I order cakes here.

Today, a business partner who came to the office to greet me for the new year brought a gift of sweets. It was a selection of treats from Kinotoya. I absolutely love their leaf pie. Once I start eating it, I can't stop and end up eating way too much. Today, I got my hands on the leaf pie as usual, and also received some milk cookies which I have been addicted to lately. These cookies taste even better when paired with coffee.

Visited around 12:00 pm on a Saturday in January 2020 to try out the new product, the Pudding Sandwich, which had just been released. The location is a 10-minute walk from JR Hakken Station, and there is a spacious parking lot with 23 spaces available. On this day, they were only offering takeout service, and the showcase displayed a variety of delicious cakes, including the Pudding Sandwich that I purchased. The Pudding Sandwich cost 1,296 yen (tax included) and consisted of a sponge cake with layers of cream and pudding sandwiched in between. The simple appearance belied the exquisite balance of flavors between the special pudding, cream, and sponge cake. The sponge cake was moist and fluffy, the cream had a light texture, and the pudding was rich, creating a delightful combination with a hint of liquor flavor. It is a cake suitable for adults with a moderate level of sweetness.

I stopped by here while driving to Otaru. This shop, Kinotoya, is the one I often use, but for some reason I hadn't reviewed it. The parking lot is as busy as ever. Luckily, I managed to find a spot! I think everything they serve is delicious, but on this day, I felt that the cream was a bit dry. It wasn't smooth like usual. It was a new sensation for me. I wonder why.

I went to Kinotoya to buy a birthday cake. Right now, they have a lot of strawberry cakes for the Strawberry Festival season! I bought a limited edition strawberry cake, but it was small so I also got a strawberry roll cake! Even though I'm not a fan of cakes, I really like Kinotoya because their cakes are not too sweet and delicious!

When it comes to cake shops in Hokkaido, Kinotoya is the place to go! Ever since I was a child, my grandparents and mother would buy cakes from there for us. Even now, whenever we gather with someone, we always say let's get cakes from Kinotoya! And no matter when you go, it's always crowded! They have a wide variety of cakes, so I always have a hard time choosing, but I love their chocolate cake the most! Their cakes are sweet, but for those who love sweets, it's irresistible! Pair it with their mildly sweet coffee or tea, and it's a perfect combination! They also have plenty of souvenirs, so whenever I go somewhere, I always end up buying Kinotoya souvenirs!

Recently, this place has become nationally famous so it's always crowded. I went to buy some sweets for gifts, but I also treated myself to a cake and coffee. The cake, which used to be called an Omelette, was delicious. It had a fluffy sponge and creamy filling that melted in my mouth, with just the right amount of sweetness. The coffee from Saito Coffee had a light bitterness that paired well with the cake. The service was always polite and pleasant.

It's been a while since I visited Kinotoya in Konoe, and this time it was to celebrate my daughter's half birthday with a cake. We had a strawberry pudding roll cake, which was a half size version since it was a half birthday. The roll cake had layers of pudding and strawberries, with a rich custard pudding that was delicious. My son doesn't like whipped cream, so he had the strawberry and pudding parts while I shared the roll cake with my partner. I also received a Sanmark phrase cake from my partner for my birthday, which was filled with plenty of strawberries and had a delicious combination of vanilla and chocolate cream with a caramelized flavor. Kinotoya never disappoints with their cakes, everything is delicious. They truly are one of the best cake shops in Sapporo!

Located in Hachiken, but it's the Kotoni branch, haha. There is a parking lot behind the store as well. It's always crowded. Truly feels like a popular spot. They also have one of Kinotoya's popular items, the Cheese Tart. The Kotoni branch offers a limited item called "Pudding Sandwich" (¥1296). It looks so delicious...! There are other Kotoni branch exclusive items, so it's worth checking out. They have an eat-in space, so you can enjoy it with a cup of coffee! When you take it to go, they provide a cute ice pack ☺️ (*Ice packs are only provided if you plan to carry it for more than 30 minutes)

In May 2019, I visited Kinotoya Kotonishi store in Sapporo. Kinotoya is a pastry shop founded in 1983 in Higashi-ku, Sapporo, known for its cake delivery service. The shop has a total of 8 stores in Sapporo, including a specialty store for freshly baked cheese tarts called KINOTOYA BAKE Paul Town store, as well as 2 stores at New Chitose Airport. They offer a stable lineup of baked goods and cakes that are beloved by locals. The second store in Kotonishi is bright and spacious, with a clean and beautiful interior. I tried two freshly baked cakes available in the cafe: the "Airy Cheese," a cheese souffle made with cream cheese from Tokachi, Hokkaido, topped with shaved Grana Padano cheese; and the "Baked Custard Apple Pie," a pie with a generous amount of custard cream and apples. I enjoyed them with a cup of their delicious original blend coffee from Saito Coffee. The coffee cups and saucers were from Oka Toki, adding to the pleasant experience. The coffee and tea were refillable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a nice meal.

I arrived at the restaurant just before it opened and was wandering around trying to decide where to park my car when a staff member chased after me and said the shop was open so please come in. The service was excellent. It seems like the company has good training in place. Also, all the staff members were beautiful, friendly, and attentive. It created a great atmosphere. I bought an apple custard pie that was freshly baked for my sister-in-law's birthday. The store had a nice eat-in space as well. I received a discount coupon, so I decided to get a coffee set. I'm not a fan of sweet things, so I might give the pie to kimumiyu. However, I really wanted to drink coffee. The freshly baked pie was crispy and crunchy, with big chunks of apple inside. Even though I usually can't handle cream, I actually enjoyed the cakes from this place. I managed to eat two bites of the strawberry cake, which is quite an achievement for me. It was light, delicate, and elegant in flavor. The staff members were talented, kind, and attentive, and I felt soothed by the cakes. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

When we entered the shop, there was a long line of customers waiting to buy sweets. The line was unbelievably long. Ignoring the line, we decided to have a cake set at the café inside. I chose a recommended menu item, but I can't remember the name of the cake, sorry! The café was being managed by one staff member, who seemed very busy and I couldn't help but think if I should offer to help. My companion ordered a refill of coffee (coffee refills were free), but it took quite a while for it to arrive as the staff seemed very rushed. With so many customers, it was clear that this place was very popular and must be delicious. Indeed, when I took a bite of the pudding cake, a gentle sweetness spread through my mouth, making me want to savor it slowly. It was an elegant and lovely dessert. I would love to come back again if I have the chance. Next time, I would like to try the cake buffet. Thank you for the meal!

This is my second time at Kinotoya this month. Normally I would eat 3 or 4 cakes in one go, but since I'm on a diet, I'm limiting myself to one cake per day. It's not enough... my willpower is weak (；ω；). I had the fruit cake, which was delicious with a modest amount of sponge and plenty of cream. It felt like I was just eating the cream. I was tempted to have a second piece, but I decided to save it for the next morning. Thank you for the meal!
