This is a restaurant that I have visited once before. In the Fukushima area where delicious restaurants abound, it is rare to revisit the same place, but I decided to come back because my previous experience was quite good. The first time I visited, it was quite crowded, perhaps due to pre-COVID times, but this time it was about 70% full and we were seated right away. We ordered the shirako (cod milt), roast beef yukke (Korean-style beef tartare), yagen nanban (fried chicken with tartar sauce), and curry as our final dish. The shirako was fresh and rich, comparable to high-end yakitori restaurants, the roast beef was perfectly rare and tender with good quality meat, the yagen nanban was tender with a crispy coating and delicious homemade tartar sauce, all the dishes were very delicious regardless of whether it is a standing bar or not. The curry was chicken curry, but it had a mild spice level and was comparable to high-end Western restaurants. It could become popular as a lunch curry like "Wasurena Kusa". The selection of sake was good and the prices were reasonable starting from 300 yen. This restaurant also has a branch in Grand Front Osaka and seems to have expanded with various other locations, but the quality of the food remains consistently high. This is my favorite standing bar in Kansai.

The usual pre-drinks gathering! Whenever I meet up with my girlfriend, we always end up drinking too much...lol. I sent a few options but my friend chose this restaurant. I wanted to go here for a long time so I'm glad! When I arrived at the station and hurried to the restaurant... it was almost full already! It's definitely popular d(*¯︶¯*) First, cheers with a glass of beer for me. I was so thirsty and had been holding back on drinking water, so it tasted amazing ❤︎ To avoid making too much noise at the main restaurant later, I made my choices slowly. - Unlimited cucumber with salted kelp: The saltiness is just right and the kelp flavor seeps in slowly. It's a classic but still delicious. - Fried sandfish with fragrant seasoning: This is a must-try. Fried onion? Cumin? Garlic?? I'm not sure what's in the magic powder but it tastes amazing when you eat it with it ❤︎ - Potato salad: It had smoked herring inside. Yes, this is delicious too! And it's cheap⑅◡̈* I finished my beer quickly, so I moved on to the second drink. - Cold ginger sour: I don't usually like sweet alcohol, but I tried it. It has a spicy ginger taste and a slightly sweet, nostalgic flavor. More customers kept coming in and the tables at the back were also filling up - it's so popular! With such cheap and delicious food, no wonder it's trending! I didn't write a review but it's been a while since I came here. It was delicious as always (▰˘◡˘▰) I want to come back again! At 8 o'clock on a Sunday. After the concert ended, I stopped by here near Fukushima Station. There is a branch in LUCUA's bar basement, but this seems to be the main store. There is a counter surrounding the kitchen, and young male and female staff cook while being lively. When new customers arrive, they are prompted to "Can you squeeze in a bit?" and it's nice to have a little more space. The variety of alcohol is abundant and reasonably priced. The assortment of 4 dishes limited to one person was very good. I didn't take a picture of the menu, but looking at the posted photos, it seems quite different from the one on the day, so it feels like there is frequent turnover, including the list of drinks. There seems to be a related store in Kyoto, so I'll try to go there next time.

This must be the famous restaurant everyone's talking about. I've always wanted to come here! It's not exactly my kind of atmosphere, but you can tell right away that it's always busy and popular. The dishes all seem to have a lot of thought put into them. I ordered the Akaboshi for 650 yen and the Jako Cheese for 300 yen.

I always go to a standing bar that is open from 3 pm. I go there for day drinking and always order a few dishes before moving on to the next place. The photos of the dishes I ordered this time were taken over two days. My must-order dishes are the potato salad and the white liver sashimi. The potato salad is a great value at 200 yen, with cheese and bacon for a satisfying meal. The white liver sashimi is always a safe bet and incredibly delicious. For drinks, I always get the corn tea highball, which is so delicious I could drink it forever. Depending on the day, we also share a bottle of sake, which is irresistible. I'm thinking of going drinking in Fukushima soon, so I'll be visiting again shortly. Thank you as always! ♡

It was not crowded around 3 pm on a weekday. ● Assorted 4 types of snacks for one person only / 750 ● Raw tsukune / 450 ● Duck tsukune / 650 ● Roast beef yukke / 650 Among the affiliated restaurants, this is my favorite place. I have an image of a wide variety of meat dishes. I love the rotating Pacific saury that starts in autumn. Looking forward to it soon (*^^*)

This shop is great. They serve Yona Yona beer, and even though it's a standing bar, they have a wide variety of fresh fish and chicken sashimi on the menu. It's wonderful that they don't just have the usual izakaya menu. I usually avoid it because it's always crowded, but I happened to find a gap and decided to go in. Right after, a loud group came in, and it was noisy as expected, haha.

I visited on a Saturday night. The restaurant was crowded, but we managed to get in just in time. I think the dish in the photo was gratin... The dishes were all small portions, and it was fun to be able to order many different kinds! The restroom is located across from the entrance, so you have to walk behind other customers. Delicious! But it's hot! I saw it often on Instagram, so I decided to stop by! There were a lot of regular customers, it seemed. A friend had been there before and said the air conditioning was broken and it was too hot, so they left right away. I was a little worried, but it was indeed hot. This place is perfect for a casual drink. It's cheap and delicious! The small dishes are tasty and just the right size. Today, I visited as the second stop of the night. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily we were able to get a table just as some customers were leaving. So happy! We had the chef's choice platter for 650 yen, which included chili con carne, lemon pepper chapche, and pumpkin mince mayo. All of them were delicious and comforting. I especially loved the lemon pepper chapche. We also had the grilled chicken thigh for 550 yen and the squid with leek sauce for 550 yen. The menu is color-coded with yellow for 350 yen, white for 450 yen, red for 550 yen, and green for 650 yen. I would love to visit the first place next time. It's a great place for a quick drink too. One of the most popular standing bars managed by "Kurama Keikaku Co., Ltd." is highly rated. Although I have been to "Tonari no Jack to Matilda" in LUCUA Osaka, I haven't been to this Fukushima restaurant yet. They offer a wide variety of dishes from obanzai to seafood, meat, fried food, and charcoal-grilled items. They also have a rich selection of Japanese sake at reasonable prices, so it's always packed from the 3:00 PM opening time. I had the "Chiran chicken seared" and potato salad served by the friendly staff while killing time. I'm happy that I can enjoy "Chiran chicken seared" at a standing bar.

In May 2023, I had a meeting in Nakanoshima and took a short business trip to Osaka. I had some free time in my schedule, so I decided to extend my visit to Fukushima. It was my first time in the Fukushima area, and I was impressed by the charming shops under the elevated train tracks and in the narrow alleys. I found a place called "Jack and Matilda" that had caught my eye before. It's part of a growing group of trendy restaurants with a great sense of style. The exterior and the door handle designed like a Japanese sword were very appealing. I ordered a highball and a plate of four appetizers for myself. The appetizer plate had braised squid with chili oil, Chinese-style stir-fried komatsuna greens, tuna and pasta, and sesame-marinated sashimi. The presentation was excellent, and the quality far exceeded what you would expect for the price of 750 yen. The braised squid and sashimi (possibly yellowtail with sesame marinade) were incredibly delicious! I wanted to try more dishes, but I ran out of time. It's just one stop away from Osaka Station, so I'll definitely be revisiting this place. Thank you for the meal!

This standing bar in Fukushima is quite popular. There is also a back alley avant-garde branch of the same chain, which is also recommended. I visited the restaurant around 15:10, 10 minutes after it opened, and there were already about 3 groups of customers. About 30 minutes later, it was fully packed. This restaurant, also located in Lucua, offers delicious dishes and drinks at low prices. Sake is priced around 500 yen for 90ml, with rare brands like Koeikiku and Zansouhourai available. I tried new sake like Kankuichi and Zansouhourai this time. The menu has many dishes that pair well with sake, and there are many delicious options. The nori rolls and pickled vegetables were particularly tasty. This is a recommended spot for day drinking in Fukushima.

I enjoyed the early opening standing bar with an O-shaped counter. The counter surrounds the kitchen in a square shape, but there are also standing spaces along the walls. I had a Sapporo beer and enjoyed small, rich snacks while standing alone. It's a place that is easy to drop by for a drink. Thank you for the meal.
