We descend a gently sloping road towards the canal, passing by Kamaei and being surprised by the large branch of Obihiro's confectionery shop "Yagisuki". We pass by a kelp shop and continue walking... Yes, we are not hungry at all (lol). While hydrating ourselves regularly, we walked tirelessly. My friend is quite energetic. On the other hand, I feel exhausted after the pandemic, and I was really tired (lol). Just before I was about to give up, we arrived in front of the hotel where we left our luggage. But before that... I need a break (lol). The Sansukuea Building where the hotel is located has a branch of LeTAO. It is conveniently located right in front of the station, making it a great place to kill time or meet up. Although simple, there is an eat-in corner where you can enjoy drinks, soft serve ice cream, and cakes on the spot. After reading reviews of various branches, it seems that LeTAO's branch here is less crowded. There were a few empty seats available! Yay!! I can't walk another step (lol). I will have the Cheese Flavored Soft Serve "Creme Glace Fromage" for 400 yen and Ice Tea for 300 yen! The salty taste I replenished at TAKINAMI's lunch is almost gone, and the salty taste of the cheese soft serve is so satisfying! It's cheese! This is cheese! It was really delicious. The smoothness is of course there, and as a cheese lover, the rich cheese flavor takes over your mouth! The sweetness is restrained, so it doesn't become too cloying later on. It was the perfect sweet treat for the hot summer. I loved the Camembert flavor gelato from Tokachi Nono Fromage, but as expected, LeTAO's cheesecake was amazing. For me, it ranks No.1 in cheese soft serve! There are also milk-based flavors, so it's recommended for those who are not addicted to cheese. The Ice Tea was ice-cold, fragrant, and delicious. I realized I hadn't taken a photo after drinking about half of it. After resting for a while, I felt revived (lol). Next time I come, I would like to choose a cake from the showcase. It's not a cafe, so they seem to serve it on paper plates, which may not be a problem for those who don't prioritize Instagrammable photos. The Langue de Chat "Otaru Iro-uchi Street Fromage" that I bought as a standard souvenir had a nice salty cheese flavor.

The shop is located on the 1st floor of the Sanbill Square in front of Otaru Station, and the eat-in corner was empty, so I quickly went in! (lol) This time, I ordered the following: 'Double Fromage Cheese Cake ¥432' and 'Hokkaido Melon Double ¥453'. They are served on paper plates, but the content is the same, right? (lol) The two layers of baked cheesecake and rare cheesecake melt in your mouth, and they are incredibly delicious!! The melon type is also incredibly delicious!! During the visit in June 2023, I had a Double Fromage cake and two iced coffees at a cost of 1,464 yen. After enjoying sushi at Waraku, we leisurely made our way to the station. The walk from the canal towards the station was a gentle but long uphill slope. My friend wanted to buy souvenirs here. Oh, I remember buying something here as a White Day gift before, at Ueno Station. In the end, we didn't buy any souvenirs, but decided to have some cake instead. There was an eat-in area at the back where cakes were also sold. My friend ordered the popular Double Fromage cake and iced coffee. The fluffy mascarpone mousse was delicious! It had been a while since I had cake. The softness of the sponge cake paired perfectly with the slight bitterness of the coffee. I couldn't resist wanting another one! When I think of dairy products like milk and cheese, I always think of Hokkaido. No wonder souvenirs sell well here. And of course, I couldn't resist trying some Western-style sweets. There are also options like meat, fish, ramen, and soup curry... No matter how much money I have, it's never enough. Let's take our time and enjoy the rest of our day.

On the second day of the trip to Hokkaido, in the sparsely populated morning streets of Otaru, we were lured by the Langue de Chat samples at a storefront. Everyone ended up ordering the beloved Jersey Milk Soft Serve ice cream. It was indeed rich and creamy, with a strong milk flavor that was incredibly delicious. The cone also had a tasty maple flavor. It's true that when it comes to Hokkaido, milk is the way to go.

I had some time before heading back to Sapporo for work, so I stopped by LeTAO in Otaru for some soft serve ice cream. I usually go for a cup, but this time I chose a cone. The maple-flavored cone was delicious! I tried the Jersey Milk and Sankt Fromage mixed soft serve, which had a strong milk flavor like cheesecake but was refreshing. LeTAO's soft serve is my favorite! I didn't know they also serve cakes in the store, so I'll have to try that next time.

It is located right near the Otaru station rotary, so it stands out at the corner. I passed by it the night before while strolling around, but it was already closed. Since I was in Otaru, I had to try LeTAO! So the next day, even though I had plans to leave in the morning, I waited for LeTAO to open. I couldn't eat in, so I got takeout and enjoyed it in the car while traveling! The Crème Brûlée was rich with a strong milk flavor, just as expected! The moist mille-feuille was perfect for the hot weather, so I bought a sturdy cooler bag to take it home. LeTAO is famous for their Valentine's chocolates and cheesecake, but they also had a variety of cakes in the store, so I definitely want to go back and enjoy some cake in a leisurely sit-down next time!

After finishing the Otaru food walk in the afternoon, I was tired so I returned to the hotel. Next to the hotel was the Otaru sweets master "LeTAO" station store!! On July 10th, the limited 50-piece roll cake was lemon flavored. The cream was refreshing with a hint of lemon, so delicious. The roll cake had a chewy and slightly heavy texture. I received a birthday card that gives me a discount at a local bakery in Otaru. On a Sunday morning before 10 o'clock, there was a long line of people at the building where the bakery is located. The reason for the crowd? A limited edition matcha roll cake, of which only 40 were available. Priced at around 1,300 yen, it was definitely worth the wait! I arrived at 10 o'clock and was able to purchase two cakes about 15 minutes later. The matcha flavor with a hint of bitterness, the texture of red bean, and the creamy filling were all delicious. Although LeTAO is known for being a bit pricey, the taste and value make it worth lining up for. Apparently, they offer a different seasonal flavor every month, so I might just have to line up again! Only available in whole cakes, there were no small ones this year. So, I decided to try this one instead. The yuzu has just the right amount of tartness, refreshing with a good balance of cream. Not too sweet and easy to eat. It seems that a strawberry flavor has been added to the classic product "Double Fromage." The pale pink color looks cute. I hope I can buy it next time I come.

I walked all the way from Nishi-Otaru to Otaru Station and I was exhausted due to the heat. The cafe is located on the 1st floor of the building next to the Doutor Inn, across the intersection from Otaru Station. Although the cafe mainly offers takeout items like baked goods, there are 4 counter seats available for dining in. I ordered a Hokkaido-exclusive Double Cut, a cream puff, and an iced cafe latte for 1,020 yen. It was a holiday lunchtime, and there was only one staff member, indicating that there weren't many customers. The items were served in disposable plates and cups. The fluffy Double Cut was delicious as always! I enjoyed the generous serving of iced latte as well. Now, it's time to take the bus back to Sapporo! During our trip, we stayed at a hotel and noticed a soft serve ice cream shop on the same premises. The cheese and vanilla soft serve looked delicious, so we decided to stop by with our family. We ordered a soft serve with both cheese and vanilla flavors. Both flavors were tasty on their own, but even when mixed together, the deliciousness remained the same. Our 3-year-old child kept asking for more because they loved it so much. The soft serve was delicious, and the cone was crispy too. We are also curious about the cheesecake. ★

This is Ekimorutao in front of Otaru Station. I tried the moist mille-feuille and sank fromage soft serve, exclusive to Ekimorutao. The soft serve has a rich cheese flavor. The mille-feuille is also rich but with a gentle sweetness. Ruratao is definitely reliable. The staff were also very friendly.

In front of the station, there's LeTAO too! There's a small LeTAO shop called "Ekimorutao" located in Otaru, right in front of the station on the first floor of the Dormy Inn. I always have snacks here. On this day, it was a bit hot for Otaru, so I had soft serve ice cream and the usual Double Fromage (cut). The soft serve ice cream had a cone too but... I had to get it in a cup since I was going back to the hotel (Dormy Inn next door). However, the Jersey milk and Fromage (cheese) mix soft serve was so delicious!! The hotel coffee was pretty good too, making it even more delicious!! The Double Fromage is unquestionably delicious, no further comments needed.

It's New Year's Day. While walking in front of the station, I saw a shop that was open. I don't usually go to LeTAO, so I would normally just pass by, but the cream puff poster caught my eye and looked delicious, so I was drawn into the shop. I asked the staff and found out that the cream puffs will be available from the 4th, so they weren't available yet, but instead I ordered the Crème Glacée Fromage soft serve. It cost 390 yen. I accidentally took a bite before taking a photo. Sorry. It's a rich mix of Jersey milk and 5 types of cheese. LeTAO's cheese is delicious after all. The cheese has a very refined taste and when combined with milk, it enhances the deliciousness. It was a sticky deliciousness. The cone also had a special feel to it. It was undeniably delicious. "Ezomortao" is a Ratao located on the first floor of a building in front of Otaru Station. They have been open since New Year's Day. I tried their seasonal product, the "Milk Crepe" with orange, which caught my eye on a flyer. I brought it as a souvenir and ate it, but... maybe I left it out at room temperature for too long... the cream became too soft and collapsed as soon as I put a fork in it. It was a disaster... The taste is delicious, but you must store it in a cold place and eat it right away."

After visiting the Sankaku Market, I explored near Otaru Station and found LeTao, so I decided to go in. Inside, there were sweets for takeout near the entrance, and a seating area for dining in the back. The staff recommended the Marige and Jersey Milk soft serve ice cream, so I ordered those. The Jersey Milk had the reliable taste you'd expect from LeTao, while the Marige had a hint of milk and cheese flavor.
