I visited "Ajikoen Higashinaeho Store" on June 11th for the first time this year. This restaurant is a yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) restaurant operated by a butcher from Kitami, and it was my first visit in over 20 years since their first store in Sapporo. The entrance of the store used to have a retail window where you could buy the same meat as served inside at a discounted price, but now it's gone. The location is along Kitahasshodori in Higashi Ward, and you can see the sign for "Charcoal Ajikoen" on the left when moving east from the Motomachi subway station. The building used to have a log house style with logs incorporated, but it has been renovated and now has a unique design with vertical columns covering the front. There are about 9 parking spaces in the front and a larger second parking lot in the back, so parking is not an issue. Today, my companion wanted to have cold noodles for lunch, so we decided to visit this restaurant. It's not easy to find a place that serves cold noodles for lunch, so we ended up at the Higashinaeho store despite the closer distance of the Shinkawa store, which has had some issues with closing at times. We arrived at 11:40, and there were already some cars parked in the front lot. We were seated at a round table since there were only two of us. I decided to go for the "Solron Red Ramen & Hokkaido Beef Harami Rice" lunch set for 1518 yen, while my companion ordered the cold noodles, fluffy egg soup, ice-finished raw marbled hormone, and a large jug of beer. I chose the extra-large rice option for my ramen. I also selected an iced coffee from the drink corner. The dishes arrived, and the Solron Red Ramen, which is only available as part of the lunch menu, looked special. The toppings included red-tinted white leeks, sliced scallions, and two slices of chashu pork. The red soup had a layer of oil on top, and underneath were onions, bean sprouts, sesame seeds, and beef. The soup itself was a milky white Solron Tan soup with a layer of red oil on top. The noodles were medium-thin curly noodles, and the spiciness was not as strong as the color suggested. The noodles were delicious and easy to enjoy.
