I had never been to the Obihiro Sanjo store before, so today I decided to have a snack time here! The cafe space is on the second floor, with a comfortable number of seats and a relaxing view. The original cream puff at the Sanjo store is a must-try! There were so many delicious options, it was hard to choose. What I ordered: - Pudding Cream Puff (250 yen) - Rokkatei Ice Cream with Caramel Soft Serve (800 yen) - Strawberry Parfait (650 yen) - Tomohiro-style Hayashi Rice (1200 yen) The Rokkatei Ice Cream is a seasonal recommended item! You can add soft serve for an extra 100 yen, which is a must on hot days! The shaved ice is fluffy and comes with a luxurious Marusei butter cookie. It's a filling treat! And then, the original Pudding Cream Puff at this store! A small, cute pudding inside a cream puff! The crispy cream puff shell goes perfectly with the creamy pudding inside! On top of the Strawberry Parfait are small macarons! It looks adorable and tastes delicious without being too sweet! The Hayashi Rice is slow-cooked for two weeks, resulting in a rich and flavorful dish that you won't be able to stop eating! Rokkatei is a place where I can always count on great taste! I highly recommend trying their original items as well! Everything was delicious, thank you for the meal!

Sixth Flower Tea Room is easy to use, especially after events where the end time is uncertain due to its continuous operation. The main store and the West store in Obihiro are usually crowded, but the West 3rd Street store is relatively empty and you can enter without waiting. - Beef Stew with Rice or Bread 1300 yen + Coffee 400 yen The stew is served piping hot. The sauce has a sweet and sour taste, lacking a deep flavor from long simmering, but still quite tasty. The meat is from Shihoro beef in Tokachi, with no unpleasant smell and delicious taste. The meat is cut into chunks and there is a decent amount served, which is satisfying. The bread in the set is the same as the freshly baked "kuppe" offered in the morning at the West store, which was a nice bonus. - Fromage Blanc Spring 650 yen In the middle of the strawberry soup, there is a fluffy island of fresh cheese floating. Light and fluffy, sweet and sour, with cocoa nibs sprinkled on top for texture and flavor contrast. - Crispy Pie Strawberry Yogurt 230 yen I wanted to eat it on the spot, but I was too full so I took it to go. Other stores offer custard cream, but only the West 3rd Street store has the limited edition strawberry yogurt cream available. Personally, I prefer the strawberry yogurt. It has a luxurious strawberry jam filling, fruity and tangy. The light pie crust complements the buttery aftertaste well. I look forward to coming back soon to enjoy this delicious treat again.

【Takeout】When I went to work today, a colleague who had been to Obihiro over the weekend gave me a souvenir. Normally, I don't eat it and bring it home to let my wife eat it, but... It's been decades since I last received chocolate on Valentine's Day (laughs), so I decided to try it out. Rokkatei Nishi 3-jo Store. I'm not a big fan of chocolate, and I thought white chocolate would be even sweeter! Well, since I got it, might as well give it a try, right? When I took it out of the bag, the design was quite fancy. When I tasted it, it was indeed sweet. But... with a milky flavor, it's not bad (laughs). Since it doesn't use cocoa, this must be the taste. Actually, it's tastier than the high-end chocolate I had the other day (laughs). Oh, so this is what Rokkatei's chocolate is like. I'm not sure if I want to eat it again, but I feel like my range of foods I can eat is expanding (laughs). Maybe my number of reviews will increase now. It was delicious! Thank you very much♪

Compared to the nationally known Marusei Butter Sand, the specialty of Rokkatei may have lower recognition. It is a popular snack among locals. Both come in simple, traditional Japanese-style packaging, but they are actually Western-style sweets, making them suitable for those who don't like sweet bean paste. - Daiheigen: A pack of 4 for 540 yen (tax included) This classic madeleine has been around for a long time, and the pack of 4 is definitely for home consumption! The rich buttery flavor of the moist and dense dough, enhanced by the addition of mirin, is sure to please everyone. When I tried Henri Charpentier's madeleine, I couldn't help but think "This tastes like Rokkatei!" Both are made from carefully selected high-quality ingredients. They are both delicious! - Momotose: Sold individually for 130 yen (tax included) I remember this being a commemorative confection for the 100th anniversary of Obihiro Kaiki, but I couldn't find that information on the official website. I was surprised to find out that it is a sponge cake made without flour! It uses almond powder in the dough. The sponge has a slightly rough texture, filled with butter that gives it a small yet rich and moist taste. The black currant (cassis) jam under the madeleine adds a sharp sourness, balancing out the rich butter flavor. The outer pie crust remains slightly crispy even after some time, with a fragrant butter aroma. It's a sophisticated confection with three harmonious elements, but its nationwide recognition may be low due to the overshadowing popularity of flagship products like Marusei Butter Sand. It's a great treat, especially for those who enjoy sweet and sour flavors. Among Rokkatei's baked goods, Momotose and Frost are my top two favorites. Oh, but the Strawberry Chocolate is also hard to resist with its sweet and sour taste (laughs). Marusei Butter Sand, a popular item, was actually not my favorite until recently. It seemed too sweet and rich for me. To my surprise, I discovered that it tastes amazing when alternated with strong coffee. This might also be delicious with alcohol. I recently tried Takasago Shuzo's daiginjo sake "Kokushi Muso" and finally found alcohol enjoyable. The orange-flavored chocolate aroma is enhanced. Now, I wonder about Ogawaen's Raisin Witch Sand, the original inspiration for Marusei Butter Sand. I would love to order it and give it a try!

On New Year's Day, this store is open for business, with a cafe on the second floor where you can also enjoy meal menus. Since there are few stores open on New Year's Day, it was quite crowded so I gave up on the cafe and opted for takeout instead. They had 5 flavors of cream puffs available, and I tried the chestnut flavor. It was filled with chestnut cream and chopped chestnuts, topped with nuts on the crispy puff pastry, and it was delicious. I also bought a strawberry yogurt cream flavor crispy pie, which is exclusive to this store. The sweet and sour strawberry combined with the refreshing yogurt cream was so tasty that I finished it in no time! They had a variety of cakes that all looked delicious. They even had giveaways of unreleased sweets, showing the excellent service of Rokkatei.

[Rokkatei] Obihiro Nishi 3rd Street Store On the way back from Nonkemachi, we decided to drop by this place. The area near the station was crowded, but just a little further away, we felt a sense of relaxation doubled. I was deeply impressed by the pizza with fresh mushrooms. Wait, what does it mean that Tokachi has a self-sufficiency rate of 1100% for wheat?! Almost all the wheat in Japan's convenience stores and supermarkets is imported, right? I find it oddly reassuring to think that Obihiro probably doesn't import wheat. This has triggered my desire to indulge in wheat products! I believe they use beet sugar for sweetness too. I admire Obihiro for making me realize the effort companies put into using domestic wheat, even in Tokyo. I really love Obihiro.

Maple syrup red bean (550 yen) and hot coffee (380 yen) were ordered at this large building with limited seating but a spacious atmosphere due to the high ceiling. The unique cream puff caught my eye, but I decided to try the maple syrup red bean dessert. There were options for regular agar, maple agar, and fresh blueberry. The syrup, likely maple, was a bit diluted due to the moisture from the agar. The maple agar was sweet and delicious, and the blueberry was also sweet and tasty. With the addition of whipped cream, I found myself craving another cup of coffee.

This time, it's snack time. I headed to the Nishi Sanjo store in search of the crispy pie in strawberry yogurt flavor that is not available at the main branch near the station. In addition to the crispy pie, the Nishi Sanjo store also sells mango pudding choux cream, which I tried this time. Here, you can watch the Western confectionery being made in a live kitchen style through the glass. The strawberry yogurt flavor has a distinct acidity, completely different from the normal custard cream. Personally, I still prefer the standard one. I think the custard at Rokkatei is exceptionally delicious. I can't help but admire how all the confectionery makers in Hokkaido create such delicious treats. The mango pudding choux cream has a mango pudding in the middle of the whipped cream, making it a luxurious treat where you can enjoy two desserts at once. I love ramen, sushi, and yakitori, but I also have a sweet tooth! During a business trip, my colleague recommended we visit Rokkatei together. The shop was very clean, and it was fun to watch the staff making sweets through the glass. We went upstairs and let my colleague order for us. The stylish desserts that came out were all delicious! I forgot to take photos, but the mango shu cream was also really tasty. I can't wait to try their hotcakes next time I'm on a business trip.

Hinamatsuri is approaching. I took a picture of the cute Hina dolls made from wrapping paper from Rokkatei ✧✧ Among the Rokkatei stores, I really like the Nishi 3-jo store for its variety of products, atmosphere, and parking. There is also a cafe on the second floor. The cafe seemed popular as I could see customers going up. I visited on a holiday afternoon and it was a lucky timing as it was not too crowded, so I could leisurely choose my sweets. Choosing sweets gives me the same excitement as when I was a child going to a candy store. The parking lot can fit around 20 cars. The dog statue at the entrance is also heartwarming!!

Just an hour after eating ice cream, I found myself here. The excuse is that I came to buy dessert for after dinner. After all, this is the main store in Obihiro. I love sweets, I love ice cream, and I love snacks. My favorite snack since childhood has always been the butter sandwich from Rokkatei. I love it so much that I bought 40 of them at New Chitose Airport on this trip to Hokkaido (all for myself to eat). I love it to an almost unhealthy extent. Now, let's start with the crispy pie. It says to eat it within 3 hours on the package. I ate it about 5 hours later, but it was still crispy. The custard has a strong scent of vanilla beans and tastes delicious. The cream puff here is a limited edition item only available at this store. It's a typical cream puff, but with a stronger cream taste compared to the crispy pie. It's a matter of preference, but I think I prefer the custard cream. I also tried the chocolate banana cream puff, which was just as expected. Both pastries have a crispy texture. Although the cream puff wasn't exactly to my liking, the crispy pie was still delicious. The high viscosity of the custard cream with the scent of vanilla beans and the right amount of sweetness is great. Rokkatei is a classic, but you can't miss it. Apart from buying butter sandwiches, feel free to take out or have tea at the store.

Representing Hokkaido's confectionery maker, Rokkatei. Hokkaido residents often receive various treats from this company, and are familiar with many of their sweets. One famous treat is the "Marusei Butter Sand." It features a butter cream with raisins sandwiched between soft and sweet biscuits. When given as a souvenir to people from outside Hokkaido, they are usually delighted and say they love it. Instead of buying unique souvenirs, it's safer to go with the simple choice of Marusei Butter Sand. However, I personally don't like Marusei Butter Sand. Probably because I don't like raisins, I tried it recently and still didn't like it. My favorite from Rokkatei is "Taihei Gen." I've loved it since long ago. It's like a love song for me. This delicious madeleine uses plenty of Hokkaido butter. The packaging used to be wrapping paper, but now it's improved for better preservation. The moment you open it, a lovely buttery scent fills the air. The texture is more fluffy than moist, with a delicate buttery flavor. The package suggests it's even tastier when warmed, but I just eat it as is. Having Taihei Gen alone boosts my mood. For souvenirs, I go with Marusei Butter Sand, but for myself, it's Taihei Gen. That's my usual pattern. Thank you very much. It was a delicious meal. P.S. This Nishi Sanjo store is located along National Route 38, making it easy to stop by. There's also a cafe on the second floor, where you can relax more compared to the main store. It's always wonderful whenever I visit.

After enjoying a delicious curry in Sapporo, I headed towards the center of Obihiro, but I still had some time before my appointment. So, I decided to stop by Rokkatei Nishi 3-jo store for a snack. The cafe was full during lunchtime, so I bought a "Crispy Pie" for 200 yen and decided to eat it at one of the free tables outside. The pie was a bit crunchy with a slightly sweet custard cream filling. The balance between the pie and the cream was perfect! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Now, off to work!

When I purchased a gift on the first floor, I was tempted and stopped by the cafe on the second floor. The menu includes hotcakes and seasonal recommended sweet red bean soup, but I ordered the "Pudding Cake" for 420 yen and coffee for 360 yen (payment can also be made with 25 points from the Rokkatei point card). The dessert arrived in Rokkatei-designed tableware. The staff's smile was nice, and they mentioned that you can have free refills of coffee. The pudding was served with whipped cream on the side. The atmosphere in the shop added to the deliciousness compared to eating at home. The coffee was strong. When I finished my coffee, the staff offered a refill, but I had already finished my cake, so I declined. The staff continued to offer refills afterward. It's good service to have the staff offer refills without the customer asking. If you're from Obihiro, you may have heard the phrase "If you're going to marry someone, make it someone from Rokkatei." It's a compliment that they receive good training in thoughtfulness. But even if they are like that at work, in reality, when they become a wife, they might say, "Let me have some freedom at home." So don't take it too seriously when they are called a good wife. The menu states, "Birthday guests can receive a special gift from the Rokkatei staff. Feel free to ask." (Proof of birthday is required) I wonder what it could be. Maybe a few staff members will sing in front of you? That would make children happy. But if you were the protagonist, it would be quite embarrassing. It would be nice to have the staff sing in front of you with lovely smiles, but you would be very conscious of the people around you. Is it a Japanese thing to be conscious of others when your birthday is being celebrated with a song? Just imagining it makes me nervous for my birthday. Oh, I assumed it was a song, but it might be something else.

I'm in Obihiro. I walked from Makubetsu to Otosan and then to Obihiro. The weather was great, so it was the perfect walk. It seems like all we did for two nights and three days was walk, eat, soak in hot springs, or sleep. When I thought I wanted to relax with some sweets, I found Rokkatei! Even the dog at the entrance wears a mask these days. Inside, I head to the cafe on the second floor. About 80% of the customers are already inside. I order the Strawberry Parfait for 540 yen including tax and wait for about 10 minutes. The strawberries are so vibrant! Macarons, vanilla ice cream, strawberry sherbet! There's plenty of whipped cream and strawberry jam. Alright, let's dig in. Why do strawberries and whipped cream go so well together? It's even more delicious when you add some ice cream! This is what happiness in this world is all about. I enjoyed it slowly. I also had some accidents and chatted with the waitress. It was a very satisfying parfait time. Thank you for the meal.

Heart-shaped choux pastry and chocolate Mont Blanc. It was so cold outside, so I decided to enjoy them at home with a cup of coffee. The heart-shaped choux pastry had a filling of cream and custard, and it looked really nice.
