I passed by Orenji Street in Wakkanai and wandered southward. I found a bento shop and ordered the "Norikara Bento" (440 yen). The style of the nori bento is common among bento shops, with a white fish fry included. The "karaage" is a topping, but the size is quite small with only two pieces. The white fish fry is also a bit small, I wish it had more volume. I took it back to my accommodation. It was freshly made and warm, as they don't pre-make them. It's nice to have a bento shop nearby when on a business trip. Thank you for the meal.

I had a "Nori Bento" at Magokoro Bento in Otaru, Hokkaido. The bento consisted of rice topped with seaweed, a fried white fish fillet, chikuwa tempura, kinpira burdock, and pickled daikon. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, although the size of the fried items seemed a bit small compared to other places. Magokoro Bento is different from typical elderly-oriented chain stores. The menu includes a variety of Nori Bento options ranging from 400 yen to 520 yen. I also tried the "Karaage" as a beer snack, which was crispy and tasty. The restaurant offers a loyalty program where collecting 30 chopstick wrappers can be redeemed for a 400 yen discount. Thank you for the meal!
