This Chinese restaurant is located in an area with hidden gem-like shops on the south side of Shin-Fukushima Station in Fukushima. I visited for lunch and decided to order the mapo tofu, which came in a bowl with plenty of mapo tofu, rice, egg soup, pickled vegetables, and one shumai. The mapo tofu was very hot due to the generous amount of oil, so be careful not to burn your mouth. The minced meat was well seasoned, and the spiciness came more from the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns rather than chili peppers. The dish had a rich and complex flavor with a variety of fragrant spices. The portion size was generous, so you'll definitely need a rice refill. The shumai was also delicious with a good amount of meat filling. Although the mapo tofu alone was satisfying, the shumai lunch set would also be popular. The pickled vegetables were tasty, the egg soup was light, and the rice was intentionally firm, possibly to complement the mapo tofu. This Chinese cuisine may not be refined, but it is full of character and offers high-quality flavors. Despite it being a weekday lunchtime, the restaurant was consistently full, indicating its popularity.

I visited the restaurant around noon on a regular day. The place was almost full, but I managed to order the mapo tofu set meal. It was quite spicy, but delicious as expected from a top 100 restaurant. They also had a steamed chicken set meal, so I plan to go back to try that. The location is a bit far from the station, which is why there wasn't a huge line, and that was good.

This restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine that you can enjoy. I visited for dinner and the a la carte menu was very appealing. We ordered a variety of dishes including a starter platter, stir-fried leeks with liver, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, sweet and sour pork, and mapo tofu. They also have over 100 types of wine to choose from, adding to the enjoyment. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Chinese restaurant in Fukushima. It's a little far from the station. They have a wide variety of alcohol. I wonder what baijiu is. It's similar to sake, but I prefer sake. The food is delicious. However, I wasn't sure about the prices. They asked if it was okay to order for the number of people, so I ordered a little extra for each dish, but I couldn't tell how much extra was added from the menu prices. The sweet and sour pork was the most delicious.

Came here to hop between nice restaurants in Fukushima with my friends. We kept our first order light since it was our first stop, but all the dishes were incredibly delicious. The mapo tofu was especially authentic! It had a powerful kick of spiciness that hit later on.

I think the delicious mapo tofu in Osaka is the best! It's seriously delicious! The interior is also stylish! I went during the day, but next time I want to try the evening course! If you're looking for a lunch spot in Fukushima, this is the place to go! I've never had such delicious mapo tofu before!

Hello, this is Mark. In Fukushima, OIL, Rokutoku Kongo-sha, and Mr. N are the top three places known for their mapo tofu. Due to their long operating hours, I usually visit OIL, but this time I decided to go to Rokutoku. The chef there may not be the friendliest, but their skills are top-notch and the food is delicious. It's spicy, but also very tasty. I love the crunchy texture of the sansho pepper and the rich flavor of the meat combined with the spicy oil. The lack of friendliness can be a bit off-putting, but if you accept it as part of the experience, it's fine. By the time I finish my meal, I'm sweating profusely, but I really love their boldly flavored mapo tofu.

A highly popular high-level Chinese restaurant in Fukushima! I had only been there for lunch before, trying the mapo tofu, but this time I finally visited for dinner. Each dish had a great volume and the taste was excellent, leaving me very satisfied! The spicy and stimulating saliva chicken, the buri buri octopus with a sauce infused with sansho pepper and myoga, the ultra-thick Chinese-style sashimi of amberjack, and the three kinds of appetizers made for a luxurious start. The cold mapo eggplant had a more stimulating mapo sauce than the saliva chicken, with a nutty texture and the aroma of basil that made it extremely delicious. The shrimp chili had shrimp that could be eaten with the shell, with a rich shrimp flavor and a gentle chili sauce with eggs that was tasty. The highlight was the extra-large sweet and sour pork, with a crispy exterior and a tender and sweet filling that was amazing. The roasted onions were also delicious! The mapo tofu seemed to be milder in color and stimulation compared to when I had it before, but it was still delicious. With four people drinking about three drinks each, the cost was around 8,500 yen per person. Although it's a bit pricey, I would like to go back to try the shark fin and crab dishes as well.

I want to eat something spicy. Let's go to the place where I couldn't eat mapo tofu the other day. I'm alone today, so it's okay if I sweat a lot! I arrived late, but I was seated immediately as the place was busy with customers. I'm tempted by today's Set B, but I'll go for the mapo tofu today! The mapo tofu is quickly prepared in front of me. Green onions, soup, tofu, and various seasonings are added to the wok, mixed quickly, and it's ready! It looks delicious. The red chili oil floating on the surface looks spicy. I remember my colleague, who said he likes spicy food, found it very spicy here, so I'm a bit nervous... I take a bite, and it's delicious! The blend of spices is rich and flavorful. The way they use spices here is great. And the umami is amazing. It's not an overwhelming umami, but a natural one from the meat, aromatic vegetables, and bean paste. It's so tasty. It's spicy. But it's a good kind of spicy. Just the right amount of heat. I can't eat too fast because it's spicy. I slowly enjoy it, but I'm sweating a lot! I'm already a sweaty person, but I'm sweating like a waterfall. I'm glad I came alone. On the side, there's a dumpling and egg drop soup. My tongue is numb by now. It was delicious. This might be the best mapo tofu in Osaka. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the mapo tofu set meal for lunch on a regular day. It was delicious with a strong flavor of sansho pepper! The mapo tofu was spicy and rich in flavor. A had the mapo tofu set meal, while B had the daily lunch special. I had the daily special on a previous visit and the steamed chicken was also incredibly delicious. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I have visited this restaurant several times. The authentic Ma La Dou Fu dish with a hint of spices like star anise is very satisfying. It comes with Zha Cai, and the soup and rice are all-you-can-eat. The quality is very high and I feel very satisfied with the lunch. There is always a line for the oil, but if you come before 12 o'clock, you can enter without waiting, which is a good point. In terms of taste, cost performance, and convenience, I highly recommend it.

The lunch menu offers two options: mapo tofu and daily special. Since mapo tofu is spicy, I always go for the daily special. Today's dish was drool-worthy pork, and I particularly like how they generously sprinkle cilantro without asking. The authentic dishes and the ambiance of the restaurant give off a foreign charm.

The Fukushima area is known for its many famous restaurants serving mapo tofu, and this is one of them that I have always wanted to visit. I had the mapo tofu lunch set (1100 yen). You can get free refills of rice and soup. The mapo tofu comes in a large bowl with plenty of it! It is incredibly delicious with a perfect balance of spiciness, sweetness, and a spicy kick. It has a slightly different spiciness compared to other mapo tofu dishes I've had before, and the presence of Sichuan peppercorns adds a nice numbing sensation. I can understand why this place is so popular for its mapo tofu. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I finally managed to make a reservation at a Chinese restaurant in Fukushima that is known for its delicious food. The restaurant was fully booked and you couldn't get in without a reservation. The quality of all the dishes was high, but the mapo tofu lived up to its reputation as one of the best in Fukushima. I went there for the mapo tofu, but there was a surprise waiting for me - sweet and sour pork! It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the best sweet and sour pork I've ever had. Considering the level of the food, I think the cost performance is good.

In this revisit to the Chinese restaurants featured in the "Mapo Tofu Visits" series, I visited a place called "Rokutoku Ganges" where the Sichuan peppercorns in the dish were coarsely crushed, creating a deliciously numbing and spicy Mapo Tofu that I rated 4.5 stars. While not a top 100 restaurant, it was once known as one of the "Fukushima Big Three Mapo Tofu Shops" alongside "Chinese Cuisine Oil," and I was convinced of its deliciousness. This was the restaurant I most wanted to revisit this time. Next up are the photos.

Rokutoku Kongo Sha, a popular Chinese restaurant in Fukushima, is known for its delicious sweet and sour pork that will make your cheeks drop. They offer a variety of dishes, not just spicy ones, so even those who are not fond of spicy food can enjoy. Highly recommended for a date night. Rating: ★★★★☆

Looking for lunch in Fukushima, I stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant with a nice exterior. Today's choices were mapo tofu or steamed chicken. I decided on the steamed chicken, and after a short wait outside, we were seated at the counter. The steamed chicken was served with plenty of green onions and a delicious black vinegar sauce. The texture was moist, and the flavor was enhanced by the hint of Chinese spices. The dish also came with crunchy bean sprouts and a tasty black vinegar sauce. Even the dumplings on the side were delicious, with firm shrimp inside. We ended the meal with a comforting egg drop soup. Overall, the meal was satisfying and reasonably priced at 1,100 yen. I highly recommend this place, even though my colleague warned me that the mapo tofu was quite spicy. Can't wait to try it next time!

I ordered the daily special menu instead of the classic mapo tofu, and I think it was the right choice. Both dishes cost 1,100 yen each. Personally, I don't feel like it's overpriced. The fact that you can have unlimited rice refills and be guaranteed to be full is also a big plus.

Mapo tofu set meal for 1100 yen. It feels like it contains one block of tofu. The amount of oil used is reminiscent of Osaka style. The whole Sichuan peppercorns give it a crunchy texture, and the presence of green onions is distinctive. The spiciness is moderate. The rice is a bit dry, which is disappointing. I wish there were more gyoza to eat.

Mapo tofu lunch for 1,100 yen at a Chinese restaurant in Fukushima. This place is known for its delicious mapo tofu, which is spicy, flavorful, sweet, and rich - absolutely delicious. I love eating it while sweating profusely. I'd like to try their dinner menu as well. About 5 groups were already lined up 10 minutes before opening on a weekday.

There used to be a shop in the Fukushima area that was known as one of the "Three Great Mapo Tofu Shops". One of these shops, "Jiangjan Fukushima", has closed down, but the remaining ones are "Chuka Sairo" and "Rokutoku Ganges". This place has been featured in the Michelin Guide multiple times and has been covered in numerous TV shows, making it a famous spot that cannot be avoided for those seeking Sichuan-style mapo tofu. The owner of "Rokutoku Ganges" trained at the Chinese restaurant "Shuchuka Kusshin", which has already closed down. Originally located on the north side of JR Tozai Line Shin-Fukushima Station, the restaurant moved to the south side in 2019.
