I visited a long-established diner in Ebetsu City that has been passed down for three generations. There are a few parking spaces next to the shop. I visited in the early afternoon on a weekday and it was crowded, with what seemed like a family in the kitchen. An irregular elderly lady who seemed like a regular customer was bustling around taking orders and serving water, so it took less than 30 minutes from ordering to being served.
- Kake soba 500 yen
The taste is of standing-eating quality, but it is sufficient for a diner. It is not overly sweet and you can enjoy it smoothly without any dissatisfaction in the aftertaste. Not bad at all. After finishing the meal, when I handed 500 yen to the mother of the shop at the time of payment, she handed me back 100 yen saying "I made you wait for quite a while." However, I politely declined and said, "It's only natural for it to take time when it's busy. Waiting for delicious food is enjoyable. Thank you for your consideration." Even in this era of high prices, I am well aware of the importance of 100 yen in a diner. Of course, it was not a calculated move, but I was happy with the gesture.

Around Ebetsu Station, I was looking for a late lunch and ended up at a restaurant called "Yarikuriya." It was past lunch hours, but luckily they had all-day dining. I was greeted by the friendly owners and decided to order the "Oyakodon" set meal. The dish was served in a traditional ceramic bowl with a perfectly cooked egg on top, flavorful chicken, and plenty of sauce. The rice was slightly firm, which complemented the dish well. The miso soup had seaweed in it, adding a nice umami flavor. I also enjoyed the side of pickled radish and octopus sashimi. Overall, the meal was satisfying, although I wish they had offered warm tea at the end. I'm curious to try their grilled fish or simmered fish set meals next time.

The old-fashioned popular diner in the Honcho-dori shopping street in front of Ebetsu Station has a history of over 60 years, so the menu is extensive. I usually order the pork cutlet curry or shrimp curry, but due to time constraints, I ordered the curry rice that would be served quickly. The curry at this diner may not satisfy those seeking spiciness, but the taste that has been supported for over 60 years is right here. This is what I like. I was able to enjoy it to the fullest. Thank you very much.

Today is the last day of my two-day weekend! I have no plans for today! Oh no! I forgot to go to the cardiology department yesterday! My medication ran out, and there's a high chance my blood pressure will go up to 230 again. I waited for 2 hours from around 9 am, it was painful! The waiting room was crowded! I asked the nurse if I could just get my medication without seeing the doctor, and she said okay, so I went back home! My wife requested to go to Shinotsu Vegetable Market, so we went to buy rice and vegetables. I got hungry! It's past 1 pm now! Since Sapporo has an increase in COVID-19 cases, we decided to go to Ebetsu city instead! We found a restaurant on Tabelog and decided to go there with my wife. We arrived and saw a retro Showa era exterior! The parking lot was spacious! But my wife asked, "Is this place okay?" I replied, "According to the Tabelog reviews?" I was curious about the third-generation sign on the signboard! We entered and saw two other customers. There was a step at the entrance! There are two steps like stairs. The inside of the restaurant was sparkling clean! Maybe it's because it's modern? The husband and wife owners were working hard! I looked at the menu and found scallop fry set meal, which is my favorite! I love scallop tempura and scallop fry. It's not common in supermarkets' deli section, but it's available in expensive tempura restaurants. My wife ordered tempura soba for some reason. After ordering, my wife said, "There's grilled fish set meal available!" I said, "I saw it in the Tabelog reviews!" I asked her if she wanted to change her order, but she said it's okay. What a shame! Visuals: Scallop fry set meal with 3 scallop fries, sliced cabbage, and cucumber on the side. Sashimi of tuna and octopus, and surprising addition of natto, pickled radish, and grated yam. The miso soup had shredded kelp. Post-meal feeling: The signboard advertised ramen and udon, but this time, I had a set meal while my wife had soba. I was very satisfied with the meal, it was delicious! My wife thought it was just okay. We might come back for the ramen next time. Thank you for the meal!

On a certain weekday, I went on a little expedition for lunch and visited a restaurant in Ebetsu City, located on 5th Street. The parking lot had a convenient number of spaces next to the restaurant. The interior was surprisingly spacious, with a long L-shaped counter and two tables in a traditional Japanese style. The background music was a TV information program. The menu for the day included udon, ramen, soba, and rice set meals, covering a wide range of options. I felt like trying grilled fish, so I chose the "Grilled Fish Set Meal (900 yen)" and opted for "Shredded Pacific Herring." After a while, the grilled fish was ready. I took a bite and found the Pacific Herring to be tender with a nice amount of fat, and it was convenient to eat the bones as well. Although there were some points that bothered me if I delved into the details, overall, I'll just say, "It's been a while since I had Pacific Herring!" Next to the herring were shredded cabbage, cucumber, and tomato with mayonnaise, a small amount of octopus and tuna sashimi, a sweet and sour vinegar dish with sliced cucumbers, miso soup with shredded kelp, pickles, grated radish, and a generous portion of rice in a large bowl. I finished the meal and couldn't help but think that if the fish had been a bit more refined, it would have been a much more enjoyable lunch. Thank you for the meal.

This is a long-established popular diner with over 60 years of history in the Honcho-dori shopping street in front of Ebetsu Station. Despite being called a shopping street, there are only a few shops like banks and eateries, making it almost like a deserted area. However, the fact that they have been in business for over 60 years shows the strength of this old-fashioned establishment. I often order the curry with cutlet or shrimp curry here, and this time I ordered the shrimp curry. Unlike regular curry rice, the curry with cutlet or shrimp curry comes with a fried egg on top. The curry here is not very spicy, but it goes well with Worcestershire sauce drizzled on top.

This is an old-fashioned popular diner that has been in business for almost 70 years. I had the katsu curry with a fried egg and tanuki soba. As expected from a traditional diner, the curry wasn't very spicy, but the nearly 70-year history adds a sense of trust to the taste.

I ordered the large serving pork cutlet curry at a popular diner in Ebetsu City. It is worth noting that ordering a large serving of ramen and a large serving of pork cutlet curry does not qualify for the Kikujirou set (tentative). By the way, if my memory serves me right, all set meals at this restaurant come with sashimi. If you order noodles and a rice bowl together, you will receive a 50 yen discount as the miso soup is not included. The Honcho Shotengai shopping street in front of Ebetsu Station, where this restaurant is located, is our beloved shopping street that even surprises us with "Passionate! Hot Sandwich" featured on Sapporo TV. If this restaurant were to disappear, it might spell the end for the Honcho Shotengai shopping street...that's not an exaggeration.

I ordered a large portion of curry rice. When in a hurry, curry rice is always the best choice. At this restaurant, when you order pork cutlet curry or shrimp curry, it comes with a salad and a fried egg, but when you order just curry rice, it doesn't come with them. I don't mind not having the fried egg, but there's still something unsatisfying about it.

Soy sauce ramen for 650 yen. It's a nostalgic taste. I used to come here often when I lived in Ebetsu (over 30 years ago).

This is a cafeteria in Ebetsu with over 60 years of history. The stable and reliable taste cultivated by its long history can be found here. I often eat katsu curry here. Eating katsu curry makes you win at life. That's it.

Hello, this is my first visit to this restaurant. My partner has been here a few times before. It's a noodle-centric eatery with a lot of history. The interior has a lot of character, with a long counter at the back and an unused refrigerated showcase, giving off a sense of history. I decided to try the ginger pork set meal, while my partner ordered the miso ramen. We had to wait a while for our food, maybe over 20 minutes. There were other customers before us, one reading the newspaper and another glued to the TV. It seems like regulars frequent this place, making the wait longer. The miso ramen was lukewarm and the noodles were soggy, not the best I've had. The ginger pork had a small portion of meat and the flavor was just okay, but I felt like it was lacking in quantity compared to other places I've been to. Despite that, I appreciate the effort of the third-generation owner to keep the business running. I hope they continue to thrive and I may visit again in the future.

2013/11/6 First visit, 179th restaurant visited this year. I went to an ENT clinic. Instead of the usual one in Iwamizawa, I decided to try a popular and crowded ENT clinic today. Maybe a different doctor will have a different perspective... with a faint hope (lol). The location is in Ebetsu! I arrived at the hospital a little before noon. Since it was my first visit, I had to fill out a questionnaire and complete the reception. They said they would see me a bit earlier since it was my first visit, and the time they told me was... 2 p.m.!! Seriously... wait for 2 hours... But it seems like I can go out, so why not have some ramen in Ebetsu!! I chose a restaurant that I hadn't visited before, Hachirikuriya near Ebetsu Station. It seems to have quite a history. When I entered the restaurant, there were 3 customers already. The customers at the counter in the back seemed to be enjoying their drinks in the daytime. The other two were waiting outside. From the diverse menu, I chose... miso ramen!! (Of course, right?). While waiting, there was a delicious smell of grilled fish... The roaster seemed quite old and emitted a strong smell. It looked really tasty. The grilled fish went to the customer before me. It seemed to be a grilled fish set meal. And then my ramen arrived! It looked like a typical diner ramen. Let's dig in! Starting with the soup. Hmmm... I see. It's average. It's like the typical soup you find anywhere, neither good nor bad. The noodles were cooked just right, chewy and good. The stir-fried vegetables didn't stand out. The soup seemed to go well with the wheat gluten. The chashu was a type that I'm not a fan of due to a slight unpleasant smell. Hmm... it's okay, but I have to say this ramen is not great. This is just a guess, but if they use the same soup, salt ramen might be better than miso. The ingredients also seem more suited for salt ramen. The customer sitting on my left was eating a large serving of salt ramen. They didn't seem like a regular, but they seemed to know what they were doing, so maybe salt ramen is the way to go!? I'm not sure, but I think choosing a set meal or something similar would be a better choice at this restaurant. Anyway, I want to try the grilled fish set meal!! Thank you for the meal.

I came here based on information from another blog, but it feels like I'm out of place. Since no one is coming to take my order, I'll just pour myself some water and then place my order after looking at the menu. The menu includes soba, ramen, rice bowls, and set meals. Today, I ordered the soy sauce ramen for 550 yen. The toppings included one slice of chashu, wheat gluten, bamboo shoots, fish cake, seaweed, and green onions. The noodles were medium-thin, slightly curly, smooth yet chewy, and cooked to a soft texture. I had imagined the ramen from a soba restaurant, so it was a bit different from what I expected. The soup was light in flavor. The chashu was well-seasoned, tender, and delicious. Rating: 3.0 out of 5.0

On December 16, 2011, in Ebetsu City, Hokkaido, at the restaurant "Yarikuriya" with a theme of Hokkaido and other noodle dishes. This time, we will be focusing on ramen at a dining-style restaurant. The restaurant has been around for over 60 years, currently run by the second and third generations. Located along Route 12, amidst large shopping centers and eateries, this local restaurant stands as a stronghold serving the community. The interior offers counter seating, tables, and even tatami rooms for various gatherings. We ordered the salt ramen in a large portion, which was reasonably priced at 650 yen. The broth was clear with a strong saltiness, complemented by a light chicken and bonito flavor. The noodles were Hokkaido-style, medium-thick curly noodles, served with firm char siu, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and wheat gluten. The taste was traditional and satisfying. We also ordered an additional small rice with squid sashimi. My family member had the soy sauce ramen, which had a classic Chinese noodle soup flavor with a mild saltiness. The experience made us want to visit again.

This is a quiet little diner near Ebetsu Station. It's a place where single men living alone sometimes crave grilled fish, miso soup, and white rice. The miso soup and rice here have a nostalgic and delicious taste that I personally really like. The set meal also comes with a small side of sashimi. The grilled salmon belly is crispy and delicious with a nice amount of fat. The grilled fish set meal varies depending on the day, but you can choose from several options. You can also get a large serving of rice for an extra 50 yen, as shown in the photo. I think this is a recommended place for men who love set meals.

This is a place in Ebetsu City, along Honcho Street in the bustling Ebetsu Station shopping street. Recently, many experts in the ramen world have been visiting, so I decided to check it out. I heard from a friend that the first generation ramen at "Hachirikuriya" was amazing, so I had to visit. The restaurant has its own parking lot for about 5-6 cars. I ordered the salt ramen, and it arrived in about 7-8 minutes. The clear soup had a hint of bonito flavor, and the taste was nostalgic with a slightly salty flavor. The noodles were medium-thick with a wavy texture, although they were a bit soft. The char siu was not the trendy type, but rather a saltier chicken thigh char siu. The restaurant has been serving ramen for 60 years in Ebetsu, and it can be considered as "Ebetsu Ramen."
