- Restaurant Name: Ramen Kinyoubi
- Rating: 3.73 on Tabelog (as of February 2023)
- Recognitions: Tabelog Ramen EAST Top 100 (2017-2018, 2020-2022), Hokkaido Ramen Top 100 (2023)
- This was the 8th stop on my Hokkaido Ramen Top 100 tour, known for its shoyu ramen with dried sardines. I walked from Nishi 11-chome despite the snowy conditions to burn off some calories from my third ramen of the day, but I recommend taking a train or taxi due to the slippery roads. I arrived around 2:45 PM and was able to get in right away.
- What I ordered:
- Shoyu Ramen with Dried Sardines (550 yen)
- Payment is made before ordering, and the price of 550 yen is surprisingly cheap. The interior has a counter with 14 seats, and the ramen was served in about 6 minutes. The soup was a slightly foamy amber color with a simple presentation of noodles, chashu, green onions, menma, and a rich aroma. The soup had a medium intensity with a strong dried sardine flavor and a hint of saltiness, perfect for the cold weather. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles with whole wheat mixed in, cooked just right with a pleasant chewiness and a subtle wheat flavor that paired well with the sardine broth. The chashu was smoked and slightly dry, but packed with savory flavor that complemented the soup. The couple who I assume run the shop had a warm and friendly demeanor. My only complaint would be that the prices are too low, making me worry about their business (apparently they have raised prices since). Thank you for the delicious ramen and the heartwarming service on a cold day! I will definitely come back.

The toppings were chashu, menma, and green onions. The noodles were thick and hand-kneaded, with char siu on top. The soy sauce soup was clear, with a nostalgic taste of simmered fish at first. The soy sauce flavor was light. The taste of simmered fish gradually faded away. There was a flavor change with bonito powder and garlic halfway through, which was also delicious. I will definitely go back again.

I had the opportunity to visit a popular restaurant that I don't usually get to go to on weekdays, so I decided to try Ramen Mokuyoubi. When I arrived about 10 minutes before opening, there were already about 10 people in line. I couldn't make it in on the first round, so I looked at the menu and waited for a while. I remember seeing in a magazine that they used to offer a ramen for the price of a coin, but understandably, that's not possible these days. However, the parking lot at the restaurant fits 3 cars, and if you have to park elsewhere, you can get an additional option like a seasoned egg. The seating was quick, and the mother came to take our order, and then we paid (sometimes you pay when you order). The father cooked the food while the mother managed the front of the house, and they ran the place very smoothly. The ramen arrived fairly quickly, and the soup had a strong dried fish flavor. The soup was light with minimal oil content. The ingredients included chashu, menma, and green onions. I added a seasoned egg and extra seaweed, which you can order individually. The noodles were straight and had a good texture, and you can even request hand-kneaded or thicker noodles. The portion of noodles was quite generous. The chashu was lean with little oil. Overall, the ramen was light and refined. And the best part is that it was very affordable for such high-quality ramen. It was a delightful experience.

I visited after a month and this time I decided to try the tsukemen. I saw many people eating it so I thought it must be delicious. I was quite hungry so I ordered two servings with extra green onions for 780 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes. A huge portion of tsukemen appeared and I wondered if I could finish it all. However, it was so delicious that I easily finished it. The rich and salty soup with a hint of bonito flavor paired perfectly with the chewy thin noodles. The dipping sauce remained flavorful until the last bite, which was amazing! I am always impressed by the high quality of food at Kinyoubi-san. I will definitely visit again soon.

Sapporo is still hot, but shady areas feel cool and you can sense the arrival of autumn. Finally, we've passed the peak of summer! So, I decided to go for ramen instead of tsukemen. It was delicious as always. I visit this place about once every 2 to 3 months. They will be closed on September 17th, 18th, and 19th, 2023. The soup seemed to have a stronger dried fish flavor than before. It was tasty. I wanted to have extra soup, but they only offer it for tsukemen. Even without extra soup, it was delicious. I have high blood pressure! Finished it all. I'll definitely go back again. ❤️

On 9/13, Thursday, I had the Niboshi Shoyu Ramen for 630 yen at Ramen Thursday. This was my first bowl on my second day in Hokkaido. I arrived 30 minutes before opening and was able to get a seat. It was nice to have chairs available. I placed my order and the bowl arrived in about 4 minutes. I am grateful for the world line where you can eat for only 630 yen. The gentle Niboshi flavor soaked in perfectly, making it a great choice for the first meal of the day. There were quite a few customers enjoying the tsukemen as well. The portion of noodles was surprisingly generous and filling. If only there was a shop like this nearby... This is what it means to be a ramen shop loved by people of all ages and genders. Thank you for the meal.

First visit! Sapporo Ramen Thursday Niboshi Shoyu Karanibo Tohoku's thick and rich niboshi, not the clear type! The Niboshi Shoyu has a really gentle flavor with the essence of niboshi! The Karanibo is just like that with added chili oil. I usually don't like niboshi, but I decided to give it a try. It was a good experience! For those who like niboshi, please give it a try! ❤️

It's steamy hot, but ramen! Tsukemen is not as hot, right? I accidentally ordered 1.5 servings instead of one, but oh well, can't help it! I only realized it when I paid. A lot to eat, but I'm completely satisfied!

A very friendly couple runs this shop. I visited on a Saturday morning, waited outside for about 5 minutes before entering the shop, and overall it only took about 10 minutes, which was smooth probably because it was scorching hot that day. The carefully crafted dried fish soy sauce ramen had a satisfying taste beyond its appearance. It was nice to get free toppings by using a nearby coin parking.

Visit at 12:28 on August 22, 2023 (Tue). There were 4 people inside the restaurant and 11 people waiting outside. At 13:01, I was seated. I ordered the Niboshi Shoyu Ramen (630 yen), seasoned egg (50 yen), and extra noodles (10 yen). At 13:12, the ramen was served. The soup had a clear but strong flavor of dried sardines, which paired well with the firm noodles. The extra noodles added more depth to the dish. Despite its simplicity, the ramen offered great value for the price. It was a bit disappointing that the turnover rate was not very high given the number of seats. When I left, there were about 7 people waiting.

It's been a while since my last visit. Arrived before 2 pm on a weekday and found no parking spaces. Parked at a nearby coin parking and entered the restaurant. Was seated right away. Today, I decided to try the Karanibo ramen. Toppings included green onions, seasoned egg, seaweed, and pork. All of this for only 120 yen. Such affordable toppings, amazing! The total price for the ramen was 800 yen. What's more, the staff noticed I parked at the coin parking and offered to upgrade my noodles to a large portion! Fantastic service. Now, the ramen is served. The ramen and toppings offer great value for the price. The ramen was delicious, with a well-balanced soup that wasn't overly fishy, and thin noodles that paired perfectly with the broth. I was impressed. I didn't get tired of it or feel the need to change the flavor throughout the meal. I will definitely be visiting regularly.

Whenever I go, it's always on Thursdays! Visited Ramen Thursday in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. It's listed in Tabelog's Top 100 Ramen Shops. Visited before 14:30 on a weekday. There were 2 people waiting outside. It's order-based with advance payment. Ordered the Shio Ramen with dried fish (630 yen). It's so cheap, haha. A light and flavorful shio ramen with a hint of dried fish. Very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Located on the outskirts of Sapporo is a ramen shop with a unique parking system that offers topping upgrades if you park in their coin parking lot. I ordered the standard Niboshi Shoyu Ramen at the plain counter seats. They also offer Tsukemen and spicy ramen options. I chose the medium thickness noodles with a hand-kneading service. The ramen tasted average, with a very subtle Niboshi flavor. The portion size was large and became overwhelming halfway through, so I left some uneaten. Priced in the 600 yen range, the cost performance is fair, but considering the negative impact of unnecessary calorie intake, the value may actually be negative. Overall, the ramen shop may not live up to its name as a "hundred famous shops."

I went to a highly rated ramen shop in the neighborhood. It was lunchtime and there was a line of 6 people waiting. Even after that, the line continued. I ordered 1.5 servings of tsukemen for 680 yen. It's quite rare to find a ramen shop these days where the price is below 700 yen. I used a coin parking, so I got a free upsize. The taste was simple and the noodles were straight. It's more like Kanto-style ramen than Hokkaido-style. The flavor was gentle and delicious. The cost performance is quite high.

I had some business in Chuo Ward and found a parking spot available, so I decided to have a bowl of Tsukemen with regular oil and 1.5 servings of noodles, with free yuzu peel, for 680 yen. Just like last time, I arrived around 1 pm and was able to sit down right away. The large serving of 1.5 noodles at this price is a good deal. It was another hot day with temperatures over 30 degrees, so I opted for Tsukemen again.

Dried fish soy sauce ramen for ¥630. Extra chashu (pork loin) for ¥100. Seasoned egg for ¥50. Boiled bean sprouts for ¥50. Nori (1 sheet) for ¥10. Total: ¥840. Delicious. The soy sauce is sharp, with a subtle aroma of dried fish. The dried fish flavor is not overpowering, which is good. All the toppings are well-balanced and do not detract from the overall taste of the ramen. Excellent. The noodles are thin straight noodles, with no strong flavor that complements the soup well. The chashu is thin and small, with little fat and a refreshing taste that goes well with the soup and noodles. The seasoned egg is indescribably delicious! It is slightly firm with a creamy yolk that has an exquisite taste. The bean sprouts are optional, but the finely chopped green onions were delicious. Next time, I want to try thick noodles, hand-kneaded noodles, or thick hand-kneaded noodles.

The other day I gave up waiting in line, but today I decided to try again since I was alone. I arrived at 11:40 and was fifth in line. I later found out that there were only about 10 seats and the turnover was slow, so waiting was understandable. I finally got seated a little after 12:00. I was surprised by how cheap it was. The shoyu ramen with dried fish was 630 yen, with an additional 100 yen for extra chashu, and 50 yen for a flavored egg. Plus, if you use a coin parking, you get a 50 yen discount. It only cost me 730 yen. Since coming to Sapporo, I've been used to paying over 1000 yen for a bowl of ramen, so this was a shock. The chashu was a bit thin and small, but that was expected for the price. Still, it was delicious. You can also choose the firmness of the noodles and the oiliness of the soup. I would gladly pay an extra 200 yen for this. Thank you for the meal!

I entered the ramen shop I had been keeping an eye on. There is parking space for 3 cars in front of the shop, and there is a coin parking nearby where you can get a parking ticket. I was lucky to find one empty space and was able to park. The shop has only a counter with seating for about 10 people. It's a popular place, so I was prepared to wait in line, but I was able to be seated right away that day. The menu offers either shoyu ramen with dried sardines or tsukemen, and I chose the tsukemen because it was a hot day. The prices are as cheap as rumored. They raised prices in April, but the cost performance is still great. I ordered the noodles firm with a soft-boiled egg topping. The soup, with its rich dried sardine broth and tangy flavor, was delicious as rumored. It's light but flavorful, and the medium-thick straight noodles have a strong wheat taste. I finished the dipping sauce by mixing it with the broth. I noticed that some other customers were also getting the yuzu topping for free. I want to come back again, and next time I'll try the dried sardine shoyu ramen.

I had the large serving of dried fish ramen with free yuzu peel topping. It cost 680 yen. First of all, the price is cheap! The ramen had a refined soup with a strong dried fish flavor. It was delicious and I ended up drinking most of it. There was also a condiment on the table called "mackerel garlic powder" which I tried, and even a small amount had a powerful impact, giving the soup a different deliciousness!

I had a spicy tsukemen. 1.5 servings for 730 yen. The price has gone up compared to before, but it's still worth it. It was my first time trying spicy tsukemen, and I enjoyed it. The prepayment system was unusual but interesting. There are 3 parking spaces in front of the store, but they are always full as it is a busy restaurant. If you use the parking service, you can receive a discount.
