I made a reservation during the Golden Week period through the OMAKASE website and visited this highly rated yakitori restaurant in Osaka, Isheii, which has an impressive Tabelog score of 3.87. The owner has expanded to Tokyo after being selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in Osaka in 2022. They offer only course menus, and I enjoyed a variety of dishes such as chicken meatball with plum, chicken breast with wasabi, neck meat, gizzard, grated radish, new potatoes, chicken wings with sansho pepper oil, grilled green onions, smoked chicken with gorgonzola cheese, Kyoto Nanatani duck grilled on a hearth, asparagus, soy sauce-marinated egg yolk, Galantine burger, oyakodon, harami, chouchin (lantern), tsukune (meatballs with sauce), heart (with sauce), and soriress (thigh base meat). The quality of the yakitori was excellent, with standout dishes being the Kyoto Nanatani duck, soy sauce-marinated egg yolk, and heart. The dessert, cherry blossom granita, was a refreshing finish. I was impressed by the deliciousness of every skewer, and I highly recommend trying the Kyoto Nanatani duck, soy sauce-marinated egg yolk, and heart dishes. I would definitely make a reservation again if I have the chance. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Looking back, I realize that in the world of yakitori courses, the structure mainly consists of different parts of the chicken, so unlike French, Italian, or traditional Japanese cuisine, it can be challenging to create a narrative or story. Nogizaka's Shinohara incorporated elements of Japanese cuisine to enhance the flavors of the yakitori served before and after. On the other hand, Torisho Ishii Hina took a straightforward approach, showcasing their confidence in the flavors. It might resonate with yakitori enthusiasts, but for beginners like me, it's a realm that is not easily understood. I simply enjoyed the delicious meal.

I visited OMAKASE on a weekday night and luckily got a reservation! Despite arriving a few minutes before opening time on a rainy day, the assistant kindly greeted us outside the restaurant. The course started promptly and the atmosphere was lively with a full house and spacious seating. Here are some highlights from the course: the juicy and crispy-skinned chicken breast with wasabi, and the tender and flavorful chicken tenderloin. I also recommend adding extra skewers towards the end of the meal for unique textures and flavors. From classic skewers to creative dishes like tsukune and duck, everything was of high quality. The restaurant's customer-focused service was evident in the options for the final dishes and additional orders. The staff were attentive and friendly. I took home a delicious minced chicken bento as a souvenir, which was top-notch. The bill was reasonable considering the quality, though it may be slightly pricey compared to other yakitori places. However, the experience is definitely worth it for yakitori enthusiasts and even those less familiar with it. I don't often go for yakitori, but I'm planning to visit this place regularly. Highly recommended!

The second visit was slightly different from the previous one in terms of one dish and some skewers, but the course content seems like it would never get boring no matter how many times you go. The individual dishes that come out in between are also delicious. The Amakusa Daioh skewers have a refreshing taste and a variety that doesn't get boring. The "Oonameko" was delicious for the first time. The skewer sauce is on the refreshing side. The shiratama has the ultimate half-cooked texture. The service is so polite that it feels pleasant. Overall, the portion size is on the smaller side. However, it's just right for the stomach. (It might be a bit small for men who eat a lot? Recommended to end with 2 dishes) Thank you for the meal! Today's course content: Smoked chicken spring rolls, Daikon radish (mountain wasabi), Seseri zucchini and maitake mushrooms with caviar, Sand liver, Large nameko mushrooms, Chicken wonton, Yagen nann, Green onions, New ginnan, Duck grilled on an irori (seasoned with black pepper), Tsukune, Chicken liver, Shiratama. I visited a famous yakitori restaurant in Osaka. I told the taxi driver the address, but we ended up on the wrong side of the building, so I walked for more than 5 minutes to get to the front of the restaurant. Those taking a taxi should be careful. The food is delicious no matter what you order. It was nice to be able to choose the last dish. I chose the chilled Chinese noodles, and they were very delicious.

On this day, I had a meeting at a site in Tokyo. While on the train heading to the site, I was looking at Instagram and saw a story from Torisho Ishii Ii-san, informing about a cancellation at Torisho Ishii Hina in Minamiazabu for that day. Moreover, it was one of the few days in a month when Ishii-san comes from Osaka to do the grilling. I knew I had to go! When I raised my hand, I got the OK, and this is my second time getting a seat this year, so lucky! I was in the mood for yakitori, so it was a perfect choice. That's why I visited Torisho Ishii Hina for the first time in over a year! I didn't have a great impression the first time, but this time I felt relieved knowing that Ishii-san himself would be grilling. Here's what we had, in the order they were served: - Kirin Ichiban Shibori beer 1. Smoked chicken spring rolls: The spring rolls were filled with smoked chicken and edible leaves from Hiroshima's Kajitani Farm! The aroma of smoked chicken and the flavor of the leaves were irresistible. So delicious! 2. Dakimono (hugging) - my favorite when grilled by Ishii-san! Absolutely the best! The flavor of mountain wasabi, crispy skin, and juicy inside. It was my first time trying it this year, and I was pleasantly surprised. 3. Daikon radish with ponzu sauce 4. Seseri (chicken neck): Juicy and tender, cooked perfectly. - Emile Beyer Lieu-Dit Pinot Gris Hohrain wine 5. Saezuri (esophagus) 6. Ginkgo nuts 7. Chicken breast cutlet with shiba-zuke tartar sauce, very refreshing. 8. Tebasaki (chicken wings) grilled in the irori (hearth) with pepper, delicious and juicy. 9. Negima (chicken and green onion skewers) with tasty sauce. 10. Kamo eggplant, hot and delicious. 11. Chicken wonton with green curry sauce, a great combination. 12. Yuka-gawa shichimi (seven-flavor chili pepper) on skewers, a fun texture. - Mie Prefecture Shimizu Seishiro Shouten's Masanotomo Nakadori Junmai Daiginjo sake 13. Harami (skirt steak) with delicious sauce on skewers. 14. Yakko nankotsu (soft cartilage) 15. Tsukune (chicken meatballs) with flavorful sauce. The skewers course ended here, and we moved on to additional items and finishing dishes. The additional skewers were grilled by Uekaji-san, who usually grills at Torisho Ishii Hina and was also previously at Ishii Jr.: 16. Topped with straw-grilled minced chicken rice bowl, incredibly fragrant and delicious. 17. Chicken meat ochazuke (tea-soaked rice) with plum, perfectly balanced and easy to eat. 18. Soriresu - meaty and amazing! 19. Chouchin - third time seeing Ishii-san grill, but still haven't seen him holding a bundle... haha. 20. Shio ginger ramen, flavorful and refreshing. 21. Watermelon sherbet with passion fruit, refreshing and a nice ending to the meal. It ended too quickly. Even though it felt like they might be using different types of chicken compared to the ones in Osaka, the grilling was fantastic, and I felt happy to experience their skill. I definitely want to visit their Osaka restaurant again. I hope to be able to make a reservation at the right timing for my next business trip. Thank you for the wonderful meal! The best!

The grilled chicken is seriously delicious, especially the skin-on breast and tenderloin. The tsukune is too refined, lacking impact in flavor and texture. Also, the shichimi for seasoning could use some improvement. I want it to have more punch. I also wish they had Shandygaff, haha. But overall, it's extremely delicious.

The restaurant, which opened in Tokyo in May 2022, in collaboration with Mitomie Mon, is located in a quiet residential area in Minami-Azabu, offering a serene atmosphere. Thank you for viewing. I revisited "Torisho Ishii Hina," a recipient of the 2023 Tabelog Yakitori EAST Top 100 award. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain, Chef Ishii was unable to come from Osaka to grill that day, so his apprentice did it instead. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of a building called Cliffside Building, a 12-13 minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station or Shirokane-Takanawa Station, and a 15-minute walk from Hiroo Station. The "Sand Liver Ennawa" with a crispy texture, the fluffy "New Ginkgo," the juicy "Tsukune," and the flavorful "Harami" that deepens with each bite were particularly good on this day. The "Cacio e Pepe" we always add was also very delicious. The menu we had that day included "Chicken and Mushroom Terrine," "Dakimi," "Seseri," "Chicken Breast Cutlet with Shibazuke Tartar Sauce," "Sand Liver Ennawa," "New Ginkgo," "Shichitani Duck Iroriyaki," with the front being loin meat and the back being thigh meat, "Teppan Wings," "Large Nameko Mushrooms," "Negima," "Torinomimik," "Tsukune," "Harami," "Yagen Nankotsu," "Sand Liver Ennawa," "Bonjiri," "Cacio e Pepe," "Raw Egg Yolk Soy Sauce Rice Bowl," "Liver," "Chouchin," "Chicken Salt and Ginger Ramen," "Watermelon Granite, Passion Fruit." A restaurant with two evening rotations. Visited during the 5 p.m. slot on Saturday. Arrived 5 minutes early and was the 3rd group in line. Waited until everyone was seated as it starts all at once. The quiet atmosphere inside created a strange tension. Waited for about 10 minutes chatting quietly with my companion until we could finally start. It began with a chicken and mushroom terrine, followed by grilled items. The skewers were crispy on the outside but not piping hot inside, giving off a gentle finish. It wasn't undercooked, more like perfectly fried tempura where the heat just reaches the center. No risk of burning your mouth even if you eat it right away. Each piece of meat was larger compared to other recent visits, but the overall portion size was still on the smaller side. Ordered 3 more skewers as an addition. Each additional skewer costs 500 yen. Finished with a parent and child rice bowl and palate cleanser. Each dish was tasty, with a gentle flavor profile, creating an overall flat impression. As someone who enjoys eating skewers, I found the portion size a bit small. While you can order more, it increases the cost, so the satisfaction level was moderate.

I have always wanted to go to "Torisho Ishii Hinata" but could never find a suitable time in my schedule. Finally, I had the opportunity to sit down at this restaurant. Starting with a chicken and mushroom terrine, I enjoyed various skewers such as Dakimi, Bonjiri Chicken Katsu, and chicken wings. I also ordered additional skewers like gizzard, eggplant, and ginkgo nuts. To finish off the meal, I had oyakodon and ramen. There is nothing to complain about the food, and above all, the restaurant had a warm and attentive service in a well-maintained setting. It is a wonderful place where those who appreciate good quality can truly enjoy.

On a summer night, I revisited a high-end yakitori restaurant. Located in a residential area of Minami-Azabu, Hinai Ishii. Beautiful L-shaped counter. The interior is more like a high-end sushi restaurant than a yakitori place. The atmosphere is not too flashy but just right. Well, unfortunately, I came with a man again tonight! Unfortunately, this restaurant has a hearth which is interesting. Let me briefly introduce the course menu. Starting with chicken breast appetizer, edamame paste with chicken breast, mountain wasabi seared chicken tail, firm wonton, softshell turtle gizzard with chicken wing tips, black pepper paste with grated yam, white corn and okra, grilled bonjiri with hearth smoke chicken, blue cheese salt tsukune skewers, and chicken broth ramen skewers. The skewers are of high quality in both ingredients and seasoning. Faithful to the basics and no flaws. And the hearth-grilled chicken wing tips are exquisite. This time, the grilled corn and okra were also delicious. As a single dish, the smoked chicken was fantastic. For the finish, there was oyakodon, but I chose ramen that no one else seemed to pick, haha. It may not have a strong punch, but I think it's a perfect dish to enjoy after eating the full course. The alcohol selection is extensive, including sake and wine. Although it's a yakitori place, there are many dishes that go well with champagne or wine. The price is around 23,000 yen per person. It might be considered expensive for a yakitori restaurant, but that's because I drank more alcohol than others. Still, it's significantly cheaper compared to sushi. Personally, I think the satisfaction level is higher with yakitori. I am filled with happiness after eating delicious food again this day. Living like a noble, haha.

This Tokyo branch of the most famous yakitori restaurant in Osaka offers an omakase course for 14,000 yen. The course includes chicken breast, seseri (neck), tori wantan (dumplings), sunagimo (gizzard), tebasaki (chicken wings), yagen nankotsu (soft bone), negima (chicken and scallion skewers), okura, corn, smoked chicken, tsukune (chicken meatballs with salt), harami (skirt steak), and dessert. For the finishing touches, they serve oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl), ramen, and shio shoga ramen (ramen with salt and ginger).
