The third place we visited was empty, the first floor was not appealing for shopping. Looks like we'll have to rely on Chinese tourists for business. Since we're here, I'll get a coffee to go. I ordered, paid, and received the coffee on the first floor. There were no other customers, but I had to wait for 10 minutes. The iced coffee cost 400 yen. Thank you!

I watched a game at the new Hokkaido Escon Field stadium of the Nippon-Ham Fighters and also went on a cafe tour in Sapporo. On the final day, I took a little trip to Otaru for sightseeing. After strolling through Otaru's premier shopping street, Sakaimachi Dori, we visited "OTARU CAFE×HELLO KITTY" located at the fairytale-like intersection at the south end of Sakaimachi Dori. The first floor is a Sanrio character goods shop, while the second floor is a cafe. I tried the following items: ⭐️ Curry Rice - 1,500 yen The rice is shaped like Kitty-chan's face. The curry is mild, suitable even for children. ⭐️ Cream Melon Soda - 800 yen The glass features Kitty-chan's drawing, and it comes with a Daniel-kun monaka. The cafe was not crowded, so it might be a hidden gem. Plush Kitty-chan dolls are placed on every table, making it a paradise for Sanrio fans.

This is the only Hello Kitty cafe in Hokkaido. It used to be located near the Meruhen intersection, but recently moved to the opposite side of the intersection. I think it used to be a shop with lots of Ghibli characters before. The first floor is a miscellaneous goods store selling character goods, and the second floor is a cafe. When you want to use the cafe, you need to inform the staff at the first floor register, then order and pay while looking at the menu. Afterwards, you go up the stairs to the second floor. I ordered a caramel latte (600 yen). The second floor has a cute atmosphere that Hello Kitty fans would love. There was only one group of ladies chatting as customers. Despite the many tourists outside, it was surprisingly quiet and could be a hidden gem. The caramel latte that was brought to me had sugar (?) on top that was hardened like a lid. I wonder if they do this to make it easier to draw on top? Even though poking it lightly with a spoon didn't do anything, applying a little more pressure made it crack and smoothly melt, so it didn't affect drinking it. It might be nice to take a break here if you're tired from sightseeing. Thank you for the hospitality~.
