[Sapporo Satorando] This facility within Sapporo Satoland operates only on weekends for lunch from 11:00 to 16:00, for a limited time (this season from 4/29 to 11/3). It seems to be a branch of the well-established Sapporo soup curry restaurant, Rakkyo. I have visited Rakkyo's main store before and had a good impression. I visited at 11:50 for a specific purpose at Satoland. There were many families with small children, as well as about 5 other groups of customers. The restaurant has a simple cafeteria-style atmosphere, typical of a government facility, but it is spacious. You can also enjoy the view of the beautiful green lawn outside. Orders are placed at the counter inside the restaurant, and payment is made in advance (cash only).
I ordered the "Chicken and Vegetable Soup Curry (1300 yen)" with a spice level of 4 (very spicy) out of 5 and medium rice (220g). The food was ready in about 10 minutes, and I went to pick it up when the buzzer rang, similar to what you would find in a food court. The soup had a shabu-shabu-like texture with pieces of seaweed floating on top, and it had the rich flavor of Rakkyo's signature beef bone broth, giving it a Western-style taste. However, the tomato acidity became more pronounced as I continued eating. The rice was Nanatsuboshi, slightly firm, which I liked. The seaweed was a memorable touch. The vegetables were cut into large pieces, lightly fried, colorful, and included asparagus, potatoes, eggplant, onions, carrots, and tender chicken. The vegetables were sweet and quite delicious. My companion cannot handle spiciness, so they chose level 1. I tried a bit, and found that at this level, the acidity of the tomato became too strong and the water from the vegetables (especially the tomatoes) made the flavor a bit off. If the spice level isn't increased a bit, the acidity will dominate towards the end, making it less enjoyable. In terms of value for money, considering the generous amount of vegetables, it seems to be within the standard range for soup curry in Sapporo. Overall, it was tasty, but it was a bit disappointing that the richness of the broth was somewhat overshadowed by the acidity of the tomatoes. My level 4 spiciness was able to mask the watery texture to some extent, but... Personally, both for me and my companion, we did not feel the necessity of the tomatoes (although they add a nice touch to the presentation).
