Hotel Keihan Sapporo, two of us were able to take a break at the same time, so we booked a room here. My wife mentioned that this hotel used to be our regular place to stay before we started using Tabelog. It used to be affordable, but the prices gradually increased, so we started choosing other options more often. This time, the rate was originally low, but my wife took advantage of a special discount for reconstruction. Sneaky, right?
The hotel is located near the station and although it's not very big, it has a large communal bath. If it's not big, then it's not a large bath, right? Let's not get greedy. The room was upgraded to a higher class, which made us very happy. The breakfast included was quite good. The room was spacious and clean, but the bathroom showed signs of aging.
During check-in, it was very crowded. It took a while because not everyone there was Japanese. They even upgraded our room to a higher class, which made us even happier. We planned to have breakfast at 6:30 to avoid the crowds, but we overslept and ended up going at 7:00. Surprisingly, it wasn't as crowded as we expected. Maybe many people didn't have the breakfast plan?
When we left at 9:30, the breakfast area was packed. Even the elevator had a sign saying it would be less crowded after 9:00, so many people must have been deceived. The ikura and bacon were good, but the bacon could have been crispier. The napoleon sausage flavor was okay, but it lacked crunchiness. The pickled vegetables were sweet and sour, and the miso soup was salty, probably due to the grated yam. The mackerel hamburger was just okay, and the ramen salad was slightly sweet. I ate too much and felt full. I don't think I can eat lunch. My wife said the Western-style dishes were very delicious, and she was impressed by the sophisticated service from the staff.
The bath was lukewarm, but it was still relaxing. As always, it was a good hotel experience.
