I made a reservation at one of the top 100 Western-style restaurants in Sapporo and arrived as soon as they opened in the evening. I had a stylish dinner at a stew specialty shop. I tried the Americaine cream stew for the first time, which cost ¥1810. I also ordered a salad and bread set for ¥450, with basil dressing for the salad. The Americaine cream stew was delicious with plenty of seafood and vegetables, all enveloped in a creamy sauce. The shrimp was the star of the dish, but the cream brought out the flavors of all the ingredients. It was so good that I couldn't resist using the bread to wipe up every last bit of stew on my plate. It was a satisfying and somewhat luxurious dining experience.

Before arriving at 11:20, there were already 2 groups of customers waiting, and the restaurant was full right after opening. Since I came to Sapporo this month, I decided to go on a solo day trip to eat at various restaurants, starting with Potofu in Kiyota Ward. Even though they opened at 11:30, there was already a line of 2 groups waiting! Luckily, I was able to park in front of the restaurant. As soon as they opened, customers started pouring in. It was full in about 10 minutes. About half of the customers had reservations. For my order, I chose the Beef Stew (half) set with bread and basil dressing. You can choose between rice or bread, and French or basil dressing. Most people seemed to order the Americaine Stew. I'm not a fan of seafood, so I went with the Beef Stew. The salad included beans, sunny lettuce, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes. Choosing the basil dressing was a great decision as the basil flavor and acidity complemented the salad well. The Beef Stew arrived in about 20 minutes. It was incredibly flavorful with a perfect balance of acidity and richness. The meat was tender and melted in my mouth. I opted for the half portion since I was on an eating tour, but for regular dining, I recommend getting the full portion. The warm, fluffy French bread was a great choice for dipping into the stew. The vegetables were fresh and really added to the overall experience. Sapporo has many high-level and delicious restaurants to enjoy!

Stew restaurants are not very common, but this place is seriously delicious. The fish stew here is really good. This time I had the seafood saffron cream stew. It had a taste that made you feel kinder to others. Definitely recommended. The bread is also delicious. The salad and dessert are also delicious. Go try it!

First visit, there were about 4 parking spaces in front of the store. I entered around 17:40 and there was only one group inside. I ordered the popular Americano set without hesitation. For the salad, I chose the homemade basil dressing. The stew arrived shortly after. It tasted different from what I expected! Rich in shrimp flavor, perfectly salty. The smooth soup had plenty of ingredients. The seafood was easy to eat and plentiful. Creamy, but with a unique mellowness unlike any stew I've had before. I realized it was my first time having Americano-style stew. Couldn't stop eating with the spoon. The salad I had before was also excellent. The basil dressing was amazing. A big hit. Bought some to take home on my way out. It's even more delicious to dip the bread in the soup. I hesitated between rice and bread. Because the reviews of the bread weren't great. But the bread was also a great choice. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Delicious bread on its own. I definitely recommend the bread. The overall balance was great, and the stew was a labor of love. I want to try other varieties, so I've decided to revisit. It was really delicious.

Seiei area in Kiyota Ward. Selected again for the top 100 Western-style restaurants on Tabelog in 2023. I visited for the first time in a while since being selected as one of the top 100. Made a reservation and visited at opening time. There is a parking lot and Wi-Fi available inside the restaurant. The Américaine stew is particularly popular, but I prefer the beef stew. I ordered: - Américaine Stew Regular (2050 yen): An enchanting orange-colored stew with the color of shrimp. Even before eating, you can imagine the umami and richness of the shrimp. When you take a bite, the rich umami of seafood spreads in your mouth. It feels like a bisque, but it's actually a stew with Américaine sauce. The ingredients include large head shrimp, peeled shrimp, scallops, clams, white fish. The vegetables include potatoes, carrots, daikon, eringi, and penne. Especially the daikon had a delicious taste with consommé seasoning. The potatoes had a salty taste and were delicious. On the other hand, the white fish had a light taste and fluffy texture, but felt a bit bland. All the seafood was fresh and delicious. I was thinking of eating pasta with this sauce, and to my surprise, there was penne in it. Also, dipping the excellent French bread in the stew was satisfying enough without the need for pasta. - Beef Stew Small (1290 yen): A rich demi-glace sauce with a slight lack of acidity. The umami of the beef is well brought out, and the red wine butter adds a mature taste with reduced sweetness. I'm not sure if it's the wheat used, the simmered vegetables, or the cooking method, but the quality is outstanding. The vegetables were delicious just like in the Américaine stew. The beef was tender, full of umami, and rather condensed into something wonderful. [Salad]: A salad that came with the set, with large beans that left an impression. The dressing didn't quite match the dish, but it was refreshing. [Bread]: The surprisingly well-made French bread. Strong wheat aroma even before eating. The thin crust was crisp and made a sound, while the inside was surprisingly moist and soft. The taste and aroma of wheat were strong. It was delicious and made me feel invigorated. [Rice]: Messy presentation. The rice was soft, sweet, and flavorful, but it was a shame considering it was delicious rice. *The bread is definitely recommended over the rice. - Oolong Tea (Set for 150 yen): My wife had it. - Iced Tea (Set for 150 yen): It's average, but hmm. It's a shame considering how good the food was. Overall, the rating is high, and the stew and bread are excellent, but there are some areas for improvement. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the regular size lunch set of American-style seafood stew for 2050 yen. I chose bread as the side dish for the lunch set. The American-style seafood stew was not your typical stew, it tasted more like a seafood bisque soup. It was rich in shrimp flavor and slightly salty, which was delicious. The texture was smooth and pleasant. It contained ingredients such as potatoes, carrots, broccoli, scallops, shrimp, clams, squid, and the white fish had a fluffy texture and was particularly tasty. The ingredients were all large, and the scallops were a good size, while the squid had a texture that seemed like it was freshly caught and grilled. The shrimp shells were surprisingly soft, so I ended up eating them whole (although I know you're not supposed to). The price of 2000 yen for a soup-based lunch may seem a bit high, but considering the quality and quantity of the ingredients, I found it reasonable. The taste was good, but not as exceptional as I had expected, so I felt it was a bit overrated. The bread was freshly baked with a slight sourness, a chewy interior, and a hard crust, making it delicious even on its own. The salad had a tangy dressing, making it refreshing. I visited on a hot weekday in June, but the air-conditioned interior kept me comfortable. I waited about 15 minutes for my order to be served. I arrived towards the end of lunchtime, close to 2 pm, but they were still taking orders, so I assume the cutoff time for lunch orders is around 2 pm. The restaurant offers free Wi-Fi with a password, and self-service water with cups provided at the table. The location in Mae is not near any subway or JR stations, so I had to take a bus from Fukuzumi Station or Otayacho Station. Parking is limited, but there are several convenience stores nearby with parking. The bus from Otayacho Station was significantly delayed, but I managed to arrive just in time for lunch (I took the "Dai88" bus to Mitsui Outlet Park from the No. 4 bus stop at Otayacho Bus Terminal). Checking the bus schedule and routes on the iPhone map app can be confusing, so driving is recommended if possible. The restaurant is quite out of the way, with no major commercial facilities or attractions nearby, so it requires a dedicated trip. I would like to visit again to try the beef stew and seasonal stews. Thank you for the meal.

I came back after a long time. I always get the American-style stew, while my colleague ordered the beef stew. We both got the regular size. It had been a few years since my last visit, but the taste has not changed and it was delicious as always. I would have been happier if the bread was not a baguette, as I don't like hard bread. It would be more convenient to visit if the parking lot was easier to find a spot.

I visited Potofu, a place I had always wanted to go to after seeing it on Takatoshi Land or something! I arrived around 1pm on a weekday!! There are only a few parking spaces in front, but miraculously one was empty! When I entered, I was told that the beef stew was already sold out that day! So, my choice was already made in my mind, I went for the Americaine instead! It took a while to be served, but as soon as I took a bite, it was delicious!! Absolutely amazing!! I'm not sure if it tastes good, but the flavor of the lobster sauce is exploding, and it goes so well with the bread!! It's so delicious that anyone who eats it will say it's delicious!! It's a bit pricey for lunch, over 1000 yen, but it's really a highly recommended restaurant for treating yourself or taking someone out! I have to try the beef stew next time!

I visited the popular restaurant as soon as it opened, and the place was quickly filled with customers. I ordered the Americaine stew and beef stew set, which was carefully made with large ingredients that provided a satisfying meal. The bread served on the side was also delicious. It was easy to see why this place is so popular. The gratin that someone else was eating also looked very tasty.

I tried the monthly set menu at this restaurant, which includes stew, salad, and choice of bread or rice, with options of fish or meat for the main dish. There are a total of 4 varieties available, including the American beef stew. I opted for the half-size meat with rice (small portion) for a discounted price. The salad arrived about 20 minutes after seating, followed by the stew and rice about 5 minutes later. The chicken and bacon cream stew was delicious, with tender meat and rich flavor. The salad was fresh, and the rice was soft and enjoyable, although I think bread would have been a better match for the stew (lol). Overall, it was a stew that truly felt like it was made with love by the chef.

Let's all do our best ✨ Today, I had plans in Sapporo and finally visited a Western-style restaurant I had been checking out for a while (^-^)/ This might be my last proper meal for a while, as I ended up getting acute gastroenteritis afterwards and still can't eat properly (T_T) I went to "Potof" in Sapporo, Kiyota-ku. It's located along Route 341, near the Makomanai Oroshi-ryo Sapporo Line. The exterior is a two-story residential building. Inside, it's cozy with a counter seating for 6, two-person table seating for 4, and a table for 4. The parking lot is small, so please park in order. It was 11:30 am. I ordered the ★Americaine Stew Set (Regular) for 1,920 yen (tax included), ★Daily Lunch Set Meat Stew with Rice for 1,320 yen, and Garlic Chips for 50 yen (tax included), and a drink for 110 yen (tax included). The stew had large button shrimp, seafood, and vegetables, with a rich shrimp broth that was creamy and very delicious ✨✨ The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft inside, perfect for dipping in the stew and also delicious ✨ I will definitely come back for the stew ⤴️ Thank you for the meal m(__)m Potof ☆Business hours 11:30-24:00 17:30-20:00 (Last order 19:00) ☆Closed on Thursdays, 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.

Cream stew with a rich shrimp flavor. Beef stew with plenty of beef chunks for satisfaction. Lasagna stew with scallops, fish, squid, clams, potatoes, daikon radish, meat sauce, and lasagna. It had a lot of ingredients and plenty of soup. I thought I would get full with the bread that came with it, but the lasagna was not too much and the soup was a lot, so I could eat just the right amount. The bread was very warm and delicious.

Amerikane Stew Set Regular 1,920 yen - Delicious from the first bite! I loved it. The deep flavor of the shrimp, the richness of the cream, and the perfect balance of flavors resonated beautifully. The ingredients were plentiful, including shrimp, Hokkaido scallops, white fish, squid, clams, vegetables, and macaroni, all of which were large and satisfying. The scallops were particularly good. However, the white fish lacked seasoning and seemed a bit bland. The finely textured baguette was warm and subtly flavored, making it a great accompaniment to the stew. The salad was fresh and satisfying. I was already full by the end of the meal. Initially, I thought the price was a bit high for lunch, but by the end of the meal, I felt it was justified given the taste and quality of the food. I fell in love with the Amerikane Stew in snowy early spring in Sapporo in March. I definitely want to try the beef stew next time.

At the end of the year, I visited "Potofu" in Hokkaido, which is a bit remote from Sapporo Station but is listed as one of the "Top 100 Western-style restaurants". From Sapporo Station, you take a train and then a bus for about ten minutes to get off at "Shinei 4-2". The bus stop was close to the restaurant. I had made a reservation and was able to enter smoothly. The interior had a casual Western-style atmosphere and even offered free WiFi. I was seated at the counter, and it seemed like they were taking measures for infection prevention as there was plenty of space. Yay! I ordered the popular Americaine Stew Set Regular Size (1,920 yen) which came with a choice of salad and bread or rice, and I chose bread. About 20 minutes after ordering, the salad was served, followed shortly by the main dish of Americaine Stew and bread. The Americaine Stew Set Regular Size (1,920 yen) was visually appealing with a variety of ingredients such as scallops, broccoli, mushrooms, radish, octopus, white fish, and squid. There were also macaroni in the stew. The salad was fresh and delicious, showcasing the tasty vegetables from Hokkaido. The stew had a rich and unique flavor, not easily described as sweet or spicy, but rather a combination of the flavors of each ingredient. The broccoli was perfectly cooked, the squid was tender, and the white fish was particularly delicious, melting in the mouth. The radish added a different taste to the soup. The bread, which was freshly baked with a special sesame, complemented the stew perfectly. Although the service took a bit of time, the quality of the bread made it worth the wait. Located in Maesawa, Kiyota Ward, this stew restaurant, Potofu Chotto, has been selected as one of the top 100 Western-style restaurants on Tabelog. It takes 40 minutes from Chuo Ward to Kiyota Ward, so I was hesitant to go there. But let me tell you, the level of stew here is exceptional! The taste is so good that you'll wonder if stew can really be this delicious. Especially the Americaine (rich in shrimp flavor and creamy) is addictive! The bread, crispy and hot, pairs perfectly with the stew. Make sure to visit around 12:30 pm as it gets crowded with reservations between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. For today's lunch, I visited a famous restaurant known for its simmered dishes. The most popular dish is the Americaine stew set, but I decided to go with the second most popular option, the beef stew. I've always wanted to visit a stew restaurant. Stew is something you can find in Western-style restaurants, but a stew specialty shop is quite rare, so I've been wanting to try one for a long time. Finally, I made it to this place. For my first time, I decided on the Americaine stew, so I ordered it right away. As expected, it took some time for it to be served, but when the piping hot stew arrived, I was already feeling happy. To think I could eat Americaine stew here!! It was packed with the umami flavor of seafood, especially shrimp, and the aroma that filled my mouth was just heavenly. The scent that wafted through my nose was also irresistible. The deliciousness was beyond words. It had a nostalgic and gentle taste. I felt so content. I suddenly remembered how much I want to eat this Americaine stew again, and I have a feeling I'll be visiting this place again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
