I felt like eating Genghis Khan in Hakodate, so I visited a restaurant. The female staff kindly taught me how to cook it, and I was able to enjoy delicious Genghis Khan. I could also have a fun conversation with her. There were three types of meat: lamb shoulder roll, lamb shoulder, and round lamb. They were all from Australia, but they were delicious without any unpleasant smell.

This restaurant accepts travel support coupons. There are basically three types of Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) here. You can order vegetables and rice separately according to your preference. There are also various drinks available such as draft beer and shochu. I tried all types of lamb - lamb shoulder, lamb loin, and whole lamb. I am satisfied because you can eat an amount of meat that matches the price. Personally, I felt nostalgic eating the whole lamb due to my age. It is a good restaurant where you can easily enjoy dining alone. It is a place where even JRA jockeys visit.

Hakodate nights call for Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). I chose this restaurant near the station. I arrived around 7 pm and there was only one group of customers, but by the time I left, it was full. It seems that a new restaurant specializing in lamb shabu-shabu, which is affiliated with this one, has just opened, as customers who thought they were going to that restaurant also visited this one frequently. Not only is the Genghis Khan here delicious, but the service from the staff is outstanding. As the restaurant got busier, orders were taken quickly and attentively, and they even cooked for those who didn't know how. This restaurant has a wall full of condiments for you to choose from, and even in these times, raw eggs are free. I tried various sauces, but the one mixed with raw egg was the most delicious. For the second stop, I followed the recommendation from the owner of "Izakaya Hachohachi Gyoko" in Daimon Yokocho. It was nice to continue this chain of recommendations. Just turn the corner from the alley next to the first place, and you'll find it right in front of you. Although I couldn't see inside the restaurant, I felt reassured as I opened the door. - Pork shoulder - Shochu (distilled spirit) with soda I could freely choose from the hundreds of seasonings neatly lined up on the wall inside the restaurant, but garlic is a must. Also, the wasabi was really good. It was delicious.

During my trip to Hakodate, I stopped by this place for a second round of drinks outside. They provided a private room for us, which was very relaxing. The friendly manager, who is originally from Yachimata in Chiba, explained everything to us in detail, making us feel very comfortable. The lamb meat was delicious. I'm not very familiar with Genghis Khan, as you usually have to come to Hokkaido to try it, but the sauce they used was tasty. The female staff members were also very nice, and we had a pleasant conversation as we left. It was a great memory from my trip to Hakodate.

During a 2-day trip to Hakodate, I wanted to try Genghis Khan for dinner, so I asked the hotel for a recommendation and they suggested this place. The restaurant didn't have any windows from the outside, so I was a bit unsure at first. If it wasn't for the recommendation, I might not have gone in. However, once inside, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. I ordered 3 types of lamb with vegetables, and the staff cooked it for me. They had a variety of seasonings available, which was fun to experiment with. Even the udon noodles at the end were delicious.

The first seafood izakaya was not very satisfying, so I jumped into a back alley. Happy hour after 8 pm? The 280 yen drinks were appreciated. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was decent. It didn't feel like a typical yakiniku place. There were condiments lined up on one wall, which you could customize. You can also alternate between Sorachi and Bell sauce as you like. Keep it simple. You can eat raw lamb, but all of it is from Australia. It was a bit disappointing, but the prices were reasonable and after all the seafood, the sweetness of the meat and vegetables was delicious.

I came to Hakodate for the first time. I had delicious Genghis Khan in Sapporo before, so I came to Hokkaido thinking it was all about Genghis Khan. Well, some other restaurants were closed or full, but still. My impression is that the meat was okay. It's raw lamb, but really just average. It seems like their selling point is grilling it on a charcoal grill. They had a variety of sauces like Bell, Sorachi, and lots of spices lined up on the shelf. The staff at the restaurant quickly asked if we needed more meat, and also promptly asked about drinks. If we didn't order more, they quickly removed the charcoal grill. The vibe from the staff was so-so. They only served shochu in a glass, and the cost performance might not be great. It was a night where I regretted not researching properly.

At Genghis Khan Hakodate Yoshida in Hakodate, I had Genghis Khan lamb barbecue. The first place was full and the second place was closed, so I ended up at this restaurant. They were originally full but managed to find a seat for me. I started with a Sapporo Classic Draft beer, and then grilled the lamb on charcoal grills. I ordered all three types of lamb and a vegetable set. The staff taught me how to grill the meat while I enjoyed the delicious flavors. I particularly liked the marinated lamb. The main sauces were a tangy Bell sauce and a grated horseradish Sōrachi sauce, which I preferred. There were also many other condiments available for customization. When it comes to Hokkaido, you think of Genghis Khan! So on the first night of our trip to Hakodate, we went to a Genghis Khan restaurant. We had lamb shoulder, lamb loin, and lamb round with fresh vegetables. The staff explained how to grill the meat on the round iron plate over the charcoal grill. We could choose between two types of sauce, one spicy and the other with a citrus flavor. I was worried about any gamey taste, but there was none. Visited on November 23, 2018. The fourth place I visited today was here, "Genghis Khan Hakodate Yoshida Hakodate Ekimae Store". This shop is known for serving tender raw lamb. The interior of the shop consists only of counter seats. It has a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy your meal comfortably. The menu at this shop is very simple. For the main menu, they offer raw lamb shoulder, raw lamb shank, whole lamb, grilled vegetables, and rice. For side dishes, they have grilled udon noodles, grilled rice balls, kimchi, edamame, and egg soup. The menu is very straightforward, which I like. I especially like that they only serve lamb without any unnecessary parts. I tried the raw lamb shoulder, and it was tender and delicious. Even though I was a bit drunk, I remember it well. And of course, the sauce is crucial for Genghis Khan. In this shop, they proudly serve store-bought sauce. I find this amusing. When it comes to Hokkaido Genghis Khan sauce, you will see rows of Bell and Sorachi on the shelves. It's kind of refreshing, isn't it? In other words, it means that this shop allows you to taste the homemade flavor of Hokkaido Genghis Khan. Thank you for the meal.

A mother with a strong business sense enthusiastically caught our attention and led us in. She was friendly, but her strong focus on sales was unmistakable. The food was good, but not amazing! (laughs)

Seasonings were free and customizable, the meat was good, and the service was excellent. Other places charge for seasonings, so that was a bonus. I definitely want to come back!

We visited the restaurant during summer vacation with my elementary school son. It was his first time trying Genghis Khan, and he loved it because it was tender and didn't have a strong smell. Despite the record-breaking heat, the lack of air conditioning made it a bit tough, but the staff were very friendly and the food was truly delicious!
