I used to think they were just putting on a front, but seeing how they have expanded their products, it doesn't seem like a lie. I tried their "Kazunoko Cheese?" It's cheese-based, so it might go well with beer or wine, right? My wife tried it first and said, "This tastes like sake." It's quite creamy with a slight crunch. "This tastes like soy sauce," I said. And then, "This tastes like wasabi." I see, it might actually be sake. It's delicious, but it might be a bit pricey.

During summer vacation, I went on a trip to Hokkaido with my friends and visited Hanabatake Bokujo Otaru store in Otaru, Hokkaido. There were various products from Hanabatake Bokujo, and I bought their Raclette Cheese Popcorn as a souvenir (^ - ^) The combination of Raclette cheese and popcorn with a cheesy aroma was delicious, and I couldn't stop eating it. I finished the whole bag in no time (^o^) I would definitely buy it again when I visit Otaru next time. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

The sales outlet of Hanabatake Farm along the Otaru Rinko Line. The red storefront stands out. It is located right next to the parking lot for large buses. When it comes to Hanabatake Farm, Gyotaro's caramel was explosively popular, but indeed, the caramel that melts in your mouth is delicious. However, the soft-serve ice cream here is also very delicious! It is sold from around Golden Week, and once you try it, you will want to eat it again for its unforgettable taste. The price may be a bit high, but it's worth trying once. Maybe it's the milk from the farm's cows that makes it so good... It's a deliciousness that can't be satisfied with just richness.

It is a well-known store, so I decided to check it out. Inside the narrow, red brick shop, the signature product "fresh caramel" was displayed in various varieties. They had measures in place to limit entry during busy times, but it seemed fine unless there were large groups like school trips. I bought a few types of fresh caramel as souvenirs and completed the shipping process with "Cool Takkyubin" on the spot. In a corner of the store, they were selling "Hanabatake soft-serve ice cream" for takeout only! They had three flavors - vanilla, caramel, and mix. I bought one right away! The soft-serve ice cream with fresh caramel flavor was delicious, and it was reasonably priced for a famous store. It's a great treat to enjoy fresh caramel soft-serve ice cream while exploring Otaru. :)

I had soft serve ice cream and bought the Raclette cheese that I was looking for at this shop. The soft serve ice cream I had was a mix of caramel flavor and it was very delicious with a rich taste. However, I was disappointed with the Raclette cheese. I bought it on May 1st during Golden Week, and the expiration date was May 16th. I convinced myself that it was because it was fresh cheese from Hokkaido, but when I saw the same Raclette cheese at a souvenir shop in Hakodate's Hanabatake Farm corner on May 4th, the price was the same, but the expiration date was July 26th. I had bought two, and I had given one as a gift to a friend, so I made sure to explain the short expiration date before giving it. I will not buy from Hanabatake Farm in the future.

I tried the cheese, Raclette, from Hanabatake Bokujou. Raclette comes from the French word meaning "to scrape." It is a popular dish in France and Switzerland where the cheese is melted over a fire and then scraped onto potatoes or bread. The cheese had a slightly strong smell, but if you like cheese, it shouldn't bother you at all. Hanabatake Bokujou's cheese is just too delicious!

Nowadays, it's not uncommon, but when I went last year, there were still quite a few tourists. Many Chinese and Hong Kong people were lining up to buy souvenirs. The flavors were varied, so I bought a set of five. I remember there was Yubari melon, plain, mango, ... I forgot the rest, but they all melt in your mouth and are delicious. However, after eating three, you've had enough. No one eats raw caramel anymore, so I hope they come up with some new products.

But what caught my attention was their "Hanabatake Farm Premium Soft Serve Ice Cream" - I knew I had to try it before leaving. The shop offered three flavors: vanilla, caramel, and a mix of both. Without hesitation, I ordered the caramel flavor for 380 yen, a bit pricey but worth it for a treat. The soft serve arrived beautifully swirled, and with one bite, I was amazed by the rich and intense caramel taste that coated my tongue. Despite the chilly October weather in Hokkaido, I enjoyed the delicious treat alone as no one else on the bus seemed interested. However, upon returning, a few older gentlemen from the bus overheard my enthusiasm and decided to visit Hanabatake Farm themselves. This shop, conveniently located next to the tourist bus parking lot, is sure to attract a lot of attention, especially during the summer. Although it was a bit cold for soft serve ice cream in autumn, I highly recommend trying their rich and flavorful soft serve if you're a fan of caramel. It was truly delicious. My friend came to visit from Otaru, and brought me some souvenirs. The first one is the famous Hokkaido Flower Garden Farm's caramel, which I have had before and it was delicious. The second one is a rare white mozzarella that my friend said is hard to find and popular on TV. It has a milky taste and is not too cheesy, so even kids can enjoy it. However, it is a bit messy when cut and meant to be eaten in one go, which feels quite luxurious.

I received a gift of "Mochipusu" from Hanabatake Bokujo, a famous farm known for Tanaka Yoshitaka. Hanabatake Bokujo is famous for its fresh caramel and Kachokabaro. Mochipusu is a snack made by soaking rice crackers in fresh caramel or milk chocolate. I tried the milk chocolate flavor. When I bit into it, I could tell that the chocolate had seeped into the inside. As a result, the crunchy texture was reduced. It's a nice gift to receive, but for personal consumption, it's a bit underwhelming. The price is a bit high, around 300-400 yen per bag. Definitely more suitable as a souvenir, I'd say.
